I did read the other reviews before I ordered this dress but I was still interested in trying it. I did not feel the dress was matronly at all. It is on the short side (maybe 3 inches above the knee). The dress is also sleeveless under the sheer 'cape' overlay. And I loved the sheer 'cape' - it had nice movement to it and really made the dress. I also thought the color was gorgeous. The dress has pockets and was super comfortable for me at my event. This dress does need some nice chunky jewelry (I went with the necklace shown on the model). I got several compliments on the dress at the wedding I attended.

Really gorgeous color, but the chiffon over the chest area felt, as another reviewer put it: "matronly." Love Christian Siriano's designs, but this one seems to miss the mark a bit. The back of the dress is really lovely and has fun motion when you walk, dance or a breeze blows, but this one is definitely conservative and better suited to an older client. I wore the necklace shown, though, and that added a bit of trendiness where the dress was lacking just that. The fit is definitely quite straight, so if you have any hips, you will want to size up.

This dress did not work for me, I didn't end up wearing it. It did nothing for my figure and was way too matronly.
