The fit was good my only problem was the bra attachment was a little loose. awesome dress

Wore a size 4R in this dress and that was surprising. It was very forgiving, probably could have worn the 6R as well, but it was not in stock. The dress fit well, with Spanx of course. Did not care for the corset bra, but made that work. It was a little longer than I would have liked because we went dancing, otherwise length would have been ok. Had to wear 3" heals and pull the black up in the front and secure with a pen or else it drug the ground. If was not dancing in it, would have been fine.

This was my first time using RTR, and I'm pleased with the service! I wear a size 6, and this was true to size. The length was perfect, but I was not a huge fan of how it fit around my bust. There is a corset top that has its own zipper underneath the gown. I purchased the most padded bra they had at Victoria's Secret and it still didn't help me fill this in. Luckily you couldn't tell in pictures, but I kept having to pull it up and adjust more than I liked. We saw several RTR gowns at our black tie event, but none like this one. Lots of compliments all night long. I wish I didn’t have to give it back. Thank you RTR!!

I went to Rent-the-Runway's pop-up showroom in DC, which they hosted in preparation for the upcoming inaugural balls, and I'm really glad I did. I had been admiring this dress online, but wasn't sure how it would look on my frame (5'3" and toned-but-curvy). They didn't have this dress there, but they did have another dress from Halston Heritage - the "Manhattan Night Mist" gown - which is the exact same cut but solid purple/midnight blue. Although I usually wear a size 10 (broad shoulders), my stylist encouraged me to try the 8, and it fit great. If you are between sizes, I would definitely go down a size. I picked this black and white version over the purple version because I liked the two-toned look and also thought the chances of someone else wearing the black-and white version at my ball would be lower. I was right! (A word of warning: I love RTR, but if you're not careful in making your dress selection and you're going to a big party like an inaugural ball, you are likely to run into another woman wearing your dress! There were at least six women at our ball wearing the same Carmen Marc Valvo "All Eyes on You" gown, and several others wearing other designs like the Badgley Mischka "Screen Siren" Gown. If you want a look all your own, but want to use RTR for a big party, my tip is to look for dresses that haven't been reviewed very often, like this one.) Anyway, I loved every minute of wearing this dress and was very sad to return it. I accessorized the dress with long black gloves and simple pearls. I went light on the jewelry because the dress's neckline speaks for itself. I got lots of compliments at the ball, and even more the next day when I posted photographs. The dress photographs very well! My only complaint is that the dress was really long. I wore 3" heels and the dress still dragged a little, as you can see in the pictures. Thansk RTR! I will definitely be using you again soon.

Wore this to a gala, had no idea this color combo was so popular. Please note that it isn't white, it's off white, almost cream. There were at least 5 women wearing beautiful color block gowns with this color combination but I was proud to say that this dress absolutely stood out in a class by itself. I'm a DDD cup and just for my own security I wore a strapless bra but there is one built in. My only issue is that the inner zip has boning in the built in bra and it was extremely sharp and protruding through and almost cut my back, I had to literally wrap something around the sharp edge, I would expect that better care be taken to ensure the maintenance of this beautiful gown, but other than that small issue, it was a beautiful evening.

This is a great dress if you want to stand out from all the black gowns at the party! I wanted something that was elegant yet modern and this dress fit the bill. It runs large and long. I am 5' 9" and the regular length was plenty long enough for me. I would have tripped all night in the L. The reason for 4 stars vs 5 is that the material (jersey) and style of the dress makes it a bit difficult to get everything falling on the body in the right way! Once you do however, you will love it! I am self conscious of my tummy and hips and this dress managed to hide my issues. I did not have to wear a bra with it because there is a built in corset within the top part. In fact, you will need someone to help you zip up the back of the corset. i am single and had to ask a neighbor/friend to come over to handle the corset zipper and clasp! LOL..

The fit of the dress was okay. The bust was not a good fit for me, and I'm a B right now. The back zipper stuck out, so that was annoying. It was a GREAT dress though! Love the design and the color scheme is hot right now. Very sophisticated! a show stopper.

It fits well - form fitting, but not too tight or restrictive. High slit which isn't a problem walking or standing but slightly when you sit. It's a bit complicated to put on - but once you get it on you'll be glad you did. Such a distinctive dress. And very elegant.

Pros: beautiful dress Cons: the strap on the back that's holding up the bustier was annoying it kept poking me all night.

this dress was beautiful and i received a ton of compliments however the only negative was in the zipper and hem line are the material poked out and not in a pretty spot! i was in the bathroom for the first 20 minutes trying to pin it down. it didnt work :( im sure im the only one who noticed. i also ordered the 2R im almost 5'5 an it was a bit long.

Really fun dress but the chest ran large and bunched up

When I received this dress I was so excited! I put it on and unfortunately it was huge in the top, even with the extra lining and zipper on the inside. Outside of the fit I didn't like the way it looked on me. It felt awkward and wrong. At least now I know not to get the one in Navy either. I hope this fits better for someone else, it does look really cute on the model.

did accent my cruves did not like it

I am 5'7 and bought the longer length. big mistake, had to wear 4" heals to keep it from dragging. someone did step on it while walking. Fit great otherwise.
