I wore the 2 as I expected I would based on the reviews. The dress was not overly tight as a 2 sometimes is on me. If i wanted the dress to be super tight i'd need a 0. The dress was great to transition from the ceremony to my grad party and I still wore it out at night. More of a casual dress but the detailing makes it beautiful! Wish I owned this dress. Makes your waist look small which is always a plus. I had no issues with the straps being too long either but if I had worn the 4 they likely would have been. I'd pick a size based on your top/waist rather than hip size too (i'm very hippy and that was in no way an issue)

This dress is beautiful. The details and the fabric are really classy and the fit and flare shape is very flattering. The only thing was that the waist area sort of looks like it's missing something. I purchased a little shimmery belt which made it look more put together. It was a perfect dress for my rehearsal dinner, I got a ton of compliments!

This dress was perfect for my bridal luncheon that was hosted at a really nice private club in New Orleans. Everyone went on and on about how the detailing on it was so nice. I turned probably 30 woman on to "Rent the Runway". I wasn't even suppose to get this dress but picked it at the last minute when another dress was ruined and they could not send it out to me. THe rent the runway team was so nice and helpful about sending this out to me at the last minute and didn't charge me. Great dress and HUGE rent the runway fan right here!

This was a great dress for my rehearsal dinner. It runs a bit large, so size down. The material is thick and well structured, which I liked - especially for an October event. The color is gold but not too shiny.

I thought this just wasn't the right style for my summer bachelorette party. If I go to my company's Chirstmas party I might rent this again. It is a little heavy, but it is completely beautiful

I wanted something casual but dressy to wear to my courthouse wedding. I thought that the size 6 would likely fit me best but the site recommended I get the 4 and the 6 so I did. I was surprised to find that the 4 was the only option once I tried it on. Although it was very snug around the waist it definitely fit and was not uncomfortable. If the top had been any bigger it would have been too loose but a push up bra helped me to fill the top out nicely. The RTR necklace and earrings finished look off perfectly!

This dress is dimensional and fascinating. Amazing ivory tone colors with shine. The pattern is a relief of fabric, makes it comfortable and smoothing lines. Amazing dress. I loved it! Worn for Bridal Shower, I did use fashion tape to keep the straps in place to feel more secure. The length is perfect, dress up with heels, wedges, or dress down with nice sandals. Love this dress.

This dress fit very comfortably. I was a little worried that my bra may show so I added fashion tape to keep the dress in place. I do not have anything up top so it's no major shock. I wore it for my semi-casual rehearsal dinner. It looked great with boots and I got tons of compliments. People were asking me about it days later... it left an impression!

I wore this dress for a very special vow renewal ceremony to kick off Colorectal Cancer Awareness month. Survivors (my husband is a 3 time survivor) and their spouses renewed their wedding vows at Grand Central Station! This dress was perfect for the event. The 2 fit perfectly, I didn't have issues with the straps. The fabric is so luxurious and it is definitely an ivory dress, not white.

The dress was amazing. I wore it to a formal and it was perfect whether I wanted to dress it up at the dinner/dance or dress wit down when we went out on the town. I felt so classy in the most simple way. The beauty of the dress is it's simplicity. It was perfect for my body type because I have a small chest, smaller waist but I have hips and a booty. The dress was very flattering. The fabric can chafe your under arms and the straps are a little big, but nothing that can't be dealt with. I wore this dress for my engagement party with over 100 people there. Everyone loved the dress and it was so perfect for my figure. I'm very busty up top and it was important for me to have a dress that would work well with my bust and small waist. This dress was it! I loved the dress so much! It fit so well and the length was perfect considering that I'm tall! With a cute pair of tights and heels, it worked well!

I loved this dress so much! I wore it for my rehearsal dinner and received soooo many compliments. This was my first experience with RTR so I wasn't sure what size to get. The 4 was a little big in the waist and it's true what other people said about the straps being loose but it wasn't to the point where they were falling down or anything. I'm glad I went with the 4 because i'm bigger chested and i had no problems wearing a strapless bra with this dress! It was so comfortable and I loved the pattern details. I don't have hips so I loved how it flared out at the waist to give me more of a shape.

