Got lots of compliments! loved it!

Was perfect and snug at the ribs and worked with a 2" heel. and less of a heel and it would have been too long! I wish I owned it....

As others have said, the dress was hard to zip once it got to the band. It required another hand and a bit of force but once it was on, it fit perfectly. The skirt was amazing; flowing perfectly when spinning/turning and it looked incredible when walking down stairs. The fabric was comfortable for the entire wear time. I wore 4" heels and it was about an inch off the ground. I did not need to wear a bra (though I am small chested) and the dress comes with cups. I'm not sure if it was a tear, but the zipper seemed to get twisted between the layers when it was fully unzipped. It was manageable but mildly annoying when zipping. Overall, I received countless compliments on the back and the elegant dress stood out among a sea of cliched beaded prom dresses.

Okay so...when the other reviews say 1) the zipper is very hard to zip and 2) the rib/waist area is tight, believe those reviews!! I normally wear a size 4 dress and I managed to fit into the 4, but it was close. I ordered a 6L as a backup and not only was the skirt so long I kept tripping but the sideboob/underarm area was definitely too large, so I decided to suck it up/in and wear the 4. However, it was all worth it--it was comfortable and flowy on the bottom with a lot of regal-swishing room. I got a L length instead of R, which ended up skimming the floor with my height +3" heels. My only criticism is that the color is a LOT darker than the picture. I would call the color closer to "black with a blue sheen," and the blueness is visible only in full light. Fortunately the color wasn't disastrous and I would totally rent again at another event!

Wore this dress for a black tie wedding in May. It was light-weight and comfortable for the warmer May weather. I did wear a sticky backless bra with the dress but you may not need it (I'm just self-conscious and felt uncomfortable without a bra). I wore a size 10 though I am usually a 6, but I think the 8 would have fit me fine (was not available). If you are more conservative I wouldn't recommend because the dress does go pretty low cut in the front, though there is a see-through lace covering.

This gown is so beautiful and elegant. It runs VERY small in the bust/rib cage area so definitely size up. There is built in padding so you do not need to wear a bra with this style. At 5'7" I could have used the long-length as opposed to the regular (pictured). This gown is perfect for a classy black-tie event. I love the back detailing and deep navy color. Would highly recommend this style!

I LOVED this dress! Compliments all night long and it was just so darn comfortable! The back speaks for itself -- it's completely gorgeous. I appreciated how comfortable it was, too, as I had to work a Gala event in it. The only small con is the zipper -- it took some mighty muscle and a lot of patience to get it over the second layer of fabric along the rib cage. Highly recommended.

I rented this for a black tie charity event. The only size available for the dates I needed was a 6L. I typically wear a 6 or 8 so wasn't sure if this was going to fit. It was a little snug around the bust and lower rib cage. definitely a two person job to get the zipper up. However it is a gorgeous dress and I wish I had more events to go to so I could keep wearing it! The front is low as well. Couldn't clip the backless/strapless bra in the front without it showing though the lace. However a little fashion tape made everything seem secure

This dress was gorgeous! It arrived in great condition and was very comfortable. The dress is a dark navy blue ( not black) as it appears in the photo on the website. I was able to wear a normal strapless bra with it and simply pulled it down a bit in the back so it wouldn't show. The details of the dress are simply beautiful. The gown fell in just a way to accent my waist without being clingy. The dress was classy, classic and gorgeous! Everyone I spoke with at the Gala told me how much they loved it! I did too! This dress has been my favorite rental from RTR so far!

The dress fit perfectly and was absolutely stunning. It has built in padding and fit so well that I still had some cleavage despite having a smaller chest. The only complaint I have is how hard it was to zipper. Once the zipper gets to the center band it gets stuck. I actually broke a sweat trying to zipper it. I am also only 5' 3", so the dress was a tad long. I just paired it with Steve Madden's Dejavu pump and was good to go.

