This dress was hevay coming out of the box, but as other reivews stated, you couldn't tell once it was on! Two downfalls: tight in the chest region, and defintiely shorter than i expected; but, overall I got lots of compliments and overall liked the rent!

I had no idea when I rented this that it was leather! It is HEAVY! I wouldn't recommend it for summer in the heat. That being said, it was an amazing dress. It was very different without being odd. Everyone loved it. Warning-- you will have major cleavage! If you have really big boobs, you may want to rethink it, or your boobs will be at your chin!

This dress runs VERY true to size. Once it's zipped up, there is very little wiggle room in the rib cage area. The material, which looks just like leather, doesn't have much give but looks so great on. I received compliments all night. The dress is very heavy (short, but weighed like 6 pounds!) so I wouldn't recommend it for a hot outdoor affair.

I loved this dress! It was so unique since it was 100% leather. The leather makes it really flattering since it is so heavy. You do not have to worry about any wrinkles either which was nice. The dress isn't sparkly (which I was fine with) but the way the dots are placed it makes it look like it is, plus the leather gives it a sheen. Also, it is pretty low cut. The only thing is, I do not think I would actually pay $400 dollars to rent any dress. My first option came back damaged and so I was told I could pick out any price dress as a replacement and I couldn't have been happier! Rent the Runway has great customer service.

This dress is stunning! Perfect fit, heavy at first, but glides on you like a glove and hugs you in all right places. Very comfortable to wear all night and you don't worry about wrinkles and pulls, if it'd had sequins and such. It was a perfect choice for me and I highly recommend it!

I ordered an 8 and a 6, and while both fit, the 8's zipper was broken, so I went with the 6. The 8 would've been more comfortable, but I wore the 6 all night without problems. The dress is black with white dots, and the fabric has a bit of a sheen, depending on the light. The white dots are not affected by black lights (disappointingly). I loved the heavy weight of the leather, and the white dot pattern was really interesting. I got many compliments on the dress and it's flattering shape on me. The neckline was low, but flattering, and I could wear a regular bra. Speak of which, the 8 was a little too roomy up top, but I could've worn a push up bra to fill it out a bit (and I'm already a 34DD). I love this dress and would highly recommend it.

Absolutely loved this rental. The material is more of a charcoal shimmer leather with tiny white dots vs a grey shimmer as it appears in the picture so I was a little surprised to see that it was a lot darker than expected - but it was still nice and caught the light at different times throughout the night. Also be prepared for the dress to come out of the box weighing like 10 pounds lol - it's heavy - but it's not a bad thing because it falls nicely. Once it's on you don't notice the weight. I'm on the east coast and it's great for this time of year. Don't be afraid to give this a try if you have less than washboard abs! Because of the weight and thickness of the fabric, the Supernova dress is pretty forgiving. It is cut a little lower than most v neck dresses but you can still wear a regular bra with no problem. I got a ridiculous amount of compliments and glances in this one - the dress is stunning in appearance and is also extremely flattering. It's a fun dress, go for it.

I rented both a size 0 (my usual size) and a size 2 (backup). The 0 fit perfectly everywhere except the bust- this dress is probably better suited to someone with a more petite bust since there is no stretch in the fabric. If you wear anything larger than a D or DD cup I would definitely recommend going up a size larger than you think you'll need. I ended up gong with the 2, which was a little loose everywhere else but didn't squish my chest. However, the fit-and-flare shape does do a great job of showing off a smaller waist. I wish I could have kept this dress! Pros: -fabric was a beautiful shimmery grey, and was obviously high quality -v-neck is very flattering Cons: -very heavy, was a little hot in Southern California heat

This was a fantastic dress! Since it was leather, it was pretty heavy and hot, but the weight and stiffness make me feel more comfortable and secure. The neck was quite low, but given the thickness of the fabric and my small chest, I was able to go without a bra. I was comfortable all night and so happy with this dress!

I generally wear a size 0 in dresses but because this dress is leather, it is stiff until you have worn it for a while and it has zero give in putting it on. Thus, I opted for the size 2. Overall, it fit amazing and was so flattering (pictures don't do it justice). I loved this dress and wish I owned it! Would recommend to anyone and would definitely rent again. It is heavy but is an amazing dress.

This dress looks like a sparkly silver sheen online but in person it is more like a bauble galaxy of tiny circles on leather! The dress literally fit like a glove and was very heavy. I didn't mind the weight because the quality was insane! Its a very retro/spacey type look in person, and I adored wearing it for my best friends wedding. (Her wedding was 80's themed.)Warning! I am not sure if you have boobs. but if you do you will need to size up. Im rocking the sternum pretty hard(very small chest) and a 0 fit perfect, BUT if I had them, I know it would not have fit at all!~

This dress doesn't have any stretch, but it fits exactly to size. The texture of the leather is amazing, and the dress hung really well. It is quite heavy, though, as you would expect from leather, and almost feels like an apron for a minute when you put it on, but you get used to it quickly. The inside is very soft, so it's wearable without a bra. I got tons of compliments and would definitely rent it again!

This was a great dress. I thought I could maybe do the 2 since I can go between a 2 and a 4 but the 4 was definitely more comfortable to wear and I could dance all night. I loved how the heavy material felt once I put it on, it was so secure. The neckline was just low enough to where I felt sexy but not too overwhelming for a wedding, especially since I don't have big boobs. I loved that I could wear a normal bra with it as well! The hemline was the perfect length, right about mid thigh which I loved.

Beautiful dress!! Very flattering despite being a bit thick and heavy! Due to a larger chest I had to go up a size so I wouldn't be so restricted and would feel more comfortable! Perfect length! The fullness of the skirt also added a lot of movement. Like most reviews stated the cleavage area is a bit much, but still classy! Overall a fantastic dress!! Highly recommend this for many occasions!

