I received so many compliments wearing this dress. I ordered the 10R and it was about 3 inches too long. I wore four inch heels and needed to use Hem tape to make it fit. I hemmed the front but let the back drag and it was beautiful! Beautiful gown, perfect for a grand occasion.

The only downside to this dress is it fits really slim through the hips and thighs. It was also a little big on the waist, which is a common problem for me because I'm pretty curvy, but adding a belt fixed the problem. Also something to note: the petite size will NOT work if you are 5'3" and want to wear heels. Didn't even touch the ground when I was barefoot. I'm not normally a petite, but it was the only size 6 left, so I was hoping it would work! Gorgeous dress though, perfect for my event!

The dress was a bit big on me in the waist and hips but the top collar part fit perfectly. So a smaller size would have been uncomfortable. The length is super long for a regular, but since I wore 3 1/2" heels it worked out. Definitely know your size if you order a dress like this. Other than that the dress was to die for.

What a gorgeous dress! This was my first Rent the Runway purchase and it was worth every penny. The dress is pretty true to size but does run a tad small. I am 5'8" and am happy I got the 6L - it was the perfect length with my heels. I didn't want to send the dress back! I got so many compliments - everyone loved it!

I saw this dress and fell in love! As someone told me at some point of the night: "Now that's a dress!" I'm usually a size 6, but the size 6 regular was not available so i ordered the 6 Long thinking heels and slight train wouldn't hurt. At the very last minute, I received an email saying that the 6 Long was unavailable because the prior renter damaged it. However, THANK GOD I ordered a second size just in case! It was meant to be. The 8 regular was a bit roomy for me, however, length wise was perfect. RTR even sent me two back up dresses in my size 6 due to the last minute damage. (Both were beautiful and had similar elements, but just not the dress that I fell in love with.) I wore 4 1/2 in. heels and it was perfect where my toes would peek out and have the slightest train the back that didn't drag. This dress has no stretch at all, so if you're a "perfect" size of a dress, and going to an event that has great food, get the size up, and don't forget the dress has to fit when you sit down too! It was perfect for a black tie NYC wedding and the lace panels by the knees, cut outs at the top, and "just low enough back" gave the dress an elegant, yet classy edge. The back was not too low where a strapless bra would show, and even at the size up, it was figure flattering. The dress is not clingy, doesn't show any "lines," and smoothes out any concerns. Tip: When you're walking up stairs or sitting, just make sure you don't tug at the lace panels. I made sure to be very careful and pull up the dress from being stepped on at the parts that weren't lacey. You can definitely move in the dress, and I danced without worries.

My measurements are 36, 29, 41. I suggest if you are a curvy lady go up a size. This dress hugs your hips and there is no stretch. I usually wear a six and the six fit my chest perfectly, but I couldn't get it down over my hips so I HAD to go up to the eight which fit my hips, but was loose on my chest, that was remedied with a belt. The lining in the dress is awkward and the dress would be much better if there wasn't a lining at all. I got the 8L because I want the dress to be floor length and have a little train. I feel like that made the dress very elegant. Overall the dress was great and I would definitely order from RTR again.

I rented this dress for my senior prom and i couldn't have been happier with it! I got the 8 and the 10, ended up in the 10 since the dress is fitted in the thigh area and I'm a water polo player so i have pretty big thighs. The overall fit was great! Right below the cut out in front, which has a white strip behind it so it isn't see through, it sometimes bunched a little weird but i just had to pull it down a little and it was good!

This dress was amazing. I wore it for Princeton's Army Ball and I got a ton of compliments. It was very form fitted and didn't give much. But, I have a very large chest and didn't have any problems at all. The only downfall to this dress was I found it a little short for a 6P. If you have a large chest, I would consider sizing up. The back was beautiful and the front diamond was not see through which I liked. All around, you could not go wrong.

It was quite tight on my chest and I am barely a B cup, I can't imagine anyone with any sort of more acceptable chest size wearing it... It's beautiful, but requires that you have no boobs.

This dress fit like a glove. I am a size 4 - top & bottom. I am 5.7 & ordered tall, regular probably would have been ok. But wore sky high heals so worked. The back of the dress is stunning - sorry no photo ;(

Love the fabric and cutting of this dress. The fabric is thick enough for a cold night and the cutting helps accentuate the waistline. The length is a bit long for 2R. Wear this with higher heels!

I attended a black tie event and was a knock-out! I received so many compliments, the dress has an underlying slip that is intended to hug the hips. I have hips, so it worked in my favor. I have a very small waist and semi-broad shoulders, so the dress was somewhat loose on top. But it was the perfect length, it was my second choice after my initial choice for a gown was unavailable. It was simply beautiful.

