I rented this for a Malibu winter wedding, and I was not disappointed. Super flattering, and the slit adds some fun to it. The slit does show a lot of leg when walking, so that is something to think about. Overall I loved the dress and would totally rent again.

I LOVED THIS DRESS. It was extremely flattering and also very comfortable. The only issue with it was the slit was a bit revealing when I sat down, I had to hold it closed a little bit. But overall it's a great dress and I would definitely recommend it, it's a slightly expensive rental but worth the price. I may even rent it again!

Fit was great. I had both the 38l and the 40l. I originally tried on the 38l and was thrilled how it fit. Then I decided to try the 40l. It was looser, but looked better. That's the design of the dress. I have broad swimmer shoulders and back so the dress fell better. My date agreed the 40l looked better because the back wasn't pulling so much. I used fashion tape on my chest so it didn't fall open when I leaned over. I wouldn't have needed this on the 38l. Even with 3 1/2 inch heels the dress was long enough. I'm 5'10". Maybe a bit too long, I tripped on the hem a couple times. I loved the dress and got so many compliments on it.

I have the hardest time finding a dress that doesn't make me look too busty and flatters my curvy figure. This dress was absolutely perfect and I got compliments on it all night. I was sad to return it.

This dress lived up to the expectation and more! I read a lot of reviews before making my final decision and boy did I make the right one--it is SO flattering! The dress fits true to size, slightly long on a shorter gal like me but the slit helps disguise that. The only thing I did not like about the dress was a slight gap in the bust area (outer edges) but it was not a deal breaker, nor did it take anything away from making me feel like a gem the entire night! If you have a fuller bust you should have no problem with this "gap" at all. I think the "short gal wearing a regular size" situation was the root of this particular problem. Both sizes did arrive with a small stain--they were so small and barely noticeable so I wore the dress as it was anyway. Final verdict: I would wear this dress again in a heartbeat!

I wore the 40L with 3" heels and the length was perfect.

I loved this dress! I was a little concerned with the slit and the plunging neckline for a National Sales Meeting Awards Gala But, after tacking the slit with a couple stitches I felt much better. I received so many compliments.

First, I'll speak to the quality of the dress. The crepe on the bottom half was thick and very comfortable. The satin on the top was also very comfortable and held its "relaxed" shape without falling off. Note: the slit is very high. I didn't mind it, but something to be aware of when you sit/walk. Fits true to size. I loved this dress and would totally rent it again!

I wore this for a special night at the opera. The 6 just barely fit but was very figure flattering. The slit shows A LOT of leg while you're walking so if you're looking for a totally conservative dress, this might not be for you.

I was sent a size bigger than what I requested. It fit and looked great, but I would have liked a size smaller. It in general is a little loose which makes it super flattering. I got so many compliments. The dress was classy and sexy both.

I wish I could keep this dress I usually wear a 2 or 4 I was a 6 and it fit great except the straps were a little big but nothing too serious. It was a great dress for a formal event. It was comfortable and a great fit! The top was a little big the straps but nothing a little tape couldn't work. Flattering comfortable and very complimentary.

I wore this dress for a charity gala night. The dress looks very simple and plain on the photos. In real, this is the most elegant dress I ever saw. Very classy, yes simple, but the dress is gorgeous enough to show women's body. This dress is good to wear if you want to look sexy, yet classy. I'm usually between a size 2 and a 4 and this fit perfectly. I could've used some double stick tape on my boobs, as you can't wear a bra (it's low cut) and the material gapes a bit when you're dancing. The slit is high but not too high. This is a dress that definitely looks better on than in pics. I loved the navy blue satin; it gave the dress a slipdress feel but it's more structured and hides your flaws better. I highly recommend!

I wore the medium but i think the small could have worked. The dress was classy and comfortable but the lining at the bottom kept showing / could be wear and tear from all the renting. I wore a black strapless bra and thong spanx. I wanted a smoother look. The pattern seems like it would be very slimming but it wasn't as slimming as expected. It sort of widened my hips. Despite that it was a comfortable dress and i recommend this to anyone

The color was absolutely beautifully and the satin fabric was a nice quality. I love the slit in the leg and the V cut in the front and back. However , I ordered the 38L (size 6) and it was a little loose, as if it was worn a lot. You could tell it was getting worn out by the stretch and the fabric. The straps were too large so I had to pin them up to keep it from falling off and revealing my boob. The length was perfect (I'm 5'4) with heels. Other than that, this was a wonderful dress for the Marine Corps Ball.

It was incredibly comfortable, I wish I got to wear it for a longer period of time. I probably could have sized down to a 36R(4), but I only had the 38R(6). With that said, the top was too big on me so I ended up shortening the straps (turned them inside out and sewed one straight line, and ripped them out before sending the dress back). I'm 5'4'' and wore 4 inch heels so the dress just touched the ground.

This made my two-months postpartum body look amazing but I was afraid to wear it. The low cut back means one false move and the strap would fall and expose my bust. The split is very high, so if you are going to be dancing you'll need bike shorts.

First, RTR called me and couldn't send the original size I ordered, 38L (6L), so I got the 40L (8) instead. I am 5'9 and normally wear long, but this long drug about 4-5 inches on the ground in the back. I understand it has a train, but the fabric is heavy and it was underneath me while I was stepping all over it. The top was way too loose (probably because I needed the 38, not 40) and had I bent over the top would have fallen off exposing my chest. I had RTR overnight me the 40R (because someone had just rented the 38R, of course) and it actually fit much better in the chest, although I still would have used fashion tape on the shoulder straps. The length on this one just touched the floor in the back with flats. It is very difficult to wear a bra with and you would need a u plunge and low back bra or lots of tape and some pasties. Because of the way the front is on the bottom part, I didn't like the way it looked with sandals so I definitely think it needed pretty heels. I wish I could have worn it since it was so expensive to rent, but there were just too many issues with the way it fit me.

