Thin fabric, adjustable straps allow for good fit.. need someone to help to get the right fit. Loved the slit in the leg

I wad so happy with this dress. Wish I could post multiple angles, but I felt the back deserved the most credit. Didn't have to wear spanx in the dress to feel my best, as the waistband/shape of dress really complimented my waistline. I ended up wearing an XS instead of S because the bust was a bit too big for someone sized 32A. I never wear floor length dresses , so I am happy to say that I felt so beautiful wearing this dress!

Loved this dress so much I want to buy it? Even though that defeats the purpose of renting. So fun and interesting despite the immediately simple look. Highly recommend. I wore this with no bra and had no issues with coverage. No built in support so be prepared for some extra dance moves if you go that route!

I am 4'10 and this length was to die for! The material is a stretchy velvet, but it did not look inexpensive. I got a 4 and a 6, went with the 4 as it was more curve hugging. A sticky bra was used with this dress and worked out perfect. Adjustable back lacing is amazing. I am very satisfied with RTR as this is my first time using the service. The girl I am pictured with also used the service for this event and we both couldn't speak more highly of our dresses! I could def see myself using RTR again.

One of those classic "little black dresses" that is timeless. Absolute all-around perfect fit (length & all) for a petite frame ! 5' feet 105 lbs ...Such a lightweight comfy wear & style. Velvet material w/ high side slit, open back an delicate straps, reveals sexy approach yet covers in all the right places. I loved this dress so much I will be purchasing. This is my order on #RTR & thanks to the success of my first choice dress fitting incredible I am officially hooked !

I'm 5'2" and have a small chest, this dress fit perfect. A slightly thicker material perfect for formal affairs. I was at a Gala with my company team who went on stage to receive awards so I needed to make sure that I would not trip. I ended up tying the straps in a halter and then criss cross to avoid the dress falling down which worked fantastic for after party dancing like crazy. The slit was sexy. The back was sexy. Classy dress.

I'm pear shaped so many dresses don't fit both my bust and hips, however, the XS has plenty of give for my hips but wasn't gaping on my chest. It was so comfortable and the straps can be adjusted which is always a plus. As some other reviewers mentioned, the dress velvet striped with mesh so it can be see through in certain lighting. I wore this for a night NYE wedding so no issues being see through there. I would just caution not to wear for a day time event.

Great fit, normally I wear XS and the XSR was perfect! I'm also rather short but even with my heels off the length was great. Would definitely rent again!

This dress was amazing, so flattering and SO comfortable! The velvet really elevated it but the silhouette was playful and not overdone. I wore shape wear and a sticky bra, but in hindsight the bra was probably not needed. One of my favorite rentals thus far!!

I would say this runs a tad big. Fun dress for a formal event, but it wasn't as fitted as I would have liked. Went a little longer than I thought considering I normally always order "long" version. It looked ankle length in the photo, and it was definitely there for the "regular" version.

Fit is great for girls who have curves. I always wear a small on top (size 2-6) and a medium in skirts and pants (27-28, 6) and this dress fit wonderfully.

Didn't end up wearing this to the wedding but it was a really cute option. I found it needed support from a strapless bra but was impossible due to the open back so stick on boobs will be a must for this dress if you want more support.

This dress was super cute and functional. The straps are adjustable as you tie them in the back. I usually don't wear tight fitting anything ever but this dress worked. It had a nice sparkle to it and was like a light velvet/corduroy material. A few things I would be mindful of are 1) the material is fairly thin and 2) I was able to wear shape wear underneath although the back of the dress falls low enough to where it can peak through if the shape wear is too high

This was my first experience with RTR so I wanted to play it safe, and this dress was exactly what I was hoping. There's not much of a shape to it (it cinches at the middle but isn't very tight on the top or bottom), and it's a lovely velvety material that's super comfortable. There's a slit and an open back that made it more interesting than just a plain black dress.

This dress is simple and sleek. The back is super sexy as is the slit up the thigh but still feels like enough coverage to be semi formal. I sang in this dress and danced. Id easily rent it again

I thought this dress was going to be way long on me because I'm only 5ft, but it hit the ground perfectly with heels. I loved the back and the straps were adjustable- I could tie it tighter or looser to make the arm bands fit. Fabric was super soft and I was comfy all night.

