Romantic, lovely lace! This beautiful Catherine Deane is a great go to for a cocktail or black-tie event. There's built in padding so you do not need to wear a bra. It is important to note that it runs VERY small. I could not even zip up the size 2 in the back. I'd recommend sizing up 1-2 sizes. At 5'7" it hit just above my knee. Pair it with neutral heels and delicate jewelry.

Thank goodness for other reviewers who suggested sizing up 2 sizes! The Black Halo dress I also borrowed was a size 0 and fit perfectly but I could barely squeeze into this size 4 dress! The nude dress lining also hung below the lace hem, so I had to use lots of fashion tape to shorten it about 3 inches! Beautiful dress though and I'd be curious to see how it fit when it was brand new.

So, I'm a true 4, but read the reviews..... the 8 was almost challenging to zip up. Definitely size up twice. Other than that, once it was zipped it was comfortable and very cute! Perfect for a dinner!

I listened to what others said and ordered up. I normally wear a 2 or 4 depending on the dress and a 6 fit perfectly. It's conservative but also fun! I would totally rent this again!

Definitely thankful for the reviews! I normally wear a 6, but the reviews all said this dress runs small so I ordered an 8 and 10 and wore the 10. The 8 was snug and I have a small chest, while the 10 was just about perfect. The nude lining was slightly longer on the back than the overlay but good tape held it in place. The zipper is near impossible to zip past the ribbon. My husband said it was the toughest one he's zipped for me to date. I received several compliments all evening. This dress was so comfortable yet a great departure from the routine dresses at my work holiday parties. The navy color was muted, but when the light was brighter it was bold.

Loved this rental for work. Easy to wear alone or with a blazer. I'm normal an 4 and the size 8 fit like a glove. Definitely size up!

Dress runs a tad small in the waist and torso. I ordered both an 8 and a 10 and wore the larger size. It fit very well and was quite comfortable. Size up for a backup dress. Well constructed, with built in padding, so no bra is needed. Perfect length. Simple accessories needed for this dress - the lace speaks for itself.

I didn't actually end up wearing it but would have if I had time! It was a back up I got when one size of my other dress wasn't available and the other dress was great too so I had to make a hard choice! It did seem to run small to me as I usually can wear an 8 or even a six. I could get the 8 on but it was not comfortable and the dress has no give. Great heavier material for fall!

Beautiful dress. I'm pear shaped, so the dress fit a little loose on top and snug on the bottom (which is to be expected with a sheath). The natural waist line hit beautifully. I'm 6' tall, and it hit just above my knee. It runs small- I usually wear an 8 and ended up wearing the 12. The 10 fit on top just fine, but was noticeably snug on the bottom, so I went with the 12. Gorgeous dress! Perfect for the early fall vineyard wedding I attended in Virginia.

Cons: It ran small and was a little short. The underskirt stuck out a little. Pros: beautiful color, lace and details. Fit my frame and body type well.

This dress was a replacement for a dress that didn't fit well. It is a very pretty dress and was very comfortable, unfortunately it just wasn't my style.

Received a lot of compliments although this wasn't the original dress I wanted. I received an email the day before my arrival date saying the dress I requested wasn't coming due to damages. Made for a very stressful day! Luckily, I live in Chicago and was able to go to the Rent The Runway store and find this dress and also was sent a backup in case this one didn't work. Even though a stressful situation, Rent the Runway staff was very helpful and understanding! The dress fit like a glove and I was very happy with it in the end. I wish the store in Chicago had other styles (this was the one and only dress I found that I liked out of all of them, thank goodness it fit!).

This dress definitely runs small. I tried on an 8 in the Chicago store and it fit really well. However, the 8 that was shipped to me was much smaller, and like another reviewer said, the lining underneath was popping out. I decided to wear the 10 because the fabric laid nicer and didn't have that problem. The 10 wasn't as flattering as the 8, but it was a more comfortable fit. I don't think I'd rent this dress again because of the cost, but I did feel beautiful and classy in it for the evening.

This dress is very pretty, elegant and looks as it does on the website. I typically wear a size 6, but Catherine Deane definitely runs small. I could not even zipper the size 6 closed and ended up wearing the back-up size 8, which pretty much fit me like a glove. I loved the look and quality of the dress. The only negative was that the lace seemed to have shrunk up slightly above the lining, which I assume happened from prior dry cleanings, so I had to tug at the lace when I stood up to pull it down and into shape. Regardless, this was my first RTR experience and I look forward to my next rental (arriving this week!). I love the concept of being able to rent a variety of dresses all from my home, while not having to spend time going out shopping for them and then keeping them in my closet! Bravo!

Rented this style for a party, did not wear. Found it to be tight and restricting in the shoulders and hips--probably better suited to a straight-silhouetted woman. Lace looks very pretty. Felt like it ran a bit small for a size 6.

Dress was very petty lace with a complimenting nude slip underneath. I ordered a 6 and it was very tight around the top of my rib cage. I could still wear it but would have preferred an 8. I also had a hard time with the zipper.

It's very well made and I received lots of compliments. But it was so tight it was uncomfortable, I even ordered one size larger than I normally wear as the reviews suggested. I would try it again, in 2 sizes larger than my usually size.

Lovely well made dress, but this dress runs small. This dress was sent to me when RTR couldn't send me my original dress in a size 12. I wear a 14 in most of the RTR stuff I order, but still request a 12 back up just in case. The shoulders were tight. The bodice was a little tight and I couldn't get the dress up past my bra strap. The dress neckline was tight as well. The waist if I had a 14 or 16 would have fit better. If you want this dress I highly rec. ordering it a size up an maybe even two sizes up.

Someone recommended sizing up 2 sizes and they were correct! Technically, I think 1.5 sizes up would have worked perfect but I don't like it being tight on my tummy. This dress was gorgeous and I received a bunch of compliments.

I wore this to a wedding and it was perfect. The slip shows in the front a little so I decided to fashion tape it which worked fine and didn't affect any lines. The material is lace so a little unforgiving, so I am glad I sized up a little for comfort.

Based on the other reviews I went up 2 sizes (a 6 from my usual 2) and it could not have fit better. One of my favorite rentals so far!

I completely agree with the other reviews--this dress is tiny! I went up 2 sizes and it fit, but the ribbon across the waist was still tight. I recommend getting 2 sizes up for your initial order and 3 sizes up for your backup, especially if you have a fuller bust. That all being said, the dress really is very pretty!!
