Based on others' reviews, I sized up! (Typically I would wear XS, but I rented a S). I can definitely say the dress was STILL very short, and I'm only 5'5". I would not recommend this dress for tall people. Having said that, it's a VERY cute dress. It's knit, so it'll keep you warm. I was "unfortunate" that it was a beautiful sunny fall day, so I was running a little hot in the dress. I paired it with tights though because of how short it was.

I'm glad I read reviews & sized up in this one... even so the sleeves are still an eensy bit short but not enough to be an issue. After two c-sections this isn't the most flattering dress on me from the side even with shaper tights on but it's pretty cute overall so I don't care that much. I found it to be an appropriate length for work with opaque tights.

This stretchy dress is flattering on a petite frame thanks to alternating thick and thin stripes. The deep colors are ideal for fall/winter use and is just right for work with tights. The ruffle along the bottom is a cute addition to an otherwise pretty simple dress. The sleeves aren't too long, actually end a little bit before my wrist, but works for me since I like to wear bracelets and watches. There's no bunching around that area.

Wore this for a work conference, where I was sitting in classes for the majority of the day. It is super comfortable and easy to wear, great colors, great fit. It is pretty short, definitely needs tights!! A fun, unique dress for work!!

I rented this dress for my sorority's 70s themed date party and it was perfect. This dress had a lot of stretch and was very cozy which was great considering it was below freezing that night. Extremely comfortable dress and I definitely would have worn it for a date night, family or work event!

This dress was super comfortable. I wore the medium because although the small fit, it was too short for my comfort. It's stretchy enough to feel good but not too loose. Loved the pattern. Only con as someone whose an Inverted Triangle shape, I wished the skirt part flared out a bit more to give my lower body more balance. Overall a good weekend brunch dress.

I rented the dress for an outdoor charity event in October. It was ~50 and windy, so I knew I've had to layer up to stay warm. I rented this dress in a M and L in anticipation of needing to wear layers under the dress. I opted with the Large day of due to the layers, but the M was also a great fit. The dress itself is a great sweater material, the colors are a nice pop of color, which are true based on the photos.

Would definitely rent again. Really warm and flattering for fall/winter. I wore with tights and riding boots and was super comfy. The sleeves were a little short on me but not in a way that looked awkward. Multiple compliments.

This sweater was extremely cozy and comfortable! I loved this preppy sweater dress by Cupcakes and Cashmere. Running a little on the large side with a lot of stretch, I recommend wearing your true size and going down for your back-up. It works best for all cup sizes. I am normally between Sizes 8 & 10 and the Medium fit fine. At 5'6 and a half, the dress falls mid thigh on myself so it may be a little to short for those over 5'5, and for those below that height it should fall right at the knee. All in all, pair this with your favorite pair of open toe heels or knee high boots on a fall day and it's the perfect sweater dress!

I'm 5'4 with an athletic build. It's short on me (have to be creative and careful bending down) but it's soooo cute. If you have it, I definitely recommend wearing black tights under for safety/ look more chic. I wore this dress a million times before returning.

I really loved this dress from the pictures! I felt super confident with the fit except the length is super short. I had to wear full leggings - not stockings - under neath. I'm 5'6 and if you bend over your behind would be exposed - or the top control top of the stockings would show.

Great fit & flirty & I didn't wear spanx . Kinda wish I would've gone the extra mile for a completely SNATCHED LOOK but next time. The sleeves are a bit shorter than I would've liked & It's on the shorter side but I wore tights so it wasn't a big deal . Overall an amazing dress for a party . Cute dress. Very snug fit. And a little on the short side. I'm 120lb and 5ft 7in....I should of got a medium bc it was a little snug but stretchy. Overall cute but if you normally wear a small get a medium.

After reading the reviews I decided to stick with my normal sizing and order the medium. I have rented from sweater dresses from this designer before and found the medium fit perfectly. Once I put it on, I wish I had listened to the reviews and sizes up. The dress was shorter than I would have liked, so I wore tights to make it office appropriate. I also found the length on the sleeves to be short so I had them rolled up most of the day. The designed of the dress is super cute and the strips are very flattering. The material is very comfortable and warm. I loved the little flare at the bottom! Overall I did like this dress a lot, I just ordered the wrong size.

Great colors and cozy material for fall. Paired with tights and knee high chocolate boots. It's made of thick sweater material, ribbed, making it form fitting without being overly tight. Very comfy and soft. Length was a bit short so I'm glad I sized up. Otherwise it would have probably been way to short and tight for work. Still, I think the length would have been better if it were longer on me and I'm petite! I did find myself pulling the dress down from time to time as I thought it rode up a bit. If you're thick waisted like me, you may want to consider that the horizontal stripes may not be the most figure flattering. Overall cute dress. I wore twice and got compliments.

loved this dress-- worked great with tights for a casual work dress. The rib knit is definitely form fitting but thick enough that it's flattering and doesn't feel too exposed.

I really liked this dress. Thanks to a previous reviewer who said it ran small - it does! Also, yes it is short tho at 5' 2" I can get prob get away without tights (obv in picture I did wear tights). My only complaint is that ruffle showed a little pilling. It was perfect for work to out date on a Fall day. Will order again! xx

This was a very comfy dress! I was a bit nervous as I have the tendency to overheat quickly and the dress is made of a sort of sweater fabric, however I was pleasantly surprised - I didn't melt! The only reason I didn't give this dress five stars is because it kept riding up. It's a tad short so I'd suggest wearing tights or shorts underneath. Overall good rental!

I thought this was a cute dress. It is very fitted, and very short. I'm 5'3" and it grazed the bottom of my butt. If I leaned over a bit, everything would show. I got this for a girls trip to LA. I didn't need tights there. I ended up not wearing because who knows after a night of drinking with my friends. :p. It was also looking a little pill-y. Could tell its been worn a lot even though it's not stretched out.

This was a cute sweater dress, but at 5'3 this was more of a long sweater with a ruffle at the bottom. It was too short to wear as a "dress" for the office, but with opaque tights/leggings it was fine.

This is a great casual dress. It looks tiny on the hanger but when I put it on it stretched in all the right places. It's definitely short. I only wore it with leggings and booties. I think it would be really cute with heels but it might be too short for that. Usually I don't go for horizontal stripes but because they are different sizes and the middle one is thin, these stripes actually make you look thinner! I love it so much I bought it.

This was my first rental, and I love it so much that I plan on purchasing it. This can easily work for a casual outing with friends or a date. While some reviews noted that the length is rather short, it was perfect for my 5'5 frame. I also loved that it hugged my waist-there was no need for my standard belt to emphasize my curves. Perfection.
