This dress is beautiful. It fits like a glove and really accentuates the body. The only caveat is that the entire circumference on the hem is falling down. I had to use dressmakers pins to keep it up. The lining throughout is ivory (not white) and was very noticeable in contrast to the predominantly black skirt. But again, the dress is REALLY great. I received tons of compliments and felt amazing in it.

I wore this to my black and while themed bday party. It was a cute dress and I got several compliments. It hit a couple inches above the knee and was the perfect length for me - I would imagine it might be too short for taller girls.

Ahhh I'm in love with this dress. This was a replacement after a different rental (Allison Parris Down The Middle Dress) didn't fit. I was afraid it would be a little boring for our romantic night out, but it was perfect. This dress was shorter than I'm used to, but otherwise it was so comfortable and effortless to wear. It's rare with 34DDDs that I find something so comfortable without wearing a bra! The flared skirt is a lot of fun, though as you can see in the picture the hem has fallen out a bit. As other reviewers have suggested, I was going to tape it up before going out, but forgot. Hoping RTR will put it on clearance at some point :)

Elizabeth James definitely runs small for my body type, but sizing up worked out perfectly! I wore the dress to work and then a family dinner and then (with a few touches) transformed this into a 'Queen of Hearts' costume during the same night. I looked and felt great!

This dress was AMAZING! So appropriate for a wedding whether its more casual or a black tie event. It was comfortable, easy to wear and so flattering. Elizabeth and James runs really small from my experience because I am a usually a size two but the size four fit me perfectly. I am athletic in build and this did wonders for my legs. I would recommend this to anyone of any shape and size - I received a ton of compliments.

This dress has a small amount of stretch so my daughter wore the size 4. The 6 also fit well, with little difference.

This dress was perfect for the semi-formal evening wedding I attending this weekend. The dress fit great and was the perfect length for my petite frame. The hem was coming out a little in my dress as other reviews have mentioned. Overall, I was very happy with the dress even though this was my backup choice. I'd wear it again!

As the other comments say, this dress does run small but the second size fit well. There was an issue with the particular dress I wore. I guess the liner had dropped in it and the hem was messed up, so that needs to be fixed. Overall though, I loved it.

Even though I sized up, it was still a bit tight. It is very short. Leggings or tights were definitely needed. Nice dress for everyday.

I had originally rented a Herve ledger that was a bit too adventurous on my part so I drove to Vegas and exchanged for this one in their limited selection small Store. But I loved it. A little Snug but made it work. The Hem was coming a bit undone as you can see in photo but no one really noticed. Would love to try Other dresses by same Designer

I wore this for a formal event that I was working. I'm a 4/6 petite and the dress was a bit on the tighter side; I wore Spanks with it. I am 5'2 but this dress was still quite short on me and I had to be careful not to bend over--I wouldn't recommend it for taller girls. As others have said, the hem does poke out a bit, which was my main complaint. I used some safety pins to fix it but it still showed during the night. The back sometimes bunched up due to the extra fabric (alas, the plight of the petite girl) but it wasn't a big deal. I got several compliments on the dress--my boyfriend loved it--and it was fairly comfortable. The white color is more of a cream.

Very comfortable material, and the black material happens to hide a few sins - tummy and hips...my only reservation was the bottom hem puffed out a little bit on one side, otherwise I recommend this dress. I wore it for Thanksgiving with the fam.

One of the best dresses I've rented. I put a black top under it to wear to work. Everyone was obsessed. Everyone. Fit so well and was just adorable. Very flattering and a thicker material. Does not run small fit wise like I'm told most Elizabeth and James does. This is my first Elizabeth and James experience and I just rented two more bc I love it so much. The dress was one the shorter size and the hem was falling is my only small complaint. The quality assurance for rent the runway has failed a few times as of late.

Great fit and flare dress. I usually wear size 6 but I find I'm an 8 in all Elizabeth and James dresses. Tons of compliments, fun flirty length, and great for casual or dressy event!

