True to fit!! I was nervous it was going to be too sparkly.. But the matte color made it just want I wanted! This dress will not disappoint.

I am so glad that I chose this dress for a mountain wedding; although I would have chosen it for any occasion, really. The fit was perfect, ridiculously comfortable and flattering. I wore 3" heels, so at 5'2", what a pleasant surprise to find the dress perfectly hit the floor. I wanted to share a photo that highlights the back, which is open (and a fun twist), but still allows for appropriate shape wear. This dress can easily be glammed up or kept simple; I paired it with a quilted moto jacket and couldn't have been happier. While I have a thing about wearing the same dress twice, I may just find an excuse to rent this little number again.

This dress I ordered in two sizes, the 8L and the 10 L, I ended up wearing the 8l, it just fit a little bit.It is a great dress I just fit into the smaller size!

I wore this for a black tie wedding, and it was perfect. The black liquid-looking sequins were beautiful without being too bold - and the fit was great. I'm 5'1" and the length of the small was PERFECT in slightly less than 3" heels. I got so many compliments on this dress and I was comfortable the entire night. A couple of things to note - SPANX don't work very well with this dress, the back is very open and low and they will show.

The dress is so comfortable, not too heavy. I choose the small, although there is not a great difference from the medium , it did not gape at the back like the medium did. I am 5'2" and wore 4 inch heels and it was the perfect length so taller ladies may want to select the long option. I had many compliments during the evening and with the exception of the UPS service who delivered late, the whole experience was a positive one.

I loved wearing this dress. I rented a MR and SR and went with the small since it was more formfitting. I honestly wouldn't have ever rented this based on the photos, but it was suggested to me by a stylist in the Henri Bendel showroom, and I LOVED it. The photos don't do it justice. The sequins are matte, and not too shiny. This gave it the perfect balance of edge and elegance for a creative black tie event. The cut is very flattering and was the perfect length (I'm 5'3" and had 3" heels on). I wore this with Gerard Yosca's Crystal Clear Nouveau Drop earrings and my hair up to show the cool back cut. I also had to wear a stick-on backless bras with it which worked great.

It was obvious this dress has been worn several times, there were some noticeable stretched out parts where a portion of sequins are missing.

I rented this dress for a New Year'd eve wedding. It was a beautiful dress that fit like a glove, but I ended up wearing a different one I rented bc it was a little more glamorous. I rented both the medium and small in this dress, and wore the small because it fit like a perfect glove. I wouldn't have even needed a bra, which is always a plus! The dress was just a teeny bit too long too. I am 5'3'' and with 3-4'' heals, I was worried about stepping on the dress while dancing. Loved this dress. I definitely want to rent it again for another event

The fabric has stretch to it so it fits nice and shows your curves. The open back doesn't lay flat otherwise a perfect fit. I do have some quality issues. A line of sequins in front are missing and several small lines in the low back.

The open back limits the type of body shaper or girdle you can wear with this slim cut gown. I wore adhesive bra cups and sucked in my stomach the whole night. The dress was very comfortable and I did not feel like a sausage despite the fitted design. The dress was heavier than I anticipated but that was not a problem and the weight added to the flow of the gown as I danced. I was nervousness the small would be too tight but there was enough wiggle room if needed. I claim to be a size 4 but it depends on the week. The dress worked perfectly and I received several compliments on the style.

Wore this for a ball. I love the material of the dress, the only thing was that it ran very long. I'm 5'3" and wore it with 41/2 inch heels and it was still dragging. Otherwise gorgeous dress I wish I could own!

runs a little long

I have an annual black tie event for work, which is a bit of a fashion conundrum - I need to be glamorous without wearing anything too revealing, both because I'm there with colleagues and because I actually have to be on my feet rushing around for the entire event. This was perfect - I felt glamorous and sexy, but also covered up. (I don't feel shy about my back being exposed, and I found an adhesive bra that did the trick. A regular or convertible bra are not viable options). Also, I'm 5'10" and love wearing heels, so the long length is a dealbreaker for me. This dress was perfect. It was surprisingly comfy. I wore 4 inch heels and it worked, although shoes that tall weren't necessary - flats would probably have been too short, but not by much. I accessorized with really bold silver jewelry (including the Ben-Amun Melted Metal Collar from RTR) and silver sparkly shoes. I loved this and would definitely recommend it. My *only* complaint was that the keyhole in the back gapped some when I moved, which made me feel a little exposed; I tried fashion tape which did not solve the problem. It was a minor thing, though, and I would rent the dress again in a heartbeat.

