I wore this dress to an awards ceremony where I was being honored and got just as many compliments on the dress as the award. The color is more purple than blue, but is really elegant. The dress is a bit snug but is very flattering for someone with curves. It is formal enough for a nice event, but the back detailing makes it still fun and youthful for a wedding or something like that. The zipper- as I had read on other reviews- is a bit difficult, but as long as you have someone who can help zip it up it's fine. I would definitely rent it again!

Being only 5'3'' I wish the dress was a little bit shorter, however I loved how the dress fit. I did not need a bra, and I was complimented all night on the dress. I did have to ask a friend to zip up the dress (since my fiancé was in the wedding and not able to help!!) as the zipper was very hard to do. I probably could have tried a 4 on instead of the 6. The 8 was extremely large on me.

This dress was perfect for a semiformal outdoor wedding in Texas. It was tasteful for being around my family, and still had some personality with the little cape and cutout in the back. Color was the rich purple I expected. I was glad I'd read reviews that it runs small. I'm normally a solid 6 (occasionally a 4) and the 8 fit wonderfully -- tight enough up top that I didnt need a bra (34C) and straight-cut enough at the bottom that it didnt hug in weird ways. Zipper was finicky as others mentioned but I didn't have much problem with it. Overall a wonderful experience to have the perfect dress waiting for me at my hotel. Thanks RTR!

I wore this dress to a rehearsal dinner. It fit perfect and received tons of compliments. BUT YALL this zipper took 45 minutes and two people to get up and an additional 45 to get down! Not so great after a late night! While the dress was amazing, I'm not sure the pain of the zipper was worth it.

I rented this dress to wear to a formal wedding. I'm 5'5 and 130 lbs, normally wear a size 4 or 6, and wore this dress in a size 6. Definitely couldn't have gone any smaller, the 6 fit well but was tight around my ribcage. The only thing I didn't love about this dress was that the back detail kind of made me feel like I was wearing a cape. But overall it's a very classy dress, great for an elegant event.

Overall, I liked this dress. Fit true to size for me. It was conservative enough for a family wedding but interesting enough that I didn't feel dowdy or boring. There's lots of structure in the bust and I didn't need to wear a bra. The color was a little darker than I expected and definitely purple, not blue. The dress is a little hard to put on (need to do hair and makeup AFTER putting on the dress) and the side zipper is a challenge -- I needed my husband's help.

This dress is beautifully made and flattering. Runs a tad small- I initially ordered a 2 for a wedding but it was uncomfortable. Swapped it out for a size 4 and was much happier. Normally I'd wear a 0-2. Zipper is a bit tricky. I wouldn't recommend for work- the back was a bit to revealing. But lovely for a cocktail event, wedding or date night. (Though my husband didn't love the "cape" or wings on the back of the dress)

I am usually between an 8-10. Went with 10 based on reviews and size chart for this brand. Fit perfect. Received a lot of compliments and felt comfortable dancing all night. Material is thick and did not need to wear a bra.

This dress was so flattering! I received a ton of compliments and had no problem wearing it all night. Very comfortable and easy to move around in. My only complaint is that the zipper is difficult to get up but, other than that, loved it!

The dress was great and fit very well. I received all kinds of compliments on it. RTR sent me an additional package of dresses because the original order was delayed due to a mechanical error with the plane. RTR was so great to deal with and did not charge me for the additional package they sent. Timing was a little tight but it all worked out in the end.

Great cocktail dress. The back is definitely a show stopper. Color is very different and pretty as well. Quality of the fabric is extremely nice. I felt very luxurious in this dress.

For an 8, it was a bit snug. However, because of the snugness and good fabric quality, I needed no spanx! I wore a bra and wish I didn't. I wear 32DDD and NEVER not wear a bra. I thought I'd be self concious of them flopping around all night. Instead, (the racer back bra looked better than a strapless with this dress cut) my bra peaked out the entire time and I kept trying to push it back in. To my large chested ladies, go camo all the way with this one...it holds everything in place! I felt super sexy! And the cape and open back help draw away from other "imperfections" (belly pooch, etc). I will, one thousand percent, order this dress again!

My two other dress choices were a disaster fit on me. So Rent The Runway customer service came to save the day and chose this dress for me. Looked at it really quick on the phone and went with it in a size 6. This dress was great! It was just a teeny bit snug on me but it didn't bug me at all. It was a simple dress but with a little pizazz with the upper back detail. Super comfortable too! Would recommend for sure!

This dress fit perfectly. I didn't have to wear a bra (a tough feat for a D cup) because of the thick material. We debated whether the color is purple or navy blue-- no conclusion. Like other reviews have said, the zipper is tough. You just need to use force! I highly recommend this dress.

I listened to what others said in their reviews on here and decided to size up- I usually wear a 6/8 but went with a 10. The dress's zipper was a little bit of a challenge but once on it looked fantastic. I received a ton of compliments! This dress is a little more on the deep blue/purple side.

I don't always go for form-fitting styles, but this one is extremely flattering, especially if you like showing off your back and booty. The fabric is thick and structured and easily smooths any flaws. It's also really sexy without showing too much skin. I felt fantastic in this dress and received many compliments - my hubby loved it too! The other reviews are true - it is purple, not blue, and the zipper is HORRIBLE. You will definitely need help getting into this one, but it's worth it!

I was attending a work related awards ceremony. I needed a dress that was classic, yet sexy and easy to wear. This dress did ALL of that for me. I got a TON of complements. The zipper was REALLY tough, so I had to ask for help getting it on. I am a size 34DD and the dress was quite tight around the bust, but I didn't need to wear a bra! YAY! Overall, I would rent this again in a heartbeat!

Loved this dress! It's very high quality and although it fit snug, it was stretchy and the fabric was thick making it very flattering. I loved the cape in the back and the color was gorgeous. It looked great in photos. I have a smaller bust and rib cage with curvy thighs and a booty and this dress was perfect for my body type.

I was afraid this dress wouldn't fit because I had read the reviews and I think I am usually a 12, but you never really know with designers. I always want the option to go up a size. Unfortunately I just had to take the chance and order only one size. The reviews talked about the terrible zipper. I had the same experience, but what I found was using a little blue crayon on the zipper to get it both up and down was the trick!! After using the crayon, the zipper went up without much tugging. The back detail made the dress special. There is a slit in the back that goes up a ways, so the biker short style shapewear I had couldn't be worn; I went and bought a legless one. It didn't ride up, no tugging or repositioning during the night. I would rent this dress again.

Needed a dress to wear on stage. Something professional yet fitting. This dress was perfect for that. I talk with my hands so the sleeveless dress gave me room to do that.

I wore this dress to a September wedding and received so many compliments. The dress is classy but sexy. It is form fitting and the fabric is thick enough that I did not have to wear a bra. I ordered a zero and a two and ended up with the two because the the zero was too tight around the chest. I would definitely recommend this dress.

This dress skimmed the body but looked great on an athletic,curvy build. The color was rich and vibrant. The small cutout in the back was slight but left a dramatic effect. The length left it feeling classy. It was hard to get into and I had to have help zipping and unzipping.

Turns out the zipper was a little difficult on the 8, too, so I think the openings in the back of the dress just make it a little challenging to zip up. I wore this for a wedding rehearsal brunch. The little cape in the back made it super unique. I'm 5'3" 140lbs with an athletic body type and curvy on my bottom half. A 6 was perfect for me. The fabric and inner lining is quite thick (which was great for accentuating my figure!) - probably not ideal to wear in too hot of weather. I received a lot of compliments! Highly recommended!
