I could only get one size for the dates of my event and wish I could have sized down. The size I got was 8 regular and I could have done the 6 but I made it work! There’s a good weight on the dress and it kept me warm during the outdoor wedding ceremony in Fall weather. Super comfortable for dancing and moving around as well.

This was very comfortable for a Winter masquerade fundraiser. I felt good and it was easy to move in/dance. The sleeves have a few inches with a zipper at the bottom so you can adjust to get on over watches, etc.

This dress was perfect! Both sizes actually fit, but decided to go with the smaller size to show off my curves. The length was perfect with a shorter pair of heels (I'm 5' 5"). The dress feels so high quality and well made. Perfect for a black tie event, I got so many compliments!

Very comfortable & forgiving. Wore a nude bralette as the nude lining seemed a bit too low for me...worked beautifully. Received many compliments, and my husband loved the dress! Will rent from RTR again.

I am so glad I read through the reviews because I assumed the sizing would be small since it is a designer gown. The dress is a bit heavy, but I wore this for an outdoor November wedding so the weight probably helped keep me warm. It runs short. If you are average height go with the long if you plan to wear heels. The material stretches so don't order big on this one if you want form fitting. This dress is really comfortable and easy to move in. My heels would catch on the lace bottom occasionaly. I ordered a 4L and 6L and ended up wearing the smaller size, which naturally made me fill good. I got so many compliments on my gown. I highly recommend this dress. I was a first time user to RTR and I am certain this will be my go to dress shop.

Im 36 weeks pregnant here! Usually i wear a 4-6... Go up a size or two and opt for the longer length. I'm 5'3 weighing 155 or so. This dress is really bump friendly and felt amazing on!!!

I was getting compliments all night. I'm 5'6" and wore the regular length. It was perfect when dancing barefoot, but a little short when wearing 4" heels. Great dress overall! Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful dress that fit like a glove and was very flattering. A bit of a stretch to it and moulds your curves. It’s hard to find formal dresses that you don’t need to hem, but this sit just right - I’m 5’4 and wore a 2.5 inch heel. Received so many compliments. Would love to rent it again!

Fit as expected. It was a smidge shorter than I anticipated, but it wasn't too short. I'm 5' 8" and wore a 3 inch heel. The dress fell at the tops of my feet which was great for walking and dancing. Im 138 lbs. A 6L was not available to rent that day. The 4 fit, was snug, but was comfortable.

I wore this to my brother-in-laws wedding when I was 7.5 months pregnant. When I say that I have NEVER felt as beautiful as I did that day - I mean it! I got compliments the ENTIRE night! If I could recommend this dress to everyone - I would! Fit great, even with my baby bump. I would say it’s true to size but also very forgiving. If you have the chance to order 2 sizes - I’d suggest ordering the size you think you are and also the size smaller. Absolutely beautifully crafted dress!

Worn to a fundraising gala. Perfect dress for the Moulin Rouge theme. The gown is weighty, which I love. Form-fit shows every curve. Was able to wear a regular padded bra (a necessity for me). The sleeves zip close at wrist...required because the lace does not stretch. 4 long is my typical gown size, I wore a 3" heel which showed a little (I'm 5'8"). A flat would have given the gown a floor drape, if that's your style. Comfortable, substantial, tons of complements, and very sexy. Wears like a $3000 gown.

I am 5'4 - 5'5, and this was a 6R and it paired perfectly with flats. If you want to wear a heel I suggest that you get the 6L for the extra 3 inches.. I normally wear an 8 for the bust reason but the 6 fit just perfect in that area.

I wasn't sure about the dress when I tried it on the first night. My boyfriend insisted it was great. But once I got to the venue (his sister's wedding - in a gorgeous Art Deco building), I got nothing but compliments all night about how gorgeous this dress was. Be aware, the lace has zero give - so this fits like a glove and is a little constricting on arm movements over your head (don't plan on climbing monkey bars or anything). Also, the dress is very heavy, and despite having rather wide lace on the shoulders, is fairly warm. I cannot say enough good things about this gorgeous dress. As other reviewers said, the pictures absolutely don't do it justice. Stunning.

The best moment of the night came when I spied another woman with the same gown from RTR. She felt fab, I felt fab, and we hugged and laughed and had a great time showing off our twin looks on the dance floor. RTR rocks!

I rented this dress for my senior prom and it was the best I decision I ever made! I don't wear dresses at all, so it was difficult knowing what size to order. Thank god that they have a free backup size cause I originally thought I was a 6 but the 4 ended up fitting great! Something to consider is that if you're 5'7 or near that don't order the regular if you want to wear heels. Also the arms were a bit tight, and it got hot on the dance floor with the sleeves and all. Make sure you get a strapless bra because the top portion of the dress is see through. I didn't have time to get one, since I didn't know that. All in all the process was super easy and fast and the staff answered all my questions in a timely manner. I would definetly rent from rent the runway again!

The 6L was a perfect length with a 3 inch pump. I'm 5'6''.

I was a little skeptical about the dress because it looked very bland on the model. However I took a chance with this dress and I loved it! I received so many compliments that night!

Totally comfortable, I thought it might be hot but it was perfect! Will need a strapless bra and possibly shape wear depending on your curves. I'm 5-4 and wore 4 inch heels and the length was good with the 10L.

