Amazing gown! I wore the size 4 as this dress runs very true to size. I am 5'8" and wore the long length with 4 in gold metallic sandals and it was perfect. The slit was higher than I expected and hit at the upper thigh. You can wear a strapless bra with this dress but it also has built-in cups, so I went bra-less (34" DD.) This dress will turn heads and is a must-wear for a black tie affair!

A friend of my husbands recommended this app to us. I wasn't really looking forward in buying a $300 $500 dollar dress and never wear it again. Once I heard about RTR, I was intrigued. I would definitely recommend it to my friends. So affordable. The material of the dress is comfortable. Kept getting compliments all night.

I wore this to my medical school's formal and felt elegant and sexy-the high slit was a great contrast to the more modest neckline, and I got tons of compliments all night long!The top fit well, though I'm a 34B and could see how anyone larger than a C cup would probably find it too tight. The skirt was plenty roomy, so if you're between sizes, go with the size you are on top. At 5'9 and in 3 inch heels, the long length was perfect.

I am usually between a 2 and a 4 depending on how the dresses run so I always get one of each size! The 4 fit perfectly!

The fit was very fitted, it was a little tight but felt as if it loosened up a bit. I am on the shorter side so it was very long on me. If I were going to an event that required a lot of walking or dancing, I would have needed very high heels. The skit is a NAVY blue, not black as it appears. But I still loved it. The skirt was very soft and the bodice was a bit itchy for me, I don't like rough fabrics on my skin, but that's a personal preference. It photographed beautifully and I would highly recommend.

The bottom navy fabric was very staticky, I had to spray between the layers with hairspray to keep them apart. When I pulled it out of the box the very high slit, that I was so excited about was stitched together making it come down about 6". I ended up "ripping" the stitches out for over an hour trying to keep it pristine and undamaged. Once that was done it was perfect. It was worn with simple nude heels and Anton Hemus Lotus Pendant Earrings, found on RTR, they went together well. The editorial pick Oscar de la Renta Etoile Earrings definitely look the best and match the colors better, but they were not available for my event. I will definitely come back for more, especially for special bridesmaids dresses or a lovely justice of the peace wedding dress.

I was very excited about this dress, it was exactly what I wanted. It had everything, there wasn't one thing I didn't like or thought was missing out when I first saw it. I was a bit scared because I thought I'd be 4L and they only had 6R. I thought it was going to be big on me. When I received it, I tried it on immediately...I thought it fit like a glove, although the top net fabric was a little baggy. I wasn't noticeable to it wasn't a big deal. Now the bad part was the zipper. Sigh. The last dress I got had the same zipper and this one as well. They're so complicated. So hard to zip! Right before the event I couldn't zip it all the way up. I lied down, sucked it in and my last option was to zip it up backward. I have small chest so I turn the zipper to my busy area and that's how it zipped. Very annoying, I scared for a second. I was scared to brake but it ended up zipping. When I walked in to my party EVERYONE LOVED IT. Many compliments thought out the night. My favorite part was definitely the details on the top but the slit on the leg added the sexy part. (Btw the skirt is navy blue not black) Great dress, satisfied with everything.

I wore this dress for my untraditional wedding and I have never gotten more compliments in my life. I thought this dress was going to be black on the bottom, but it is actually a dark navy blue which for me still ended up working but I would have loved it even more if it were black. This dress DOES run very small. I ordered a 2L and a 4R because a long wasn't available in size 4. I am usually a size 0 in dresses so I thought I would be ok, but the 4 would have fit perfectly if it was long enough. I ended up wearing the 2L and it was ok, but a little tight around my ribs... but who needs to breath on their wedding day right? ha! Also the embroidery detail was fringing on the dress a bit and there was a few snags in the lace top, but they weren't in very noticeable places so I wasn't too worried about it. The button down detail on the back no longer exists and now it is just 3 buttons with a keyhole (I added a picture where you can see) which is still pretty, but not as awesome as all those buttons. Sadly, because of the winter weather disruptions, this dress did not arrive in time for me to wear to my ball. However, you better believe I still tried it on once it did arrive! I will definitely be renting this dress again. It's a little more expensive than my usual rental budget but it's certainly worth it. Very unique and surprisingly comfortable - truly a show stopper! The slit is very high, as mentioned by previous reviewers. However, with proper awareness (and proper undergarments), it shouldn't be a problem. The bodice isn't quite as delicate as I imagined based on the pictures but it's still lovely. Hopefully I'll get to give this dress a real test-run at another event in the near future.

