Heavy denim dress
It's co so you already know it will run huge. I'm a 6/8 and the small was big on me. Loved the oversized look though, and the fabric is heavy and warm. Would rent again!

Size WAY DOWN
I rented this from the store. I had a hard time finding the size so I just picked one that looked right. I thought It was really interesting when I tried it on. It wasn't until I got home that I saw it was a medium (I wear a 16). I think I would not have liked it if I had gotten my actual size. I got compliments on the dress all day. It's simple but there is something about it that makes it stand out.

Very comfortable dress for cool spring/fall weather
This dress felt like a casual alternative to a trench dress. Fit was almost perfect: waist hit me 1-1.5 inches above my actual waist (approx. 18 inches from shoulder); cap sleeves made it a bit awkward to lift one's arms. The cut is modest and modern and forgiving (would have been also perfect for during or after pregnancy). The dress can be cinched more or less. The fabric is heavy thick jean. Wore it to work and for a weekend outing with the children.

Very heavy and drapey
I'm 5'2" and 118 pounds for reference. It's a lot of fabric and drapes around very heavy. Kind of liked the feel of the heavy fabric but not the look. Inevitably it looks baggy. It was fun for a day.

Retro vibe. Size down.
Glad I got the large size for winter so I could layer. Would love to rent again in spring/summer in a smaller size. This is a fun one to accessorize. So comfy. Big pockets. Lots of potential! Reminds me of something my grandma would have worn in the 70s with oversized costume jewelry and some cute wedges.

Like wearing a tent!
Other reviews said it runs large so size down. But pics looked ok, so I went with my usual size (L) thinking I could just cinch it nice and tight. When I took it off the hanger I was shocked at how huge it is! To help those unsure of size or whether to rent, I took a pick with it fully open and my daughter holding out the sides. I am a size 10, 5'9. Yes, I could cinch it up, but it's heavy denim so hard to do and remains very bulky. The top/neckline also did not look right, and the collar laid funny.

This dress is enormous
Runs large is an understatement. I couldn't even cinch the dress down and there were at least 6 inches of fabric that stuck out from the side of my rib. I'm not sure what kind of sizing this is but I'm pretty for it's for a giant. I sized down based off the other reviews to a small (2-4) but it hon early fit me like something sized 14. I'm between a 6-8. I would need an XXS in this to make it work. Unbelievable sizing

Everyday luxury for the life I have…
…not the one I think I should have/sushi have/pretend to have. Indestructible. Reliable. Gorgeously constructed. Headed for a visit to my partner’s ninety eight year old nana soon. (Possibly to la escuelita with thick tights and knee-high boots in the might-be-second-real-snowfall tomorrow.)

Highly recommend! This dress is loose and perfect for layering bit does run large. I usually wear a small and was still able to layer a cropped sweatshirt underneath for casual Friday.

This is a pretty indigo denim, heavy but soft. You pull in a lot of fabric at the drawstring, but it comes off in a flattering way. Liked it!

Comfortable cool-girl style
I didn't love this one as much as the gorgeous yellow version (the denim is a bit heavy and just not as fun as the yellow) but it is a fantastic dress and is great as a wear-anywhere summer garment that you don't have to worry about getting dirty. Borderline Amish/modest=hottest style so be ready to feel like you can own that. Versatile and looks good over a long-sleeve tee. Equally fun with strappy stilettos, chunky sneakers, or anything in between. Snaps down the front make me wonder why every designer doesn't use this to get the look of fabric-covered buttons without the hassle. Waist tie is stiff but will cinch in more than you think to give an hourglass look.

Yes, it runs large and yes, you are going to love this dress! The fabric is on the heavier side, but perfect for spring since it's not too hot out. I loved the pockets too! I would definitely rent this dress again!

