This dress was perfect for my black tie event. I felt comfortable and appropriate all evening. I was completely impressed with RTR and my stylist, Marina!! I do agree with the reviews, the dress definitely runs short. I normally wear petite or short lengths but opted for the regular length after reading the reviews. If I rent this dress again, I will probably try one size smaller in my 2nd size....the dress does have "give" to the material. Thanks for making this so easy RTR! I had a great experience and will definitely be renting again!!

This dress is perfect. The armpit is cut high for full coverage. Draping gives a nice silhouette, but is forgiving across the tummy. Material is stretchy so it is very comfortable. The material is also heavy so the dress looks and feels expensive. I received compliments all night long. The dress runs a tad bit big. I usually wear a size 8, and I wore the 8, but probably could have fit in the size 6 (which was not available).

I wore this to a 1920s themed black tie. The dress is a little stretchy so I was actual able to wear a 2L versus my normal size of a 4L. I'm 5'7" and the length was perfect with 3 inch heels. It would have definitely been to short had I not gotten the extra length. The arm piece is actually beaded, which I didn't realize in the photo which actually makes it look better in person. Overall I found the dress to be very flattering. Earrings and bracelet were also rented here.

This gown is super comfortable and stretchy! definitely forgiving and on the roomier side. On the more fitted side in the bodice, easy fit through the hips, I found this to be really easy to wear and the crochet/beaded detailing on the one sleeve was really fun! overall an easy fit, seems flattering on most body types as well.

The style and fabric of this dress make it really easy to wear. It's a little bit stretchy and it gathers in the mid-section in a flattering way. I was looking for a classic black dress for a formal affair -- plain, in a good way. The beading off the shoulder added some interest to the dress without being flashy.

This dress was unbelievably comfortable and forgiving. I was able to eat and drink without worrying about looking bloaty or full. It was a tiny bit big at my waist, but that's uaully an issue for me since I'm a size 0 at the waist, but a size 2 at the hips. I wore 3inch heels, and I'm 5'4. The regular length fit perfect, as you could just see my shoes, but only in the front.

Wore this for a gala dinner in NYC where I knew the crowd was a bit older and more conservative. Perfect for the event: it was comfortable to walk, sit and eat in. Was seated most of the time wearing this. Didn't make too much of a statement but that's what I was going for. I will say about the length: I ordered the 2L and the 4R. I was worried about the length of the 2L but it was perfect. The 4R barely touched my ankles! I'm not super tall so I don't know how gals with height might wear this. Zipper at the waist was a little bulky (as you see in the photo). Worked for me overall and, as always, great customer service from RTR!

I am so happy with this dress! I ordered a 2R and it was a little roomy but not enough to where I'd say it ran large, I could have sized down if I had the option, but the 2 really was fine and comfortable. The fabric is heavy and it was also a little scratchy and uncomfortable at times, but that was easy to overlook. The beaded sleeve was my absolute favorite part! The dress is a little bit on the short side but if you're like me and you like to opt for a wedge or a flat, then it is pretty perfect! Overall, I really liked this dress and I have no real complaints!

Wore to a black tie event! Unfortunately, it came snagged and really in bad shape on the shoulder! It wasn't a show-stopper, but it was still really pretty!

I wore this dress to a black tie event I attended in early September. The crowd attending was a conservative crowd. So glad I went with the dress with a partial sleeve. Very comfortable to dance in. This dress is slightly short. I'm 5'4 and wore 2.5" heels and it was perfect.

It runs true to size and was very comfortable. The 2 was a more snug fit than the 4, but I'm in between those sizes and went for the tighter git

This was a backup size for my primary dress. I ordered two dresses and wound up wearing the second one, but it was such a tough decision! I want to rent this one for another occasion someday because it was beautiful and just different enough to stand out, yet still classy and reserved. I never would have picked it myself but I'm glad RTR sent it. I am usually a 6 but the 4L still fit fine, hugged every curve but was more forgiving in the midsection due to the ruching which was flattering rather than just looking wrinkly like other dresses. I'd rent this dress again in a second!

It fit really well. I ordered a 6 and 8 and the 6 ended up fitting perfectly. I am 5'4" so I was concerned that it may be too long but it was absolutely perfect! The RTR process was also SO easy. This was the first dress I had ordered and I am planning to order from RTR again this year for the holiday party as well as a wedding!

I wore this dress to a formal affair and it was perfect. The material is stretchy but elegant looking. It was easy to sit in, dance in and overall a very comfortable and beautiful dress.

This dress lived up to my super-fabulous expectations, for sure! I'm usually a 2, and going from the measurement descriptions I went for the 2L and the 4L, but the dress does run large, I probably could have gone with the 0L but it was not a problem at all, the fit was just fine. This was for a black tie wedding, and it turned out to be the perfect thing.

Great dress, runs large. Also, I ordered the long and it was still not that long, so tall girls beware! The fabric is heavy, and does a great jobs of hiding any imperfections in the midriff area.

The dress was beautiful and overall it fit well. The description says the model is 5'10". I am 5'10" and the dress was short. I tried on the 8L as well, still short.