This dress was beyond beautiful. The sheer sleeves and top were GORGEOUS (and will be on any skin type). The bottom was so flowy that you felt like you were flying when walking. The slit was a little high for me, so I just used some tape to fix it and that worked out fine. I didn't wear a bra with it because of the built in corset and that worked out pretty well, too. Just make sure to do some adjustments on the internal straps as it was a little tricky to get into. Overall, a beautiful dress that I wish I could have kept instead of returning!! Also note, that the color is a very dark NAVY, not black, and the top is a very light tan/champagne color. I wore some nude pumps and that worked great. Had also considered gold pumps and they looked good, too. You hardly need any accessories for this dress, it's such a showstopper! Truly enjoyed!

The dress was fabulous, it fit well but ran very long. I'm 5'7 and the regular length was a little long, even with 3" heels. The design stood out against all others and I got so many many compliments all night long. My favorite part of the dress had to be either the slit, (Beware: It is very, very high) or the slight train that ran behind. When you walked it flowed beautifully and I felt like a goddess. Overall its a great dress that makes you feel gorgeous with all its subtle, intricate details.

This dress is AMAZING!! I ordered this dress for my rehearsal dinner and wasn't sure what to expect, but I literally was in love with it. I was stopped by over a dozen people that night to compliment me and ask about the dress. But beware... It definitely runs small. I normally wear a zero and it took two people to squeeze and button me into the 2R. But it was 100% worth it.

This dress is beyond gorgeous, I have never gotten so many compliments on any of my gowns. The slit on me was just right, it was high enough to be sexy but long enough not to cause any Britney moments. The dress definitely runs long, I'm 5'4'' and with 3 inch heels I still had to hold up the side all night. NOTE- unlike in the pictures the gown does NOT have button all the way down the back which was a major disappointment, it only has three at the very top. Still a gorgeous dress however without that major detailing I find it hard to justify the 300 rental price.

So here's the skinny on this dress: if you are tall, it is amazing because it has a slight train in the back so it is plenty long. If you are athletic (I've been a swimmer most my life) and have lats, the waist is REALLY high-well above the natural waist on a tall gal-and difficult to close. It took a team of three to squeeze me into this thing. Mind you, I am thin, and in most dresses would wear a size 2L. So just be ready for that...order your regular size and a size up as your backup...if you're like me. Now for the upsides, this dress was GORGEOUS. The button up back was fully worth the effort that it took to get it buttoned...and unbuttoned ;) The embroidery was impeccable and stunning. The skirt was flowing and regal with an amazing sky high slit. Wax, shave, moisturize, because that leg will be on full display (one of my favorite things about this dress). The flowing movement of the skirt as you walk makes you feel like you stepped right off the runway. I love this dress and will definitely keep my eye on patricia dean in the future. I wish i had gotten better pictures of this dress, because it was TOTALLY elegant and beautiful beyond what you are getting in these pics...it completely fulfilled my expectations. I love rent the runway, the customer service is without equal and I will rent from this company again and again. Theres nothing like wearing a 2000 dress and paying a fraction of that!

Very comfortable. I'm usually a size 8 and the 8r fit perfectly. The black and cream with the lace was perfect for my formal event. Truly made me feel like I was on the red carpet!

