Loved how structured this dress is! Makes for a powerful silhouette. Paired it with a long-sleeved bodysuit for a cold office. Derek Lam is absolutely amazing!

Loved this dress / jacket. Wore it on a cold day so I layered it with a black turtleneck. Would have also been cute with a cream turtleneck. The fit was perfect and true to size. Also a very comfortable outfit to wear.

Given my height/size, the dress runs longer. It was a perfect knee length dress for me. The denim has stretch and a nice midweight to it.

This dress was perfect for an outdoor charity event which was casual but professional attire. I felt sophisticated yet simple. It ran a tiny bit large but there were plenty of belt loop holes so I could tie it tight. The denim was a bit thick so I wouldn't recommend for hot muggy days in the summer but I will definitely be renting this one again.

I loved the thick denim. And the cut is such that you could wear it conservatively or with a little more skin showing... I paired it with a belt and cowboy boots.

I LOVE this dress. However, the belt was missing, so I had to scrounge to find one of my own, but I made it work. The fabric is a thick denim-ish material. I wore the size 40/US 4 and I typically wear a size 6 dress. I thought this one fit me perfectly, with the exception of being slightly large on top (not unusual for me). The armholes are cut pretty wide and the material IS really think--I wouldn't wear this without a top underneath--I think it would look strange sleeveless on me--my bra and too much armpit and surrounding area would show. Plus, this dress seems more appropriate for fall and winter. I wore this to lunch with a client and I also wore it to a play. I plan to wear it again when I meet with clients. Sorry, ladies--I'm keeping this one for a while!!

Let me start by saying I love this dress; the details make it very chic. Mine arrived new with the tag still on. Anytime I see European sizing, especially Italian, I size up -- this was no different, I ordered the 42/6 instead of my usual 4. The 4 likely would have fit, but I much prefer this size. Two small issues I noticed; this dress shows quite a bit of leg when you walk and doesn't look great when sitting. That said, I would rent it again.

Wore this to a couple of casual summer work events. The denim is soft and comfortable, conservatively cut but with enough skin and shape to be flattering. Thickness of the material and belt maybe added more to my waist than ideal, but overall very cute and easy to wear. I paired with espadrille wedges, and threw on a thin navy cardigan to survive office A/C.

The belt was missing but worked with normal belts. Was versatile was able to wear multiple times with dressy heels and belt for work, casual for sushi date and another look with a scarf for shopping. Buttoned up or open. Nice structure denim was heavy. Not for someone looking for a tight streamlined fit. Pockets but no one opened the stitches yet and I didn't either.

Received many complements on this dress but had to pin the front slit because when walking or sitting was very revealing. Probably a dress more suited for a casual day out.

I really liked and would rent again! I wore it buttoned at the top with a cute blazer for work and wore it casual with tennis shoes for brunch. The material bunches a bit when you sit and I had to make sure to keep my napkin on my lap while getting up from the table because it's hard to keep the bottom of the dress together while seated. I loved it when I was standing and walking though. I got a lot of compliments.

It is a great looking dress and I got a ton of compliments. BUT...I should have ordered the 46 maybe. When I sat down it bunched up in a really unattractive way. The slit in front is hot second away from a Britney moment. I wore tights when I wore it to work. The dress really was a crowd pleaser and my hubby loved it but I felt like I was wearing a denim blanket all day.

It came without the belt when I got the dress. But it fits so perfectly and decided to wear without the belt. The fabric is thick enough for fall and winter but I layered with black long sleeve knit. I had so many compliments and it was also very comfortable. Love the dress!

I rented for work, however although this dress is appropriate length-wise, due to the button placement a bit too much leg shows while walking. I ended up wearing on date night. The fabric is gorgeous and fit is perfect. It's sexy without trying too hard.