The dress was amaazing! Everyone loved it and It's absolutely gorgeous. The only problem was the fit was really loose on me. I'm usually a size 6, but I wish I would've gotten a size 4. Overall the dress is truly fantastic!

I'm pear-shaped. The 2R was snug on my hips, but it fit. The torso/chest was a little loose, so I think a 2P would have fit better. The length was long, so I wore the highest heels that I had and then it was perfect.

I love this dress! (Apologies for the blurry picture). It was stunning and made me feel glamorous, elegant and unique for a black tie holiday party. I had so many people stop me to comment on the dress... It was overall a very positive experience but there was a distinct odor to the dress that I will go into detail about at the end of the review. My experience: BRA: The description says you can wear this dress with a regular bra. I don't see how that's possible unless you just don't mind the back and straps showing. I wore a tape on bra. I tried on several options - a backless, strapless bra, petals, tape on full coverage. I am a 34D so I felt the best in the full coverage tape on because it provided lift without showing FIT: The material of the dress has no stretch. I probably needed a size 6 top half and a size 10 bottom. I wore the 8L after reading the reviews. It was a little big on me through the bust and shoulders. However, across the widest part of my hips, it was very tight. LENGTH: I am 5'5" and even with my highest heels, the front brushed the ground. The backhand a little mini train and is longer than the front, which I could not tell from the pictures. I wound up holding the back of the dress in my hands while dancing. One really important thing I want to mention. When I got the dress in the mail, I was happy with it and could tell it had been cleaned. However, it had a faint hint of an odor to it. As in body odor. I dismissed it as being chemicals and the type of fabric on the dress. I wish I had put it in the dryer on a steam cycle to refresh it before hand. I had it on maybe 15 minutes and could smell the odors even more strongly. (It wasn't me - I had freshly showered before hand). I was terrified to raise my arms for other people smelling this. The event was at a country club where I went to the ladies locker room and proceeded to take off the top part and scrub the arm pits with soap and water to try and minimize the offending odor. I sprayed the armpits with the odor neutralizer in the bathroom as well. It helped some but I was self conscious of the smell all night. Perhaps the one I received had been used or worn too many times or did not get a thorough cleaning to remove the smell from previous wearers. None the less, I looked and felt amazing in the dress. I just made sure to stay an arms distance away and dance with my hands close to my side all night.

The dress fit extremely well around my breast and even in my core areas, it was a bit snug around the hips. The length was perfect for me at 5'6. The lining had holes in it which would case the area around my legs to pucker, that was really the only annoyance. The dress itself was structured pretty well. I would recommend this dress for someone with my body style.

I rented this dress for upscale all black party on a Sunday before a holiday. Received both dresses on Friday 4L and 6L(based on the recommendation that curvy women should go up a size), I needed regular length but it was not available either size. When trying on the dresses I knew that they were going to be long, I didn't expect to be drowning in the 6L and 4L was only a little bit better. I attempted to have a 2R delivered but due to the holiday the soonest I could receive a dress would be Wednesday. Had no option but to wear the 4L, I have a small waist, flat stomach and I'm not very busty 30D, the top of the dress was very loose. It made me look shapeless not feminine at all, left a gap in the back making it easy to see down the dress. I got very creative with undergarments and body tape and was able to make the dress work. I did receive tons of compliments on the dress, both verbal and nonverbal. Dress was very comfortable, even with the body tape and extra padding. I was able to dance and walk, I did need a little help going up and down the stairs due to the length. I would recommend an eight day rental if your event is in conjunction with the holiday and/or weekend.

I definitely wish I would have gotten an 8L. I thought it would have been to tight but the 10L was too baggy definitely. It was perfectly long and wasn't dragging on the ground too much. It dragged just enough for it to be very sophisticated and sophistication is hard for someone with my baby cheeks to come by. I bought the gold belt in Topshop when I was in London, and it helped to give the dress some shape and look cute! I don't think to took attention from the dress either. (Our Prom was Great Gatsby themed). With a simple, gold, twisted, sparkly headband and long ring from Claire's, I was good to go. Great dress if you want sophistication and originality in a sea of teenage girls with bedazzled bodices and poofy skirts.

I would say that I was happy enough to weard this one, it's just wow!. however the fit it's really weird, so I will advice you , first be sure that you have the model on the pic body. this dress was made for tall ladies even that I'm not shorter , the trouble was at waist to shoulders and it's tight on your arms, thank of God my arms are super tinny so was fine for me. I love the lace details, I love the fabric and I love the design. again be sure that you have hourglass body , petite belly, big butt would be better and long waist, talk with help center about your size cause that dress need specific sizes. also because it's really busy on details I regreat about to leave my hair long rather than up do, but I had so much fun and eyes on me.