The 4 fit perfectly. I still wore a strapless bra underneath, but could have gotten away without if I was a little bit fuller in the bust. Lots of comments and lots of standing around with my leg out, as the picture shows. Great for new years! Definitely needed help getting in and out of this dress, but hopefully you'll have some hottie willing to help :D

I didn't end up wearing it but this dress photographs beautifully. The slit is very high but it looks great. The bottom of the dress is a dark navy but it's hard to tell so it can pass as black. I didn't think it ran small at all but I have a smaller waist for my size. the arms have plenty of room which was nice and on my dress there was only a key hole back with 3 buttons not buttons all the way up but it didn't take away from the beauty of this dress. I did wish the dress was longer though it came about an inch or 2 off the floor in my 3 in heels but no matter It's definitely a show stopper.

I got this dress for my nephew's wedding, I was officiating and it couldn't have been more appropriate. The fit of the underwire bra was a little tight (I am a full B cup). I love the slit, since the dress is covered up having such deep slit gave the dress a bit of sexy. I posted the picture on social media and got a lot of instant message questions to where I had gotten that gorgeous dress. The dress is very long, I got super high heels (like 4.5 inches) and still drag a bit but then again, I am very short. The experience with RTR was unbelievable, my sister and I both got dresses and we both loved it. Their customer service was impeccable. I got this dress, it fit and didn't have/need a back up, my sister however ended up getting three different dresses until she got the perfect one. We would use RTR again for sure.

I had a few issues with this dress. I ended up having to wear the 8R because the zipper broke on the 6L. The 6 fit perfectly. The zipper was sticking when I tried it on when the dress arrived but my husband finally got it to work so I figured I was good. The night of my event the zipper kept sticking and then finally broke. The 8 was too big in the top and with me being 5'7" the regular length was too short. I wore it anyway (because we were already late and I didn't have anything else) and I got a TON of compliments. So in the end it was a great night in a beautiful dress.

I wore this to a formal black tie wedding and the compliments never ended!!! I was even told that I was the most glamorous one there! (I hope second to the bride of course!) The dress is absolutely gorgeous! From the detailing on the bodice to the flowy skirt. HOWEVER, be warned - the dress runs REALLY small. I usually wear size 0 or 2. I ordered the 2R and I could barely get it to close in the back! So, breathing and eating was labored all night. (small price to pay to ALMOST outshining the bride) Plus, it's VERY long! I wore 4' heels and it was still super long on me. I'm 5'2". Although there these minor issues, I couldn't have been happier to have rented this BEAUTY!

Wore this for the opening night gala of a film festival. Loved the detailed top of the dress. There are several buttons missing on the back and it forms a keyhole now, which was fine but the buttons are a beautiful detail I would have liked to have on there.

The only area that was tight was the bust/bodice. If you are busty or have wide-set shoulders, this may not be a good dress for you.

Wore this dress to a Southern wedding on an old plantation. Got so many compliments and felt super glamorous. It's a beautiful, unique dress, and it is very flattering, especially if you hate your hips, as I do mine. Unfortunately, the intricate buttons down the back are gone. There are just three buttons at the top of the dress, and the area where the laced up buttons would be is open. RTR should disclose this since the buttons are such a unique feature. The fact they were missing didn't ruin the dress for me, but I wish I'd known ahead of time. Dress definitely does run small. I usually wear a 2 or 4, depending on the designer, and I wouldn't have fit into this dress if it was any smaller. Overall though, I definitely recommend it.

Pros: The color combination of champagne lace and navy skirting was just simply amazing. The fit was extremely comfortable. Surprised to find the 14L and 12L to be far too large. Unfortunately the 10L was already booked out to another customer. Now for the Cons: 10R on someone 5'9 wearing 3" heels was still just silly. I truly needed the 10L. There is a slip underpinning and it never felt quite secure. You will need an extra set of agile hands to get these buttons secured! Once my husband got the gown buttoned, the hook and eye came undone. It had arrived this way and I had just assumed it wasn't properly fastened once it was received in. I do believe now the threading has just come undone and will need to be properly looked into before it goes out for the next renter. The gown itself may not photograph as elegantly as the image above. Don't let that stop you from renting! I had people coming up and stopping me all night long to tell me that my gown was their favorite. I was worried I had chosen too conservatively but clearly that wasn't an issue! We were unable to get any full length photographs. In the second photo you can see my husband unbuttoning the gown to try attempt to fix the hook and eye on the underpinning, all smiles, this gown is GORGEOUS. **It should be noted this gown has a very high waist, think right below your breasts** My experience with RTR was 5 stars from start to finish. Customer service was excellent, fast, top notch and I will Rent the Runway for all of my events in the future.

