The dress fit well. The only issue I had was the side without the strap kept slipping down a little bit. I ordered a 20 and 22 and the 20 was just a bit tight. Thankful for being able to get 2 sizes.

Comfortable fit. Plenty of room to dance and move about freely. Loved the surprise accessories sent by the staff (although I forgot to change into the earrings when I changed out of my uniform). I will definitely be a repeat RTR customer!

This dress is a bright, true red and very soft and comfortable. In looking at the pictures I wish I had worn shape wear but overall I was very happy with it. The 16 was a little tight in the bust but the 18 was way too big in the hips so I just went with it. I will say you don't need to worry too much about the waist measurement as the dress isn't very fitted there. I'm slightly under 5'6" and in these pictures I have my shoes off and you can see the length. It is full length but not floor length. I highly recommend this dress for any formal occasion - I wore it to the Dallas Margarita ball, a black tie event, and fit right in!

I wore this dress to my cousin's wedding in DC this weekend. The website hardly does the dress justice...it is even more beautiful in person than it is on the site. I fell in love with the dress as soon as I took it out of the box... I just couldn't wait to try it on!!!! It fit perfectly and clung to my body in the all the right places (since it is an A line dress, it was NOT clingy at all on my stomach which is a total plus!!! I hate drawing attention to my belly) also I love that the dress is a little longer in the back and it is SO SOFT. I can't tell you how many people told me they loved my dress and told me how beautiful I looked! I would highly recommend renting this dress for your next event!! :)

The color is rich & just as pictured. It photographs very well even in low-light. I received an endless amount of compliments. I felt like a million bucks, I looked like a million bucks. I ordered a 16L and 18L, I normally wear a 16 and the 16 looked nice but I liked having extra room in the 18 since I was eating dinner at this event. Also if you're a tall lady like myself, I'm 5'10 1/2, invest in the Long version of any dress; even with 3 inch heels the dress hit perfectly. It wasn't long enough to drag on the floor, but it was long enough that you didn't see the tops of my shoes while I was standing, only walking. The only thing I would let you ladies know is that the dress can be clingy, not like a body con dress (form-fitted), but it's similar to the way silk has a tendency of hugging everything. I would say for a smooth look definitely wear "Spanx" to hold in your "problem" area. I did and I love ALL of the photos from that night! Enjoy ladies, Carmen Mac Valvo is kind with his cuts.

I felt some good in the dress. It was a formal work event and was just the right amount of pop and elegance. The event was over 5hrs long and I was comfortable in the dress the entire time. Loved how great the dress photographs as well. I did expect it to be longer so if you want a dress to cover your shoes then you may want to get a long vs regular but if you are doing a bunch of moving then regular length is perfect.

This dress flows beautifully when you walk. I got compliments throughout the night.

I had a WHOLE bunch of dresses rented for my wedding in NY. Thankfully I stopped by the Henri Bendel RTR show room to try on the dresses I ordered. Thank goodness I tried them on! I found this dress that my sisters wanted me to try on and when they saw me in this they said THIS IS the wedding banquet dress I had to wear. I'm only 5' 1/2" and I was easily dancing and spinning around in 2" heals to 4" heals. The regular length was great for me. One word of caution: As SOON as you get this dress try it on IMMEDIATELY! I took for granted that since I tried this same dress on at RTR's shop in Herni Bendel it would fit me correctly. SO NOT THE CASE! I ended up getting a long for some reason when I really needed a regular. But not to worry! RTR's online customer support swooped into the rescue. They mailed me my wedding day dress to my hotel and it was truly a regular size that fit me perfectly. THANKS RTR!!!!!!

I love the fit of this dress ..... I would have loved for the dress to have been longer like the pic but the dress still worked.

I like that I could get it in long, so I could wear my heels. It was a little loose, in the back under the "shoulderless" arm, but not sagging at all. No bra was showing. Other than that, it was perfect. Thanks so much!

Looked great. As an hourglass figure it hugged every part of my curves which some people like but i wasnt the biggest fan of it. You would definitely need to wear spanx. also get the long because it is very short in the front so you cant wear heels .

The stylists were great. I ordered the 16 and 16w. The 16w was longer and looked better so I wore that. The lining of the dress was a hot mess and both dresses were FULL of static when they arrived. I spent a lot of time steaming and spraying with static release - in the end worth it. I received so many compliments and felt gorgeous. Thank you RTR! I will be signing up for pro today!

