Dress was tight enough to not wear a bra but not too tight where I couldn't dance. Seriously couldnt stop people from complimenting me and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to top this rental!

I read the other reviews and decided to rent the "long" because I planned on wearing platform wedges and didn't want my ankles showing! The length ended up working out perfectly. The dress was a little snug through the hips, but nothing sizing up wouldn't fix. The color is an interesting (and beautiful) mix between purple and grey. I got compliments all night and would highly recommend! Loved the embellishment details at the neckline and also the high neckline was very flattering. Lovelovelove.

I rented this for a wedding. I ended up going with a different dress because it didn't fit the location (Tuscany) but will definitely rent this for a gala or metro wedding. Fit perfectly. Hugged curves beautifully.

Thick enough material you don't need a bra

I rented this dress in 6p and 4p (several months in advance) for my daughter's wedding. 3 days prior to the event, I was notified the 6p was not available. 2 days prior, I was notified the 4P wouldn't arrive until the night before the event. I was very upset. When I spoke to a RTR manager about this, she helped me choose 3 other back up dresses, at no additional charge. RTR handled the situation well. Thankfully, the 4P fit perfect and I was able to wear my first choice. It was perfect.

Rented this for a Mardi Gras ball and received so many compliments! The dress was a bit long for me (even with heels) since I'm a shorty, but it was so comfortable and elegant and great to dance in. Best part: No bra needed!

This dress fit great and made me feel like I could walk the runway with the best of them! I am 5' 2" and typically a size 8. I ordered a petite 10 and it was a bit long. Possibly could've worn an 8 but this was my second pick and only ordered the one size. This one really fit great though and the fabric felt amazing. Compliments all night long!!

I wore this to a formal wedding and was able to wear the 4P. Typically my chest and hips have me into a 6 but this fit very comfortably. I was able to wear 3" heels with it, and could walk, sit, eat, and dance comfortably in it! I would absolutely rent it again.

I was so happy with the dress. With my body type being so curvy it's so hard to get a dress that fits me just right. It wasn't too tight and wasn't to loose. It showed just enough curve and still was very classy. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to rent this one again. It was a last minute dress because the one I really wanted was sold out. I rented this for a black tie wedding and it was perfect! It was absolutely dressy enough, comfortable to sit in, easy to dance in, and got so many compliments - I felt great! Because it is fitted around the midriff, I did wear spanx, but the material is think enough that a bra wasn't necessary. At 5'3" the petite length just skimmed the floor with flat sandals. The process was easy and the dress was in great shape - I will absolutely rent again!

I rented this dress for my sister for her senior prom. She normally wears a 0 or a 2 long and they only offered a 4 L. She was in love with it so we ordered the 4L in hopes we could make it work. It fit like a glove and looked amazing on her. The dress is a nice thick material but I would have to say unless you are pencil thin like her, this dress will probably require spanx! Also, recommend ordering 2 sizes larger than normal. She is 5'6 and wore heels so the long worked well. A regular length would have been too short.

This dress is not long. I am 5'8 and rented the 4L. You could still see my shoes. Would recommend sizing up, the dress was a bit tight. Got a lot of compliments i loved this dress.

Im 5'5 and was scared getting the petite but it was the perfect length even with heels! Very comfortable and easy to move in. Great material! If you are bigger chested this definitely works and will not need a bra!

Loved this dress. Compliments all night long I'm 5'4 and wear low heels so I probably should have gotten the petite, but it still worked. I didn't step on the gown at all, but it did just brush the floor. The material is moderately heavy so it drapes nicely and doesn't show every lump and bump. It also has a little bit of stretch to it. I wore a nu-bra with the dress. I think a standard strapless might show on the sides.

Wore this to a black tie wedding. Size was perfect and not too form fitting which I like. I didn't need spanx and was able to wear a strapless bra just fine. You can go bra less but I always like some extra padding. I actually received a non petite size in error and had to lift the hem with tape. RTR gave me a refund which was very generous! I can't wait to order my next dress.

