Loved this dress! Wore it for a black tie optional wedding and it was amazing! So fun and so many compliments! Short but not too short! It was comfortable and so pretty! For so well and works with any type of bra. Only complaint the zipper kept on coming down- glad husband and friends were looking out for me on that! Besides that it’s a keeper!

Fun to wear. People like touching the reversible sequins to its somewhat interactive lol. Great for holiday parties.

This dress fits like a glove. It's stretchy and forgiving. I love love love it. It was almost too short but I made it work with boots. With heels it may have been too short. But I love this dress. Not something I need to own but I would definitely rent it again!!!

The material was just gorgeous! It was so comfy and wasn’t heavy or itchy at all. I loved that you could change the sequins to black or silver. As for the fit I wore the L but had the XL for backup. I’m 5’7 with curves! The L gave me a better shape BUT was really short (second photo for reference) the XL was better in length but obviously a little roomier. I decided to go with L but what ever your preference both looked great! I read in some of the reviews that the zipper kept coming undone. It did the same on me a few times but nothing bother some. Overall, I just LOVED this dress so much I’d really consider buying it!

Shimmery, reversible black-metallic sequins make this party frock so much fun. All the quality construction elements you'd expect from Elizabeth and James are there--substantial lining, tight seamwork and no loose sequins. The dress has a nice stretch and weight to it as well so that it drapes beautifully without the sausage effect. Loved the small pads in the shoulders that give a little 80s nod and help lift the bodice. Sequins often look so cheap or cheesy and that's not the case with this dress. Go for it, party girl!

I got so many compliments on this dress! Surprisingly comfortable other than my hair getting caught every now and then in sequins. The zipper was annoying;kept sliding down. I just took a safety pin to keep it up. It was a little short but I am 5'4 so it was not too much of a biggie. Warning to my taller gals!

It was an outside wedding reception on a chilly night so I was very happy to have this option due to the thickness! The dress has shoulder pads in them and they were a little larger than I would have liked. The length is short but since I wore tights and black booties it worked!

This dress is everything I wanted for an NYE party at the Drake in Chicago. Sexy, classy, and sparkles galore! Great quality. Based on other reviews i sized up from my normal size just to add a little length. The dress was still very short but it was only apparent if you bend over or lift your arms over your head. only downside is the zipper kept falling. Luckily I was able to get a sewing kit from the concierge to safety pin the zipper - otherwise it came undone any time I rounded my shoulders. PACK A SAFETY PIN FOR THE ZIPPER. Beautiful dress.

Dress was lined which was very nice, sequins made the dress a bit heavy. I would say the dress was on the short side, so be ready to show some leg. Very fun dress for the holidays, a birthday, or night out on the town! Only issue I experienced with the dress, was the back zipped up, however there was no hook at the top to secure it closed, so a few times the dress slowly came unzipped a bit in the back.

I wore this dress to a Studio54 inspired event and loved the mini dress. I have a bit of a butt on me, which I feel like made the dress a bit shorter. The dress had some stretch to it so I didn't feel like I would suffocate in it from being tight. I'd definitely get this dress again.

Great dress! I wore this for a sparkles only bachelorette! It runs large and is not form fitting. This is the exact look I wanted though because I paired it with OTK boots and didn't want everything to be tight all over. The sequins are reversible from black to silver. The dress is kind of heavy and has shoulder pads. I am 5'3, 135 normally a size 6. It does run short and will rise a lot when you raise your arms. I am so happy I picked this dress

This dress was SO much fun to wear. I rented it for my work holiday party and the sleeves and neckline were perfect. The sequins aren't super sparkly so I didn't feel like a disco ball. This dress is VERY short though, you can see I added tights for coverage as it was a work party.

This dress is SHORT. I am not a tall girl and I felt it was short on me. That being said, this is a stunner. So many compliments. There are shoulder pads which I liked, it was very structured and warm for NYE and a great cropped sleeve. Loved the reversible sequins. This is a must rent for a holiday party.

My first RTR experience and could NOT be happier. The reviews were so helpful. This dress in my opinion is perfect for cooler weather because it is very short but even at 44 years old I felt comfortable wearing it with tights and high heels without feeling inappropriate at all. I don't typically wear short things but other people that recommended black tights were right that it helps. The dress because of the sequins is a bit heavy (which I think is a GOOD thing b/c I never worried the dress would ride up at all. It also made me feel warmer on a cold New England night for my husband's work party. I will wear this dress again in a heartbeat. Two small negatives is that another reviewer was right that the zipper for some reason kept creeping down despite the fact I wasn't even dancing. (It needs a clasp I guess). If you are going to be moving a lot or dancing I don't think this is a great dress but if you're going to be doing more standing at a cocktail party I think it's stunning and I received so many compliments and it was a standout for sure. Very comfortable!

