I would say it fits pretty true to size. While I was able to zip up the size 2, the draping was better in the size 4. I tried it on with an underwire bra and it messed up the draping. Swapping out for a bralette produced a more elegant fit. Probably not the best dress for the very well endowed. Got a ton of compliments. Color was gorgeous. Perfect for a black tie wedding.

I ended up overnighting this dress at the last minute because my first choice was just not what I had expected, but I'm so glad I did. This dress was simple, comfortable, and elegant. It looks like it might be jersey in the picture, but it's actually a heavy silk. I'm fair-skinned and redheaded and the coloring was perfect. The draping was so flattering and I got compliments all night. I'm right under 5'7" (so usually between a regular and a long) and also usually between a 6-8, but the 6L was perfect with 3" heels (could've even gone an extra inch taller probably). Didn't even have to use spanx! The only, teeny tiny issue (which I didn't even really care about) is with a regular bra, the very top showed in the back. Again--I don't really see this as a problem, but my friend and boyfriend were pulling at the top of my dress all night. Overall, I really didn't have any complaints. Wish I could've kept it!

Worn to a wedding in December - not a black tie occasion but I still wanted to dress it up a bit more than a cocktail length. The fabric is VERY comfortable and had a flattering drape. The dress is indeed very long - I got a 4L because I'm so huge - with some heels it was great. (picked it up over street to not get it wet)

Rented this dress for a black tie gala....lovely fit although a tad long even for me (5'10" with 3 1/2" heels)....dress fit well...was comfortable and forgiving. No spanx needed in the correct size. I felt elegant for the evening, although some tore my hem at the end of the evening dancing. Wish it was just a touch shorter (something I almost never say). You can really see the draping and the fabric in the first photo, and they really make the dress. I wore some shape wear in the second and third photos but it wasn't really needed because the draping hides a lot and the fabric flowed really well. I'm a 38D (borderline DD) and the only issue I had with the dress was a little pulling around the chest. It was still comfortable and I was able to dance all night but in some pictures it looked a little weird. Also, it was really really long. I had pretty high heels so it was fine but when I rent this again (and I totally will) I might get a long and a regular length.

I'm 5'4'' and got the 6 and it was a tad long, but also wasn't wearing super high heels. Unfortunately no petites, so if you're short, go a size smaller.

Loved both the dress and clutch! I received a lot of compliments on both.

I have mixed feelings about this dress, although my overall impression is good. The color is amazing, but a lot of the drapery hangs awkwardly. It definitely did not look as snug and flattering as it does on the model. And granted, no one else knows what it looks like on the model so they won't know any better, but I was slightly disappointed. It looked alright, just not amazing. If I ever rented this dress again I might just try going down a size.

The dress is a tad bit large and it gets wrinkled easily. That being said, it was a show stopper. The green was beautiful and with a statement necklace it is absolutely elegant. I ordered a 2L and the long was LONG. I am 5'7 and I had to hold the dress up even with 3-4 inch heels. The back isn't too low that you can't wear a normal bra, which was very important to me.

Wonderful simple dress, was feeling really bloated (time of month...just being honest) and it completely made me feel thin and accentuated my curves. The accessory made me love the dress and I owe that to the wonderful gal that helped me at the NYC RTR store.

The back of this dress is def not at low as on the model, but I still loved it. Have some extra fabric tape on hand to get the waist to fall how you want it. I am 5'6" 138 pounds and ordered the 2 and 4 R. I ended up wearing the 2R with flats. My husband is super tall so I would have preferred to wear heals, but wanted the hem to hit the ground...so order the L if you want to show off in heals. All in all I cannot wait for the next event to use R the R again. Couldn't be easier!

A little long so had to be holding dress up all night. The middle part was confusing to make it look/stay like in the picture. Back was not a low as expecting. Besides that, the dress was amazing, received compliments all night!

Great fit and very flattering....color is so pretty for winter!

I normally wear a 6 on top and 8 on bottom regular clothing (pear shape). The 6R was perfect all over. The bottom is slightly trumpet shape with decorative off-center pleats at the waist. Very flattering! No squeezing involved with this dress. Side waist zip cinches it in the middle. I was worried about the low back when I saw it on the website, but no prob when I put it on. Regular bra strap stayed underneath with no special tape or adjustment. I didn't have to think about my dress all night except realizing that I looked great!!!

The color and the fabric were beautiful; cut itself is flattering but I found it big on the waist.

Very forgiving of those little imperfections as it drapes nicely without being inappropriately snug.

The fit on the smaller size was perfect!! I'm very tall (6'1" with shoes) so I'm always ecstatic to find garments that are long enough. The fabric was a very light, soft silk. The color was more "hunter" than "Emerald", but still nice. I didn't end up wearing it to my event because my "back up dress" (also from RTR) was much more fabulous. RTR customer service is phenomenal. I would rent again in a heartbeat.

