This dress runs true to size. I wore a size small which was very comfortable for me. The dress had no stretch so the XS was too tight in the back and arms. The small I had more movement in, therefor I would recommend doing your usual size for primary and one size up for backup. It is fitted and the skirt is roomy. It works best for all cup sizes and can be worn with a standard bra. The dress hit below the knee for me!

I am a size 4/6 so the built in belt /cinched waist was a bit tight but being that I am petite, if I went up a size, the dress would have swallowed me. It's very elegant and classic. I enjoyed wearing it for my photo shoot. I also loved that the buttons started in the center then went down the side.

Perfect classic white dress for work! Comfy, crisp, and tight around waist to emphasize figure. It was very tight around waist and I have a small waist! Had to hold my breath to get the button fastened.

While I rated this dress as true to size, I would say it's big and it's small at the same time. The waist is very small and the top and skirt are very big. While overall I like this dress I think it would be better if it was a bit more tailored at the top and skirt and maybe just an inch bigger in the waist. But I Guess you can't have everything!.

This looks adorable on, but the waist is WAY too small compared to the oversized chest and skirt. (And way too small for a size medium in general) The asymmetrical front is also not quite off-center enough, so it looks like maybe you just got the dress twisted in an odd way. I had several compliments, but also had a few people asking me if my dress was supposed to be off-center.

You shouldn't expect a tight fit.

I loved this dress in theory. I rented for a horse race and felt confident overall. The fit of the dress is rather odd. I'm typically a small, but glad I ordered the medium backup. The small should have fit, but I just couldn't but around my waist and torso. I ended up wearing the medium, which was still tight, so I wore a leather belt to hide the fit.

It was tight in the waist, and flowed outward. I felt frumpy in it, as it made my lower half look like a hot air balloon. It's well made and could work for another body type with narrower hips.

Waist was super tight (and I have a pretty small waist in comparison to the rest of my proportions). Going a size up would have made the shoulders and the rest of the dress too big.

This dress was just okay to me. I normally wear a size 4 so I selected small for this. The dress was quite snug in the waist because the fit there really didn't allow any wiggle room. While it was tight in the waist it was very big everywhere else which is why I didn't use my backup which was a medium. The other issue with the dress was that it was 100% cotton which means that it was very difficult to get the wrinkles out of it. It arrived VERY wrinkled in the garment bag and I ironed it and used a steamer and was still never able to remove most of the wrinkles. It probably would've worked better to send it to the cleaners but I didn't have enough time to do that. Even with all of that, I still received several compliments on the dress.

The waist is exactly what others have said: just too dang small. It went around my ribs so it's not like I could even suck in or make it work. There's no give to it so it just really doesn't work. The rest of the dress is nice and I think would be really cute, but it didn't fit for me and I don't think going larger would be flattering in the other areas of dress. Maybe if you're super petite and can rent a M it would work?

Too tight in waist, but larger fit everywhere else.

The waist on this dress is incredible small. I was able to button it, but just barely and I'm pretty slender. As other reviewers have mentioned, the buttons are asymmetrical, but the effect is awkward so that it just looks off. This would have been uncomfortable to wear because of the fit, and i decided it wasn't worth it since I did not like the look overall.

It's such a cute dress but unfortunately it was too small to even try on. Wish I knew to go up a size!

When the dress arrived, I could tell by looking at it that it was going to be longer than knee length on me. It also had a band around the waist to help it cinch in the right way, but the band was much tighter than the other parts of the dress, giving it a sort of off balanced look of loose arms and extremely tight waist.

Dress looks nothing like the picture. Proportions are off and make the fit unflattering.

This dress somehow runs small and huge at the same time. The XS was tight in the waist where it cinches, but otherwise huge. I was swimming in it. It looked like a white sheet draped over my body. If I were much taller with much longer arms this may have been cute, but I returned right away.
