One of my favorite RTR dresses! It's sexy and classy at the same time. It's made of a nice thicker material and is very modern with the longer length and cutouts. I'm 5'7" though and I could see this being too long for someone much shorter... Overall, an excellent rental!!

Like usual...I wanted to keep this one. Fit like a glove and the thicker fabric hides everything. I was nervous about the sizing because none of my backup sizes were available, but the 6 fit perfectly - I am small chested so that might have made a difference. Overall, was just what I wanted and I'll definitely rent it again.

Wore this for my 30th birthday dinner. Received tons of compliments. I went up a size because my normal size pulled the slit too far apart and was too tight around the cut-out. The fabric is not bandage-like so don't expect it to hold you in, but it was overall flattering.

The dress is a black ribbed material, but not cheap looking, and some stretch. Fits true to size, and the cutouts work with a strapless bra. It's Fits a bit long for short girls but the slit doesn't make it look too long or too big for a short frame. A great little black dress!

This dress was amazing! I wore the size 8 for the sake of the slit and being comfortable when sitting (I'm 5'11). I received so many compliments and the material was stretchy and so comfortable to dance in, eat all night and take fun photo booth pics :) I will absolutely rent this dress again!

The dress is beautiful, I felt really pretty in this dress. It fit super nicely and was easy to wear for an all night event.

I was worried I'd be too short to pull this off, but I think the slit helps make it great for any height! It's a more daring look than I'm used to, but I absolutely LOVED it and felt like a freakin' FOX. I wish I could buy this dress from RTR! The fit is more true to size than other Elizabeth & James dresses. It's stretchy, comfy and just the best. RENT! You will not be disappointed.

i rent all the time from RTR and this was one of my favorite rentals ever! The fabric was not too thick but thick enough to feel comfortable. the cutout and slit were intriguing but definitely tasteful. received many compliments and i can't wait to rent this dress again!

This dress is amazing! I received tons of comments on how pretty it was. A little snug in the chest but overall beautiful and comfortable.

This dress is a bit out of my comfort zone due to the cut out & slit, but I am so happy I rented it! I was nervous it would be too sexy for a wedding, but it wound up being perfect. The material is very form fitting and snug, but so comfortable. I wore a size 4, and got the 6 as my back up.. The smaller size definitely fit better, the 6 was a little too long for me (i'm 5'2 - typically wear a 2). Since the material is so thick you don't need a bra or tape. I paired this black number with a nude strappy shoe, no jewelry. The neckline of the dress is so great that I didn't want anything to distract from it (and there is the cut out.. so no need to jazz it up more). This dress was great for a wedding, and would be great for other formal events. Perfectly classy and sexy!

I loved this dress but it definitely runs small! I am usually an 8 or 10 in dresses so I got the 8 because it had a little stretch to it. It was pretty tight but looked great! Still, I would recommend sizing up at least one size with this dress. The material has a nice texture to it that you can't really see in the pictures, but it was so cool! The fabric was also thick, so it was warm and functioned like spanx. I loved the cutout and the slit, and got tons of compliments all night. I wore a Nu Bra, but you could definitely wear a racerback bra or no bra and it would be fine.

This dress was amazing. It definitely runs small; I usually wear a 4 but needed the 6. I probably could have even gone up another size. The cutout on the side was perfect. I had to make sure I stood on the correct side of my husband to get it in the picture- otherwise it looks like a plain black dress! The slit in the skirt is very high, and I am a tall girl. Be ready to show some serious leg! Tons of compliments all night, would definitely rent this one again!

The dress fit perfectly. Was a thicker, more forgiving fabric. I did not wear a bra because it showed through the side cutout. Showed just enough skin. This dress is perfect wish I owned it.

This dress is so cute. I wish I owned it. I am normally a size 4 and I wore a size 4 but I wish they had my back up size (6) in stock to send because I probably would have worn that size. The 4 fit but just barely. If I had eaten a big dinner I'm not sure if it would have still fit. I bet the 6 would have been comfortable. The fabric is thick which is nice because it hides imperfections (like a big lunch). I got so many compliments on this dress. I wish I owned it.

The dress fit like a glove, sucked me in, no need for spanx. The slit was sexy and I loved the cut out on the side. My husband said it was the best I've looked since we've been married!! I am a mom of 4 and I felt sexy yet not showing too much. I wore this for valentines date night and we went to a Mardi Gras party after. I could even dance in this dress without any problem! I wore a size 4 but I probably could have sized up to a 6 since it was a little tight in the rib cage. And I have a tiny rib cage area. The dress was also thick and felt substantial. So maybe not a summer dress but perfect for any other time!