It was a little snug at my rib cage when trying to zip it up, but I really liked the fit better on the smaller size I ordered. The zipper was a little stubborn half way up on both sizes. I loved it once it was on and it didn't feel right once it was zipped up. The long was really long. I'm 5'7.5" and I couldn't have gotten away without heals and it was at the floor with heals. If I order it again, I'll probably go for the regular. I loved the dress and was sad to send it back.

It was a little big on top but might fit better on somebody who is slightly bigger busted. I'm 5'10'' and the length was perfect for flats. The zipper was a little stubborn. Overall, the dress was super comfy and flowy and I got so many compliments on the lace back.

The fit was perfect. Fitted bodice and flowed effortlessly on the skirt. The deep plunge in the front made me nervous but the dress was so snug that It didn't move out of place. This dress runs long even in 6" heels the dress was still long for me. But I still loved it. Amazing dress.

Great fit & flowing gown. I'm only 5ft 2in and the dress hit the ground with 3in heals. It's the perfect length and style allowing to highlight curves. I received several compliments. The dress sizing was spot-on with typical dress sizing.

The dress is gorgeous! The back was incredible, but I was worried about the front looking boring. It was beautiful from the front too! The 8 was a bit tight on top but if you are smaller than a D you will be fine. Loved the dress!!

I ordered a 10 because I am losing weight and wasn't sure with this kind of gowns. The 8 would have fit perfect. This dress is a DREAM. First, nobody had rented this one before, so it came with designer tags and all. It flows beautifully when you dance, especially salsa turns :) The front: if your breast are "nice and young"you wont need anything, if you are have had kids and no time for surgery, just get some tape and perk them up like I did. Lenght was perfect for me because I like that way, I wore 3" heels and still touch the floor. I have another event today and I am waiting for another Catherine Deane dress. Can't say enough about this. Yes, everybody wanted to know where I got this dress, now all my girlfriends are glued to their computers searching RTR. Thanks

I typically wear a size 2 but I could not get the dress to zip up over my rib cage. I attempted to order a size 4 but none were available. I ordered a 6 and the dress arrived in 12 hours! The dress was a bit big in the shoulders, bust, and hips but it zipped over my rib cage so much easier. The fabric is phenomenal!! So soft and comfortable. My only complaint would be the waistband. The switching of fabrics definitely made this dress hard to zip up.

Gorgeous dress, came in great condition. The 8 was slightly too small around my rib cage so I opted for the 10R. Had to wear flats (I'm 5'8") or the dress would have been too short. The zipper is REALLY hard to zip over the band that runs under the bust. Overall a great, flowy, formal dress!

This dress was fantastic! It was the perfect length with shoes on, and was not dragging horribly when I took my shoes off to dance. I ended up doing a serious tape job to keep my boobs in place, but between that, and how thick the fabric was, they stayed in place throughout the whole night.

The back of this dress is spectacular but the front is kinda just ok. I thought it looked a little matronly except for the plunging neckline. It's also a weird fit for Apple or curvy figures. The waist was tight. I'm between a 12 and 14, and I rented the 14 as my $30 backup dress. The shoulders and bust were too big but the waist was almost too small. Also the skirt was very full and added to my hips in not the most flattering way. Glad I tried it on, but had no trouble putting it into the return package.

It was so easy to put on and made me feel beautiful. I wore a strapless bra to compliment the lace back that was just gorgeous. It was a perfect length too. I've been looking for an event to wear this too ever since I first rented it.

Wore this for a formal destination wedding. It was perfect! Since it was 2 degrees outside I wore running tights under and was amazingly comfortable.

