I ordered two different dresses, same size, and was a bit nervous because I'm between size 6 and 8 with a 36D bust. The comments from others who wore these dresses were extremely helpful in calming my concerns. The dress I finally chose fit like a glove, very slimming, wasn't too long and I could wear a normal bra (although I had to buy one with a low cut - that was easy and I was very comfortable). But that zipper on the side! Needed help with that. No ironing necessary and it was ready to wear out of the box. Kudos to customer service - UPS didn't leave the package on the scheduled date and said they would try again the next day - PANIC set in. I called Rent the Runway, they called UPS and arranged for me to pick up the package that evening. That left plenty of time to choose the right dress and shop for accessories. Wonderful experience and have told all my friends to give it a try. Very happy customer!

I wore this dress only one sleeve it was beautiful.

The color is a bit deceiving and the dress only looks blue in certain light and via camera. I loved the material: a jersey that is neither heavy nor thin and cheap. The rouching and draping are very good for hiding a tummy. One needs to definitely wear heals with this dress otherwise it will drape the floor. I loved it and I loved the Rent the Runway experience. Having the two sizes to choose from is something you don't realize as the best option UNTIL you have it. I will definitely rent dresses in the future. You simply can't beat this. Please keep up the good work.

I rented this dress for prom, and I was so happy with it! I wore an 8R and it was a little long, but since I wore 2 1/2" heels it ended up being the perfect length. I could wear my regular bra with this dress (yay! no strapless) and it was super flattering. Definitely a dress I would wear again!!

I'm 5'5 and the 10L that I ordered was too long for the 3 inch heels I planned to wear. A regular would have been perfect! I ended up wearing 5 inch heels and only then was the dress perfectly floor length. The dress itself was flawless! It fit me well and I was so happy with the cut. I wore it to prom and I had a great time! It's a very thick dress, though. So I was really warm in it (it was a June prom). All in all, it's a fabulous, classy, beautiful dress, and I got tons of compliments.

I was very pleased with this dress. The asymmetrical bodice gives it a nice look without being too fussy. The dress is very comfortable and easy to move in. I ordered the 10R and 12R; the 12R was a bit big on top, the 10R fit perfectly on top and fine through the hips but ended up being a tad short due to my somewhat hippy body, so I wore the 12R and used some fashion tape to keep it all in place. Worked well.

I've always preferred apparel that is classic with a little bit of interest, and this dress fit my style perfectly. The ruched bodice and chain detail on the left shoulder strap were lovely details to an otherwise simply elegant dress. The drape is delightful and flowed beautifully. The 10L was the right length for me; I am 5'7" and wore 3" heels.

I thought it fit perfectly; it was a little long, but a pair of heels fixed that "problem".

The dress was beautiful and fit very comfortably - once I (rather, we) got it zipped. The side zipper may be a little hard to get to if you are well-endowed. I had a tough time reaching around "myself" to get it all the way up. But with a little help from my daughter, we zipped it up and it did not feel tight at all. I received quite a few compliments on the dress throughout the evening. The asymmetrical look was unique and I loved the soft flow of the dress as I moved.

I wore this dress to my prom and I LOVED IT! It was comfortable and flattering, and I felt like a princess. I noticed that it was very tight for a 6, which wasn't surprising because I have a wide rib cage and it was a little short (which I didn't mind at all). I got compliments saying how pretty it was but I wish I would've worn my hair up to show off the strap details more! Overall it was a gorgeous dress, just be careful with the size because a little too tight makes it uncomfortable to breathe or eat too much.

I wore this dress to a formal gala and had a blast in it. It fit well and was extremely easy to dance in until 3am! I wanted something to "blend in" with the high society types and this was perfect. I did have to wear the 12L to wear a 2 inch wedge (and I'm only 5'7) so you may want to order the longer size as the back-up.

I wore this dress to an inaugural ball. I picked it because I could wear a regular bra with it and a bonus was that I could wear long johns underneath and the lines didn't show :) I wore a 4R and it was a wee bit tight in the torso/armpit area but not enough to make me uncomfortable all night.

I went with the 10L based upon what others had said about the dress being short. It was the right height for me with 2 inch heels. But I did have to hold the dress up a little while dancing though. The zipper is can be a little tricky when trying to zip up the dress. I ordered a 12L and 10L and had trouble with both of zippers for the dress. You don't have to over accessorize the dress either. I wore my sapphire and diamond stud earrings with a silver necklace. The dress was comfortable to wear and looks very elegant.

This dress was overnighted to me for a formal gala when my first dress didn't work out. I got a lot of compliments throughout the night and I think it stood out in a sea of black and white attire. The dress had a nice weight to it and was very figure flattering. My only complaint is that it was a little short. I am petite and the regular length dress was a little too short with heels. I don't think anyone notices that kind of thing, so I was still very happy with the dress. I would rent this again in a heartbeat. I didn't want to take it off!

I was pleasantly surprised with how well this dress fit. I am pear shaped, so I often have the problem where clothing that fits in the hips is too big on the top, and if it fits on top, it's too tight in the hips. This dress fit almost just right - it was only just sliiightly big in the top - one of the straps would slide down -- but some safety pins and dress tape helped me out there. The length was PERFECT for me with 3 inch heels, which means it will probably be short on a lot of other people since I'm only 5'3". The dress was nice and heavy -- good for November -- and was definitely better quality than anything I would have bought. Perfect for a black tie wedding, and I received many compliments!

