I wore this for my prom and honestly wanted to cry when I put this back in the bag and dropped it off at UPS. I don't think I've ever loved a dress more. It was so comfortable that I could have worn it in place of pajamas, and flexible enough that I danced in it for hours, with no problems. The fit was great, with the exception of a little extra room in the bust. I didn't quite fill it out enough but that was an issue only I seemed to notice. It went great with my 4" heels (which I was not wearing when I took this picture) as I didn't feel it was too high, nor did I ever trip over it. There are not enough praises for this dress. From both me and the people I saw that night. It totally earned this 5/5 rating.

Beautiful, flattering dress and very comfortable. The dress is long and there is a bit of a train, so I probably could have gone with higher heels. Be prepared to lift the skirt getting in and out of cars and going up and down stairs. Overall I was so pleased with this dress and with my RTR experience.

I was a bridesmaid for my friends' wedding in Vegas and received so many compliments. It fit great and was very comfortable. I wore Spanx and no bra. I would definitely rent this dress again!

About every three seconds I stepped on the hem wearing 2 1/2" heels and got stuck in the lace unless I was doing the debutante thing and holding the skirt up a little with my clutch hand. Good for a wedding because you can swish it around dancing, and good for a wedding with a big meal or even early in pregnancy because it is very forgiving in the belly area.....get boob tape if you need support though because there is zero structure

This dress is so unique with the lace layer! I loved wearing it! I am 5'7" and got the regular length. I wore 3" wedges, which was perfect - the dress was too long to wear flats, especially because it's a little longer in the back (which looks awesome). Wearing wedges worked really well also, since if the dress is too long for you and your heels, then a skinny heel could easily get caught in the lace if you stepped on it. Also, I have a very small chest, so I was afraid that would be a problem but it wasn't at all! I didn't wear a bra and wore "gel petals" instead, and it worked really well.

I was invited to a black tie wedding in March at the very last minute, so I naturally hit up rent the runway for a dress. 9/10 dresses that I wanted to order were unavailable at the last minute so I ended up with this one, and I'm so happy that I did. I had so many compliments throughout the night, which is always a great way to power through the night! Color: The color is definitely a deep midnight shade of blue versus the pretty gray blue that they show in the picture, but I knew this going into it due to other reviews. There is a silver thread in the fabric, but I still wore gold shoes and accessories and pulled it off fine. Fit: I am a 5'9" pear-shaped gal that falls between size 8 and 12 depending on fit. I ordered a size 8L and 10L because of the other reviewers saying that it runs big and I ended up wearing the 10L. I wore approximately 3 inch heels and the dress was almost a tad short but not an issue. I am an A-cup bra and the chest was perfect - I would've had it altered had I owned the dress because the darts were a little bit off, but I don't think anyone noticed except for me. I was able to wear a bra that was just covered by the crisscross back — not an issue. All in all the dress was very comfortable due to some minor stretch, fit well and a total stunner.

(Sorry for the less than stellar photo!) Fit: I am 5'5", 128 lbs. 26" waist, 36" bust, 37" hips and 32DD. It fit perfectly! The 4R (which I usually wear) was much too big, but the 2R was perfect. It wasn't too long either. The dress was incredibly comfortable. I didn't need a bra, which was really nice. Customer Service: The original dress I wanted was returned damaged and so this was one of my alternative choices. RTR staff was unbelievably helpful, sending me many dresses (even overnight!) to try on and make sure fit. I was shocked by the level of friendly assistance. Cons: None I can think of except that the dress is a bit more blue, as opposed to the greyish color online. The lace edge on the back of the dress did get snagged on my heel a few times in the night.

I got a ton of compliments on this dress. Even though I am 5'9", I knew I would be wearing lower heels (2 inches) so I went with the regular length and it was perfect. The color is a beautiful deep blue and stands out in a black tie setting.

Comfortable, great fitting and very easy to wear. It would be a perfect length with 2.5 inch heels or higher. I wore 1.5 inch and it was a tad too long.

