Dress is a flattering material and is very comfortable to wear. It's fancy enough for a formal affair yet could be dressed down and worn for a chic night out. Overall loved the dress!

The dress has different textures in the bodice. The waist was stretched out where the fabric texture changed. However it was nice to be able to wear normal undergarments and not worry about tugging or keeping straps tucked in. I am an athletic build and felt this dress accentuated by body frame. I would rent this dress again. I am 5'9" so length is always a concern. The size 2Long dress was the perfect length with 4 inch heels. It is body hugging dress so I would recommend spanx to smooth everything out.

I was nervous ordering this dress because I'm 5'8" and according to the chart I should have been a long, but only regular length was available in my size. It was actually nearly perfect! Many reviews mention the sleeves being long but they fit me perfectly, however I have very long arms! I'm really a 32DD (but that isn't an option on RTR) and this dress was very flattering in the chest and butt! I thought the dress was beautiful as-is so I just wore a simple vintage gold cuff and large vintage earrings and received endless compliments! Would definitely rent again in the future. If I had the money, I'd buy it!

I ordered this dress to wear to an Orthodox event. It needed to be modest but formal. The dress was perfect. I received so many compliments, and I felt sexy but sophisticated and respectful at the same time. The dress was also extremely comfortable, with some give to the fabric. I was able to walk and sit without feeling constricted. I hated to take it off and send it back!

I ordered the 4R and 2L since those were the only two sizes available. Surprisingly, the 2L fit better. Some of the reviews said it was long in the arms but I found the length of the sleeves to be perfect. I also wore 4 inch heels and the dress just barely touched the ground. I would highly recommend!!! Super comfortable and easy to dress up.

I ordered this dress (and gold earrings) for a black-tie wedding, and it was my first experience using Rent the Runway. It was definitely a positive one. I'm short, so I was a little nervous about ordering a floor length dress and not having the opportunity to try it on more than a day in advance of the event, but it worked perfectly. I'm glad that RTR sends you the extra size, as I ended up being a little bit between the 2R and the 4R, but it as nice to have them both for comparison purposes. I ended up opting for the 4R since it gave me a little more room to move - the 2R fit me better overall since the 4R was a little baggier in the upper back and the waist, but was a little too tight in the hips. The sleeves on both were a little long, which I'd read in other reviews, but only a couple of inches, and I was able to just tape them up on the inside and it looked just fine. Material was quality and not thick enough so that it was hot to dance in. Length was just right with 3.5 inch heels. I paired with gold dangly earrings (Southern Plantation earrings, also on RTR) and got many compliments was told the dress was "perfect for the event." If you're curvy, this is a fantastic dress as it really brings out an hourglass figure. Highly recommend!

I rented this dress for a wedding in Chicago and it could not have been more perfect. I received so many compliments on it and could not have picked a better dress. The sleeves are a little long but I wore some bracelets to distract from the length and they looked fine. I am glad that I picked a smaller size for my additional size because the dress ran a little bigger than I would normally wear. Overall fantastic experience with the dress and fit

This dress is incredible. You can't tell from the pictures, but there are two different fabrics used. The skirt and a square panel on top are a thicker, textured linen (I think?) and then the sleeves and rest of the bodice are a stretchier jersey material. I wore this dress for a gala that I went to with my dad where his clients were being honored, so I wanted to make an effort not to stand out as the 26 year old in the slutty dress. This dress could not have been more perfect. It was so sleek and elegant, AND it was surprisingly sexy without being provocative at all. I got tons of compliments, and multiple people asked if I was a model! Some notes on fit: I got the 2L as backup and I would have worn that one if I was going out with my boyfriend and not my dad. There's a bit of give to the fabric, but not a ton, and the 2 was definitely a sexier fit, hugging my curves a bit more than the 4. I'd say size down if that's what you're going for. Length-wise, they say 5'6" is the cutoff for the long, but I'm 5' 7 1/2" and the bottom was just grazing the floor even with four inch heels on. Unless you're wearing huge heels, you might want to get the regular if you're my height or shorter. The sleeves were great for me, but I'm lanky. I'm not a fan of wearing heavy necklaces, so I didn't wear any statement jewelry. Instead, I wore some big round earings and gave the outfit some subtle pops of color with light green nail polish and some bright, blue/green patterned Pucci pumps I have. I want to buy it!!!!

I ordered hem tape and used this to tape up the bottom and sleeves of the dress (they run a little long). This worked perfectly!

It's not the original dress I ordered but Rent the Runway made sure I got something in time for my event. The dress fit so well all over and the only reason it doesn't get five stars is because the sleeves are weirdly long. It also got a little stepped on since I'm 5'3! Overall the fit was great for me and I'm so glad it got to me in time!!

The fit is everything people say it is. The fabric is lightweight and has just enough stretch to make it comfortable. If deciding between sizes, go down. I didn't have a backup size or dress so I was a little nervous, but this dress was everything others said it would be. Classy, versitile, modest and sexy. I would buy this dress in a heartbeat.