The dress fit great and I was able to wear a bra with it, which is definitely important for me. I am generarlly an 8-10 and in this I wore the 10, mostly so it fit up top. I am 5'2" (if I round up) and the Regular length with 3.5" heels and it came just to the floor. I got several compliments and I felt like the cut of the dress hid any parts of my body that I am uncomfortable with - namely my stomach. The cut gave me a great hourglass shape, which is exaclty what I was going for.

I rented it to go to the wedding. It was very convenient and easy to rent. Looked great too. I don't think I'll ever buy an evening gown again. RTR is the way to go!

Wore this to a black tie charity event and got several compliments. Could have gone with a 6L and worn taller shoes, but the 6R with 3" shoes was perfect. As others mentioned, I liked being able to wear a normal bra and not have to tug or adjust through the night, it fit really well all around.

Loved the dress and the fit was great! The material was heavy which made the draping perfect.

I loved wearing this dress to a formal dinner dance. It was comfortable to sit and dine and also for dancing. I was able to wear my normal bra which is a plus for a 34 DD!! Overall, I highly recommed.

I was very happy with this dress - it was comfortable and fit very well. It has some give in the fabric, so will likely fit even if you're between a 12 and a 14 (like I am). I am 5'6" and rented the long version - the length was perfect with 4" heels. I also liked that I could wear a regular bra and that I didn't feel like there was too much skin showing (I'm almost 60, so am past my revealing dress days!).

I loved the dress. I wore it to a 1920's themed New Years party & got several complements. It fit well and felt great. I loved that I could wear my bra with it.

I got a lot of compliments on this dress, which I wore to host a PBS concert. (Detail that not a lot of people need, but I could wear a wireless microphone with this style.) The deep navy is a nice alternative to black, even though some might think it's black. The zipper was a little sticky at the ruching, so it's probably helpful to have a helper to zip up. (I had to stretch a lot to get the zipper to go on my own!) I wore this with 4-inch heels, so the length was perfect. Would rent this one again.

This dress was very beautiful, elegant, and very flattering for an hourglass figure. The length was perfect for me, if not slightly short. I have a large bust, but the dress fit snugly and perfectly (I had gotten a larger size too, just in case, but didn't need it). The zipper was quite sticky, but otherwise the dress was a really great fit and was perfect for the black tie affair I attended. The asymmetrical neckline is very attractive!

Loved this dress. It was several inches too long so I wore really high heels. I still liked it and got great comments on it. The chain detailing is really pretty.

This was my second choice for a formal affair. Although I did not end up wearing it, it is a lovely gown. The metal on the shoulder strap gave it an edgy feel. It would have been beautiful paired with a silver bracelet.

This was my backup dress and I loved the other one so much, I didn't end up wearing it. It fit true to size, allowed me to wear a normal bra, and was really comfortable and pretty. It's very simple and felt a little 'older' than what I was going for, but I would certainly consider it for another formal event in the future, especially for a more conservative crowd. The blue color is very dark and looked black in some lights. I tried it on with black shoes and would have worn them, had I gone with this dress.

I wore this to the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Perfect dress for a formal work occasion where you don't want to show too much. The dress was comfortable, and the weight was good for a spring evening. The chain on the shoulder dug in a little by the night's end, but that was my only complaint. It was maybe an inch or so too long, but I had no trouble walking in it.

I was very pleased with the fit of this gown. I am very large breasted and our formal event was to honor my daughter for her volunteer service so I definitely did not want to show an improper level of cleavage. This dress actually minimized the chest and tummy areas beautifully. I received so many compliments all night and the dress was very comfortable. My only complaint is the small clasp that helps to hold your bra strap in place was missing, so I did have to continually tuck my bra strap away on the side of the dress with the shoulder chain detail. Overall, I am very pleased with this rental.

I ordered a 4L. I am 5'7 and felt the long size of this dress ran a little short. I needed flats to have this dress in the appropriate length. The color and look of this dress was wonderful.

The fit was great. Even the length was OK (I'm only 5'2"). I had to be careful about the side zipper because it was not easy to get up and down and I was afraid the lining would get caught (but it didn't). Next time I'll get one more size, just to make sure, although the size 6 turned out to be ideal.

I rented this dress for my Army ball last December. I am normally not flashy so I wanted something classy and elegant. This dress fit the bill - it is understated yet pretty enough to hold its own. The only problems I had were keeping the strap up and that it really doesn't look great in photos. I got a lot of compliments but this year I will be ordering something a little shinier. Overall, rent this dress if you are looking for a classic black evening gown. It was very comfortable and I felt beautiful.

the length was just right, however, I needed extra " abdominal control." The loose fit sent an awkward message! not the dress's fault for sure.

It's a simple dress with just the right amount of detailing. The fabric was nice and heavy giving it a quality feel. The dress arrived in great condition- I couldn't tell anyone had worn it before. The color in the photo is accurate, it's navy-nearly-black. The shape of the dress is extremely flattering- it really emphasizes the waist. For me at 5'4" with 3" heels the hem hovered only a little off the ground (which is good, I don't like dresses that drag) but for anyone taller it would probably look weird. The bust was not generous however and it's possible anyone D or larger might need to size up in order to zip up the dress. I needed two people to help me zip it up along with me holding my boobs in place. Also the zipper can be a bit tricky since that part of the gown is ruched. Overall it was a very nice dress and I had a good experience renting from RTR and will probably do it again next year.

Beautiful dress. Very comfortable, too. Size & Fit Details are correct in that if you are somewhat larger busted, go with the larger size. While the smaller size fit me perfectly everywhere else, I had to go to the larger one in order for it to fit on top. Length details don't seem to be correct. I'm 5'4" and wore 2.5" heels, and the "regular" length dress still touched the ground (I had to hold it up to walk). Very nice dress, though, and I enjoyed wearing it.
