This dress looked completely different on the website but I'm so glad I rented it. The way the outer skirt flowed when you walked, the way the bodice snatches, oh it was amazing.

I had to go up 1 size. I am 5'4 1/2 and wore medium heels and the "P" length was just above the ground, Regular would have been sweeping the floors and getting caught on everything. Had to lift it to walk up/down stairs. Very difficult to steam and the cape gets wrinkled very easily. Like others said its a mini dress with a cape. Very snug to get into, had to wear shaping undergarment to be able to close, even after going up 1 size. Appropriate for a fancy event.

Didn't end up wearing but loved the unique aspects of this dress - especially the silk cape. Was very flattering and didn't need a bra.

Fit was perfect, this is soo flattering and comfortable. I did wear really high heels and even then I had to lift the bottom a few times to go up and down stairs. But the short/long style, knot detail on the waist, and shoulder/neckline really makes this stand out from other black dresses. Got compliments all night! Wish I had another excuse to wear it!

Slightly small on the sizing but loved the high low for a work holiday party comfy straps as well.

This dress was extremely flattering! I had my eye on it for a while. It was perfect for a fall, black tie optional wedding outside NYC. I ordered the 8 and 10 and decided to go with the 10, although both sizes did fit. Just to note - the dress underneath is quite short and can ride up when you walk, make sure any spanx or under garments won’t show as you move around throughout the event.

Beautiful dress! Comfortable, youthful and fun. Easy to dance in. I was lucky that the outer layer of the dress in size 8 was closed to the level of the under dress.. The size six opened all the way up to the waist, which was not as faltering for me.

I almost didn’t rent this dress because of the other reviews but took the risk. It’s basically a mini dress with a cape around the bottom. The mini skirt part is tight, but it was still doable. The cape part is gorgeous, especially when you walk. I love that this dress was so different and made a statement.

I would definitely order a size up. I am usually a 2 and the 4 fit just right. Other than that it was a perfect dress for the formal wedding occasion.

I don’t know why this dress has negative reviews. It’s absolutely gorgeous and comfortable! I wore it for 10 hours while attending a black tie wedding. I am 5’3”, 125lbs, somewhere in between a petite and athletic build and the 4R fit like a glove. After finding the dress on RTR I googled it and found it on the designers website and chose my size based on THEIR sizing chart. It was accurate. It’s very elegant and flows nicely when you walk :)

This dress was perfect! The short part of the skirt made it fun and sexy, the long part formal and lovely. I'm really skinny through the ribcage and it fit perfectly, plus hid bulges lower down. It was comfortable for dancing and no bra needed!

Loved this dress it was the right amount of sexy and sophisticated for a black tie optional wedding! I agree with other reviewers, the under skirt is very fitted and short so I found myself pulling it down often. I wish it came in petite as the straps were a bit long for my 5’2 frame. I was able to pin it behind the front knot to make the straps more snug. Definitely size up 1.

The size 2 top fit perfectly, the bottom was tight and the dress was too short

The lower part of the dress is really open and shows a lot of leg. It’s a super pretty dress, but might not work for a formal occasion due to the leg situation

Typically wear a 0 but both the 0 and 2 were so tight in the bodice I could not zip however I am full chested. I could not wear at all.

Size up TWO sizes! The under skirt was very tight, making the sarin fabric open up which to me doesn't look good.

Im normally a size 4 or 2. Got the 4 and 6 in and neither fit- they have the TINIEST skirt inside that has no flex/stretch to it.. The Skirt must be a size 0 and then the top on the 6 was a bit baggy. Sadly I couldn't wear either size at all.

This dress is beautiful, and I wanted it to work so badly! I’m typically between a size 10 & 12, so I ordered both. When I ordered the dress, there were no reviews so I was taking a chance hoping it would work! I tried on the 12 first, and could barely get the dress on. Also did not realize that the slit in the front goes up as far as it does. I did not end up wearing the dress. For all my girlies with wider hips (like myself) size up AT LEAST 1 size, ideally 2.

Didn’t notice the inner layer has an internal very short skirt before I rented it
