I am very petite and it was a struggle to zip up the dress. Once it was zipped it was great

I was specifically looking for a royal blue dress and immediately fell in love when I saw this in person. It has a gorgeous x-crossing in the back and does well mixing chiffon and silk. Unfortunately, the 34R was too small for my waist and too short for my height. Had I gone up a size, it would have been perfect being that it was less than an inch away from closing. The next size was unavailable for the time I needed, which I really wish was because this dress was absolutely beautiful.

This dress was very beautiful. Great vivid color. Like other reviewers said the rib cage area was very tight! I have a small frame and am a 32B and it was a struggle to zip it up on my own and with assistance. But once I got it zipped, the tightness didn't feel uncomfortable and I didn't notice it through the night. I didn't need a bra and didn't feel uncomfortable I wasn't wear a bra. There are built in cups. The zipper area bulged out a little but I used fashion tape to tape the overlay layer over to hide it. The overlay chiffon-y layer on the bust flares out on the sides so it looks like your breast has wings but a little fashion tape fixed this problem easily. Im 5'2 and have 29" inseam and 34R length was perfect and just 1in above ground with my 3inch heels. No need for hooker heels. Overall I liked the tight fit, design of the bodice and materials. I'd recommend as long as you get a back up size larger just in case. Works for small chested women.

I am about 120 pounds the 34 fit perfectly because it is very fitted at the waist and allows more room in the hips. I am 5'6", so the dress was right at the floor without shoes on, so with heels it was a little short but I kind of liked it better that way because it kept it lighter and prevent me from ever tripping on it. The "long" style length fit the way it shows in the picture, but they were out of 34L and the 36 was too large. No bra needed!

I'm tall and was concerned the dress would be slightly too short with heels - not the case. Definitely the dress for tall, slender women. Look no further!

I loved this dress. The deep blue color is gorgeous and it was so comfortable to dance in!

I loved the color -- especially how well it photographed! I loved how comfortable I was in this gown. It moved with me, and I was able to dance all night in it! :) A definite recommend on this one.

Fabric is very unforgiving, so order a size above your normal one instead of below. I ended up going one up. The dress was hemmed to the floor...I usually expect dresses to be long because I'm pretty short (5'3"), but I had to wear flats.

I ordered a size 34R and 36R and ended up wearing the 36R. The smaller size wouldn't zip around the bust. I ordered Regular lengths because I don't wear super high heels and I thought it would be ok. It was shorter than I would've liked but it wasn't a huge deal. If you're 5'8" or above, definitely get the long, even if wearing flats. Other than that, it fit beautifully and it moved very well. I felt beautiful in the color and I got many compliments : )

The essential measurement on this dress is about two inches below the bra line---the waist of the dress cinches right around the lower rib cage. If you can get your lower rib cage in the dress then there will be plenty of room for chest and hips. I wear bra size 34-C. I ordered dress sizes 34R and 36R and wore the 36R. I had to hold my breath to get the zipper past the bottom of my rib cage, but once I got the zipper up the dress fit beautifully!

I am about 105lbs and a little more than 5'4 and this dress fit perfectly. I wore 3 inch heels and the dress just barely touched the ground. Very pretty gown!

This dress is a beautiful color. I received many compliments on it. I wore it to my work's Christmas party. I usually wear a size 4 or 6 dress depending on the cut. The 38 in this dress was so tight around my rib cage I couldn't zip it up. The 42 was too big around the rib cage but at least I could zip it. I don't have a huge chest, 34A, so maybe if I had a bigger bust the 42 would've fit better. The cut in front is a pretty deep V so I opted to pin the straps in back to make them shorter & not so plunging for my work event. Altogether the dress was perfect for the money. Comfortable & loose through the hips. It was a good first experience for RTR!

I wore the 38L which is a size 4. I ordered the 36 L but it was too tight in the chest. If you have a wide shoulder/chest area, I would recommend the 38L. I wore 5 inch heels with this and you could still see my shoes, I recommend 4 inch heels or smaller.

I wore this to a black tie wedding. The color is so deep, and the fabric is gorgeous. It was quite tight around the waist, but didn't feel uncomfortable until the end of the night. The fabric is so soft and the rest of the dress is incredibly comfortable. Added bonus, there are lightweight bra pads that make it so that you do not need a bra. I literally have never gone without some type of bra, but the pads and shape if the dress made it comfortable and easy to do so. Really an elegant, unique gown!

