This dress was so comfortable and I received a ton of compliments!

First, the notes say that the dress runs small and advise you to order a size down. I normally get a 4 and a 6 from RTR, so I got a 2 and a 4. I could barely breathe in the 4, and didn't have time to return and get a new size. I'm thin and athletic, but on the curvy side, so perhaps it would have fit someone with smaller hips and bust who wears the same size. RTR overnighted a 6 and an 8 for $13, and when we found that UPS didn't deliver to the remote wedding location, sent it to the bridal shop in the nearby town. They were fast, efficient, and completely professional. Second, the dress was GORGEOUS! The color was amazing, and the way it fit was very flattering. I was getting compliments all night. It was comfortable, I could move easily, and could wear a normal bra under it. So I highly recommend this dress for any occasion, but if you are larger than a C, go a size UP, not down as the notes recommend.

I have rented almost 10 times from RTR for different events but this time was the real testament. The original dress that I ordered was damaged beyond repair and I got an email from RTR about the need to switch. I was flying out to the wedding and planned on having the dresses delivered to the hotel. I only had two hours to choose another dress before the shipment went out from RTR. Our work computer has a block on it and wouldn't allow me to view pictures of the dresses which is how I ALWAYS decide. Needless to say, the RTR stylist chose two dresses and I chose two dresses and they mailed them all to my hotel the next day. All of the dresses arrived and this is the one that I chose which fit perfectly. I read the reviews and figured that the 4 would fit best which it did as the dress does run big. I am a little under 5'4" and wore 3+ inch heels and I thought the length was perfect for the look. It shows your curves in a silhouette fashion which is flattering without a lot of leg. Spanx still needed :-) if you usually wear them.

The dress ran a little long for a shorty like me, but in heels it was alright. The dress was beautiful and elegant for a spring wedding. I received many compliments, especially on the color.

I was looking for a festive dress that offered simple elegance. ( I also wasn't sure what the dress code for the office christmas party would be when the invite said "wear your festive duds.") The dress fit perfectly and was totally fun to wear. Big plus for not having to purchase a special bra or specific shoes (I just wore nude.) Also, a great match for a redhead. The fabric was more forgiving than I would have thought, no need for shapewear. The dress also performed well on the dance floor! I can't wait to use RTR for my next fancy event.

The fit was perfect. I'm a 10/12 and the 10 was nice and snug, but still classy. There was enough give to get down on the dance floor and everyone complimented me on the color. My only regret is that I did not wear spanx, so I was sucking it in. But it was way too hot for extra layers! This photo isn't the best, but I figured I would add it. It's not full length, but I am 6'0 and it was perfect for a wedding! As usual RTR gets it right!

Fits true to size, very flattering, received a lot of complements!

I initially thought to wear the 10 as it fit properly in the bust, but it was such a sack around the waist that I would have had to use a belt or something to give it shape. The 8 was much better everywhere other than in the bust where it was quite tight. If you've got a larger bust, you'll either need to put up with the flattened uni-boob look or you should look at other options.

I had to wear the size 8 for my hips, but the top was fine in the 6&8. Was very impressed for my first experience.

This dress was very flattering and looked good all night long (no wrinkling or other problems). It was easy to dance in and moved with my body so it didn't create any awkwardness on the dance floor. The color is beautiful and it was elegant and understated and felt appropriate for the wedding. I was very happy to find something here that worked for an old broad like me. I believe that I saved money by renting rather than buying something I would likely wear only once, though this dress was so nice that I hated to return it. Thank you Rent the Runway for including dresses for those of us no longer in our leggy 20's!

I wore this for my bridal shower--I loved the color and upper detail. The dress wasn't particularly form-fitting from the torso down, and I would have preferred to have more of a shape. However, it was still a fantastic rental.

I got this dress in sizes 4 and 6, and ended up wearing the larger size because the event was very conservative. However, the dress does run true to size - the size 4 fit nicely and hugged in the right places. You can wear with a regular bra.

This was a great dress for a full-busted gal like me. I tried on the 12 and the 14; both fit well, but since I had a long drive to the wedding, and a long drive home, I opted to be a tad more comfy in the dress. Received many compliments! Loved the ease of returning the dress as well!

Requested a size 8, but the dress was too big. The size 6 fit better and slightly snug by the hip/thigh area.

This dress is a great fit for girls who are tall with a bit more up top. Dress hugged in all of the right places and was very comfortable, a great pick!

All in all I was able to make the dress work. I rent from RTR often and always either where a 4 or 6....usually both fit actually. In this case both were very big. The dress would likely for someone better that has a more curvey body. It seemed to fit me like a big box. Once I added the black belt it worked just fine because it provided some shape. Even tho the fit was not great I still received many compliments on the dress. The color was great and the length hit me right below the knee, which is what I was looking for for my event.

