I'm short so it hit my legs mid-calf which was fine, I just paired it with 5 inch heels to balance it out. I wore a 4 but probably could have worn a 2 if it had been available. I have a small chest so I was able to just wear a stick on bra and felt fine. Even though it's long-sleeved I wore it to an outdoor black tie wedding in the summer and never felt overheated. The material is a good weight, not too thin or too heavy. As others have mentioned, the open underarm area does take a few minutes to get used to… But after that you won't notice it. I would love to own this dress! I will probably rent this again.

It was form fitting which is what I wanted, but if you are under 5'7 it might be too long.

This dress looked and fit great. Really form fitting. The only bad thing was that the liner hung low.

I was skeptical of the fit with the arms but it turns out I loved this dress! The length was perfect for me. It may be too long for others but I have long legs and have trouble finding a long enough "short dress" that is appropriate for a wedding ( especially the church portion!). The material was amazing. I was so surprised at how thick it was, it kept everything in the right place. The open top of the back added a slight sexiness for the dress that was perfect for the reception. I am so glad I picked this for the winter wedding I attended! I wish I needed a reason to rent it again! I had an amazing first experience with rent the runway.

I was completely covered for a work party yet so sexy. The material is matte, thick and super stretchy. I don't have many curves but this dress just emphasized everything in the right way. I cannot even believe how much I loved it. Fantastic for a straight up and down/boyish body. It's not going to work if you have big arms or very broad shoulders. The cut of the DRESS is very forgiving but the open armpit design of the attached shrug snuggles up to the soft part of your under arm. If thats a trouble spot, just don't do it. Its not meant to cover fat arms, its meant to show off skinny ones. My dress had a busted clasp that dug into my neck. I have to say that that was my only disappointment because Ive read that comment several times and assumed RTR would be repairing the dresses but.. obviously not a deal breaker. I stopped feeling it after my first glass of wine. LOVE this dress.

Wore to a wedding, received compliments and felt very pretty

Perfect fit, great fabric, the lining did slip down a bit and I had to readjust a couple of times. EVERY person at the party complimented me on this dress. Once you get the arms right it is very comfortable and not weird at all as I thought it might be! Also my armpits stayed cool so that was nice! lol. LOVE this dress!

The dress fit true to size, has a nice subtle exposure of arms and back, with a proper midi length for my height (i'm 5' 10"). It was lovely -- fabric was a pretty flat cotton, which I didn't LOVE, but it worked (as opposed to a rich knit).

This dress was absolutely wonderful. I definitely agree with other reviewers that it does run large. I am usually an 8, but the 6 fit perfectly. Also, being 6'2" tall, the length of the dress was great - and appropriate for a fall wedding. The 'armpit holes' took a second to get used to, but they really add a hint of fun to an otherwise simple dress. I never knew you could get so many compliments on a dress with a conservative length and neckline. :) I had a blast in the dress and wish it was in my closet permanently.

Loved, loved, loved it! It fit perfectly. The material is thick (and somewhat stretchy) so it holds everything together. I was worried how the sleeves would fit but I didn't have any issues whatsoever. It is a longer dress but with the cut and fit, the length adds elegance and class. I had so many compliments on it (my friend even sent me a picture of Britney Spears in the same dress). All-in-all, it made me feel beautiful and that's all that matters! I highly recommend.

I LOVED this dress. The fabric was tight yet forgiving, the neckline was so interesting, and the length was perfect. Definitely got a lot of compliments, and felt great dancing in it all night long. I really wish I could keep it.

Nice snug fit, thick fabric. This is a very faltering dress.

Pros: Perfect fit for hourglass, pear shaped or even athletic builds; thick fabric and lining that hid bumps and bulges. Con: Not exactly a con, but a tip: The back sits at an odd level which makes it a bit tricky to to wear with a strapless. I found myself having to adjust its height throughout the night.