I had to wear the large for the length. The dress fit a little big in the chest and waist area but it sat nicely on my hips. Overall the dress looked okay because the sequins weighed in down, camouflaging the fit problems.

The fit was amazing. I rocked the rock star look and wore some really cool black strappy sandals and a short leather jacket. The dress is very very comfortable. I am not used to wearing a long gown and I felt casually formal. A perfect vibe for me. Got LOTS of complement. I told my friends about rent the runway and will definitely rent again

Unfortunately I needed a Small in this dress. It became unavailable the day before my event so I tried the Medium and it was just too big. There is a bit of stretch to this, it's not a stiff fabric at all. I disagree with one of the other reviewers. It's also not too heavy, but there is a lovely weight to it. I'm only 5'3" with a fairly short torso, so there was just too much puckering of fabric on my top half. The regular length was perfect in 3" heels. I love that this dress is a little bit edgy and you can dress it up with vintage earrings or bracelet. I will attempt to rent a size small for my next event. You have to wear the bra cups with this - no regular bra.

The fit was great, it was a little short though. If I ordered again I would order the long to wear heels with it

my first rent the runway dress was a success! wore it to a masquerade ball for Halloween and went perfectly with my mask. very comfy, but I felt glamorous and sexy! not too heavy, even with all the sequins. i'm 5'8" and the extra length was a must especially with heels. even the regular length would've been to short with flats (that was my backup dress and I tried it with flats).

This is a very fitted dress so looks best on a slender body. Its heavy, but very comfortable.

My only pro is that its a little on the short size. Wear tall heels and order the Long or wear short heels. Overall the dress was a stunner!

First let me say that I didn't end up wearing this one; I wore my backup. This dress almost looks like leather until you get very close to it and see that it's sequins, which I liked. But it has a high neck so there is a lot of black and I should have ordered a necklace with it. I think it needs a big necklace with color to break up all the black. I rented big earrings but it wasn't enough, so I went with my back up. It a great dress though.

i rented this dress as backup and did not end up wearing it since I preferred my other rental. I would not recommend it if you have curves...it is a very demanding fabric.

I rented the small regular and medium regular in this dress. I'm only 5'5", but this dress was definitely too short for me. With my shortest heels on, it was about an inch off the floor. I would recommend ordering the long in your size!

It was perfect for me with flats. I would suggest the long if you are 5'5" and want to wear heels!

This dress is stunning. It fit like a glove. I haven't worn it to an event yet, just paraded around the house. It was slightly beat up, since I bought it on clearance. But oh my goodness. It's so beautiful. I am so happy and excited to wear it.

The quality of the dress was superb (minus a few missing sequins on the bottom edge, but hey, its a rental.) There was a weight to the dress that made it feel extra luxurious. Even though it was entirely covered in sequins, they were more flat black with a slight shimmer than the gaudy sequins of 3rd grade dance class. I wore this dress to a formal black/white masquerade ball and received complements all night. I'm 5'8" and wore a 3.5" heal and felt the dress hit the floor just right.

The fit was a bit big in the back as the dress had been stretched a bit. And the dress was a bit heavy. But other than that this is a great sexy black tie dress. The sequins aren't over the top, but instead because of the matte finish give it more a 'liquid leather' (as it was described to me) look. I really enjoyed the dress and felt great in it. The large would have been way to big. You can't really wear any spanx or shapewear underneath.

I'm 5'8" and usually can wear a regular length dress. This dress however was definitely too short in the regular length. If you're 5'7" or taller, I'd definitely recommend ordering the long!
