Ordered a size up based on reviews and was perfect! Great length and design.

As other reviewers mentioned, this dress fits a little smaller, so I sized up. I normally wear a 4 and the 6 fit like a glove. It's incredibly flattering, and I received a lot of compliments on it when I wore it! It's very structured and the material is thick enough that you don't need Spanx at all. I loved this dress so much, I would definitely consider wearing it again in the future!!

This dress is AMAZING! Might be my favorite dress of all time. I rented for my 6 years anniversary and it was perfect. It's sexy, sophisticated, and fits like a glove. I'm normally a size 8 and ended up wearing the size 10 even though the 8 also fit well. It is a very fitted dress so I just felt more comfortable with the 10. There is stretch in the dress so it was easy to move in. I was able to wear a regular bra. I did wear spanx. Highly recommend this dress.

I loved this dress, I wore it to work with a blazer then straight out without the blazer to an evening event. Because it was a little tighter (I should have gone up a size) the slit kept riding up but otherwise, the cut of the dress was great. I would rent this again.

I ordered a size up after reading the reviews and I didn't want it to be too tight. I'm usually a 6 but the 8 was perfect. Still form fitting without being skin tight or uncomfortable. I wore black tights so the slit didn't bother me. Wore with Rebecca Minkoff bomber and Loeffler Randal bag from my unlimited subscription. Loved the look and would def rent again!

Loved it but was a bit tight. I got a size up I'm usually a 6 because all the other reviews said true to size when they wore their regular size but it looked right on them so I wore an 8. Loved my other rental better so I didn't wear it.

This dress was perfect for dinner with my coworkers! It's super stretchy and comfy! Even though it's stretchy it's still very tight. I would recommend sizing up with your back-up if you're a little curvy or have an athletic build like me. Other than that it's GREAT! One of my favorite rentals, definitely recommend this dress :)

Runs small. I could have fit my usual size since there's a bit of stretch, but it looked much better a size up. It's slightly body con, so very flattering for someone with some hips.

I really enjoyed how the dress ended up looking but I did find myself a little uncomfortable with the height of the slit. I am only 5'3" but it came up pretty high on me, I had to roll my spanx up on one leg, which was not comfortable! The dress is very fitted, I chose to wear the 6 because I was attending a professional event and didn't want to have a body hugging dress plus the high slit. Overall a fun dress but be sure to size up on your second just in case!

Great dress with thick, sturdy fabric. I didn't need slim wear since this stretchy dress firmed everything up. The slit was uncomfortably high but I think if I would have gone a size up, it would have been fine. I'm normally a 6, wore an 8, but needed a 10. My husband loved how it hugged my curves!

I was unsure of how this dress would look on me as it is different from my usual style, but I was pleasantly surprised! The longer length is made more party appropriate with the slit and tight fit. I loved how it highlighted my waist and with some stretch, it was super comfortable! The pattern was unique and fun! Be careful with the slit though! Since I have wider hips, the slit pulled somewhat and I was nervous the seam would split! I highly recommend this style if you are looking for a twist on the LBD!

Love the asymmetric design. Fit well on an hourglass shape. It was snug around the hips for sure, but I'm glad that I didn't size up. I think the slit is supposed to be open for a sexier look. The top fit perfectly (but I'm small chested)

Loved the design - I normally go with an 8 but opted for the 6 when the 8 wasn't available. A bit on the tighter side, would have gone up for sure. The slit is also a bit high if you're of the curvy nature (as I am) but all around a sexy cut. Would rent again, just as an 8 instead of 6. Would wear a bra with this to have some shape (felt flat chested without one).

I felt so smoking in this dress! The hugging, forgiving fabric, the slit! #boom The pattern garnered an artist, at art show, to exclaim, "I have to paint that dress!" Then just to prove I'm not just not so #humblebragging -a false alarm at the dinner brought these two ADORABLE Winter Park firemen, carrying axes and whatnot to the "rescue!" Picture please! It runs a bit small, specially if you have big hips, so definetly size up, the dress is beautiful and sexy!