This dress was perfect. Fit me perfectly and I didn't have to wear a bra which is a huge plus! When I don't have to wear one I am a very happy gal it was form fitting enough to keep the puppies up and you couldn't notice I wasn't wearing one. The dress does not wrinkle or ride up or move. I didn't have to adjust anything which i was worried about due to the attached but not attached sleeves. The only negative and it wasn't really that noticeable was the clasp around your neck can irritate you a little. So for those who have super sensitive skin I would maybe get a band aid to put underneath it. But other than that it was perfect. I would rent it again if I didn't have so many pictures it ;)

Perfect for every shape height LOVE

This is a cold weather dress with its long sleeves and heavier fabric. The fit us exquisite and tight in a comfy way. LOTS of compliments!!!

Women appreciate this dress more than men so don't get this for a date unless it's for an ultra conservative event. This dress is not cocktail attire either. But if you want to WOW at a high-profile business meeting you will totally dominate in this number. The back is sexy, your shoulder blades are exposed so bra straps are a no-no. Wear it with colossally tall heels and either a chic clutch or bag. I wore it with a large Hermes cuff over the fabric and a Jimmy Choo motorcycle bag and felt like a million bucks for my business dinner with both men and women. I am normally a size 00, so the 0 was a bit baggy around the hips by the end of the evening - a problem I'm sure is fixed each time it's dry cleaned. I am 100% renting this again. The fabric is heavy and warm - great for a winter meeting. Not great for a hot summer day. One of my RTR favorites!

It was so luxurious. The material felt rich and it was very nicely made. My only complaint is the hook & eye closure behind the neck kind of dug into my skin a bit. I also had to shorten it with hemming tape, but other than that it was amazing.

The fit runs large so def recommend sizing down. I wore this dress to my friend's bachelorette dinner cruise and after party. Its conservative yet sexy with the cut outs and the open back. Definitely a statement and very complimentary to the figure.

Getting the sleeves on are a bit tricky

This dress is a high quality thicker material which holds you in all the right places. The arms get a bit weird but once you get used to them it's not bad. Great length.

Loved everything about this dress, except that it was a bit large on my chest. I have small boobs and had to find an ultra-padded bra to fill the top part of it out. I'm usually between a 4 and a 6 in dresses, and the 4 fit best.

The dress fit well however the lining hung below the dress which I did not like. The top of the dress was amazing. The dress was a little long probably a 4 would have been perfect.

Wore this to my husband's office Christmas party. It's a very quality fabric so even though it's form-fitting, the look is classy and a bit conservative from the front. The back is obviously what makes this dress special. So I didn't feel the WOW factor until I was walking away. The reason I deducted a star is that it's not an easy fit. The nature of the sleeves and the neck closure, front slits, open back requires a lot of adjusting and readjusting throughout the night. I also had an issue with the dress creeping up and the lining peeking out.

This dress is not something you see everyday. It is tasteful without being too stuffy, the open back is just gorgeous. The thick fabric is very forgiving. It probably would have been even more slimming with spanx but since I was getting married the next day and would be wearing spanx for maaaany hours, I went without and it was fine. I found it to be a true size 12. The only issue I had was that the hanger straps kept poking out of the back. In hindsight, I should have just ticked them into my strapless bra. Very highly recommend this dress!

Great fit and material, lined and the back isn't too low. Did stretch out a bit towards end if night.

The neck hooks are very tight and made me feel a little uncomfortable all night. The sleeves were shorter on the 10 than the 8 but I ended up wearing the size 8. Fit like a glove and was a stunning dress with the back out.

The fit was great, but it was a nightmare trying to get the dress on without help. The clasp on the neck was kind of bothersome too.

The fit of the dress was wonderful. But someone wore out the lining it kept showing.

I wore this dress to attend a show and received so many compliments. The length is appropriate for so many different occasions and the sleeves kept me warm while adding style. Note: the sleeves are completely unattached from the dress. They clip behind the neck and show a good portion of your upper back. Though the "arm pit" cut outs may seem strange, they're incredibly flattering!

Sexy & chic. Wore this to my husband's 10 year college reunion. It was a conservative length and covered the arms, with unique cut-outs to show a little skin in the right places and still be sexy without being over-the-top. Curve-hugging all the way - lots of stretch. All that was available was the 10, so I wore Spanx and made it work. Even though the arms were snug, the dress fit comfortably all night due to the stretch in material. So, if one needed to, I think they could get away with a smaller backup size.

Great dress that I felt confident in- only complaint is that the fabric is a bit itchy.