The dress is flattering for petite women. I wore this to work with a cardigan and heels but was able to also dress it down with a pair of Birkenstocks. The zipper was tough to open and close but RTR associates assured me that the zipper was not broken. I would rent this dress for other occasions!

i'm typically btwn a 2 and a 4 but prefer getting the 6 for E&J dresses because they run a bit small. the 4 def fits, but the 6 leaves room for a sizable meal. this dress is very slimming and the material is thick, but not overly warm. it's great for all seasons and can be dressed up or down. really great dress, would highly recommend for work, dinner date, etc. incredibly comfortable, too. it was a few inches above my knee, so beware if you're taller! i found that regular bra straps would peek out at times and wore this without a bra and it held everything in well! razorback or strapless wld work, too.

This dress is very short and a great cut! I absolutely loved it. It is very tight at the waist seam but overall very slimming. A wonderful simply sexy dress.

Wore this to a fall wedding & it was beautiful! Very thick fabric so it can get warm. Shorter than I expected but it worked well! I loved the stretch to the fabric & the flattering fit. Conservative yet a stand out dress.

i'm typically btwn a 2 and a 4, but decided to wear a 6 because it looks more professional. i'm only 5'3" and the dress is almost mid thigh on me so so getting away with wearing it at work means wearing a looser size. i choose to wear it without a bra, but could easily have worn a regular bra. this dress is comfortable, cut extremely well, and gives you a great figure. the design is unique without being too loud. note the website makes it look like a black and white dress, but in person it's more of a cream, which i actually like better because i paired it with light brown suede boots. overall, i will definitely be ordering this dress again!

I bought this dress but it's not at all what I expected. It is very short on me and I'm only 5'5". I felt Iike maybe I could wear it as Halloween costume as a cheerleader outfit. It's a super cute dress but definitely for a younger lady.

The dress was for a middle school dance. The dress edges were uneven because the right side seam of the bottom of the dress was undone. Quality could have been better and should have been checked before mailing it but it was still a cute dress.

Beautiful classic dress that is super flattering if you have a small natural waist. But definitely runs small! I usually wear a 4, sometimes a 2, and I ended up with the 6. This was a super fun dress for a work holiday party. It's very classy looking while still being fun and flirty. I'm in between a 4 and a 6 usually but got the 6 and even then it was pretty form fitting. A big meal would have definitely made it feel tight. But otherwise very comfortable and flattering.

Fun to wear because it gives you a waist and there's flair out at the bottom. If it was any shorter I wouldn't have worn it to work. Thought it was a little tight for size 6, but got used to the fit. There's a weird part on the bottom hem that sags down- don't know if that's intentional or not, but I tried to tape it up so hem would be symmetrical. Overall, I enjoyed this dress as part of my Unlimited closet. :)

As other reviews have mentioned, the hem falls and it looks messy. With a few pins at the waist to pull up the lining you can keep this from happening. Besides that design flaw it's a really great dress.

I love this dress and the understated design. I chose to pair it with platform, pink suede heels, and a zac posen handbag. I felt awesome all night. The 4 fit me perfectly, it was a tad snug in the chest (34C), so larger chests might need to size up. The only issue with this dress is the hem. As others have noted, the hem falls, revealing the lining and ruining the look of the dress. It seems like the lining is too long/heavy. To fix this, I pinned the liner of the dress on either side, just above the waist, lifting it up so that the hem stayed as it was meant to. You NEED to pin it, simply ironing it will not fix the problem. This fixed the problem, the pins did not bother me all night, and it looked ama

This dress is pretty cute. The color blocking is interesting, but not super unique.

I wore this for a wedding and it worked out nicely. I wore a 6 (I'm between a 4-6). It was pretty short but I have a good size behind which I think adds to that. The only downfall is that the lining of the dress kept peeking out from underneath. Looked a bit messy. I was able to kind of fix it so that it worked but it was annoying. Overall, though, I felt very classy and the dress was flattering.

I think this is not an isolated issue from what I've seen from other reviews of other dresses in RTR. The hem was loose on several parts of the dress and it was very tight when I usually wear a size 4. Also very short. However I still think the dress is cute. But I had to find something different because of the hem.