I loved this dress! I was so sad to return it! The length was perfect I'm about 5'4 an I didn't even need to wear heels(but I did anyway). It worked great for Prom! The only thing I didn't like about this dress was that it doesn't hide anything! But I still received complements all night! I will defiantly be renting in the future!

the dress was awesome

The dress fit well in the bust area. Being that I am a J cup, this was greatly appreciated. The biggest complaint I had about the dress (and why I'm giving it 3 stars) is that the front was short. The dress on me was nothing like the picture. The front of the dress hit about my ankle, maybe a little lower. That being said I have really wide hips and I think that is why I had issues with the front of the dress. Despite my misgivings I wore the dress (after a quick stop at the shoes store to pick up some gold heels) and everyone thought that I looked great. My husband loved me in the dress and was giving me love eyes all evening so overall everything worked out and I felt good!

The regular dress was too short, so I used the bigger size for a little bit of length. If you are 5'8", I would highly suggest renting the Long size!

A little large on the top.

This was not my original dress but sent as substitute when my dress was not available. It fit perfectly and my husband called it jaw dropping so that's always good. Flattering to my hourglass curves, including large bust, perfect length with heels. I did need to adjust the shoulder part and neckline a few times during the night just to keep it in place. Fabric hung beautifully and inner sheath did a nice job disguising my problem tummy area. I highly recommend this dress.

The 18 wasn't avail so I had to wear the 20. It was a bit big in the top but still did the job and left room for alcohol & appetizers. Length is perfect with heels (I'm 5'5) and it's uber comfy.

I'm usually a 14 so I got the 14 and 16, I had to go with the 16 and have spanx, it's just a very clingy dress and after having a baby a year ago I have many problem areas. The boobs were big and I I wish I wore double stick tape to attach my dress to my bra. BUT I felt glamorous, the length was great I'm 5'6''. The amount of attention and all the social media compliments made my weekend. The top of the dress is so cute in selfies too!

The fit was accurate. My only complaint is the front was a little short but I had read from other reviews that this would happen so I wasn't too mad. Just would have preferred it to be longer.

As you can see from the photo, it did run a bit tight in the midsection, but not unbearably so. I took the picture in the photo area where it was brighter, but the rest of party was in a relatively darker space so I wasn't too worried about everyone staring at my imperfections. It was a good length for my height (5'7), but I definitely needed to wear short heels (I usually prefer flats so my feet aren't aching by the end of the night). For the most part, it was pretty comfortable and felt more than fancy enough for the office black tie Christmas party. This is a dramatic dress and got a lot of (positive!) attention. I loved wearing it, even if I don't necessarily love this photo.

The length on the long if you are over 5'8 you need to wear a lower heel. The bust area was a little loose. I tried the 18WL and it was way to big however the length was good but it was too loose to wear so I went with the 16WL.

A beautiful dress that was slightly to small. My sizing is crazy after 2 kids, I fit into it, but it was tight and not flattering. I should have gone with the 18wr. Measurement wise it should have fit. RTR customer service was excellent though and overnighted me the PERFECT dress!!!

I needed a dress last minute for a formal gala, and I thought this dress would be perfect. I have a hourglass figure, so my hips are typically the area I need to be most concerned about with fit. With that in mind, I ordered a 20 with a 22 as the backup. When I went to put on the dress, I realized the top was really big - the dress is pretty much straight down so the hips are as wide as the bust. I needed some serious fashion tape in order to keep from flashing everyone, and I also needed to wear the one shoulder a bit off my shoulder in order to not fall out of the dress. If the material was a bit more stretchy or the dress was cut at bit differently, I wouldn't have had so many issues. I probably should have gone for a 18 as my backup size instead of a 22.

First let me say the RTR folks are great. Customer service was incredible. I ordered a dress Tuesday for a Friday affair. The first dress arrived Wednesday. It was sadly too short (I'm 5'11"). In reading the other reviews some recommended to go a size up to get the dress to hang better, so I swapped for a larger size. The dress was a good length (to my feet and long enough if i wore flats) but the seam was completely detached from the zipper :( So I was unable to wear either dress.

For some reason, every dress I rent, even the long length is too short. This dress worked with 1 inch heels. However, it was super flattering and everyone complimented it.

Definitely DEFINITELY order the long size of this dress, and size up. I had to wear one that was two sizes larger than my normal size. I am short (5'4, and even the long size didn't fall to the floor in the front, because its weirdly shorter in the front than it is in the back. It's also a little tight at the armpit, and after a night of dancing in this dress I had a little irritation under my arm because it was so tight there. Overall it is a very beautiful dress and very eye catching. I got a lot of compliments!

I have rented other Carmen Marc Volvo gowns and the fabric has always been thick and luxurious. This was a little thin and very unforgiving. I did not end up wearing it.