Loved this dress! It definitely runs small so size up one or two sizes. I usually wear a four or six and the eight fit perfectly. The slit does not go too far up the thigh so it's not too revealing. The dress is definitely form-fitting, but the simple black color and longer length give it a more conservative look (I'm 5'4" and it hit almost halfway down my calves).

So many girls stopped me and ask where I get the dress. Picture does not do it justice.

I wouldn't necessarily wear this to the church ceremony portion of the wedding, but it was great for the reception! Got lots of compliments! Very comfortable with a strapless bra.

Dress was fabulous! Great material made it possible to wear without a bra, no problem. Thickness of material made it able to be worn without Spanx as well. Got so many compliments about how cool my dress was! Pros: unique fit, sexy slits, thick material, and for me the length. This dress is definitely meant to be worn by someone tall. Cons: slit draws a lot of attention and you have to be extremely careful when sitting down that it doesn't go up to an area of town you don't want shown. :-) Overall, I'd wear this again for a go to party dress. I'd say it runs a touch small though because I typically wear a size 8 and was glad I ordered the 10 for some breathing room.

A stylist at RTR recommended this for me and I was very hesitant at first but I am so glad I went for it! It is very thick, very stretchy material so hides any 'worry areas' you may have. I really do range from a size 6-10 so reading the reviews I went up in sizes and I will say that both actually fit, I could have worn either the 8 or 10 but I went with the 8 because I was having a good day! The opening and slit are quite revealing so just keep that in mind when picking for an event, but I am 100% pleased with this dress, I received so many compliments and felt great!

Loved this dress. One of my favorite rentals to date. Simple with a twist. Fit true to size, but I knew it would be form-fitting. The slit is higher than I expected, but it worked. Rent it!

Sorry for the type on the picture - this is the only picture I had of this dress. But I think these reviews are so helpful that I'm posting it anyway. The dress is flattering - the material is stretchy and has a slight texture to it. I would say that this dress probably looks better on girls who are 5'6" and above because it's pretty long, and you want the cut-out to hit in the right place.

I read other people's advice to order the dress 2 sizes up, and the only size that was available for the weekend I wanted the dress was 2 sizes up from the 4 I typically wear, so I ordered the 8. It was a tiny bit too big, but hardly noticeable to anyone I was with. Overall, I agree that going 1-2 sizes bugger is the right call. Otherwise, this dress is amazing! If you have a smaller waist, with a big butt and thighs like I do, this dress is your friend!

Great dress, tons of compliments! Also, so very comfortable! The material is textured and very stretchy but still holds you in. As with any Elizabeth and James, recommend sizing up at least a size.

Thick fabric, so every body contour doesn't show. Order one size up. Some girls recommended two sizes up, but I felt the +2 was too roomy. The slit stayed put, and I never had to adjust it the whole night.

I read a lot of the reviews before renting that suggested getting a size up. I'm normally a 4, but the 6 was unavailable for the weekend I needed it. I ordered the 4 and hoped for the best. The dress fit like a glove and the fabric has an appropriate amount of stretch. I have never gotten so many compliments on my outfit in my life. Friends I haven't talked to in months/years were Facebook messaging about where I got it. 100% recommend

Do not go down a size. I am usually a 10/12 and I went with the 12, the 10 was out of stock. I was worried that I didn't have a back up size but it fit perfectly! It was very comfortable and the slit was a good length... not too short.

I had read that it runs small, but that wasn't really my experience. You need to be honest with yourself about your dress size. I am an 8 who would like to pretend that I'm a 6. I'm glad I ordered the 8. It's a tight fitting dress but actually very comfortable. The side slit makes a bra difficult so I wore a strapless one. Overall, great dress. The material is a bit different than the photo makes it look, rather thick and a bit knobby. Not unpleasant at all, but not what I expected.

This dress was a great dress to get dolled up for a date night with my husband away from our one-year-old and three-year-old. It was sexy, yet classy. I didn't know until I received it that the fabric was a thicker fabric with texture, but I loved it. This dress is super comfortable and is actually a bit stretchy! I would definitely rent it again!

Perfection is all I can say about this dress! All Elizabeth and James runs small so always order one size up.