Great day dress once you figure it out!
About the sizing: Yes, the dress is super huge. I almost sent it back without even trying it on, it was so clearly huge. However, I was impressed by the fabric (sturdy but soft denim), the color and the quality (high). I ended up visiting a few shopping sites (Co, Nordstrom, NM) to see what the dress looked like on their models. Conclusion: This season, there are a lot of oversized dresses out there. Co is high, modern fashion label and I think the intent is that the dress have an exaggerated/voluminous skirt and more tightly fitted top. I was able to make the dress work for me by tightly gathering the belt and evenly distributing the folds around the whole dress, which actually took some doing. Yes, the skirt was still really huge, but it looked cool with the deep folds. Instead of sending back, I loved wearing it all day and am not sending it back for a while. It paired well with a pair of flat mules. Other notes: The waist is really high and the dress is pretty long I'm between 5,7 and 5,8 felt like it was mid shin. Any longer on me and it would have gone back. I ordered an XL based on the RTR sizing notes but could easily have worn a L and maybe even M, which are sizes I wear often. Again, I think the intent is that billowy look and if you can pull it off, it's a great look for spring!

Unique
Pros: comfortable and adjustable. It's a cute denim dress that's different than most. Depends: the denim is heavy. I wore it out during an LA summer night and it was actually just warm enough but it would have been too hot to wear during the day. This is not a summer dress.

A little eccentric
The fit is definitely large, so I sized down. I pulled the belt as tight as it would go! And even though I'm not sure it's flattering, I absolutely love it. I've worn it 4 times now, with silver and black booties and rocker sunglasses so it doesn't look so 70s art teacher.

This was cute, casual and comfortable.
RUNS HUGE. It was not wearable for me, and I love loose clothes. I'd size down a couple. It was large in arms, waist, body...It is supposed to be baggy, but I looked lost in it. It is really well made, and would have been very flattering were it not too large for me.

Cool retro vibes
This dress made me feel like a vintage vixen while being very comfortable. It was a bit tricky to cinch the waist, but once that was accomplished the nipped-in waist made for a striking silhoutte. Breastfeeding friendly because of the snaps at the top and ample room in the bust! I usually wear a 4/6 (which can be small or medium), but I think I could have even fit into the XS. The S was fine, and oversized in a hip way. I also appreciated the softness of the denim fabric.

It runs quite large if you're hourglass shape. the top is a cool cut and I like the cinching, but it was so much excess it was still fitting loose. I wouldve sent back for a new size but that seems wasteful! wore it for a meeting. (POCKETS ARE KEY!)

While the drawstring middle can be adjusted quite a bit, it was still too big. Size down. Otherwise, I think this piece could be really cute.

Too large, too heavy
Ordered the small (usually a 6 in dresses) and it still swallowed me. I tried to tighten it as much as possible with the drawstrings but the fabric is too heavy to try to wear oversized. I returned without wearing.

This dress runs huge
This dress was unwearable. I got a size small and it was easily an XXL. It was an odd very heavy almost jean weight denim. Not a good dress. You couldn't cinch the belt tight enough at the waist and trust me I don't have a particularly small waist.

Odd & Awkward -- Better on the Hanger
This was a miss. For this style to work, it needs a much lighter-weight denim. I happily donned its sister style in yellow/mustard a few weeks ago, and it was so fabulous I wore it three times in one rental period. However, this denim version is a disaster. Well-made and sturdy for sure, but definitely not flattering, comfortable or even on-trend. Because the idea is that the dress be slouchy, the cinched belt doesn't cinch as tight as necessary to have a chance at being stylish. I found myself pulling it so hard I knew it would rip if I kept going. So I gave up and can't wait to swap it out.

Too Much Fabric
I listened to the other reviewers and ordered a size down; however, the amount of material was so voluminous that it didn't matter. I am larger on the bottom and even this didn't help after gathering the fabric by using the belt. I sent it back immediately.

Way too big and difficult to tie tightly enough around waist.
Could have been cute but the drawstring was so tough I couldn't cinch the waist enough for it to not look ridiculously large. Also the collar was all wonky - like it needed a real good ironing.