I LOVED this dress!! I had originally ordered a different dress, but my backup size ended up not being available! I got an email as soon as they knew they wouldn't be able to send it and they allowed me to select this as my backup. This one ended up being the better fit, and I was VERY happy with it! I got so many compliments, and I was in love with the material! It has a silver thread in it to make it shine, it is even better in person than in the photos! Because of the emergency switch, the 4L was what they had to send me, which was understandable. If I wore it again, I would do a regular or short (depending on my shoe agenda), I did end up having to wear high shoes and it was still a tad long. It's also structured for a fuller bust, so if you're smaller be sure you have undergarments with some extra padding to fill it out! Overall, I was really happy with my experience, especially how accommodating they were for the emergency, and will definitely be using Rent the Runway for the future!!

I loved the dress it was perfect for prom! One thing to note is that the dress is actually all blue, which is not how it appears in the preview, also the dress runs a little long but nothing a pair of heels can't fix! But overall, the dress fit great and was especially fitted to my smaller torso.

The dress fit pretty well overall-- if you happen to be like me and fairly small chested, I'd recommend a strapless push-up bra to fill out the chest, otherwise it might look a little odd. The dress is really, really easy to move in, and it's incredibly comfortable (aka perfect for a night of dancing)! The fabric doesn't stretch though, so keep that in mind. Because I broke my foot and was stuck in a walking cast (my reason for picking a long dress was to cover the cast), I couldn't wear heels and as a result the dress did drag a little as I was walking around, but I did get it in a long so that wasn't a surprise (the regular would have been too short though). Even if I could have worn heels, they would have still needed to be low heels so that the hemline was still long enough. I absolutely loved this dress, and I got so many complements in it!

This is such a pretty dress. I wore it to a fundraiser gala and loved how the lace overlay flowed. It has a slight stretch and was very comfortable all night. If I were purchasing this dress, I would have had the straps shortened - the bodice was a little too long for my torso and it bunched a little in back. I used fashion tape to shorten the length as it was too long even with heels, but I am short and this is a common problem. I loved the dress and the rental process. I will definitely rent again.

The dress is more blue than black as you can see in the photo of me. The back of it was stunning with all of the criss-cross straps. The zipper does get held up a bit around the ribbon part of the waist so you will need someone to help you zip/unzip. The dress at a 6R hit the floor with no shoes, so I almost opted for flats but felt that for the event I needed heels, so only did a kitten heel. The lace overlay is beautiful but the back of it kept getting stuck in my heels so I needed to pick it up often when I walked, especially up and down stairs. I received many compliments on the gown and it was extremely comfortable to wear. I was able to wear a strapless bra with no issues of the back of it showing. One thing I was uncomfortable with at first was that under the lace overlay, the dress is sort of snug. I didn't like that it showed off my pear-shape, but I was reassured that the overlay hid any imperfections.

Dress fits true to size, if you are on the tall side (5'9 or more) long size is still to short. I wore flats in this and the length was perfect. Dress zipper bunches a bit in the back but isn't too noticeable. Was perfect for black tie wedding. Dress is definitely blue/navy, not gray as pictured on RTR

This dress was the perfect length for me. I was able to wear a 2 1/2" heel which was great! I was thankful to have ordered the backup size for comparison but didn't use it. The fit was very true to size. The dress is more blue in person which was very pretty. I was able to wear a regular strapless bra. The only downfall was the straps didn't stay in place on my shoulders so the back detailing was often bunching and I had to keep readjusting the straps which was a littl irritating. I did fill out the bust area so not sure how it would stay in place for smaller busted women. Overall though, I am very satisfied with my first RTR experience and will be using again

It wasn't as flattering as i would like on my body. However, i received a lot of compliments and it was perfect for the occassion.