I'm 5'1 and roughly (an athletic/muscular) 128 pounds, and wear a 34 C bra. I wore a size 4 petite and it fit just right. I ordered a size 2R as a back-up and it was honestly laughable trying to get the dress zipped. I had almost a six inch gap between the zipper. The four was still snug around my rib cage, but was not uncomfortable once I got it on. I wore 3.75 inch heels and the length was PERFECT. The plunging neckline was subtle sexiness, without revealing too much. The back lace was also just the right amount of va-va-voom. I didn't wear any type of bra with it, but felt perfectly secure and covered. I wanted to feel elegant, sexy and classy at a university alumnae gala, and this dress did exactly that. I got SO many compliments on the dress, and would definitely consider re-renting if I have another formal event in the future. For comparison's sake, I wear a size 0 in LOFT Julie fit pants, 2 in J. Crew skirts and dresses and a 4 in MM La Fleur dresses.

One note: there is a lot more fabric in the skirt than you would expect, but it makes the dress feel more substantial, and it makes it much more fun to twirl in. I wish I could have bought it and kept it forever!

Wore the dress to the Heart Ball. Fabulous dress. The fabric is heavy but flows very nicely. Love the lace detail, it's not as delicate as it looks. Wore with 4" heels, I'm 5'5" and the length was perfect. Can't wear a bra but front fabric is thick enough that it's comfortable. The only con is the zipper, worked up a sweat zipping it up even with help. The zipper is a struggle right off the hanger so not a size issue. Definitely would rent again.

I was approached and told by multiple people that I didn't know that I had the most beautiful dress. People asked me where I got it from and kept complimenting. It's perhaps the most beautiful dress I've worn in my life (well, except for my wedding dress).

Fit was great; I usually wear a 10tall or sometimes a 12 if the item runs small, but 10 had plenty of room in the waist. Front has enough structure to wear only stick on bra and the back is amazing. Had no difficulty with zipper as described by others. The gown flows beautifully when walking and dancing

What a beauty! The back of this dress made is one of the most beautiful dresses I've ever worn. I received so many complements. The side zip is rough so I needed help zipping it. I wore a plunge, low back, halter bra instead of the sticker bra. This mom couldn't go bra free. I recently lost weight and am somewhere between a 10 and 12. I wore the 10 because it fit like a glove and never tried on the 12. I have a curvy figure with a small waist. I'm 5'8" and 175 lbs, wore 2 1/2 inch heals and this dress was exactly the right length. Both of my young children were in the wedding so I was chasing them around in the dress so it has a lot of movability. I would highly recommend this dress if you are looking for a show stopper.

I loved this dress! It was super comfy, and looked beautiful on. I'm 5'7", and got the regular length, although I probably would have been happier with a long. I wore flats because it looked too short with heels on.

LOVED this dress. I rented a 4 and 6 and wish they have a 5. 6 worked fine, just a bit long for me. Super flattering (accentuates waist but hides tummy!). Zipper is really hard to zip - you'll need someone to help, and don't be afraid to pull HARD. Dress is a kind of heavy but super fun to dance in. The back is obviously the highlight, but the lacing on the front is super pretty too. Received tons of compliments.

This dress was so incredibly comfortable and the back was stunning. I got so many compliments. It was such a unique and flattering style. I think it ran a little short. I'm 5'10" and wore 3" heels, but I ordered the 12L I'm usually a size 12. The dress was a good inch off the floor. Other than that it ran true to size. The zipper wasn't an issue for me. I don't think it was hard to zip. Just give it an extra tug!

This dress runs true to the size. I've rented 8R and fitted perfectly...I am tall and the regular size was long enough to wear high heals. I got many compliments....the detail on the back is the main feature of this dress!

This dress is absolutely beautiful and I received compliments on it all night. I wore an 8R and at 5'7 in 4 inch heels it just skimmed the ground. I wouldn't recommend the extra length for anyone under 5'10. The front is a bit lower cut than it appears but I think with the proper size anyone could go braless, even busty girls. The fit should be pretty true to size in my opinion. A 6 wasnt available so I got an 8 and a 4 (8 was a tad roomy but still great, the 4 zipped but puckered at the chest).