Thicker, stretchy, nice material. Fit like a glove but still comfortable and easy to wear! I didn't wear a bra since the shoulders cut in slightly but it was totally fine without (and I'm not usually a braless person!). Highly recommend, would rent again.

As soon as I put on this dress I knew it was "the one". I went to the Chicago retail location and I'm glad I did. The stylist knew to give me the dress in a size 4 even though I typically wear a size 2. It definitely runs small but the size 4 fit me perfectly. Yes, the slit is high but that's what makes it super fun. Plus, you can wear a regular bra with it and it hugs your curves in all the right places. The fabric is perfect for fall and winter and the pattern and colors take the "little black dress" up a notch. Highly recommended!

Rented this dress for DCI finals. It was comfortable (which is good because it's a very long day). The thigh slit is a bit high so shape wear would be tricky. Can wear a normal bra with it. Definitely a statement dress. Received compliments all night.

I rented this dress for a night out in NYC for my birthday. It fit like a glove but had enough stretch and give to make it comfortable through dinner, drinks and a show. The pattern, cut and color blocking made the dress interesting and eye-catching. It's a show stopper in a sort of mature, understated way, very sexy but not crude or overly revealing. It was also edgy, which made it a perfect compliment to fun makeup. Highly recommend!

The dress does run small, I'm usually a 6 but gained a few pounds recently so I ordered the 8 as my back up. I wore the 8 and it fit, a little snug but not uncomfortable. I probably could've fit the 10. I have hips and booty but a smaller chest, the dress fit my curves nicely, I wore a padded bra for the top to fill it out. Overall, very comfortable dress, material helped to shape without wearing spanx. Length was good and the slit was perfect!

I really like how it looked on, and that I could wear a bra with it (but don't need to if you don't want to!). I ended up not wearing it because the rehearsal dinner ended up being a lot less dressy than I expected, but in hindsight I should've worn this to the wedding itself. No complaints here!

One aspect of rent the runway that I love is given the higher end dresses the fabric is always of the highest quality which results in flattering fits! This dress was no exception.I loved the side slit on this dress. I'd never worn anything like it. The fabric is thick, flexible and form fitting in the best way. There is a little shimmer to the black design on the bottom part of the dress which is fun.

Fit runs small for sure- I usually wear a 6, maybe an 8, depending on designer but this size 8 fit me Very snugly and left nothing to the imagination haha. The slit adds a very sexy detail to an already stunning dress! The colors are beautiful and the shape was ultra flattering. It did fit a little tight for a 6 but the material was thick and had a bit of stretch to it.

I have a very curvy figure so it's hard to find a tight dress that feel comfortable. I have big boobs, hips and ass plus the unmentionable stomach pouch I put on this year. Once I tried the dress, I put away all my insecurities. The feeling knowing a dress fits me perfectly without any help from Spanx is a win for me!!!

The fit is snug/a little small so I would recommend ordering up and spanx for those with less than perfect tummies. I'm only 5'1 so the length was a little past my knee was complimented by the sexy side slit. I'd definitely recommend ordering this dress for your next special occasion.

This dress has the perfect balance of subtle sexy and fitted sophistication. It's true to size, and the material is a bit stretchy. The blue color really pops in person. Only drawback is that when you walk, the dress tends to rise up a bit, and the slit can be a bit too revealing. Would rent again.

Rented this dress for a wedding at a concert venue so I knew I would be on the dance floor all night and wanted something comfortable to move in. This was the perfect body con dress for that- the fabric is really thick so it holds you in all the right places but is still extremely stretchy and comfy. Doesn't ride up at all and the side slit gives it that extra sexy factor! Would definitely rent again.

This is my second Elizabeth and James dress I have rented, I wore the size 4 in this but 6 In the other and only believe there are 2-3 pounds difference ( I bounce in the low 130s)The dress is very comfortable. I rented it because I liked the pattern, but it didn't have that wow factor I was hoping for even though the prior E&J which was same style without the slit and plain pink in color I felt did. Boyfriend thought it was nice but definitely didn't have the same reaction he does with other dresses. I think this one depends on your style and maybe my hair and makeup were blah so that's how I felt? Still love RTR!!