This dress is gorgeous! As folks have mentioned, it is more of a blue tone, but there's almost a silvery sheen to it in certain lights. I love the fabric. There is the under-layer which is quite warm, and then the heavy lace on top. It fits comfortably and securely, though it did take a little coaxing to get the zipper over the middle seam. I'm a busty woman, but it was secure enough that I was comfortable dancing in just a strapless bra. I am about 5'3", and with four inch heels, I was safe in walking around - didn't trip on it! So the dress is quite long but doable. It does bunch just a little in the back, but nothing major.

The only negative is my heels got caught on the back lace.

This dress was perfect for a fall wedding in NYC. It is very flattering and glamorous. My only complaint is that it bunches a bit in the back, but it's not that noticeable. It was also a little long for me, and I could wear higher heels because they kept getting caught in the lace. That being said- I loved it and would highly recommend it! .

First, I waited too long before I decided to order, so the other two dresses I liked weren't available-order early! I have an hourglass/pear shape and 25 extra pounds of baby weight, so I'm about a 10/12 size right now. I ordered the 8L and 6L based on reviews. The 6 fit fine on my stomach and hips, but was way too tight on top. The 8 fit perfectly although someone with bigger than a B/C cup might be pushing it as this dress was not stretchy. I found the dress very pretty, but not super flattering for my current weight (although not much is). There is a bit of metallic shine, but I didn't find it overly distracting. The skirt has a lot of fabric and a bit of a train. I'm 5'8.5 and the front was the perfect length in front and a little long in back with 3" heels. Overall, I am very pleased with RTR and the condition and quality of the dresses. It's so easy and I will definitely order from them again!

Loved this dress fit comfortably the only negative was that the length of the dress would catch my heel in the back and the color is a navy blue through and through it doesn't have the nude effect in the photo as shown.

This dress was not my first pick but they sent me some back ups since my choice was not available. Amazing color, very comfortable. I am typically a 4 but the 2 fit like a glove. The dress was a little bit long for my 3 inch heels and the buckle of my heels kept getting caught in the lace at the bottom, that was annoying but it you plan ahead and wear a "sleeker" shoe there should be no issues! I wore a front sticky bra with this dress because you can not wear a regular one. Loved it.

Fit perfectly, and the color was a nice blue (unusual at a black tie). Doesn't show off a lot of skin, but is really tasteful.

First, the dress is all blue, bluer than in the picture, but beautiful. Straps a little loose in the back but nothing a little dress tape didn't fix (strapless bra totally hidden which was a plus). I'm usually between a 4 and a 6, both would have fit, but the smaller dress had less of a problem with the loose straps. Worn with 3" heels, it was a little long but not bad. I must say I struggled a little with the volume and mini-train in the back, but it was the right choice!

Wore this to prom! I didn't want to blend in with everyone else; it's all glitter, rhinestones, and bright colors there. This definitely stood out! It's a gorgeous dress, and also very comfortable. In person the lace looks dark blue, but in pictures it appears lighter. It would probably look best on someone with a long torso. I probably could have gone with a size 8, the torso was a bit big and there was an awkward spot where it puckered in the back. It didn't look the best for my body type, but it is a stunning dress.

This was my first choice for a formal photo shoot for my wedding anniversary. I was a little nervous that it would be too bright/shimmery based on some other reviews and photos, but I was pleased with the color--blue but deep enough that it still looked classy. I am usually either a definite 8 or a definite 10 in sizes and the 10 wasn't available for backup size so I was a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to zip it up in the back. I run heavier in the hips and belly and the 8 fit pretty perfectly without also looking like I was squeezing into the chest area, so if you're on the smaller side of a 10 and can still squeeze yourself into some 8s, I would recommend the 8. I do not have a bra on in the picture and also the back puckered a little bit, but it wasn't tight and don't think it would look weird if you were at an event and moving around/dancing, et. I ended up choosing my other backup dress style instead because it fit more of the style I was looking for in my photos, but I would consider renting this for another occasion for sure.