I really wanted to love everything about this dress. I had rented the 2 and 4 and the 4 was damaged so I was sent a different dress in a size 4 that just didn't fit. The detail on the shoulder was awesome, and the way the fabric sat on the torso was great. It's definitely forgiving in the tummy area. My only complaint is the dress fell to the middle of my calf so it was more of a midi length. Had it been floor length like I had hoped, it would have been perfect. I may re-order it in the future but I would opt for the 2L

The material kept me cool, which was good for the crowded venue I was in. You just have to keep your arm up as the model in the photo has it for the detailing to be evident. It was just a one-shoulder black dress otherwise.

The dress fit perfectly however, it was not long enough. I am 5'8" and it came to my ankles changing the entire look of the dress

It fit like a glove, very forgiving and slightly stretchy. The way the fabric wraps around the abdomen is very flattering. The beading on the shoulder was my absolute FAVORITE part. I absolutely loved this dress and would wear it again!

I would have given this dress5 stars if it wasn't for the torn beads on the first dress. RTR quickly replaced the dress and it fit wonderful. The quality of the dress made everything worth it...nothing like what I could have picked up locally. Thanks for a beautiful evening.

Very comfortable Pretty beading but short

I wore this dress to a black tie gala the other evening and was very comfortable all night long. Some reviewers mentioned the heavier fabric being a problem. I, however, found it to be flattering as it helped the drape of the dress over the body- a thinner jersey material would not be as flattering. Please take into account that I am 5'8", so shorter women be warned about the weight of the dress and the length. If you like to show your waist, have a simple, elegant style, and some killer jewelry to rock this dress could be perfect for you.

I REALLY liked this dress! Wore it to a black tie wedding this past weekend. The size runs a bit large so order a size down as your back-up. The ruching is flattering and accentuates the hourglass shape. I would recommend this dress to taller ladies b/c the fabric is slightly heavier and petites may feel like it's too much (as you see w/ the previous review). The beading detail was VERY pretty and gave it a romantic, almost 20s kinda feel.

I rented this in a 4R (long was not available) and 6L, but even the 6L barely skimmed the ground when I was barefoot! I'm only 5'5" so I don't recommend this dress for any taller women. But RTR was great and sent me another dress overnight that I wore to the event!

Short for a dress. I would go with the TALL size over regular especially if youre wearing heels.

While the dress fit perfectly from head to toe, I am 5'8" and rented a "Long" but it was still far too short to wear heels. The top was beautiful and the stitching/beading was exquisite, but the length left something to be desired.

This was my second option for a dress that I did not wear because it was far too short, above my ankles bare foot and it was the LONG. Very fitting and lovely up top, but no way could this be worn by anyone over 5'3.

The biggest problem with this dress is that it is SHORT! I am 5' 6", and based on other reviews, I ordered the 4L and 6L. The 4L would have been a perfect fit, but it was literally 4" above the floor in my bare feet. The 6L just barely touched the floor, and rather than wearing the heels I had planned to wear, I had to wear flats. Really much too short to be considered a gown.

I think this dress is beautiful! The fabric is soft and drapes wonderfully and the wrinkles (if any) fall right out. We ordered this dress as a bridesmaid dress, which is a bit brave, if you have never tried it on before. But the fabric was stretchy and the cut/draping are perfect for every body shape. That being said, I only gave it 3 stars for a couple reasons: First, I ordered the 4L and 6L, as an alternate. I was a bit worried because the measurements said I would be a 6 or 8 (34-29-39). When the dresses arrived, I realized there was enough stretch that I could have fit into a 2! But, thank goodness I didn't size down because this dress is SHORT!! I am 5'9 and the model is supposed to be 5'10, with the photo showing the hem touching the ground. This is not the case! My long length dress came to the top of my foot/bottom of my ankle. Definitely NOT a long dress. Several other bridesmaids were disappointed in the length and one of them even used fabric tape to add extra length to her hem. Another bridesmaid had ordered the long length and, at 5'6, it fit perfectly. In the end, it was ok because we all put on flip flops for the reception. But we were all a bit disappointed, for sure. Order the long length, no matter what!

True to size, and the lines across the stomach are very flattering. But I expected this to look a little differently - the beaded sleeve was all open and a little awkward. A little 'Morticia-Adams-esque' but for the right event, I would still wear this.

I'm 5'3" and the 4R was incredibly short on me. Not only tall ladies should beware... Short and average height gals, do yourselves a favor and order the long length. I was planning on wearing this with 2" heels, but even barefoot the gown was ankle length. No thank you.

This dress was sent as a last-minute replacement when the dresses I ordered were not available. The dress, even in the long size, did not even come down to my ankles. It was pretty funny looking! My friend who is about 5'2" tried the dress on, and it was even a little short on her, although it was long enough that it would not have been funny looking had she worn the dress out. I found the hips slightly snug, but not overly tight.

I'm 5'4" and weigh 120. I normally wear a size two in dresses and sometimes even go up a size so ordered both a 2R and 4R. The fabric is very forgiving and has stretch, so no need to ever go up a size, I'd recommend your normal size and perhaps one smaller. The biggest issue I had was the length. I'm not short, but I'm not tall either. The R was off the ground without wearing any shoes. Would recommend the L or talk with a specialist before ordering this dress.

I ordered a 6L and got a 6. Usually a six is still fine for me (I'm 5'7). Even with bare feet the dress was above my ankles. Besides that it seemed a little big and didn't really cinch in at the waste as it looked in other pictures. So too short and not too flattering.