I wore this to a wedding I was officiating. I wanted something understated to not detract from pictures of the bride, yet something that I could look good in as well. This dress was exactly that. The neckline accents were casual and fit the bill. The dress ran large -- I usually wear a 6, and the 4 was ok, but the 2 was more fitted and flattering -- but otherwise hung perfectly.

The dress runs true to size but it is not forgiving, so Spanx would probably be a good idea. I didn't wear do that as it was 90 degrees outside, which is something to consider. There were lots of compliments for the dress. I'm 6'1" so it can be hard to find dresses. The experience of using Rent the Runway was completely positive. Everything arrived earlier than planned.

Absolutely gorgeous dress!!! I felt so pretty in this dress - I wore it to work and got a million compliments. I would recommend spanx with it because the fabric is a little thin.

The material, cut, color and detail on the neck were just fabulous! I wore it to a rehearsal dinner and I had so many compliments on how beautiful I looked. A dress can be beautiful but it's important for it to compliment the wearer and not over power her. Totally recommend this dress. Only tiny compliant I have is when the time starts to return a dress or item: I usually get the dress I've ordered very late in the day yet I'm charged for the entire day. Normally no problem but If the return day is a Sunday, here in OK, you can't put a package in the Post Office bin until Mon. morning, then it doesn't get picked up until after 5 that day.

Now to start off, Spanx are a must in this dress! The neckline is quite flattering and works very well with a shorter or choker style necklace. The color was a perfect holiday party contrast to the typical little black dress.

Fit well, but too long for my 5'2" frame. Would look better on someone taller, but a great fit!

This dress is beautiful. I loved the fabric and the color, unfortunately it runs a little small so I couldn't wear it to my event. Thankfully I had a RTR backup! I would definitely rent this one again, once I'm sure I can fit it ;)

This dress was perfect for my event at the opera! This was sent to me as my backup dress. At first, I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about the dress from the photo, but it is STUNNING in person. I loved the color and got compliments all night. I am also very tall and it was perfect for a semi-work event -- it hit just above the knee. I definitely recommend!

The dress fit very elegantly! The only problem is that it had a small opening on a side seem (that made me uncomfortable). The color was truly amazing!

Wore the smaller of the 2 sizes I got and it zipped right up! It was comfortable and went great with strappy sandals and simple jewlery.

The fabric is a beautiful crepe (but I did have to get it pressed before wearing). The color was a lovely emerald. I got many compliments on the color against my fair skin/dark hair. Based on other reviews, I got the 2 and the 4 to try. The 2 would have been knock-out perfect on me, but was a touch too tight across the bust. I wore the dress to a work function, so wanted to err on the conservative side. Problem was the 4 looked like a burlap sack on me and came down below my knees. It definitely runs big. I ended up belting it with a caramel colored belt and matching shoes and it really worked out nicely. Pearl stud earrings, very simple. I love the way the dress looks on the model, but you'd need some serious tailoring to create that waist and flared skirt look. If I bought the dress, that's just what I'd do.

I rented the dress for a clients wedding. The dress was easy to wear and I felt it looked good the whole evening.

This dress looked better than I expected, and I was really pleased with it. The color is fantastic, and I was complimented on that several times. I usually wear a size 6-8, but the size 6 looked a little too big & shapeless, so I tried the size 4 which fit really was very flattering around my waist & hips. My only complaint is that, since I have broad ribcage & shoulders and size 36C bust, the fit around my shoulders was fairly tight. This wasn't a dancing event, so I didn't have to worry about moving my upper body too much, but it might've been difficult were I at a wedding. Overall very lovely dress. It worked great at a professional event.

I wore the 10, and I am 5'8. Dress is very comfortable and very sophisticated. It was a tad tight across the chest, but I thought the 12 would be too loose. I love renting dresses!

I got a lot of compliments on this dress. it was very flattering. The only drawback was it's length. I am 5'4" and it came below my knees.I would have preferred for it to hit my legs as shown in the picture of the model

I rented this for a wedding of a professional acquaintance, and it was perfect. Very classy and conservative. The back was not as shown, however; it was a traditional zip-up sheath style in back, but it still looked very nice. I have reddish hair and pale skin, and the color was very flattering. I usually wear an 8, but the dress gaped around the arms and in the bust. The six fit me perfectly.

This definitely runs true to size, maybe a bit on the larger size of true, but still true. I'm right between a 12 and a 14 and I sized up in order to accommodate my bust. One note - the dresses that I received are different than the one pictured. The one on the site has a V back with more draping hanging straight down. The one that I received had the typical high back of a sheath dress and does not have any additional draping. That was a little bit disappointing, but certainly does not change how well made and gorgeous the dress is. Great emerald green color, too.

No give in fabric. Yes, sizing up allows a less sausage fit across hips and bottom, but the larger size adds an unflattering amount of length to the skirt.