This dress and I went through all of the emotions together. When it first came, I really didn't love it but it ended up being another great rental! The color is definitely a dark navy and a cream or antique gold on top. The biggest thing that surprised me was the sleeve length; I felt as though they should have gone longer down my arm, but they were really more of a 3/4 length sleeve. The slit is quite high, but I felt like the flowy nature of the fabric kept all the things covered. I wore the regular length with flats to save my feet, and I felt like the top was very large compared to other reviews.

I had my eye on this dress for almost a year and had a black tie occasion to wear it. I ordered it along with a different style as a backup. The dress was beautiful, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't as figure flattering as the other option. Also, the sleeves were a bit stretched out and I felt like it made my arms look bigger than what they are.

I have never rented from RTR before prior to this rental, so I was a bit apprehensive. The dress came right on time, which eased my doubts and when I tried it on it fit like a glove. I couldn't have been more pleased. I received so many compliments throughout the night, I couldn't believe it! I only rented the 4R because the 2 and 6 size weren't available. I took the risk anyway! I was nervous about the sleeves being stretched out but they fit perfectly. The dress is navy at the bottom, not black like the picture but I preferred it that way. I highly, highly recommend this dress.

I originally ordered this dress in the 2L and 4L. When received an email a few weeks before my event saying that the 2L was damaged, I was so disappointed. But thankfully, the dress did run a little small and the 4L fit like it was made for my body. I absolutely loved everything about this dress. It was perfect for my white tie event. Many of the other reviewers commented that the bodice of the dress would not stay up. I found that the bodice stayed perfectly where I put it. It fit like I was wearing a strapless gown (except with a beautiful lace overlay). I did not end up wearing a bra with this dress because the bodice did not stay when I tried it on with a bra. I wouldn't recommend this dress for ladies who are a bit more busty. The lace on the arms was well fitted - but I think it depends on the dress you get. Other reviews commented that the arms were loose. The length of the dress was great with my 4"-ish heels. I am 5'7" and a 4R definitely would have been short. The material of the skirt was soft and stretchy - a deep elegant blue color. I wore this in September in Texas and did not get overheated during the couple of times I went outside. I would recommend this dress to ladies with long, lithe body types. It's beautiful and I was sad to see it retuned at the end of the weekend.

I wanted a black and gold dress (since it was the theme of the gala), The dress came and I realized then that it was very VERY dark navy blue. It worked beautifully anyway, of course, but I was surprised at the fabric's color when I got it (as opposed to the image on the web site). It fit beautifully! There is no give at the top (no stretch) so definitely make sure you rest two sizes to make sure one fits you best. I had to use the round-the-neck strap to hold the corset up under the lace. It was great! No problems there. The long and luscious and dense fabric of the skirt is SO fun to play with! All I wanted to do was walk around in long strides just to show off that long slit and the leg! ;) What a gorgeous dress. So flattering and beautiful. Thank you for carrying it, Rent The Runway! <3

I wore this dress for my engagement photos. It was exactly what I was looking for. The skirt of the dress is magnificent, silky, flows beautifully. I had to get a long which was fine because it was for photos and it looked great flowing in the wind. The arms were ridiculously tight. It took 3 tries and 4 people to get me into this dress. Definitely worth it, but wouldn't be able to go to an event for a night in it.

I was a little disappointed because some of the lace was ripped when I got it but fortunately it was not very noticeable.

This dress was absolutely beautiful! I found that it was true to size. I was worried because I have large arms and a large bust (38DDD) but both areas fit just fine. The sleeves are a bit shorter than I expected - they ended just above the wrist on me. I am 5'7" and wore 3" heels and the 14L was the perfect length. I received compliments all night! I would absolutely rent this dress again.