Rented for a mid-Nov wedding. I thought it might be too fancy but I went for it and so glad I did! The dress is gorgeous and I felt like a million bucks. It's velvet but doesn't have any sheen and looks high end. Got so many compliments and was super comfy all night. I forgot my backless bra so I went braless and it was fine, but If you have a larger bust you'll need a backless bra. I'm 5'2 and wore about 3.5" heels and the length was perfect.

Wore this for my 30th birthday party at a bar on the lower east side. I LOVED this dress. Can't stress it enough. It's so flattering. The material is so soft and the ribbing gives it a little something different than the standard black slinky dress. The medium and large both fit, but I ended up going with the large because it was more flattering around the stomach and the open back. The tie situation in the back is a little tricky, if you have someone else there to assist that helps but you can def do it yourself anyway. Not something that bothers me, but you can't wear a normal bra with this. I didn't wear anything but otherwise you'd need the stick-on type. Considering buying this one since I got so many compliments. 10/10

I ordered this dress as a backup and when I received my dresses, although I really loved the original one I was going to wear, I tried this one on and fell in love! This fits so well and accentuates all the right places. I wore it to prom and got compliments all night. Wish I could keep it forever!!

I love the velvet and 90's vibe from this style! Running true to size, I would recommend getting your usual size as your primary and going one size up for the backup size. The stretchy fabric allows for comfortable room in the midsection and definitely comfortable room in the hip area as well. This style is great for any cup size and can be worn with a strapless bra. This is a floor length dress so if you are around my height, 5,4, I would definitely recommend going for the regular in regards to length. Again, I am obsessed with the super soft material of this dress. I would pair this with a pair of black heels, pretty, delicate jewelry and a metallic, fun handbag.

This dress has the perfect slit! It could be see through if wearing in a bright place, because it's rubbed and between each rib there is a semi-see through strip. Completely unnoticeable really. But I almost didn't rent this dress because someone else said it was see through. Have no fear! You would really have to be looking very closely or be standing behind the sun to see through. Easily one of my favorite rentals. Because of the velvety ribbed material you could dress this down and wear cute flats. I dressed it up with heels and a fur coat and it was a complete showstopper. Very comfortable. You can adjust the straps if you want more coverage in front. I've got a larger bust and wore it pretty loose on top. It isn't floor length, so if you're y'all, and I tend to wear heels - it will only be ankle length.

I absolutely loved the cut, open back, and velvet ribbing of this dress. Unfortunately i felt that i couldnt wear until it was dark out because it's definitely see thru! Also i imagined it would hit me as a midi dress but it was basically full length.

I didn't take any good pictures in this, but I LOVED it. It was so simple and one of the most comfortable things I've ever worn to a wedding. Lots of stretch, so I think it would work for a lot of different body types.

I WISH I had a good photo of me in this dress but you can't win them all. I can't even tell you all how many compliments I got. The best part was, I felt as good as the compliments I was getting. The adjustable straps were KEY. I'm on the short side (5'1) so the dress was a little long. You're able to tie it up a bit if you don't mind how that'll look. Comfort first on the dance floor though, right? I'm small-busted and got away with not wearing anything. I imagine it could be a bit more see-through if you're bustier but I didn't fill out the top so it was a non-issue. Am seriously looking to buy this dress to keep if that's any indication...

Wore this on a bachelorette trip. Simple but sexy. I did not have a sticky bra, so I went without anything and had no issues. The back is beautiful and the adjustable tightness makes it easy to fit at the top. The velvety material is really nice and the dress hung on my body, but didn't hug in the unflattering places.

A good staple for a formal event. The dress is incredibly comfortable, and I appreciate that it's adjustable (with the back tie). I loved the leg slit. A little longer than anticipated (almost floor length on my 5' 7" frame), but would still show off a pair of heels.

The dress is definitely see through. it's really comfortable and. can be dressed up, but need something underneath, which is tough bc of how high the slit is. Might rent another time to dress the look down. Would be a fun look with a long sleeve tee under and some chunky boots.

This would be good for an event requiring you to wear black. But it felt a little plain to me. The slit was a nice fit but would've like it maybe be a bit shorter? Wouldn't rent again :/

I thought it would be a simple black sexy dress, but I struggle to put it on. There is a strap and there is a back strap, which gets intertwined and eventually gave up.