The material is very heavy. The dress hugs all the right places! I wish I could wear it everyday! My favorite dress I think I have ever worn.

This is one of the best experiences I've had with Rent the Runway to date! I am not very tall so I'm always nervous about the length of long dresses, but this was PERFECT. I did wear heels that were about 3 inches, but I don't think that was even necessary. I wore a size 6R which fit perfectly. I am also nervous about long sleeve dresses because I always get so hot, but the holes in the lace on the arms allowed air to go through which was comfortable.

The dress was a great fit. I was pleased with the style and decided to wear the Adrienne Landau Shrug to make the assemble even more distinctive. I was very pleased and have recommended Rent the Runway to friends who frequently attend formal events. This is my third dress that I rented!

I wore this dress to a winter wedding. It was perfect for the evening. I felt beautiful and the dress really fit my hour glass figure well. I would suggest wearing spanx if you want to cover those problem areas. I am normally a size 8-10, so this dress was true to size. It is a very thick dress so during a night of drinking and dancing it does get a little warm. I got so many compliments from everyone. Everyone loved the dress. I would recommend this dress to anyone. I am completely satisfied with my RTR experience.

After reading the reviews I was afraid 8R would be too short since I am 5'8 but they did not have the long in an 8, so I ordered the 8R and the 10L. I am an 8/10 and both dresses fit, but the Long was way too long! The Regular did not brush the floor with 3" heels on, and I was conscious that my toes peeked out, but frankly I was soooo glad it was not longer since it rained and most of the women were dragging muddy dresses around! BE AWARE that you need a strapless bra! I did not know that and had to shop the day of the event to find one out of town. But it worked out great and I was very, very happy with my choice. I wore a gold necklace which I also rented, but it was pretty dull and did not set the dress off like I hoped. I did have sparkly earrings, but in hindsight I would have worn a very sparkly necklace as well to really show it off as formal.

This dress is beyond incredible. I wore this dress for my Great Gatsby- themed junior prom, and I received compliments all night long, and in weeks following the event. The sizing is perfect as well, I rented a 6L and an 8L, and ended up wearing the 6L because it hugged my body more. Length-wise the long was great because I was able to wear my 4" heels and the edge of the dress just hit the floor (I was 5'4" at the time I wore the dress). It was heavier than I would have imagined, but in no way did that prove to be an obstacle. Being a long sleeved dress it did get hot on the dance floor, but as I like to say fashion over function. A few details on the nude lining: it is attached to the dress, and does not extend through the sleeves. It has a sweetheart neckline, so an "invisible bra" is the best option. All in all for my first rental experience it was great- the dress arrived on time (along with the earrings I rented (the same ones pictured on the model for this dress)), it fit perfectly, and it was stunning. Renting again for this years prom, and other future events!

I wore this dress to my boyfriend's sister's black tie wedding. I have never received so many complements on a dress! The dress arrived the afternoon of the requested delivery date and everything was in great shape. I'm 5'2 and the length was perfect for wearing 3 inch heels; but if you are taller than 5'2 or want to wear 4 inch heels, I would recommend ordering the longer length. You don't need very much jewelry as the look of the dress does all the talking! Overall, incredible experience with Rent the Runway and I'm looking forward to another event to rent another dress.

The dress was absolutely beautiful and I received lots of complements! Michigan is cold in November and this dress is perfect for colder weather events. It is pretty tough to zip, so you'll need help getting in/out of it. The RTR experience is fabulous - it was my first time, but surely won't be the last!!

I ate, danced and walked everywhere in this dress. It fit very well and was extremely true to size. I wore 3 inch heels and it hit at the right spot for my 5'5" body. Really a show stopper. Classic, sophisticated but sexy!

I loved, LOVED this dress! It fit immaculately, and I felt very comfortable the entire night. It was sexy yet still covering, and I didn't need to wear my beloved Spanx. Not to mention, I received massive amounts of compliments. If I had to find a fault with the dress, I would say that it ran a teeny bit short. I am 5'4, and I felt that the dress didn't quite reach the floor with my 4" heels. I would recommend getting the dress in a Long if you plan on wearing heels or are taller than 5'6. All in all, I would highly recommend this dress (especially to curvy figures)!

Who knew such a conservative dress would be sexier than any sparkle or low cut neckline? The material is heavy and luxurious, but adds a bit of width to the body. I wore shorter heels and didn't have a problem with length. Got comments all night long. This was my first RTR experience and there's no way I'm ever buying another dress.

I don't have one complaint about this dress. It fit wonderfully, so comfortable and fits an average body perfectly. I wore it to a gala and got so many compliments it's crazy. I do wish it was a little longer. I am 5'6 and I wore probably 3-4 in heels, I a, glad i rented the 4L. Highly recommend this dress!

Great Fit and length. Received many compliments

This dress certainly stood out in a sea of black cocktail dresses, but was still conservative enough for a formal event at our hunt club. My first choice dress was damaged by the previous client and this was selected for me by the RTR stylists. The dress over all has substantial weight and hangs beautifully. I probably could have even gone down to a size 12L, because the weight pulled the nude lining down so the top of my strapless bra showed slightly. Additionally, be prepared to wear heels, I am 5' 9" and the dress was still touching ground in 3" heels. Despite the hiccup of the original dress not being available, I will never buy another dress for a formal affair.
