The dress was lovely and I got a TON of compliments. I'm pretty petite so I initially thought a 2 would be best...alas, that was too small. The size 4 fit much better. No bra was needed, as there was a built in bustier-type thing. That was a tad flimsy, but you couldn't tell with the lace overlay. Also, the bottom of the satin underlay was a little worn and I noticed a few small stains. Again, the lace overlay hid those imperfections well.

I manage special events for a ballet company, and rented the runway for a fancy cocktail gala I hosted. This was actually a backup dress they sent me because the original one I ordered got damaged. I am SO happy I ended up with this dress! It fit a bit tight at first, but molded to my body the longer I wore it. I was running all over the place and never had to adjust anything, and didn't need a bra or spanx. It was the perfect mix of formal and fun! Very happy.

I have never received so many compliments on a dress or have had so many people ask me where I bought a dress before. I am a 38C and have a swimmers upper body build so an 8 was snug in the chest but fit everywhere else including the back… The bottom quarter of my breasts were under the underwire line to get it to zip but it was surprisingly comfortable …

This dress is drop dead gorgeous and it very much saddens me to return it. The color looks darker/navy in photos, but its a lighter blue in person and just stunning. The 2 was too small for me (I couldn't even zip up the back all the way) and the 4 fit pretty good, it was a tad too big in the middle, but nothing to fuss over or notice really. I got compliments all night from friends and complete strangers, If you are thinking of renting this, you will not be disappointed....be prepared to feel beautiful all night and be told how great you look!

The color is beautiful. And my favorite part is the back!!! The dress is snug but fit really well. You don't need a bra because it has cups sewn in the dress. I received multiple compliments and can't say enough about this dress.

There is zero give in the material so make sure you also order a size up in case you're having a fat day LOL

The dress i originally reserved was out of stock, and after exchanging several emails with customer service i ended up with 4 options to choose from! I ended up wearing this dress because the fit was so perfect and it is the perfect mix of elegant and playful. Not having to wear a bra was also a plus!

The dress came and I was nervous that I didn't get the right size. I wore a 2 and it fit me perfectly! I felt so beautiful! The dress is classic and sophisticated and I can't even tell you how many compliments I got from strangers but in the end I felt so pretty and confident all night and that made my night. I didn't wanna take it off and it broke my heart to send it back if you're thinking about it, get it!

I rented this for my rehearsal dinner in Savannah, GA and it was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a more stunning dress. I paired it with nude pumps and it was perfect. The color and lace were wonderful, they made me stand out just enough from the crowd but are still delicate and feminine. The only thing I will mention about this dress is that the cups in the bustier don't fit like a bra does, they more rest on top of your own bra. You couldn't see this at all from the outside and it wasn't something that bothered me at all while I wore the dress. I felt like a million bucks in this and I would highly recommend it!

The open back makes this dress unique & elegant. I received so many compliments! The size 4 was a bit tight, especially to sit in, but the size 6 hemline didn't sit quite right. I considered giving it 4 stars because of this, but just too pretty. A great first experience from RTR!

I am 5'5" 160 I typically wear an 8 and that is the size I wore in this dress- other reviews mentioned it ran small so for the second size I got a 10 but the 8 fit nicely. It was a nice snug in the booty and chest but I wish it were more of a stretch material so it would hug in on the waist line too. I got compliments all evening I would recommend for sure!

I received compliments all night long! I felt amazing in the dress and danced all night. You do need a backless bra or no bra with this dress. Only issue I had was the lining was longer than the lace. This is one of my favorite dresses I've rented!!

Only con was slip was a little uneven at the bottom, had to keep pulling it up so slip was even. Love, Love, Love the color, got many many compliments all night. Ordered 4 and 6, 4 was too tight.

Rented this for my best friends wedding, I was the only one in her wedding party so I had full reign to pick anything. I am 10 months postpartum and I naturally have a protruding-belly-problem making the fit around the waist quite tight. I was able to button it but could not move so unfortunately decided not to wear this dress. I'm petite and have a short torso and most capped sleeved dresses often are too long in the shoulder area. But this dress fit perfectly from the shoulder to waist. Based on reviews, I got a 2 and 4. 4 was perfect except the waist. It also hides the belly really well. Highly recommend this gorgeous dress as long as you have a smaller waist

I thought this dress was very graceful and classic. It had a great fit and the color and lace were lovely. There were definitely some signs of wear and tear which was disappointing for such a high end rental but nothing that anyone would notice unless carefully studying. I would highly recommend this dress!

This dress was an emergency back up dress that RtR sent when my original didn't work. The wedding was a formal country wedding and this dress was a gorgeous show stopper. An added perk was the built in bra cups. I just wish it came with straps for the hooks. I know it's a nice fit, good lookin gown when guys compliment on it. Definitely a must rent.

The lovely Jessica helped me secure this dress after my original rental fell through. Good thing too, it went so much better with the evening! Photographs a bit different than it looks in person, and if you are larger in the hips and have a booty i recommend going one size up.

So many pros, so just listing the cons: The arm pit area rubs. It's pretty uncomfortable by the end of the night, especially if you dance a lot at weddings. Part of that could be my broad shoulders. Athletic body types may experience this. Body glide maybe? Ha. Impossible to put on solo, must have help because of buttons in the back. Other than that, it was absolutely perfect!

This dress was beautiful and the lace was not itchy (which can sometimes be a concern). You don't need a bra because it's built in, so no worries with the open back. My only problem with this dress is the zipper pinched my back at the very top and it irritated my back all night. I would still recommend it.

