Dance the night away

I went to a wedding in Colorado. The dress is jersey material, which I knew when I rented it. I loved the way it hugged my body and wasn't too short. I dressed it up with some jewelry and black sparkly pumps. I received several compliments throughout the night. I loved that the dress wasn't stiff at all so I could move and dance in comfort. It was the perfect dress for the occasion!

The dress worked amazing with my shape.

This is a dress for curvy women. The draping was very flattering for my fanny haha. The length was even perfect (and I'm short). The only thing that became annoying was the shoulders, but not enough to ruin the dress. #sleek #curvy

It's a knockout dress. For a semi formal event and it was the perfect style. Simple yet stunning.

Very forgiving, good for a petite and thin but curvy gal. Band around shoulders moves a lot, made for a little difficulty dancing but worth it for the compliments I received.

COMFORTABLE and sleek

This dress was super comfortable - it's made out of jersey material, but the tricky part was the shoulders staying down, the waist area of the dress, and the dress not riding up when walking. I wore an XS (which translates to a 2-4), and the fit was great. However, the waist area seemed a bit baggy, which is why I belted it. The dress also rides up, which is tough for dancing, and the shoulders part do too. But, it was an awesome dress to wear, and it made dancing easy to move in!

Once I figured out how to put it on, this dress was super comfortable and looked great!

The fit was pretty true-to-size. I got the medium as a back up and it looked terrible so you have to get the correct size for the dress to look right. It was actually very difficult to put on because the material is stretchy and there are multiple layers. I also wore a belt with the dress because I feel as if the dress didn't look quite right - it needed more shape. I had read reviews about how the sleeves kept coming up so I just safety pinned them down and that worked perfectly! Overall, the dress is really comfortable and looks great once you put the whole look together.

This dress is EXTREMELY comfortable and looks very chic. It's incredibly flattering in all the right places, once you figure out how to put it on properly.

A lovely, elelgant and sexy dress!

This dress is so gorgeous. It is comfortable and flattering. It is a bit awkward to get into it but once you are in you won't want to take it off.

I have a tummy and this dress (along with my yummy tummy) completely hid it. I felt sexy and curvy!

The fit was perfect. It was stretchy and comfortable and lightweight. I could wear it off shoulder or as a tank dress. Off shoulder was more dramatic. It was a little worn with pills, but I would DEFINITELY wear this again. The pills weren't noticeable at all. Only to me at least. LOL. Thank God the dress is black. Loved my look the whole night. I put a thick belt on to add some spice with a sequin shoe. Ladies, rent this one and enjoy! DKNY knows what she's doing.

Comfortable and pretty

The dress was difficult to wear, in that it took a lot of twisting and tugging to make it look good. The dress was comfortable and looked great once I got it to look right. Fabric was fairly worn.

Fit like a glove

This dress was a perfect fit. The only reason I gave it less stars is because it had some pilling from what seemed like a lot iof previous wear. Dress is lined and really high quality jersey.

Flattering and forgiving

Complicated cut so it takes a little figuring out before you can put it on. Very nice draping and slimming fit. Stretchy and comfortable. Sexy without being too overt. I liked how you could adjust the material on top to cover/expose your shoulders. I would rent it again.

Extremely comfortable LBD with unique cut!

I rented this dress to attend an evening pageant. It has undoubtedly been worn and dry cleaned many times but it didn't look dingy or faded on the outside (the inside of the dress looked worn, though). Once you get the dress on, you have to take time to untwist and position it the way you want on your body. It took me a moment to figure it out but once on, loved the fit. It's longer in the back but the slit and bared shoulders add sass WITH class, a winning combination. If you want to be comfortable yet sexy, order this dress!

This dress was so comfortable and flattering - took me 5 minutes to get dressed for the event!

This dress was very flattering and comfortable - it has a very body conscious, sexy fit but the longer length made it ok to wear (with boots) to a gallery opening. It is very stretchy, so the skirt can be worn as long as shown in the photo or shorter. If this is worn shorter, it can easily be a dress more appropriate for a club. Even when worn longer, guys will check you out! I rented this as a backup dress for a formal event - the fabric is definitely not appropriate for a formal.

