Fabulous sequin dress by Carmen marc valvo! Runny true to size I would recommend sizing up for your backup size. This dress is fitted at the bust and hips and I would recommend wearing spanxs. This dress doesn't have any stretch. I would recommend wearing this to a formal, or black tie event. I would recommend pairing this with black heels and a tear drop necklace.

The zipper is really hard! You will definitely need someone to help you get into the dress but it'll be worth it. I got tons of compliments!

This dress made me feel pretty and glamorous. It was flattering for my stomach and helped hide flaws. I preferred the long version since it accentuated the effect of the train. And the hemline higher in the front means you can still show off your shoes!! Other reviews suggested the cut of the bodice was too low but I found it nicely revealing but not gaudy.

This dress is all sequence and I am 5'6. You will have to wear heels 2 to 3 inches for it not to drag. I wore flats and made sure to pull it up to the side if I was walking around. My bust is a 44DD, this is a reason for me to wear a 22 to make sure there is room for the bust.

The fit of this dress was sensational. If you are looking for the WOW factor, this is the dress. It runs true to size without being to snug and makes you feel like the most beautiful person in the room.

I wore this to a wedding in San Antonio, TX in October. This gown made me feel so glam! It's true to size and I was able to wear a standard bra. The material didn't have any stretch and I do suggest sizing up as a backup, just in case. I stand at a towering height of 5'4" and I wore the regular length and it was perfect for my taste - it did show my entire foot/shoe but, that didn't bother me. My only complaint (and why I didn't give it 5 stars) was that the sequins scratched my arms so by the end of the night they hurt a bit. I would absolutely rent this again!

this dress fit nicely--the length was perfect. the sequins were beautiful, catching the light just enough to give it a little sparkle. cons--the sequins scratched the underside of my arms all night. wasn't so uncomfortable to make me want to change, but annoying. cons--deep plunging neckline; if you have a big bust and are conservative, this isn't your dress. pros--beautiful!! classic black sequins with just enough sparkle made me feel like i was a hollywood star at the oscars!

I wore this dress to a black tie optional event for work while 6 months pregnant. Before pregnancy I wore a size 14, and I haven't gained much weight; I think I've gained in my belly but lost a little everywhere else. I wore the 14 WR and it fit great! It fit over my stomach without being to tight at all. I'm 5'3" and currently weigh about 170#. The only downside is that this dress was a bit too low cut for a work event, but I pinned under the shoulder straps by about 3" and it was much more work appropriate. I have a short torso so I have to do the same with most dresses and tank tops; if you have similar problems then you'll probably have the same problem with this dress. It was an easy fix, though. Since I'm short I definitely couldn't pair it with flats or short heels without the back hem dragging the ground, so I wore 4" heels, though I probably could have gotten by with slightly shorter heels. The dress is very high quality, and absolutely gorgeous. I got compliments all night long. I highly recommend this dress; I would definitely rent it again.

RTR sent this to me when my 1st order did not fit. This dress looked amazing. I wore an embroidered peacock wrap with it. It's curvy and the patterns are beautiful. As others have said, the zipper was very hard to get up. My husband had to help quite a bit. And the area under the arms does chafe. But it looked amazing and I would rent it again and again for other things, or choose something with the exact same shape. I also liked the hi-lo feel to the cut at the bottom of the skirt and the flirty flounce to the skirt past the knees. The top gave the girls some nice support and I could wear a regular bra with it which was a bonus. It fit like a glove. I have a large chest and wide hips and a fairly small waist, so I'm an exaggerated hourglass. This was perfect for my figure. My husband liked it a lot too!

I ordered a 16w and a 14w. However, I received a 16 and a 14. The 16 fit perfectly. The 14 was a bit snug across the back. (I am in between sizes) This dress was not heavy and it moved beautifully. There was just enough stretch for it to be comfortable all night long. I wore 2 1/2 inch heels and the dress was the perfect length. I would order this gown again. Never thought I could pull off a mermaid style...

Slightly heavy and a little tight/scratchy near the armpits, but overall a great dress. It was nicely structured and a flattering cut. With shape wear underneath, I felt good in it.

Loved everything about this dress. The detailing was incredible. I loved being able to wear a regular bra, and the added details of being able to snap the bra under the straps was just a sign of the high end design. I was able to dance all night at a latino event comfortably. I could have fit into a size 12, but for the event with all of the dancing, I was happy to not be tucked in so snugly. I was in 2.5-3 inch heels, and the back end of the freshet the floor. While dancing I did have to sometimes raise it to continue dancing.

The dress was very flattering and for perfectly. I am a bit of a busty girl with a little bit of belly and I was very comfortable in this dress. Length was prefect with a 2 inch heel and I had no problem dancing in this dress once I switched to my flat shoes.

This was my first time using RTR and i am officially hooked! I had a formal work event and needed something with glam factor and this dress hit it out of the park. I got so many compliments throughout the evening and just felt beautiful. The only downside is that the sequins rubbed under my arms a bit but other than that the dress was amazing. Beautiful dress that made me feel like an old fashion movie star. It was very figure flattering and hugged my figure like it was meant for me right out of the bag. I ordered sizes 16 and 18 (I wear a size 12 in regular clothes) but have a curvy body and most designer dresses are hard for me to fit. I was wowed when both fit but I ended up wearing the 16 so that I could wear lower heels. The dress irritated under my arms a bit, but otherwise was very comfortable to dance/eat/sit/party in during the wedding. Very elegant - I highly suggest it!