I wore this dress as a bridesmaid in a gray/silver themed wedding party. It's absolutely beautiful in person and photographed well. Some notes on sizing: it fits true to size (like a glove) with a hint of stretch. Spanx made it even better but the fabric is very forgiving and you can wear a normal strapless bra. Length - I should have gotten the tall. I am 5'6.5" and it was too short in heels. If you are 5'6" or taller IN HEELS get the tall for sure!

So flattering for any body type. Extremely well constructed. I did order the petite I'm 5'3 and it fit perfectly with 3 to 4 inch heels. So the regular would have been too long

Loved this dress, everyone was raving about how amazing it was! I'm a little on the shorter side so even the petite was long, but it was manageable. I felt it was a little big on me, but again still nothing I was too concerned about. The details and color of the dress were amazing, I would definitely recommend it.

Got great compliments and everyone now wants to join Rent the Runway! Used this for a gala and it was perfect. Rented earrings too. Bought a simple pashmina to go with it. It was everything I expected and more!

This dress was elegant, flattering, and easy to wear. I'd definitely rent it again! I'm between 4 and 6. I ended up wearing the 6 with spanx. The embroidery is dramatic and intricate, allowing the dress to be stunning without revealing a ton of skin. The shape skims your body, not necessarily doing anything for problem areas, but not accentuating them either. The color is a gorgeous shade of bluish gray that I think would be flattering for any skin tone. The petite hit the perfect length with a pair of high heels.

They were unable to send the smaller size but luckily the 4P fit great. I am 5'2", 120lbs, and a 34B. This fit well, the length was dead on with about a 2 1/2-3 inch heel. The color was simple but distinctive enough to set myself aside from the masses of basic black. I found this gown to be very comfortable, and I personally did not have any issues with the decoration rubbing uncomfortably. I do recommend seamless panties and I was able to wear a strapless bra without issue.

I wore the 0P and it fit great...I'm 5"4" and so was a bit concerned that it might be a tad short, but it was perfect with the 3" heels I wore. It is a must to wear undies that are "no shows" as the material shows any lines, etc under it and I didn't wear a bra because of the racer back and halter straps, but by the end of the night, I had huge red marks on my collar bone because it was being pulled forward...I highly recommend finding a strapless bra that works underneath if you're busty! Otherwise was awesome. I got tons of compliments and my honey was in awe ;)

Beading was a little heavy so by the time I took of my dress my collarbones were actually a little red. Other than that the dress was super comfy and easy to dance in for a floor length gown. It fits great in all the right areas and has enough room to eat and move. The color is understated but unique. I felt confident in it all night and also got compliments from many guests!

True to size - and I'm in between, so was on the slightly big end. Overall a great dress for a Mardi Gras ball. Got tons of compliments and would wear it again!

As other reviews have said, if you have curvier hips the dress tends to feel a bit more snug around that section but it wasn't uncomfortable/overly tight. Recieved so many compliments all night. I think this dress would look great on any body type.

Dress was perfect! I'm pushing 6' and the L option was the way to go. Fabric is heavy enough to lay smooth on curves but not weigh you down. Beading detail does brush against your arms on the sides, I only wore this for a few hours at a ball so it didn't bother me. Fit true to size, would absolutely rent this again.

I rented this dress for my fiancee's corporate black tie Christmas party. He helped me pick it out and initially I was a bit concerned that it wasn't going to be formal/dress enough, but it turned out to be a great selection!! The fit was fantastic. as the fabric has a little stretch to fits your form perfectly & I received compliments all night. I wore it for 7 hours and wasn't dying to get it off, like I normally am after wearing a formal dress for that long :) I would definitely recommend renting this dress! Very comfortable, elegant & flattering and you will get plenty of compliments!

I wore this dress to a formal wedding in Texas at the beginning of December. I was 20 weeks pregnant and wanted a dress that made me feel sexy but also highlighted my bump and provided an element of comfort. This dress hit all those marks for me. I would normally wear a size 6-8 but the 10 P was the last petite size left in that range. It was a little big but the extra room was comfortable. The top was loose and I was able to wear a strapless bra but did have to lift the dress up a few times. The sequins under the arms rubbed a little but but that was a very minor complaint. I wore 2" heels and the length was spot on. I received compliments all night long and love how it made me feel and look. Definite winner! (height 5'4, 147# at the time)
