I got this dress for a black tie wedding and it was the PERFECT dress. The dress is very form fitting, so I would recommend sizing up unless you enjoy the feeling of not being able to breathe. You can go sans bra since the material is thick it feels like a sports bra. I liked the material of the dress and loved the movie star vibe of this dress. The only con is that that when you sit that perfect side slit slides waaay up. Other than that, 10 outta 10 would def recommend.

Normally a size 4, but sized up due to reading reviews and the 6L was all that was available and I REALLY wanted to wear this dress! The 6 or 4L probably both would have been fine too! The dress wasn't super tight, it was the tiniest bit lose which made it comfortable. If you prefer a more tighter style go for your normal size. The length was perfect for me 5'6" and 3 inch heels. It has some stretch but isn't super stretchy. Overall a really good option. I absolutely loved the dress.

Absolutely stunning and elegant dress. It's definitely a head turner. I got compliments all night. I went bra-less as the dress tapers in and I didn't want to be adjusting them out of sight. True to size, but having wider hips you may want to size up since it was a little snug only when sitting. Lovvvvved this dress! Highly recommended esp if you're going for a Jessica Rabbit look!

I LOVE this dress! I agree with other reviews - don't be self-conscious about getting a bigger size! I'm typically a 26-28" waist and ended up wearing the 8R with this dress. It fit perfectly - hugged all the right places without being uncomfortably tight. It's such a nice dress! I received compliments all night!

Loved this dress! I can comfortably wear an 8 in almost anything, but this dress runs small. It *barely* fit, so maybe size up just to be safe. The slit didn't go up as high as shown in the model pictures, but that was my only complaint

This dress was for my first military ball and I felt so comfortable in the dress! The fabric was thick and stretchy for movement and dancing, the dress was modest enough for the event but sexy enough to draw attention. I had gotten compliments the moment I arrived and my boyfriend at the time was hounded with questions about me. It was hilarious for my first experience at a military ball. The gown is thick and comfortable but I still wore shape wear to smooth out any unsavory lines in my body's profile. The neckline complimented my wider shoulders well and the side cut out tricked the eye into thinking my waist was smaller than it actually was. Would 100% wear this gown again!

My hips are on the larger size. I read others felt sizing up from your normal if you have larger hips & long size for if you're tall/planning to wear high heels. I'm wearing 4in heels here. The 10L was the perfect choice. There was some stretch to the fabric. I wore a racer back bra and used some double sided tape to help. Also a shape wear thong that came just up under my ribs, any higher and it would've stuck out of the cut out. Felt amazing, loved this dress, got tons of compliments!

I loved this dress. It really stands out and made me feel beautiful. My only complaint is that there isn't any stretch. I normally wear a size 2, but the 4 ended up fitting me better, though it was still tight around my butt/thighs and a little loose in the bust. If you're a more bottom-heavy build or you lift weights, I would suggest sizing up a little. Also, if you're really busty, this might be too tight around the bust - I'm somewhat flat (32C/34B) and though it was a little loose, I don't think I could have been any more than a cup size up and not felt constricted.

After going back and forth about renting this dress for formal wedding I finally bit the bullet and ordered. As other reviewers mentioned, the dress does run small so I definitely recommend sizing up (I went up 1 size). I was able to sneak a strapless bra with it only peeking out a few times through the night, which was easily fixed y hiking it back up. I felt like a million dollars in this dress and the number of compliments a got on it were overwhelming but so appreciated! I went with tan shoes based on the images in other reviews (thanks girls!!!) The dress does have a bit of an hour glass shape on its own, so keep that in mind if you have a long torso like me. Since the hip sat a bit closer to my waistline it did want to ride up a bit on me. I honestly think it was something only I could notice. PLEASE do your confidence the biggest favor and get this dress!!

I’m 5’2”, 100 lbs and usually wear an XS or 0 petite. This fit perfectly, with platform stilettos, I definitely needed a 5” heel!

As others stated, the dress runs small. I normally where a 6 so ordered up and it was perfect. Form fitting but not tight. Was able to dance without issue. I was able to sneak a strapless bra on without showing through the peep hole.

I rented this dress for a black tie wedding and it was amazing. It turned a lot of heads and I recieved so many compliments. Also extremely comfortable. It ran a little small and I am happy I went with my backup size (6L). I am normally a 4. I am 5’9” 135lbs and hourglass. The long was perfect with heels. Highly recommend this dress!

Wore this to a gala night! I could've gone with a size 6R but they didn't have my size available for this weekend. I'm 5'6 and weigh 145lbs. I have a curvy shape (chest is a size cup D) and it worked very well for my shape!