Usually this designer runs small for me but this one is not. Fabric is very thick but it looks great on. Sitting is not its best position but was workable without any issues- would rent again no question. Very flattering for athletic build. I got tons of complements- great "casual" Friday dress for a more formal workplace.

the first 1 i got was missing the belt and it is critical to the dress. i didn't have one that worked so i had to have rtr send another one, which they were really nice about. that being said, with the belt, it is AMAZING. the dress is so cool. loved the neck and material. wonderful high quality dress.. highly recommend.

This dress fits perfectly and has a nice edge to it. I wore it to work with a long sleeve black shirt underneath it and it was almost like wearing a suit, but much more modern. I absolutely loved it. The only downside is the buttons don't come down all the way, so you have to be careful when you sit. Wasn't a problem for me, but it could be too edgy for some workplaces. My shipment arrived without the belt, but I don't think it made much of a difference. I also didn't wear it with the neck piece because I thought it looked better without it.

Love the cut of this dress. The denim is nice and thick, has a great collar and a long and lean cut. Perfect for work and going out.

I rented the M but should probably have gone with the S. I was thinking of layering a turtleneck underneath (rented during the winter in Chicago) but even with that the M was a bit large. It still looked great though! Wore it for everyday for numerous occasions

this dress is amazing. it's denim and def keeps you warm. it hit below the knee so i wore high black booties, black tights, and it was perfect. the neck is so interesting, i kept getting compliments. i'm typically btwn 2 and 4, 4 fit well w room all around so it was perfect. wld look amazing on someone taller. reg bra is fine. i can't say enough about this awesome awesome dress for work and then to drinks/dinner. it's incredibly unique, but subdued and classic. GET THIS!!!!!

The fabric was lighter and less structured than it looked in pictures. Too casual for a normal workday but great for a casual dress day. Because the slit is at a diagonal I didn't find it to be too revealing as others mentioned.

I honestly thought this was a little big and shapeless. The belt helped a lot and it is otherwise very classy and cut well.

I wore this to work and it was lovely. I recommend wearing tights or leggings underneath if you're in a work or conservative setting. The slit at the bottom of the button front goes quite high on the thigh. Be aware that the dress is supposed to come with a belt and a little collar piece that buttons on and you may not get all of the pieces - I actually think I got a denim belt from another dress as it didn't match the picture.

Well constructed, heavy fabric. The neckline is great and versatile, can be worn w a blouse underneath. The silhouette is attractive when standing BUT not great when sitting. Slit is very high in front and gapes when sitting, also lifts up off shoulders, and bunches around neck. Would work better worn with tights so it doesn't appear so revealing.

I liked this dress but unfortunately the belt was missing and I think that would have made this dress go from nice to great. My own belts didn't work so I wore without. I am pumping / breastfeeding and it's perfect for that - easy to open quickly, and I like that you can button it all the way up or wear the neck open (similar to a trench coat). Good for weekend or the office in my case, only caveat was that the slit is pretty high, and so I can feel the opening, but it's not really visible to others. The denim felt a bit too heavy on a sweltering Saturday at the park, but then it was perfect for a cool Monday at the office. Looks great with gold jewelry and I wore studded brown leather flats with it.

This fit true to size - the pop collar gave it a bit of attitude and the belted middle made it very flattering. Beware that the front closure means for exposed legs when sitting cross-legged.

This dress is made out of a great, thick, denim material and I enjoyed wearing it. The downsides of the fit were that the belt was a little high for my waist and the dress showed a lot of leg when I sat down. Also, the dress came without the piece that can be buttoned on at the top of the neck. Also, it came with two belts, one of which was broken. Overall, I would rent it again.

Mine was missing the collar piece but i had the belt which a lot of other renters seemed to be missing. I enjoyed this piece a lot. It was versatile and it was probably my most worn rent the runway piece. It could be dressed up or down, buttoned or open, tied or untied, belted or unbelted. It was stylish in all the best ways.

I'm giving this dress good reviews even though I did not actually wear it, because it was too tight. The reason it's not 5 stars is because the detail is a bit tricky - there are pieces of cloth that you must button on separately. Despite of that, it is a nice dress and sturdy, good quality material. I normally wear a four, but that was too tight.
