I'm 5'3" and the 2R was a little long on me, even with my 4" heels

I rented this gown for a breast cancer awareness gala, which was a black tie event. When it arrived, I was frustrated by the length of the dress and how much room there was in the shoulders/neckline. I was able to use some double sided tape to correct the gap in the bust, and I used the top of control top pantyhose to smooth my midsection (I just had a baby 8 months ago so I needed some help!) but I had to cut them high because the slit in the front is so high! But the high slit saved me because it flawless separated when I walked (in 5" stilettos) so I didn't step on the dress. That type of tailoring and cut is what sets designer gowns apart! I received many compliments and I felt fantastic! The color of the dress is memorable.

This dress fit me like.a.glove. It is more magenta in real life than in the picture. I received complements all night long, and felt like a million bucks. I will say that I read the previous reviews to get this dress in long if you are 5'9 or taller. I am right under 5'9 but with my heels I thought I would need a long. I should have ordered a regular...I would say if you are my height and are wearing higher heels than I did (3 inches or higher) then you should probably get a long. I wore 2 inch heels though, and it was a little long, but nothing I couldn't handle. I didn't have to wear a bra with it either, which I loved. Just had to be a little careful when dancing of the sleeves slipping down on my shoulders.

I really loved this dress and got tons of compliments on it all night! I wore it to a formal wedding in NYC in November and it was perfect. Size-wise, the long is very long which is great for me because I have long legs and like to wear high heels and can usually never find dresses to rent that are long enough. The 2 fit mostly true to size, it was just a bit tight around the hips but not uncomfortable. It stayed up on my shoulders well despite the plunging neckline, and it was a bit loose around the bust but I have a VERY small bust so if you have a little more there you should be fine. The slit is not really visible when you walk, but when you sit is a bit high but not inappropriate at all. I would recommend just wearing pasties with this, since you can't wear anything that connects in the front or back because of the neckline (which is the same in the back), and brining wardrobe tape to keep it stuck to your chest and shoulders. The lace detail is beautiful and the color of this dress is show-stopping. Prepare to be noticed in this!

I actually received this dress as a replacement for a dress that did not fit! Was not disappointed! It felt and looked amazing. The color is an eye catcher. Could not wear a bra but still felt very supported. I am 5' 6"..wore 5'' heals and the dress still dragged. So long is great for some one tall. Perfect for a formal fall wedding!!

The top is big. I had to safety pin it to my bra to avoid malfunction! Hips are smaller so I don't think a smaller size would have worked. Color is gorgeous. Careful with the slit in front...it is long! Spanx will show when you sit if you don't watch it.

I have never felt so glamorous! I had my eye on this dress for months & read many reviews. I was hesitant because of all of the reviews saying the dress was too long. What I didn't read was that this dress has a "slit" up the front that makes walking, even with the dress a little on the ground, totally doable! I danced the night away and I'm so glad I decided to get the dress! I am 5'8", wore the 4L with 4" heels and the dress just barely dragged on the floor. I will say that the wedding I wore this too was at an indoor, very clean venue. I would not recommend it for outdoor events. The dress fit perfectly around my hips and mid section, and was a little loose in the shoulders ( the shoulder strap fell off a few times), but was super flattering! I received compliments all night and to quote my sister (pictured with me), "you look like a super hot modern princess model."

This dress is fitted through the hips, but felt a little large on me. I'm a size 28 in 7 for all mankind, and a size 6-8 in h&m bottoms. However I'm a size 4 on top. In any case, the 6 was fine, just a little roomier than I expected. I am a nursing mom, and this dress made that super easy. When I was done, I just added some fashion tape at the shoulders and bust, and was good to go for the rest of the night. The compliments did not stop all night! I would buy this dress if I could. :)

The dress fit like a glove and I felt amazing in it. The length was little on the long side, (I'm 5'4") so I just wore my highest heels and picked it up when I walked- it didn't seem to get in the way when I was dancing so it worked out fine. The event was a Gala to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes (JDRF). The dress fit well and was very pretty, but I felt for the occasion it showed too much chest for me to feel comfortable. I tried it on with 3 inch heels and it was probably close to a couple inches too long on me. What is nice is you can wear a regular bra with it depending on bra style.

I wouldn't have chosen this dress, but I was in the NY showroom and the girls suggested it. I wore this to the Grammys in LA and literally turned EVERY head. The color is amazing (a dark fuschia). The rear view is seriously flattering. The thigh slit is super sexy (and high, be forewarned). I didn't wear a bra and was fine. You may want to wear Spanx (the front is tight and flat); I got away without them but work high briefs. I sat for hours at the Grammy ceremony and the dress didn't wrinkle and hung well through the after part(ies). Highly recommend. The photos don't do it justice.

The color of this dress was so unique and beautiful. The fit was flawless.