Got so many compliments on this dress. It fit so nicely but I ended up going with the 10L because my usual size 8 was too small. Get a longer dress as well if you're taller. The 10L was perfect for being 5'7 with 4 inch heels. Great material and great fit :)

Very form fitting, beware of where it hugs your body. The dress is an eye-catching red color and good to wear in any season (recommend not wearing when it's hot and humid). Received many compliments at the event!

I'm obsessed with this dress! I was looking for something elegant yet sexy with some color for a black tie fall wedding, and this dress did not disappoint! The color is beautifully vibrant and photographs really well, while the slits are understated and provide an appropriate level of sex appeal. I lift regularly and am super self-conscious about my shoulders, but the high neck took the focus off of my broad upper body. This dress is perfect for all athletes and weekend warriors out there! However, I would definitely take everyone's advice and size up liberally! I am typically a 4 and I thought the 8R fit just right. Don't let the numbers hurt your pride ladies, because this dress is form fitting and you want some wiggle room so you can really enjoy your event!

This dress is AMAZING!!!!! I was worried about how it would fit but it literally fit me like a glove! (Didn't even need to wear Spanx!) The material is great, the color is gorgeous, and it's the most perfect mix of both formal and sexy. So received so many compliments and honestly I'd rent it again. If I could afford to buy this dress and keep it in my closet forever, I would. I would wear it to go grocery shopping that's how gorgeous it is. Definitely be sure to get a long if you're taller and plan on wearing heels. I was nearly 6'1" with heels on and it was a great length. I cannot recommend this dress enough. My ONLY complaint is that it was a little tight at the chest, but it still didn't make the dress uncomfortable. Rent this dress! You won't regret it!

I am absolutely in love with this dress. It fits a bit smaller than 4 but still had a little bit of stretch so over the night I was able to move and dance without restriction. The color is a true red and so stunning in person that I may consider purchasing it!!

Loved this Elizabeth and James rental. Wore this to a black tie optional wedding in Newport, RI and I wasn't the only one who knew this would be a great dress 😁. See photo for my twin! I'm on the right and wore the 4L. I'm 5'8" with 3.5 inch heels and the length was perfect. Hem was about a half inch from the floor. Definitely a form fitted dress but the 6L had too much fabric in the stomach. The cut and design of this dress was a great way to show off and create curves. I have an athletic body shape with some muscle so this was a bit tight in my thighs but not enough for me to size up. I don't think I would recommend this dress to D+ cups. I'm a B cup and wore this without a bra. I think we both rocked this dress that evening and would not have changed a thing!

This dress is everything you could ever want. I would size up, however. I’m typically a 6 and the 8 fit like a glove. The fabric is beautiful and almost stretchy which made it so comfortable.

The fit was snug. Typically I wear a 0-2...Being 5'4" and curvy/athletic it was hard to get my bottom in but it was stunning on!

This dress is beautiful and flattering. Like some of the other reviews say, it runs small so order a size up for backup. The long was perfect on me with 3inch heels. You can't wear a bra with it because of the cutout, but I wore stickies which did the trick, and you couldn't see them because the material is thick.

After reading all the reviews, I was worried I wouldn't fit into my true size because everyone said it ran small. I am usually a 4 and a 6 wasn't available for me to rent on the day I needed it. Overall the 4 fit me perfect! I am 5'2 and with heels the dress did not drag at all! It was definitely form fitting but I was so happy with the dress! The material is beautiful! This dress got so many compliments! The length was perfect (however I was wearing a 4 in heel). I generally get petite sizes, but luckily that was not necessary here. The material was also thick enough to where I didn't need to wear any shape wear! Would recommend for anyone looking to make a statement, but also stay classy.

Jaw dropping dress! This is my 2nd Time using rent the runway and again they did not disappoint. I rented this dress for a wedding and I absolutely loved it the only thing that I would say is make sure that you rent according to your height : regular petite or long I'm 51 and I wish That the petite would have been available for this event as I rented the regular and it was too long and the leg slit was just not as flattering as I wanted it to be. However everything was great got many compliments love rent the runway!

I ordered a 4 and 6, I would have ordered a 6 and 8 instead because it's a little tighter than I am used to but the 6 fit beautifully. The dress and lining wasn't too heavy, even in July and the color was definitely a show stopper!

First time to use this site and the bride of the wedding I attended actually suggested I tried it. I'm 5'10 with an athletic build and love form fitting. I read so many reviews and had to order this and I've never been happier. I got SO many compliments on the color and fit of the dress. The material hugged you in all the right areas but was still so comfortable to move and dance. I didn't even have to wear a bra and felt secure. I got the long and wore a 2in heel and it was a great length! Super happy with the experience and look forward to using it again!

Runs small... I’m usually a 2, but the 4 fit perfect. I’m 5ft 3in and it was the perfect length with 3 inch heels. Would live to rent this again!