I ordered this dress as a replacement after RTR notified me that my #1 choice would not be available in time. I had a masquerade ball at the close of a convention in New Orleans and I really wanted to look stellar. This dress turned out to be my favorite from the choices that came!! I'm usually 12 but ordered the 14 to be safe. It was just roomy enough to be comfy but still worked! The sequins are only slightly itchy under your arms but I didn't find it to be terrible!! I was able to wear a 2.5" heel and length was perfect. Very occasionally if I stepped backward, I'd catch the kick train with my heel but after a couple times, I just remembered to lift it first. LOVED this dress and got so many compliments!

This dress is very complimentary. I had an issue with the dress I originally ordered. Devin from RTR was extremely helpful and took away any and all stress I was having. I had two new dresses by 10 am the next morning. I received many, many compliments. The A line cut is perfect for any body type. The zipper was difficult. I think it's due to all the dry cleaning it goes through. The sequins didn't brother me at all. I wore the dress for approximately 8 hours. I wore a 3 1/2" heel with the dress and the length was perfect. I will be ordering again from RTR. I have two more weddings this year.

It was a beautiful dress that earned me lots of compliments at a company holiday party! The sequins are heavy enough to hide all kinds of flaws but it was comfortable to wear. Getting in and out of the car was a bit of a challenge due to the length and how fitted it was down my thighs. I was also worried about stepping on the back (it's longer than the front) with a heel and ripping it, so while on the dance floor I held the skirt up a few inches. Those were my only concerns though! I would definitely recommend this dress. It's a bit low cut at the chest, so be sure you have a bra that won't show.

The fit was true to size. I am fairly short and this dress was the perfect length with 3 inch heels. The only bad thing was the zipper was a little flimsy, but once it was zipped, it was perfect.

I wore this for a black tie event. I am 5'10" and the long length was almost too short. I had to wear the 16 because this dress has absolutely no stretch! The lining does not allow for easy in and out. The only thing that was a bother was that the dress kept riding up. Overall I had tons of compliments and felt great all night!

The beading detail was exquisite and ethereal. The bust and hips were generous but was fitted so it showed just the right amount of curves. I'm 5'6" and I wore a 2" heel and the length was just right. This was my first time using RTR and when I was told my original dress was no longer available I was a little skeptical about the whole thing but RTR emailed me and said I could pick any replacement dress and they would honor the price of my original dress. This was my replacement dress which arrived on time and with no wrinkles! I am very happy with RTR and will be renting again in the near future.

I wore this to a Mardi Gras Ball in Mobile, Alabama! I generally wear an 18W, sometimes a 20W for my lovely hips :-), so even though the dress was a little snug, it fit like a dream!! The pictures don't do it justice! I received so many compliments that night. The beautiful thing is, I knew I looked good! LOL! My dad always told me, "...if you don't think you look good, no one else will!" I'm trying to figure out how I can top the way I looked and felt for the next ball! LOL!! Additionally, RTR's customer service is the BEST! I wanted to try a larger size, but it wasn't in stock. They sent another dress I'd been viewing to the hotel where I was staying! How's that for customer service!!! I chose to wear this one, as it looked best on me! I will definitely use RTR again! If you're thinking about it, STOP!! Just do it! You will not be sorry! The dress fit like a glove and was so incredibly comfortable, I could sit cross legged on the ground, I could stand tall, it didn't matter... the zipper as everyone mentions is tough, I had to have help. And the sequins under the arms are a bit irritating to the skin, but not as bad as other dresses I've worn. I felt so glamorous and beautiful in this dress. It's glitzy without being over the top and sexy without being slutty. It plunged a bit lower in the neckline than I realized, only after seeing photos later was I surprised.

I ordered both the 18 and 20. I wear normally wear a 16, checking the measurements on the Carmen Marc Valvo website, it looked like I would be an 18, but I was a bit worried about the bust. (I wear a 40DD). The bust on the 18 was really snug, but it fit nicely everywhere else. The 20 felt a little big, but fit nicely in the bust. The reviews are all right about the length, in my bare feet the front of the dress grazed the top of my feet, in heals, you could see my entire shoe. I got compliments all night and felt really beautiful in this dress and I could wear a regular bra!

I called RTR in a panic when my original dress and back up dress didn't fit. The stylist was so helpful and found me this dress as a replacement. I was slightly concerned that the dress would fit tight in the hip area, and was also concerned about the bust as I am a 38DDD. I was pleasantly surprised that it fit perfect! It was just the right amount of sexy and classy. The sequins near the arm areas were a little irritating towards the end of the night, but it was a small price to pay. I wore spanx, but it is definitely not necessary.

When my first dress choices arrived and didn't fit, RTR sent me this dress as a replacement. I'm usually a size 16, but the dresses ran small on me. RTR truly has top-notch customer service, and for that reason alone I will use their service again and again. This replacement dress arrived the following day as promised, and it was perfect. This is a great dress if you're looking for something understated and beautiful. The sequins make it elegant, but since they are black it keeps the overall look from being too flashy. I am 5'7" and wore a 2"-3" heel, and the back of the dress was about an inch off the floor. As shown on the model pic, the front of the dress is slightly shorter than the back, so wear shoes you don't mind showing. For jewelry, I wore very simple pieces because I was unable to find a necklace that didn't clash with the dress. No worries, because the dress makes enough of a statement to be the main event. The only thing I didn't like about this dress was it showed a little too much cleavage for my liking (I'm a 38D and wore a strapless bra). I didn't realize the neckline was so low-cut until I sat down at dinner. Definitely not a showstopper, usually choose a more conservative neckline for these events.

This was my first Rent the Runway experience, and I will definitely do it again. The dress was amazing. A bit heavy, but not uncomfortable, and I was not hot, temperature-wise. I wore toned-down jewelry, so as not to be too blingy. My bust is a 44DD, which I can't seem to update on the site, but the dress had ample room -- I was neither falling out or squished in. The ONLY con in wearing the dress was, as others have mentioned, my inner upper arms were really scratched up by the end of the event. Such is the price of beauty!