I wore this to a black tie affair, and it was perfect! Fits true to size. The dress is very heavy, which I loved. The heavy fabric made dancing easier. There isn't very much stretch to the fabric, so I definitely wouldn't go down a size. I was worried about the length because the measurement wasn't on the site, but it wasn't a problem. I'm 5'9" and have a very long torso, but it still hit mid thigh. I would highly recommend!

This is a standout dress. It has a beautiful shimmery pattern unlike anything I've ever seen. The dress fits beautifully! It has a flirty A-line shape that was perfect for dancing and defines the waist nicely. It has a deep V-neck, so keep that in mind if you have a bigger chest.. The fabric is heavy, which you should take into consideration if you'll be wearing for more than 5 or 6 hours. I would wear this again!

The photo is a little dark. The dress is beautiful in person. The leather is sumptuous and the pattern catches the light and draws you in. The style is a little different from what I normally wear. Nonetheless, I received many random compliments when I wore it. Thank you RTR

Fit PERFECT. Zipper was a bit tough; flashes bluish but dress was silver/gray & incredibly heavy. Squeezes the bust area pretty tight but all in all... WOW! I wish I owned it!

I felt very good in this dress and it was super flattering. However, after about a few hours (it was a wedding) the dress became so overwhelming heavy that I got horrible knots and pains in my back and shoulders. I wouldn't rent it again but it looked really great for the night!

I ordered this dress in an 8 and 6 because the 10 was not available and ordering the 6 made me feel optimistic! However I wore the 8, and I felt great in it, if you are busty though expect your boobs to look fantastic as it is very snug in that area once the dress is on. Wore it for my best friends wedding (the guy in the picture) and received nothing but compliments all night. It feels heavy but once you have it on you forget about how heavy it was. Very easy to move around in and I was not concerned about it being too short in the back! Would definitely rent this one again !!!

I felt so beautiful in this dress. I am typically a 4 but always rent a 6 for my backup, just in case, so I was nervous when the 6 wasn't available. But thankfully, the 4 fit like a glove! So it's definitely true to size. As others have said, the dress is a bit heavy but you don't really notice that once it's on. The dress is real leather and such a great quality. It's a matte gray but how the sun or light hits it, it gives the illusion of shimmer without being too sparkly, if that makes sense. It is a beautiful & unique dress & I got tons of compliments! I would definitely recommend.

I like the style, I'm size 8, 5'4" and weigh around 143lbs, the dress was really tight but they didn't have a larger size for back up, being all leather is a little heavy but not uncomfortable

Absolutely gorgeous dress! However, it was poorly packed, causing a deep crease in the leather. I called the Rent the Runway help line and was instructed that I could take the dress to a cleaner to get the crease out and they would reimburse me up to $30. At my local cleaners, I was informed that leather requires a special cleaner and the dress would need to be shipped off for a week. It was the day of the event, so I was forced to wear the smaller of my two size options to the wedding I was attending. Still got lots of compliments, but was pretty uncomfortable and wished I could have worn the other size because it fit perfectly. First time using Rent the Runway and it wasn't a good experience.

The 2 fit great except I couldn't smash my boobs in there. Had to wear 4 and it was very loose everywhere else. However, LOVE the texture of the dress.

I am a size 2 or 4, but the 4 was not available so I ordered the 2 and 6. Unfortunately the 4 would have been the perfect size as the 2 was a bit suffocating and the 6 was too large. I wore the 2 anyway. It is an absolutely beautiful dress and got tons of compliments. It is real leather without stretch and it gives you a great shape. It has a pebbled, textured appearance. It is not heavy once you put it on. If you are going to an ultra conservative event it may not be for you because you will definitely have cleavage.

fits VERY tight in the body/rib cage, suggest getting a size up to zip. VERY heavy but once on doesn't feel as heavy. leather-like feel to it.

My original rental for my 30th birthday was damaged by a prior renter, so RTR allowed me to upgrade to any style, regardless of price. I took the opportunity to look for something that I knew I would never be able to rent on my own, and it was amazing! As others have said, the dress is heavy, but not cumbersome to wear. The cut is superb and it fit like a glove. Only issue was when I sat down for dinner the whole thing shifted up, as it isn't terrible flexible. Also, the design is a lot of little white/gray dots, which give it a subtle shimmery effect, but the dress itself is definitely not shiny/sparkly/shimmery. I added the belt because, why not, it was my birthday and I wanted some bling. :) Overall a totally amazing dress and one that I wish I could wear again.

The fabric on this dress is super thick and sturdy, which makes it look nice - but it's not very comfortable. It was tight in the waist, but the chest was too big on me and I kept having to adjust it so half my bra wouldn't show.

I wanted to love this dress but it just doesn't give at all so if you are busty forget it. It is very heavy and no good for summer even though it is sleeveless.

This dress looks so rich because it is made of such great material. The material also made me feel very comfortable all day long since it was thick I never needed to worry about "sucking in" my stomach. I got so many compliments!

The leather texture of the dress felt heavy on the hanger but felt almost weightless on. The dress is a little pricey for a rental for one night, and if I had to pay full price for the rental I'm not sure I would have spent it on a dress for only one night, but this dress was amazing on and totally worth it!

Loved this dress! I was hesitant since I am 5’3 and have a petite frame, but the length of the dress was appropriate for a wedding, and the tightness of the top portion helped to balance the pleating at the bottom. As mentioned in other posts, this dress is low cut and gives you cleavage; for the Church ceremony I felt I needed to wear a jacket over the top. Other than that, didn’t want to send it back! You can tell it is an expensive, and well made dress- fits like a glove.