Figure flattering, extremely comfortable and versatile Little Black Dress

To meet my boyfriend's parents for the first time at a wedding, I wanted to show some skin in a slightly conservative way. This did the trick. The cut and detailed stitching makes it gently cling in all the right spots, highlights your collarbone, accentuates your waist. Material was warm enough for a November evening in SF (indoor - I wore a black Louis Vuitton shawl when chilly),could be worn in summer too. I have not worn Donna Karan before and was nervous about the fit. XS was perfect. For context, I'm a 24 or 25 in jeans (think JBrand or Rag & Bone cut) very petite but do have some curves. Extremely pleased with the fit and the whole RTR process was fantastic.

STYLIST REVIEW

This dress was SUPER comfortable. I was surprised at the material at first, but after that, fell in love with the jersey material. It has a ton of stretch to it, but is also formal enough for a cocktail wedding or a date night out. It definitely has versatility. The top can be tricky to get on, so when you first try it on, you may need a friend's assistance! All in all, a great option that can be worn to just about any occasion!

comfy fabric, flattering ruching and great length for taller ladies!

Very classy and a great choice for a work event. I am tall so I have a hard time finding dresses that aren't too short and this was perfect!

Fancy and fun!

This dress looked great looking at it straight on, but the way this dress drapes in the front (especially at the waist) is not as flattering for an hourglass shaped body as I'm sure it would be for a more slender frame, just FYI....if you're more of an hourglass or pear shape, maybe go for a more body hugging dress....when I turned to the side the draping made me look thicker around the middle than I was...even with a 24'' waist....other than that it was comfortable, elegant, and the neckline was beautiful. Would definitely recommend for the right body type. p.s. I'm normally an XS but only a S was available for the dates I needed in this dress...not sure exactly how the proper size would've changed the fit around the waist, but the draping was still pretty dramatic.

confusing and hard to get on- would be much better on a tall super thin body for sure!

Also more casual that i thought it would be. Nice dress just not for the event i had in mind or my body type.

Nice concept, but not a great dress

I planned to wear this to an engagement party but ended up not wearing it. The fit was okay, a little tighter than I would have liked but would be too big if I went a size up. The concept of the dress is great, however the fabric was terrible. True it's jersey and I knew that beforehand, but after all the rentals and washes this had gone through the dress was extremely pilled. SKIP

Just okay.

This dress fit true to size. I planned to wear it for a gala at which I was volunteering. The style was great, however the material felt heavily worn. It was like wearing an old jersey sheet; pilling, etc. I was very disappointed because the style of the dress is beautiful.

Not what I thought it would be

I wore this to the opera. It was very complicated to put it on. The way the material is wrapped, it took me 20 minutes to figure out where the proper opening were. It is almost like a large ace bandage. It looked very pretty if you never moved. This dress rode up all night and the shoulders kept riding up. It never looked "neat". Thank goodness I was just sitting at the opera and not at an event were I had to walk around or dance. I don't think I would have made it through the night. I loved all of the dresses I have rented here, but this one fell very short. Nonetheless, the RTR experience was as awesome as ever. Didn't care for the dress, but love RTR!

Not a formal dress.

I love the picture and have been admiring this dress since it became available on Rent the Runway. I have a similar shape to the model and thought this dress would be perfect for me. When it arrived, I was immediately disappointed because the "jersey" material made the dress basically into a long black T-shirt. Not dressy at all. I am 5"10 - never occurred to be that this dress would be way too much fabric for my frame. More importantly, the design is so strange that it was nearly impossible to get the dress on properly. The layers of the dress do not lie properly and it twists so much that it does not lie right. Even the off the shoulder part scrunched up and looked strange. Hard to imagine that this dress retails for $1,995. Really not even remotely a couture look. All of that said, however, Rent the Runway was fabulous - I contacted them as soon as I realized that the dress was unwearable and they offered to refund the rental fee.