The dress was a perfect fit- it settles nicely at the waistline, and fits snugly around the arms and upper body. I have a fairly large chest, but I felt comfortable and feminine in this dress. I got so many complements! My only complaint is that the hem had partially come out when I got it, as had the sticking on one of the sleeves. I am 5'4" and wore massive high heels (5 inches) but still had to hold my dress up for most of the night because it was so long- especially with the hem coming apart. That being said, I was grateful to have this dress for the event. It is covered while still undeniably feminine. Will definitely use this service again!

I rented this dress for a very religious wedding in which I needed everything covered. It did just that and also flattered my figure very well. Although this dress was modest, it was also rather form fitting. The only downside is that the fabric doesn't seem to be made from the best quality and has runs everywhere. Luckily, only somebody paying attention to my dress would notice since it is black. .

Fit like a glove

I rented this to attend an orthodox wedding. It was great in that it met the dress code of a high neck line, going below the elbows and below the knees. The fabric was great and the cut was flattering and classic looking. I had many compliments on the dress. I probably would not have chosen it if it were not for the occasion but it was fabulous for the evening.

I work this dress to a black tie event and loved it! I wore classic crystal earrings with a low side bun updo and it completely made the dress. I would wear a higher heel as the dress is pretty long, even when though I wore the regular. I received many compliments and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a classic long gown.

I needed an elegant dress to wear in the Minnesota winter to a gala and this dress was perfect. Could be dressed up or down. I paired with rented earrings. Sleeves were a tad long and I have "ape arms" to begin with. Dress has 2 different fabrics.

When I saw other ladies' reviews, I was thinking this dress ran small to size. But 0R was the only size available, and 0R is what I usually wear... so I took a chance. It fit perfectly! I got so many compliments. The material feels amazing. It was pretty comfortable, and kept my arms warm and covered for a chilly winter wedding. Dress wasn't too long. Note there is a slit in the back, which I did not see in the photos.

The cons: It was too long. There's no getting around the fact that, at 5'2", none of the "Regular" lengths will fit, even with 3.5-4" heels (and I can't go higher). Some fashion tape worked well enough that I wasn't tripping on it all night. The sleeves were long, too, but nobody would notice. The fit was excellent, a little snug in the hips (probably I'm 34") and with a little room elsewhere. I wore spanx to even out the ... unevennesses, which looked amazing and made the dress comfortable to walk in. The fabric is much chicer than I could see online, which makes it great for formal occasion. This is on my potential to-buy list, given it's incredible versatility, comfort, and elegance.

the dress had some pilling but it is not noticeable as it is all black. I ordered the 0L since they were out of 2L and was afraid it would be super tight but it was relatively loose- so I would size down. It was also very long; I'm 5'8 and wore 4 inch heels and was still stepping on it just a little bit. It was perfect for the event I attended since I needed to be totally covered up, and I did receive a number of compliments, however it was not my favorite. Then again, it is a long black sheath of a dress, so outside of being minimalist chic, Idk what Iw as expecting. Functional more than fun.

I love this dress, it fit beautifully. I wore it in the summer time so I pulled up the sleeves a little and made it look more casual. I was able to wear spanx with the dress and got told I look like a model! The only negative is that the long is just a regular that was taken out so you can see the creases. Since the dress is black and the fabric is thick, no one notices.

The 4L was not available so I ordered the 2L. The 2L was really a little small for me, especially in the middle where the fabric changes and it seemed to bunch up (i'm 130 lbs). I probably could have gotten away with it if I had wanted to but it would have been tight. The dress itself is very nice, fabric is thick and dress is very elegant. Sleeves are a bit long and you'd need to use some tape to shorten them a bit. Also, long was pretty long - would have needed pretty high heels (I'm 5'6"). I would probably rent the 4L for a formal event in the future.

Ladies, you need a full bust for this dress to work. Like, at least a C cup. Otherwise the top kind of sag and gape. Also, the dress/arms fit fine if you have long limbs.

I didn't like this dress at all. I don't know if it was just the material, but it looked cheap. It also looked like it was pilling all over. The fabric didn't give, and it just wasn't what I was expecting. No wow factor.

I felt so amazing I this gown. You cant go wring with this one. The chest had detailing darting to make for an interesting gown. The detailing just breaks up the dress I think to make it more exciting. I would rent again anytime.

Like others have said, the two fabrics in the dress are very pretty in real life. Hard to capture on photo. Loved wearing it, had a great time at a wedding.

RTR saved the day again! I had a last minute invite to a gala and had absolutely nothing in my closet to wear. The RTR stylist helped me get this dress and another backup with less than a week's notice. This dress is stunning and was perfect for the event and venue (High Museum in Atlanta)! I usually wear an 8 so this was slightly large on me, but it was still flattering. I was originally concerned about the long sleeves but this was perfect for a rainy night in the high 60's. I would absolutely rent again!

It fits snuggle and accentuates your form. Paired it with a dark lipstic and bold earrings. Compliments all night!