What a great gown! I loved the bright pink color along with the great lace detail on the waist and skirt. This dress definitely ran a little small I highly recommend sizing up in backup especially because there is not stretch and the hips can run a little narrow. With a pair of 3-4 inch heels this dress will be the perfect length! I also loved that I could wear as standard bra.

Runs long - I'm 5'7" and wore 5" heels with this dress and the 4L was still skimming the ground. It's low cut but still holds things in place (I wore a bra for the first half of the night and took it off later, as I was uncomfortable). I was able to dance and have a good time without worrying about anything showing. Great dress!!

Pros: Slim, flattering fit. Gorgeous color. Comfortable. Things to consider: I am 5'10" and ordered a, 8L and 10L. Both fit, but were much too long. I had to hold the skirt up all night! I ended up wearing the 10L for the sake of having extra wiggle room. Even with the extra room, I still opted to go bra-less and panty-less to avoid very noticeable panty lines.

The dress is very long and has three layers at the bottom so it did not work to try and use hemming tape because the material was heavy and it did not hold with the tape. The dress however fit very nicely for my body type. It was still a little lose around the waist, I would hold the material around the waist for the pictures so I didn't look as big as the dress made me look. Over all the dress was flattering and I received many compliments through the night. The affair was more formal than what the dress looked. It is very understated so I dressed it up with the jewelry. I am 5'4 and wore 6' platform heels and the front of the dress was still dragging and I had to hold it up to walk so that I would not damage it or trip.

The dress could not have fit any better! The length and the style were absolutely perfect and the slit just added the tiny bit of "sexy" that the dress needed! Would wear this again in a heart beat!

I received this as a back up when the dress I did order was too short. It as beautiful and there is a high slit in the front that is very sexy. The lace on the skirt and black lace on the torso add great texture and interest while not being too "crazy." The reason I did not choose it is because it is VERY bright and a little big. The picture on the site makes it seem like a deep raspberry but I would almost say its a hot magenta.

The dress arrived promptly and was the perfect length and size. Hips were a tad snug and the top was cut too low to wear a bra but coverage was enough to still feel comfortable the entire evening. Would highly recommend, it was gorgeous.

This dress was GREAT. The fit was sexy yet comfortable and the regular was plenty long.

I wore this dress for a wedding in California. I was a couple weeks postpartum so needed something with a bit of give in the mid-section, and this fit the bill. I didn't really fill out the chest area, which resulted in some sagging and my being a but self conscious all night. So if you are smaller in the bust, know that you may have a bit of an issue there.

The dress was perfect, I rented the dress for a military ball. The length was just right with 4inch heels. It was a little large up top and the sleeves kept falling off of my shoulders the whole night, but overall it was very comfortable.

Got so many compliments on this dress, and I wished I could keep it! It is unusual and stands out, which is a nice change from the sea of black dresses at so many of these events. As far as fit goes...Like other reviewers have pointed out, it doesn't have any give. I wore spanx to help make sure that I was smoothed out, especially in the stomach. I got a few comments on the fact that the girls were out in this dress, especially when I was sitting, but I am a D, so I would think a C would not have a problem at all.

This dress was tight in the waist and bust area, which made it really revealing as far as cleavage was concerned. I got a lot of compliments, but felt a little exposed! I wouldn't recommend to a friend of the same size unless they were willing to play up the cleavage.

This dress was beautiful and I received compliments all night long. The color and cut are perfect, and it is very easy to wear a bra if needed. The neckline makes it just sexy enough without being too revealing. I do have to say that I think this dress runs large. I am 5'9" and 130lbs and a pretty typical size 4. I ordered the 4L after reading the size chart, and even with a 4 inch heel the dress dragged. I also thought it had some extra room in the hips. I would have loved to try on another size to compare, but none were available that weekend. It was worked fine, and was lots of fun to wear!!

Standard size 4 fit on the bottom and in the hips, but definitely runs large on top. Reviews said that I could wear a regular bra with it, but it turned out I couldn't. I had to go bra less and tape the dress to myself. I would recommend this more to someone with a long torso.

Definitely long. I'm 5'6" and I wore 3in heels. It does seem to run small, but I found out it stretched a lot over the course of the evening, so the small size was good.

It's a reallyyyyyy pretty dress, but I went for another one. Mainly because this was too pink for me, WAY too long and ran small.

I wanted to love this dress as it is undeniably beautiful, but I felt silly in it. The detailing is exquisite and the color was gorgeous, but it was so large on me, it looked goofy. It was also more formal than I expected. i think it could work for a formal wedding but it is a bit much for anything else. I ended up not being able to use it and went with another Bibhu Mohopatra dress that was a bit more casual.

Got lots of compliments but felt fit was tricky the 8 was a tad bit too tight / the 10 long was too long but too big up top

The color and cut of this dress is flawless. I don't think it can be work with a regular bra.