If you are larger in your rib area, this dress is unforgiving. The color is incredible! I received many compliments because of the color. The draping is flattering on the lower half, but the upper part is a bit saggy. I'm not sure if it is the crepe-like overlay or what, but still nice. The front does dip really low, so be sure you have adequate support (and your chicken cutlets!) I am 5'7" and typically wear a size 12 dress. I wore 4" platforms and wore the L version. The regular was too short with flats.

I wish I owned this dress! The color is great- and a true deep deep blue, though my roommate thought it looked like a deep purple. I usually wear a 4, sometimes a 2 and even more rarely a 6 (especially if something is tight in the bust). I ordered 38L so that I could wear 6'' heels, a plan that worked perfectly as the dress just grazed the floor with my shoes on. My backup was 40R since some people said it was fitted in the bust. I actually found my 38L loose in the bust. It gaped a little on the sides, and I am a 32D. My thought is that it can hold up to a D cup size easily, but my smallish rib cage (32) didn't fill it out all the way around. I wished I had ordered down a size for my backup. It's true there isn't much give room in the near-empire waist, but in my case down a size in my backup would have been good. The material is gorgeous, with just the right amount of shine and matte to make the dress very adult but fun.

I agree with the other reviewers who commented that the dress is a bit big on top. I got two sizes: the 38L and the 40L - the 38 fit better on my chest/upper body, but was a bit too tight across my hips, so I wore the 40. It looked fine on top, it just didn't feel as snug as I'm used to across the chest. I also agree with the other reviewers that the dress runs short. I got the Long, and the length was perfect with 3" heels - it skimmed the floor, but I wasn't tripping on it (I'm 5'6"). Overall, I have to say that I was extremely happy with the dress! I loved the color (deep purple!), and the dress was VERY comfortable (no pulling or digging in or rubbing anywhere)!!

I wore this dress to a friend's wedding with flat roman sandals. I am 5'4" and with flats it definitely grazed the floor the way it does on the model. Unfortunately, I went a size up, and had to use the fashion tape to hold me in. Im usually a size 2, and the38R( size4) was definitely large on the bust area when I wore it. I wore it with no bra on, thankfully the fashion tape held!

I ordered a 36R and a 38R. The 36 was slightly too small and the 38 was huge. I have a seamstress for a mother and she creatively pinned it and used fashion tape to make it look good, but it was a nightmare. Furthermore, I ordered a regular length and not a long because I am 5'4". The dress barely skimmed my toes. I had to run out and buy expensive flats at the last minute. If you are of average height or want to wear heels, order a long.

I gave this 5 stars because it truly was a beautiful dress, and I would've worn it if it had fit! The material is amazing. But the dress was much too small. Too short and too tight in the hips. I wish I could've worn it though!

Beautiful dress! Photo doesn't do it justice. Empire waist was perfect since I am newly pregnant. Was recommended to me by a stylist and was perfect.

Received many compliments on this gown for a formal wedding on Miami Beach. Due to my small shoulders, however, the straps were somewhat loose. I recommend using fashion tape in the front to keep everything in place. Length was perfect, even for short girls in moderate (3") heels.

The color really pops out without being too obnoxious. Great dress for the wedding I attended. The draping is very flattering and I would highly recommend this dress

Dress is even prettier in person! Runs pretty small, as a 2 I ordered the 38. Built in cups so you don't need a bra and great with silver RTR jewelry

The chiffon draping on this dress is gorgeous and the satin material is super soft. It can look purple in different (or lack of lighting) but doesn't take away from its beauty. Loved it!

This dress fit me well - usually I'm a size 6, but the 8 gave me a bit of wiggle room. It was a little frayed in the back because of the gauzy overlay, but it held up well throughout my event. The color is a little more jeweled-toned and brighter than it appears in the photos.

I'm only 5'5" ladies and the 34R just grazed the floor with NO heels, thank goodness all you reviewers steered me towards the long, with modest heels the long barely skimmed the floor. the 34 was really tight in the ribs, I'm usually a zero no problem - BUT I definitely had to go with the 36 on this one. Also the wing-boob thing another reviewer mentioned is totally accurate, maybe the dress just has seen to many wears but the chiffon poofs out a little weird on the side. ALL that being said, it's a stunning dress and I still loved it - just a few caveats!