The dress fit perfectly! It was comfortable and lightweight, and the color was beautiful! The only thing is that the color doesn't really show in photos, so if that's a priority for you I'd take that into consideration! Other than that, the simple style was great and flattering, and I felt like I could eat! ;)

rent the runway scanner Tag was in wrong place so I wore it backwards. Looked good that way. Was drape-y and long. Wore it with a big cozy McQueen burgundy wrap. Was elegant. A bit over washed though. Didn't look new

This dress can be dressed up or down. It was a little long, but flows so beautifully that you feel like a princess. It is all silk and feels like a night gown, but looks amazing. The folds hit right at the spots you want to hide, and is very flattering. It is my favorite thing that I have rented by far and I usually love my rentals.

Fit is ENORMOUS. I could have worn a 6 or even a 4. I didn't end up wearing it because it made me look like a little girl trying on my mother's clothes. I have rented this before when I weighed a bit more and it was a beautiful dress, it just gets really long if you don't fill it out.

The dress fell smoothly, but didn't especially emphasize a waistline. The shoulders fit a bit awkwardly. Otherwise, it beautifully fluid.

runs large, and was not figure flattering for me so i did not wear any of my rentals, but did wear a RTR dress that i purchased on clearance!

I'd been thinking about renting this dress a couple times. I didn't wear it however, because I rented a 0 (the smallest available size) and it was simply too long and too large. Even in 3" heels, I continually stepped all over the hem, and my bra did show in the back. It bunched on the sides, which makes me think it would work better on someone with a long torso. On my petite, slightly curvy body, it was a no-go, so I sent it back and went with a different gown. On the plus side, the fabric is very easy and light. Also, the color would've been demure enough for my conservative, military event, but unique enough to set me apart.

You need to wear a bra with a low back strap, Mine kept showing all night and distracted me. Also the tag on the dress stuck out repeatedly despite the fact that I'd taped it in.

This dress looks tight on the model but I went with the bigger size because when I got it in it was I realized it was the kind that needed to flow. It was a bit big in the shoulders and I generally have to size up because of the shoulders. I didn't wear heels and the Long size was perfect.

The color and fabric of this dress is absolutely beautiful and luxurious. I rented a 4 and a 6 based on the reviews but the 4 was too loose. If my backup dress hadn't fit, I definitely could have made due with the 4 (the length was perfect, too), but I would have preferred the dress to be a bit more fitted to be comfortable. If you are pretty straight up and down and small on top, size down.

I didn't like the twist portion

The dress for me was too big and the folds in the dress were not flattering on my body type I felt large in the waist in it and I'm not. My fault though I usually like form fitting. The color and style is true to the picture. The front of the dress goes up a little and the back lays a little longer so it looked short on my from the front and I'm talk so I didn't like that. It felt two sizes to big for me. I couldn't wear it. But it's still a beautiful dress. Loved the color with my red hair.

Although it was flattering on some, the dress did not look good on me. The folds in the fabric were not in the right place making the dress look baggy. I think it just was not for my shape because in other photos it looks great on some women. Needless to say I did not end up wearing this dress and went with my backup. I did however love the color, it is pretty true to the model's photo.

It is a gorgeous dress and super sexy, but it shows every flaw, undergarment and anything put under the dress. I choose to wear the other dress I rented because I did not feel comfortable enough with my body shape to wear this dress. For the confident person with the perfect body this dress is for you! Maybe next year when I lose all the baby weight!

This was my back up dress, and while I went w/ my 1st choice, I would have been happy to wear it. The drape is lovely, the color is flattering and it's super comfortable. As other reviewers noted, it doesn't look quite like the one on the model -- it's not boat necked in front or a low scoop in the back.

I really wanted to wear this to a charity gala, but it just didn't work out. It was too voluminous in the wrong places, and the fit was off. Nice material and gorgeous color, though. Would probably work on someone a big curvier.

I love the color and simplicity of this dress, but if you are a size 0 who can't order a smaller size, skip it. This dress was just too big to be elegant on me, but of course, RTR was awesome about letting me return it for credit.

Was an okay dress. Didn't love the color and think it looks better on the model. Didn't see the draping as much on the backside either. Wouldn't rent this one again, there's better options! Rented the 8 as there was no 6 available but wouldn't think there'd be much difference between the 6 & 8.

This dress runs pretty large and has lost all shape (again, assuming from being rewashed so often). Maybe a smaller size would have fixed this problem, but I doubt it.

The style of this dress was not for me. I tried it on and it looked like a big bag on me. Wasn't very flattering for my curvy athletic figure.

I was expecting a boatneck dress with a low dipping back, but the front is a scoop neck and the back dip is very shallow. It looks elegant on the model, but it looked frumpy on and not formal enough for a black tie affair. I am typically a 0 or 2, ordered the 0 and it was too big to wear. The fabric is sort of a brushed satin, kind a cheesy. I don't recommend this dress.

comfortable and elegant. Back was just barely too low for a regular bra, I wore silicone petals as the fabric is thin and silky. This was a backup I tried at the store as the original dresses I reserved were far too long for even hem tape.