This was not the dress I originally ordered, so I was surprised to find it when I opened my bag. At first I was worried it was going to be too flashy for an anniversary dinner and symphony concert. But I ended up loving it! I received SO MANY compliments on it! Fortunately the symphony was playing David Bowie music, so it ended up being appropriate. It was also VERY comfortable, which is not common with sequin dresses. Also, the length was GREAT on my short 5' 2" frame. One thing to note which you will see in all of the customer photos, the print is quite varied from dress to dress. Some are heavier on the silver (like mine), some heavier on the black and some a good mix. Just something to keep in mind, it will likely not look exactly like the product page photo. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved this dress. Wore it last night to a friend's wedding & received compliments from friends & strangers. People couldn't stop touching me, it made for great conversation. It's definitely short but you need that to balance out the high cut neck & long sleeves. My legs looked amazing - a phrase I've never uttered before in my life. Seriously, RTR, can I buy this dress from you? Otherwise I might go broke repeatedly renting it from you... Great first experience, looking forward to more fun with RTR dresses.

I rented this dress for a wedding. Got a L and XL to be safe. Both fit, but the XL gave a little more room to move! It is short so you must bend like a lady if necessary! Do not bend over at the waist unless you want everyone seeing your booty :) it wasn't too heavy even though it's all sequins. It changes its look constantly because they're double sided! So many compliments throughout the night!

The sheath was a comfortable fit. The length was perfect for me but I imagine it would be really short on a much taller person.

The only con I would say is that it can get uncomfortable to sit for long periods on the sequins. The pros are that it's sequined but very tasteful and understated. Also, there are shoulder pads in the dress. I have very broad shoulders to begin with so wasn't that happy with shoulder pads (was nervous I looked like a football player) but I think I was the only one who noticed that!

Shift dress that was perfect for NYC

I ordered XS and S just in case -- I wore the XS. Dress is short but wear tights and it's no problem. Great fit in the shoulders. I am small busted and it wasn't too loose up top. So unique.. I got so many compliments!!

I rented this dress for a Mardi Gras Ball. It was perfect. The large fit but I like baggier fits so I ended up wearing the XL. The fact the sequins can go black or silver made this dress. It was so much fun and I got so many compliments. My husband even asked if I could buy the dress.

I am 5'3 size 10 and I was worried that although the dress appeared to be a mini that I may not be on me due to my height. Boy was I wrong. As so many before me have mentioned, if you raise your arms your buns may show...lol. I loved the dress and received compliments throughout the night. This was my second rental from RTR and it will not be my last. Oh, the sequins is two-sided so depending on how your rub the material you can show more black or more silver.

This is a beautiful comfortable dress and I just loved the dual sequence. The only thing is that it is very short but I paired with tights and booties and I did not have a problem with the length. Like most dresses I rent from RTR, I didn't want to return.....and I am digging the new dress bags. It makes the shipping process even easier than before! Customer for life

This dress is so fun. I wore it for a New Year's Eve party and got so many compliments. I usually wear a 2 or 4 and the extra small was perfect. The sequins are double sided so I could make it look more silver or black throughout the night. It is very short and I would not have felt comfortable without tights. When you lift your arms you're very exposed and I'm short, 5'3".

When you rub the dress in different directions, the sequins change colors between silver/white and black--so you can determine what color goes where. I'm a 14 and got an XL and it fit perfectly, if not just a half-size too big. Very comfortable shift dress and not too heavy for being all sequins. VERY short as I'm 5'2" and it was a tad higher than my mid-thigh. I'm obsessed and HIGHLY recommend!!!

It fit a little tightly in the shoulders and arms, but I have broad shoulders. Otherwise it was a perfect fit.

The dress is a "shift" dress, so it runs big. I suggest sizing down.... although it is very short so be prepared to have a lot of leg showing. It is a really fun dress - very unique - and the sequins are black on one side and silver on the other, so you can change the "design" with your hand. I loved it and would absolutely rent again!

Fit was great and a bit short but worked perfectly with the blackout tights.

I was afraid it would be too short for me when I tried it on but this being Minnesota it was totally appropriate to pair it with leggings and booties and the length of the dress ended up being perfect. My only complaint was that there is no hook and eye in the back to keep the zipper from coming down- we rigged a simple safety pin to keep the zipper closed; worked like a charm. My absolute favorite thing about this dress is its customization! It ended up being quite the conversation piece being able to change the look and color of the dress with the two-colored sequins! Absolutely loved it and felt like a million bucks all night!

This dress was extremely comfortable (except when you sit on the sequins at the hem). I got a ton of compliments on it and the sequins are 2 sided, so if you want more of a black than silver look, just move your hand over them and vice versa. Absolutely loved it. Loved the two sides sequins and the way the dress fit. Really beautiful, rich look. But at 5'7" it was exceptionally short, so I was constantly aware of potentially flashing my tush with one wrong move.