I'm only 5'4" and rented the long size due to the other reviews. It was the perfect length (with about 3" heels). There were a few issues with the 36L.... the fabric in the front looked like it had come unattached somewhere and was droopy on one side. Also, one of the straps was very awkwardly long. Luckily, I was able to do some temporary magic fixing and made all of it work and I have to say that after all that, I loved this dress! The color and fabric were perfect and it was actually pretty comfortable too.

I am glad that I ordered two sizes! I had gained some weight and thought I could still fit in the 4, but it was too tight! Luckily I ordered the size up. Although it was a bit big in the top since I am in between sizes it worked very will fashion tape. I got tons of compliments and danced the night away.

The smaller size fit perfectly in shoulders but couldn't get it zipped over ribcage - had to wear larger size which was slightly large in shoulder area.

This dress is absolutely stunning. It's a deep, royal purple with a lot of blue in it. It was a tough fit for me as I am bottom heavy and there is no stretch and it's a pretty straight fit. I ended up wearing a size up (10) for my hips/rear, and tying the straps together (halter-style) in the back to make up for how big the top was. I also wore flats with it as I had an 8-hour event to attend-- it was so comfortable, but at 5'6" if I had worn heels the dress would have been too short. Definitely go for the long version if you're 5'6" or above while wearing the shoes you plan to wear. Recommended!

I chose this awesome dress for Mother of the bride. Although the other dress I rented in size 4 fit perfectly for the rehearsal dinner, I could not get the zipper up for both size 4 or extra size 6. I had to frantically find another dress in my closet for my daughters wedding. It was my rib cage which I could not change. I was so sad, but I pulled it off finding some other last minute dress in my closet. I was not reimbursed because of the timing, but I truely was sad I could not wear this dress, as I ended up having to wear a dress that was shorter and I did not like how my knees looked. Oh well , such is life

I was going to wear this dress to a formal event, but unfortunately I couldn't because of my smaller chest. I'm a 32B, so it would probably be good for C or D cups.

The dress was gorgeous and comfortable. The color was even more vibrant than the picture, and fabric was light and soft. Unfortunately, it was short. I am 5'5", ordered a regular, and couldn't wear heels! Thankfully, it was ok with flats. It also had very long shoulder straps. I have broad shoulders, yet I still had to pin it in the back. So... Although it is beautiful, it is big in the shoulders and too short.

I ordered the correct size and fit perfect in length but only if I could have had it tailored. I read through every review to figure out what size and length would be best for me and I definitely hit it on the nail but like the other reviews, the top was too big on by at least another cup size and at the hips it was a hair too tight, like when a dress has that stretched, wrinkled look to it and it didn't allow the material to lay the way it was designed. I believe my hip measurement is 39". The shear overlay I thought looked a little tacky and in the back as well, parts of the shear had runs in different areas, which I definitely was not a fan of but for the rental price, it would have done well it if fit my shape better.

However, it runs extremely small. I had to wear supportive stockings and spanx to make it fit. I also ended up wearing the larger size. It is a true royal blue color which I just decided is not my color. It was really short too. I got the regular length and it cut off at my ankles. I am only 5"3. I would suggest going with the long for anyone over 5"0.

The reviews said it ran small in the top, but it was baggy on me. I am a 36A and usually a perfect 8. It was baggy on top and I had to wear a VERY padded bra to be able to wear it at all. It was still a bit baggy though in the top. It runs short too. I am 5'7" and it barely reached the floor without heals. I had to wear it because the back-up that I ordered was worse, but it was overall a disappointing experience.

I'm not sure what type of woman this dress is best suited for, but it is not for anyone with boobs. While others said the top runs large, I actually found it to be a little snug, but the crepe overlay was saggy making my chest look really awkward. And while it was short enough for someone petite, the top was very long and as someone with a short torso, I just couldn't get it to work. If you are thin and athletic I think this dress would be perfect for you! One of the dresses I received was also damaged. I hope RTR does a better job of checking those things!

This gown ran small. I could barely zip up the top and I usually wear a 0 in dresses. I was hoping the hips would not be as snug (I am pear-shaped) and the fabric clung in a very unattractive way but the color was beautiful.

This dress was gorgeous, but very small at the top for girls bigger in the chest. The material is also chiffon-y, but the color is really beautiful.
