I wore this for graduation photos and it was perfect. If you carry more weight in your thighs/stomach and are petite on top, this will make you look and feel like a million bucks—the cut is so flattering. I'm normally between a 4 and a 2 and the 2 fit like a glove. Definitely great if you want something professional/conservative but still flirty and unique (the short, flouncy hem of the dress helped with the latter). My boyfriend actually picked it out because he thought it would look great, and he was right! We both liked it so much that I'm considering purchasing the dress.

I was looking for a classic lbd with sleeves for my early November (in Chicago) engagement photos and ordered this dress when there weren't any reviews yet a little nervously. When I received it and tried it on, I fell completely in love! It was EXACTLY what I was looking for. It didn't make my wife hips look big and didn't stick out at the hips. My waist looked tiny and the sleeves kept me just warm enough on a cloudy 45 degree afternoon. I usually wear a 6 but am petite and usually wear a 4 in an a line dress. Both fit but I went with the 4 because I felt like I looked smaller as it was a bit more fitted. The sleeves in the arms and shoulders are a bit tight so if you are larger there the bigger size might be better. I'm a little under 5'2" and it fell right where I wanted, a few inches above the knee. I highly recommend! I may have to find something to rent it for again!

This dress runs true to size and is really flattering. Little longer at the butt so not to hike up and nice sleeve length. Perfect little black dress that I ended up buying I loved it so much.

This dress is the perfect little black dress! The fit was very flattering, I was able to move and dance without issue. Being 5'11, I was worried about it being too short but the length ended up being perfect. Wish I could keep it!

I rented this dress for a dinner out and it was perfect. Nice thick good quality material and rally flattering in the waist. I'm really petite so it fit a little big in the shoulders and chest but still looked great. Would rent again!

I was worried that this dress might be a little too plain next to the sparklier dresses that I picked for this event, but when my original choice fell through, I couldn't resist the Halston label and the classic style. That is exactly what this is, a classic, classy little black dress. It fit me perfectly and being 5' 2" instead of model-tall, it hit me right at the knee, which was perfect. The dress is a heavy (quality) material that didn't wrinkle and held up so well all night. It was incredibly comfortable and I got lots of compliments. Definitely one that I would have in my wardrobe if I could afford it!

The dress isn't special in that there are no embellishments (god I would have loved it to have pockets) but the fit is amazing. I just felt good in it.

I loved this dress the moment I put it on! It's got a sturdy material, feels structured but the skirt is flowy. Super flattering a-line cut which helps create curves and hide my problem area (belly). Very comfortable and fits great. I love where it hits at the leg because it makes the legs look super thin... some may feel it's too short but I wear spanx that have little shorts so I wasn't too worried about it. (I also am between sizes.. it may run a little small like most RTR dresses but it zipped up)

I rented this for my law firm's holiday party. The dress is a nice, thick material, perfect for winter. My only complaint is that it's longer in person than I expected it to be, and the zipper was tough to use.

The style of this dress is great for a handful of occasions and can be worn for everyday purposes. I am in between sizes and can fit a size 8 in some things but 10 in others due to my hips. I wore an 8 so I would say this runs very true to size due to the comfortable fit. I am about 5'6 and a half and this dress came right above my knees so not as short as pictured on model if you are average height. The fabric was comfortable and I had a lot of room in the bust area so I would definitely recommend this style for all body types.

I normally wear a 0-2, but this 2 fit me more the way a 4 would. It was still cute, just a bit more buttoned up of a look than I was going for.

Great for pear/hourglass shape because it has a tight waist and flares out. I usually wear an 8 but it was too small so I got a 10 which fit perfect.

Really loved everything about this dress. Perfect fit for an hourglass figure. Might be a tad short for someone much taller than me. Can be worn to work or to a formal affair and anything in between. My one criticism isn't about the dress itself but about the accumulated b.o. from prior renters that I guess gets "activated " by body heat of the wearer after wearing the dress for several hours. I wore the dress to work and by the end of the day the b.o. under the arm pits was definitely noticeable and unpleasant. This indicates that the dress should have been pulled from circulation by RTR.

I needed a dress for a funeral, but didn't want something boring/matronly. This is a nice compromise between stylish and conservative. It hit just above my knee and looked cute with opaque black tights and ankle boots. A number of people complemented me on it's classic style. For me, it was tight in the arms. The 10 fit perfectly, but I would have lost circulation in my hands. The 12 was a bit large in the waist, but the arms were comfortable.

Picked this up at the last minute at RTR Chicago when the dress and backup I ordered for a wedding didn't fit at all. It's beautiful, well made, and fit like a dream. I'm usually a 6 or an 8 depending on the brand, and the 8 was just right. Definitely recommended for my fellow pear shapes. It was a super classy choice for a church wedding, but still fun because of the swingy flared skirt. This dress would be an appropriate choice for so many occasions and I might go purchase it; I didn't want to give it back.