I loved this dress, I wore the regular size I guess, but it was still 3.5" too long for me. So I ended up having to tape it up, which worked fine. The front is not actually just lace, it's lined behind it, so I was able to wear a strapless bra which was nice. It was very form fitting, however, the longer I wore it it had some stretch to it. I think in the sizing it says the dress is slim in the hips, I agreed with that. I would not recommend this dress for someone with very wide hips, unless you have huge boobs to fill out the top, since you'd probably have to size up to fit. However, I got a lot of compliments- but mostly from older women. It is very fitted and sexy without being slutty.

The skirt flows so elegantly and the bust is perfect for my figure, I'm boxy/athletic and have big shoulders so i was very pleased..

still had some pregnancy weight I was trying to shed.. this dress worked great unfortunately the dress was longer than i thought. the torso area was longer than expect and fabric material was slightly heavy but other than that the dress was beautiful.

I was a "black tie vampire" for Halloween and this gown was PERFECT for the occasion. The 6 petite was the only size left that might fit me, so I took a chance. It was VERY tight around my bum, but everyone said it looked great. I felt incredible wearing it. Great structure through out the dress, gives a nice waistline and the back is very sexy. Lots of compliments- one friend said "You MUST buy that dress!" And then she laughed when I said it was $3000. I'll just rent it, thanks.

Beautiful gown! I'm 5'2 and wore rather high heels and the 4 regular length was just fine! Very elegant and modern!

If you have a big derriere it might be too snugged.

For a short girl like me, the dress fit perfectly - maybe slightly long even though I had the petite size. I loved the way it hugged my hips and lengthened my silhouette.

Elegant. Expensive fabric. Sexy inlays. Great for a high end gala. Great for women with curves.

While I had some extra room in the waist area, the lining underneath was a little snug around the thighs. If you are a runner as well, you may experience the same (though minor) problem.

I absolutely loved this dress and wanted so badly to wear it but it was NOT made for anyone with any type of curves - the 4R top fit me totally fine however I could BARELY get this over my hips and it just looked ridiculous - the size 6 was not available but the way the dress was I feel like I may have even needed an 8 which would definitely have been too big on top so it was just not meant to be :(

This dress was absolutely lovely, and I would highly recommend it for those with boobs. The only problem is that it runs large on top. I am a small A and while it looked good through the bottom half of the dress, it was just too baggy on top to be flattering. I wish I'd been able to try on the 4L for comparison. This was my favorite dress that I tried on.

Great fit, runs large I ended up wearing a size smaller than normal. Very comfortable.

I rented this dress through Unlimited. I needed a black dress for a charity gala I was attending. The dress itself was very pretty but far too small in the hips. I could not get the thing over my thighs and I am a very solid 4 right now. Part of me believes if the zipper went a little lower for me to get it up I may have been able to zip it. The dress is pretty otherwise. In any case it also would have been too short. I'm almost 5 foot 11 and I thought with the regular I would be able to get away with wearing sandals or flats instead of heels. If it had gotten up it would have been about an inch too short.

Rented this dress for a formal event, but was not able to wear it. It is very pretty, but the waist runs big compared to the rest of the dress, so the material hung loose at my midsection. I guess it would be a good dress if you prefer more space in the waist. The dress runs true to size and is clingy in the hips and legs.

This dress is absolutely beautiful and has the potential to be a breathtaking dress but for the fit. I am a size 6 and haven't had any problem with the fit of other RTR dresses, but this dress was different. The dress is definitely snug in the hips, which I could tell was a common problem as the lining was obviously resewn. However, the snug fit of the dress in the hips caused the dress to bunch on top and in various other areas on the dress, so the dress was not as flattering as it could have been. I would only recommend this dress if you have narrow hips with a larger bust.

I ordered this dress when my first choice didn't work. It was a very beautiful dress, loved the lace detailing but alas, this one didn't work for me either. It was too snug in the hip area. I normally wear a 10L anyway but was desperate so I thought I could squeeze into the 8L with spanx lol. No way! The fit was too narrow for such nonsense haha. I was ultimately sent a different dress that worked perfectly. I would love to try this style again in the correct size. Now all I need is an invitation to another formal event!

I ordered this dress but sadly was unable to wear it. I have larger hips than the average girl and I think this dress is more meant for a less curvy frame. The construction of this dress was absolutely gorgeous and I was so sad I couldn't see it on. I just wanted to let all you girls know that this dress is worth the try, but make sure you order up a size (or 2) if you have any curves.

Beautiful dress but sizing is a little odd as it runs large in waist/bust and small in hips/thighs. Normally I have problems fitting into dresses in my shoulders, but in this dress I had plenty of room there, but it was pretty tight in the hips. Recommend if have a larger bust and narrower hips. Length of dress at 5'10" with heels was good.

Beautiful dress, but so glad it was my back-up option. Even though I ended up wearing the same designer in the same size for my event, this dress was incredibly too small. I could barely zip it over my hips.
