I wore this to the Kentucky Derby and it was perfect. Gorgeous and comfortable! What a combination. Loved the pockets--had my sunglasses and phone ready without having to keep them in a small bag. The colors are beautiful. It's more silver than gray and the leaves have some black in them. Definitely runs large, so order one size down. Also much longer on the average girl than the model, who must be over 6'! It's tea length.

It is a classic cut dress, very pretty, sexy with it's old fashioned style. The material is stunning and different, people complimented it all night long. It ran big, I was sure I would need the 14, but the 12 was even a bit big on me, I likely could have squeezed into the 10. I liked that you could wear a normal bra with it and the neckline I felt was sexy because it covered so much up. The skirt is a little poofy, like a dress from the 50's, but it moved very nicely on the dance floor. LOVE the pockets, could not even see my phone in the folds of the skirt, very handy!!!

Strangers gave me compliments, as the dress does look elegant. I could have gone down a size.

The fabric and tailoring are really amazing, just the way the skirt is pleated it "puffs" out like that on its own, no need for a petticoat. The fit left a little to be desired though, it felt a little baggy in the waist and chest (not noticeably) and was tight around the arms, to the point where it was rubbing me a little raw towards the end of the night. I felt really lovely in the dress though, and it transitioned great from the ceremony all the way towards the end of the reception, around midnight. Also, it hit a little lower on me than the model in the photo, she must be super tall!

They didn't have the size of this dress I wanted, and informed me one day after I had already reserved the dress. (The customer service was great, allowed me to choose 5 other top choices, and shipped me the first available off of my preferences - which I got the Foliage Dress, and wore that one). But I fell in love with this dress on the website, and in person. It's rich in color, and lustrous. I was really sad that the size 4 was rather large on me. (I vary between 4 and 6 on this site, so I chose based off of the particular dresses dimensions and previous reviews). As you can see in the photos, I tried to modify the extra bagginess around my midsection with a belt. It didn't look bad at all, but the other dress just fit me so well, and with both being of similar style/cut, I went with the Foliage Dress. I will say, I loved that this dress had pockets, I loved the length, and I will most likely rent this one in the correct size again if another event comes up that warrants it.

This dress is very lady like. Appropriate for conservative events but eye catching and very lady like. I received many complements and was definitely noticed.The skirt is very full, if you are self conscious of your derriere like I am this may not be the dress for you. I wore a slip for security because the skirt bellowed out so much I didn't want to be embarrassed by a gust of wind. It is not my favorite, because of the fullness of the skirt and the bodice was roomy in the bust and tight around the arms. A smaller size may have worked but I would be concerned about the tight arm holes. I am 5'1" the length was good fell just below the knee.

The size 10 fit me perfectly everywhere, but the arms were a little tight, likely due to my muscular shoulders. It was a beautiful dress and I received so many compliments. It was also a little longer than I anticipated, but I felt like I was channeling a "Mad Men" housewife, which was perfect for my bridal shower.

Wore this to a wedding reception at a vineyard. I usually wear a 16, but the 14 fit me well. Very comfortable - lots of room for large bottom and hips as well as chest. Lots of compliments - loved the dress!

Gorgeous fabric, substantial enough I could forego a bra. Pockets are always a great feature. The armholes run very small, I was worried it was going to be a problem. It didn't end up getting too uncomfortable, though it did leave marks under my arms. I have broad shoulders and muscular upper arms, so for other ladies it may not be an issue.

This was not my original dress, but fortunately I live near a store where I was able to make an exchange. This dress was stunning - perfect for a wedding! The fit was great for a curvy girl - hitting just at the waist with the flare to hide the hips. It even had pockets!! The length was modest - but not too long for a shorter girl. The only complaint - and thus the 4 star review - as a busty girl, it was quite tight around the chest, and under the arms. I would definitely rent this one again!

My first choice was not available on the date needed, so I opted for this dress as my second choice. I received multiple compliments on the dress throughout the evening. My size generally runs between a size 2 and a 4, depending upon the manufacturer/designer. The dress does run on the larger side, but the 2 fit perfectly. Comments on quality issues: The dress arrived with distinct and noticeable stains. Down the front bodice of the dress as well as the skirt. There were also some snags on the skirt. I was incredibly disappointed, as I was leaving within a day's time to go out of town for this wedding. Thankfully, I had a backup dress of my own to wear. RTR customer service staff was incredibly responsive to my concerns. I was offered various options and I chose to take the dress to the dry cleaner and have them try to remove the stains. Luckily I had the day off and was able to secure same day service. The dry cleaner was able to remove most of the stains, improve the snagging and return the dress to me nice and clean, pressed and "shiny" (this dress has a lovely glow within the fabric). It is a lovely dress. I think my overall experience would have been much enjoyable had I not experienced what I did, but the responsive customer service representatives help make things "right".

I wasn't completely sure about this dress, but I had it rushed as a back up and ended up being quite happy with it! I got several compliments and the emcee of the wedding even announced to all the guests that I was "looking fabulous in this gorgeous dress." The fabric is super pretty. I wasn't too hot outdoors, and the yellow was a nice summery touch. AND POCKETS!!! Was slightly longer than most dresses I would wear... But that would be my only complaint.

"The most beautiful dress of the night" was the response I heard all evening. The fabric is truly beautiful, the fit was true to size. I am normally a size 10, the 10 fit me well except for being a bit tight in the arms so, I wore the 12 for better comfort. This dress was very comfortable, easy to dance in and I loved the pockets! This is a dress I will most definitely rent again.

I'd rent this dress again. It does have a full skirt so it's very comfortable to wear. The high next makes it easy to wear a standard bra. The dress can be dressed up for an evening event or worn with flats and a cardigan for a nice brunch.

This was the perfect Easter Sunday outfit Last minute and not what I picked but it was such a great backup!

I chose this dress to cover up my rear assets, and it was so full because of the weight of the material, it actually accentuated it!! LOL

Bust runs really big, waist runs big. I recommend sizing at least one size down from your regular size or else it will be shapeless and baggy on top. Otherwise, it's a very cute dress with an unusual print.

Beautiful fabric, but ran very large with a waist that sat too high for someone of my height. Would likely work better on someone 5'7" or shorter. When the fit is too high, the flair can make you look very bottom heavy, which is what happened here. I did not wear it.

I made the mistake of not trying this one on this the minute it arrived. Instead I tried it on the day before and realized it was way too big to wear. I usually wear an 8 so I ordered the 6 and 8. The 6 swam on me so I would recommend ordering at least 1 maybe 2 sizes down. It is a really pretty dress though with wonderful drape. Wish I could have worn it!

This dress runs a little large. I usually wear a 2/4 and I would have worn the 2 in this dress. I like the cut but the material was too silver for my taste. The picture makes it look more grey but in reality it is very silver.

The torso on this dress was closer to a size 8...I absolutely swam in it!

I thought it fit well and was comfortable. Fabric is a bit heavy for hot temps.

Love the pockets, I was able to have my essentials secured without a bag.

Carmen Marc Valvo is one of my favorite designers due to the quality of the dresses. When I got it, there was some fraying in the fabric, which would be typical after a lot of wear and tear. It does run large, so I should have gotten a 2 instead of a 4. Still, I got some compliments. I gave it 4 stars because of some fraying in the fabric. I would still rent a Carmen dress in the future.