Fit as described. Does cut low on the chest, so be prepared to show things off, but was still flattering, and not too much. The slit also comes quite high, especially when sitting. This is not the dress I originally ordered, but the size sent fit great, and it ended up working great for my event.

Thick silky material - you can tell it's a quality dress. The straps were a little long so I'd recommend some double-sided tape just in case.

This dress was overnighted to me, because my original selection didn't fit well. It fit like a glove. My chest is 34D and I got away with just wearing pasties. The dress just grazed the floor with 5 inch heels so it was perfect! I wore dress to a black tie wedding on New Years. I'm not sure what a 40R equates to in US sizing but I normally wear a 6.

I wore this dress to a wedding in Manhattan and it was perfect for the occasion - sexy yet sophisticated. Like other reviewers mentioned, the straps are long but it's easy to fix or it can work for the very low cut Kate Hudson sort of look.

I cannot even describe how glamorous this dress is. I don't think that you need to wear a tight dress to feel sexy and boy did this dress prove me right. I have an athletic build and a straight torso, and the dress gave the illusion of an hour-glass figure (while letting me eat whatever I wanted at the wedding). The slit also gives a lot of dimension to the dress. I ordered a long, as that was all that was available, and at 5'7'' I paired it with 3 inch sandals and it swept the floor, but not in a bad way. However, anyone under 5'5'' I wouldn't recommend ordering a long. Also, in terms of ordering, this is French sizing, not European sizing, so size accordingly. I only wish the navy color of the dress read in pictures more, because it looks like an all black dress. I wore a strapless U-shaped sticky bra, just because I wanted a little more "oomph" for the girls, but smaller busted girls could easily get away with nothing or pasties. For a fuller bust, I recommend a u-shaped bra. Pair this dress with simple earrings or a delicate bracelet. Let your decolletage do the talking!

Beautiful gown but size down. I was told the 38L would be a size US4, but actually is was a US6. I'm 5'5" and wore 3" heels. The "long" was too long for me but no other size was available. Due to the cut of the dress being slit in the front, I was able to wear it however. I should have ordered 36R.

This dress is gorgeous; thick fabric and vibrant colors. I received this as one of three replacement dresses for a set of dresses that weren't returned on time. I have a large chest and a short waist--this dress would have required all sorts of rigging for me to wear it without flashing the masses. If you're longer waisted or have a smaller bust, this dress could be a showstopper for you.

loved the dress and most of the fit, however, the sleeves kept falling off my shoulders. I already felt like I would be exposing too much with the low cut. Did not feel comfortable wearing with the possibility of sleeves sliding off. I wish it fit better on top bc it is a beautiful dress.

I originally ordered the 38 thinking that designer sizing runs small. This dress runs large. I was swimming in the 38. Luckily, RTR has great customer service and I was able to get the 36 in time for my event. The dress is really flattering and classy, the middle slit is high and can make sitting challenging. The straps are long for the top, so I had to do some adjustments. Overall the dress was comfortable and beautiful.

The fit was perfect. It came right to the floor and looked awesome. It was the perfect mix of sexy and classy. One of the dresses did arrive missing a clasp in the back, so I had to wear the smaller size, but it ended up working out as that one looked better.

This is my second rental. This order arrived ONE DAY LATE and closed to the time I supposed to leave for my weeding destination. You can imagine my nerves and my point of crisis. Thanks customer services they offer me the alternative of a replacement, but nothing on my size!!!! Oh and they offer me 15%!!! Hahaha!!!! A joke! I was hysterical with my agony! and I chatted back and forward for hours until my actual package finally arrived! My heart was running faster for hours last Friday!!! Crazy! I rented this dress for a black-tie wedding for Memorial Day weekend. I received the dress on Friday night in DC for a Sunday wedding in NYC and was traveling and visiting friends and family that weekend. When I received the dress I did notice that the make of the dress is worth every penny. It was so beautiful, well made, well designed and sooo unassumingly sexy. My boyfriend thought it was an absolute stunner of a dress. However, the top was bit too loose but given I had no option and it was soo expensive to rent, I decided to wear it anyway. (I also did not have any time to switch out the dress.) Long story short, if you have a small frame and small bust, consider fashion tape! Throughout the night, I was so worried that my goods would fall out I ended up wearing a shawl (in the heat). If you have the time to try this on and make sure it fits right - it is magical. Lastly, I'm 5'4 and the dress was a bit long but since it overlays nicely in the front, it's a bit smaller in the front with a beautiful, beautiful small train in the back. Also don't let the picture foul you - that slit opens up when you walk and sit - I felt very much like Angelina Jolie posing with my leg out.

I loved this dress. It was sexy and elegant, but different. It was very flattering and the fabric had a nice weight and a luxurious feel. It is difficult to wear a bra with this dress, I have a low cut, low back bra that worked pretty well. I would say my one knock on the dress is that the front is cut very low and the slit in the bottom goes up very high, so I felt a little exposed. Also it was very air conditioned in the room where my event was, so I was cold. The navy blue reads as black in some pictures, but the color in person is really beautiful.