It was tighter at the bottom, but naturally I have a larger bottom. The top fit nice being that it had adjustable straps that were removable. I will say the dress looked a little wrinkled. It was difficult to get the wrinkles out of the under slip.

This dress was my second back-up dress after one of the dresses I ordered couldn't be sent due to damage. I ened up wearing the other dress I chose. This dress is really pretty, but was a bit too light colored for an evening in Vegas. Re: Fit- I have VERY broad shoulders and while the dress fit across the bust, it was too tight across the shoulders and loose around the hips. I would have wanted to get the smaller size for the hips, but it def wouldn't have fit me across the sholders then. Also- the lace overlay of dress is very delicate and you could clearly tell it had been worn many times before. The hem line in particular was pretty beat up, so even if it had fit well, I probably wouldn't have worn it due to the significant and obvious prior wear.

I loved this dress and found the quality to be remarkably high. My biggest disappointment was the fit. I have muscular shoulders and though the 6 fit perfectly everywhere else, the buttons behind the shoulders/at the neck would only button on the 8; I mean, not even close. I like to think that I could've forced the buttons if I didn't plan to turn-down-for-nothing dance, but nay. Also, not great if you are tall because it's a little short such that the cups don't stay under your boobs. I would not recommend this dress for anyone with an athletic build because you'll probably have to size up and thus, look heavier, but it would be good otherwise. The built-in bra was supportive. The dress is gorgeous. Just gorgeous.

This was sent as a last second backup for my replacement dress when my original order was damaged beyond repair. The lace is gorgeous. The color is a slate blue (a little bluer than the model picture) but for some reason photographs much brighter in many lights. This is evident from some of the previous reviewer's pictures. It is not that bright in person, but still a very pretty slate blue. I am short and it hit my knees so looked perhaps a bit matronly. I am typically a true 0 but I was a bit bloated that day so even the 2 was super snug. It puckered a bit around my thighs (my 'trouble' area) but even felt tight in my torso which is usually not a problem area for me. Also the lining peeked out at the bottom. Needless to say I did not end up wearing this, but I really felt it was a beautiful dress. Size up and get a backup of 2 sizes up!

This dress is fabulous. It is a true fitted style so make you order your size. It is true to size and I loved all the details and the open back really pulls this look together. Perfect for a more formal evening or event. I will be renting this again!

People absolutely flipped out over this dress and I was fielding complements all night. As the best woMAN at my brother's wedding, I was looking for an outfit that would combine masculine austerity with feminine elegance. With the sleek mid century tone and intricate lace pattern, this dress was the perfect fit for the occasion. When I first pulled it on, I wasn't sure that it would fit me. Thanks to a few weeks of hot yoga and some determined yanking on the part of my boyfriend, I emerged victorious...if a little snug. I definitely recommend this dress. At the end of the night, you'll need someone to help you take it off....so make sure you leave your event with a partner...in this dress, you'll attract plenty of volunteers ;)

It's a very pretty dress with a lovely, fitted silhouette and beautiful pale slate blue lace over a cream-colored lining. The material has no stretch and it was a little tight and not super comfortable to move in, but it was pretty enough to be worth it. The back is open and the top is tight, so I chose to wore it without a bra (there's also enough body in the built-in cups that this was fine). I found that the underslip wrinkled readily and the creases showed through the lace which wasn't great. And the main issue, as other reviewers have mentioned, was that for some reason the slip stuck out by a couple of inches and I had to hold it up with fashion tape and safety pins, but this messed up the hemline a bit because the slip was tacked to the outer dress on the sides so it rode up. If RTR's seamstresses fix this, it would be a stunning, super, if not super comfortable dress.

Please be careful renting the size 8. The slip hangs out below the lace on the bottom of the dress, I'd say about 3 inches. The boning around the rib cage and chest area is twisted backwards in places, and the bustier has lost its shape. It is a nice style, but this particular size is looking old and tired. I was sent this dress as a replacement for another style. Must have been a busy weekend at Rent the Runway, because two of my three original choices were pulled from my order at the last minute and I was sent a size 8 in this dress, which is not my size. I wore it anyway, as the other options sent to me did not work. So overall, it was loose on me, and was old and tired looking, but the lace was pretty and the color was a really nice blue, and that made up for the rest so much that I made it though the night feeling pretty good. I love Rent the Runway, and have had wonderful experiences so far, but was a little disappointed in this latest order.

Will definitely rent again, but in a size up.

Perfect fit...beautiful colors...love the back! Classy look but yet so sexy!! The only con was that the front lining was longer than the lace...:( but nothing that a double sided tape couldn't fix...;)

Rented the dress for a wedding. It is just as gorgeous on as it is in photos. Lots of nice detail in the stitching. Boning gives the dress structure and a more formal look.

The fit was perfect and if you want to show your arms & back, this is a great dress. I'm a swimmer so I felt amazing. Length is just perfect.

This is a beautiful and classical dress! It does run a little small. I ordered the 2 and ended up not wearing it because it was too small. They didn't have the 4 but it would have been perfect. The back was very cute and sexy. The lining underneath did stick out under the overlaying lace but if I had the 4 I think it might have not shown as much. I would definitely order again in a 4! I was hesitant about ordering this dress because they only had a 2 and I'm more of a 4... But I really wanted to try the dress... So RTR shipped this dress to me in a 2 and also shipped a second dress to assure me if this dress didn't work, I would have a backup dress! RTR has the best customer service by far!!