This dress was perfect my engagement party! I ordered a size 2 and 4 and went with the 2. The straps were long, however, it was totally workable. I got nothing but compliments all evening long and everyone wanted to know where I got the dress. The fabric was absolutely stunning and I didn't feel like it was too scratchy at all. I anticipated this dress for 5 months from when i ordered it, because I wanted to use RTR so badly! My friend and I rented together (she is the blonde in the other picture wearing the red Parker Flavor of the Month Dress that is not available anymore) and loved the process! The Wedding Cake Dress is definitely not bright white, it's more of an off white/ivory color, and the straps are REALLY long, so you might need fashion tape. It worked ok for me. The size fit well, maybe a TAD bit big, but it was mostly the straps that made it big. I felt very comfortable with the length, not to short or too long! I wore this for my high school's homecoming, and some girls had on dresses that, well, were not as classy as I'd say this dress is. Also, the quality was out-the-door fantastic by Erin Fetherstone. Loved having a designer dress on!

I rented this dress for my bridal shower. In person, it's more ivory and beige than white, but it photographs so well!! I received a ton of compliments and felt like a million bucks wearing it. The straps were just a tad too big, but it wasn't a huge issue. I opted for no strapless bra, although the dress does allow for strapless or regular. I highly recommend it!

I wore this dress for my wedding rehearsal with the Kate Spade Marquee necklace. Same complaints as others - the straps are far too long! I was able to pin them and it looked fine. It runs a little large, I usually wear a 4 but the 2 fit well. This was actually my back-up dress. The material is heavy, it kind of feels like you're wearing a curtain - but it's beautiful and I got many, many compliments. Makes your waist look small!

I'm 5'8", and the bodice fit well! Great fit- I typically wear a size 2 in most designers on RTR, and I wore the 0. Definitely make your backup size a smaller size. Loved this dress! Make sure to have a statement earrings or necklace, or a belt because the dress needs "something" to make it all come together.

This dress was a perfect choice for my bridal shower. The fabric is gorgeous with rose details and gold thread throughout. As other reviewers have said the straps are very long but I was able to wear the dress as is anyway. By the end of the day my arms were a little scratched from the fabric, but it was so worth it!

I had read many of the reviews and checked out a lot of the other girls's pictures and I found the reviews and pictures to be very accurate. The size fits true to form, and just like the other girls said, the straps were long (I do have a short torso) and I pinned them back and they were fine. I got many compliments and felt great! I was worried about the fit so I ordered this as my second dress. The fit was great for me as I am pretty tall. If you're shorter than I am, though, the straps may be a little long. I usually wear a 6 but I fit into a 4. The 6 also fit but I liked the snugness of the 4. Overall I loved it! The waist of the dress made me look like I had a waist when I'm actually very lacking in that department. I would definitely wear it again!

While it did reveal a large amount of cleavage, it was a great dress that I loved wearing. Very flattering around the waist and hides a bra perfectly. Absolutely loved it.

Like everyone else has commented, this dress is more ivory than white with such a beautifully-detailed embroidery pattern throughout. I also had to pin the straps. Not sure if I tried to squeeze into too-small a size but the dress hit a bit high (natural waist-ish) it felt 60's retro in a fun, flirty way! Lots of compliments on this dress

I ended up returning it and buying the dress to own since it was on clearance on her website. I needed the straps take up a couple inches and had it take in at the waist a bit.

I was happy with the quality of fabric of the dress. It was fully lined. The straps were slightly too big, but not enough to worry about. I liked the shape of the dress and how it accented my curves. Many of my girlfriends agreed that it was very flattering.

I wore this to our engagement party because I wanted a Little White Dress. The 2 would have also fit - The zipper was just a litte hard to pull up - but I felt more comfortable in the looser dress, being sick and slightly bloated from trying to drink tons of fluids haha. Naturally, winter in North Dakota isn't the best time to wear a sleeveless dress, so I put the cardigan over it. Looking back on these pictures, I look WAY better than I felt, which I majorly attribute to the dress!