This dress does not look like it does in the model! I'm sorry I didn't have a picture in better lighting but it is actually a dark blue with a shimmery lace overlay. I wore 5 inch heels and the dress was still dragging. It kept getting caught under chairs, on my shoes, etc. However, I was extremely comfortable and it was a very appropriate dress for a work fundraiser. When I first tried it on I was extremely disappointed due to the variation in color from the picture and the weight of the material. I initially tried on the 8R but it was WAY too big so I went with the 6R. I was contemplating wearing another dress because this dress is extremely heavy for a spring event. But given how comfortable this dress is, I went with it!

I wore this to my very first military ball, on our very first base assignment. The lace details on this dress were gorgeous and the color was perfectly navy. It's hard for me to find formal dresses that work in length (I'm 5'4") and in the chest (I'm a 34DD), but this dress did just that. On top of all of that, it was unbelievabley comfortable! I received tons of compliments from the other spouses and girlfriends, especially on the cool back strap details. I would absolutely rent this again, perfect fit, perfect length, and perfect feel!

This dress is so pretty in person! I loved the color and the lace made it stand out in a crowd of dresses. The dress is also is very comfortable. I was worried that it would be too small on top but it worked out, though it did show a bit more cleavage than something I would normally pick out.

This dress is a beautiful shimmery navy lace and worked great for a romantic redwood forest wedding but it does run super long. If you are on the shorter end definitely try to get the petite size.

Beautiful dress . Not as dark as all pictures . Depends lighting . I loved the navy blue and lace ! Size 2 fit right but could have worn it . But ended wearing 4 due to chest size . More comfortable . Very long I am 5'1 so needed to make sure that I had high heels . The size 2 was perfect length but wore 4 . Overall beautiful dress

My husband and I went to the ballet with friends and decided to dress up for a change. The show was Romeo and Juliet and this seemed just the right choice, striking a perfect balance of formal and wearable. Several strangers approached me to offer compliments- that didn't suck. No uncomfortable undergarments required. I was able to wear an ordinary strapless bra and there was plenty of room from the ribs down. The length also worked out well with my 4" heels. The only drawback was that the lace did get caught on my shoes quite a few times. It would probably be better if the lining continued for the full length of the lace. If you are hourglass or pear shaped like me, I recommend going down a size.

This dress fit really well, I was nervous about the fit when ordering because my rib cage is really wide and even though I am a true 4 in pants, depending on where the zipper is for dresses I tend to have to go up size. This was my first time using rent the runway and I will definitely be using it in the future. I ordered a 4L and a 6R for backup but the 4R fit really great. The only down fall of the dress was that it's really long and my heels were getting stuck in my shoes the entire night. I'm 5'5 and had to wear heels with the regular length and was still stepping on the dress. Besides that though the dress was really comfortable and flattering!

Such a great dress, the fit was very flattering, but like other reviews - the dress definitely runs long! It runs pretty true to size, maybe a little large if you have narrow shoulders, so although the 4R fit on me, I decided to go with the 6R since it was more comfortable on my shoulders/back. There's a bit of a sparkle in it, but not overwhelmingly so. The material is actually a lot heavier and thicker than anticipated so it was a bit difficult to hold up since it was long. But overall, it was an amazing dress!

I'm short so renting a long gown is a gamble but this was perfect (I'm 5'2" and wore short heels maybe 3 inches max). It was super comfortable to dance in all night. The only downside was on stairs, my heels got caught in the lace overlay but I just held it up when going up and down stairs and I was fine. Maybe higher heels would help that.

Love the dress and length. You can even get away with wearing a regular bra, which I love. The dress flowed perfectly as I walked.

This dress is *gooooorgeous*. If you are going for something classically elegant, romantic, and a little sexy (think Princess Kate), this is your jam right here. It fit like it was made for me, flowed when I walked, and received tons of compliments all night. I ordered the 8 and the 10, and could have gone either way, but went with the 10 for a little more comfort in the chest area (I am large there). In a sea of sequins and dramatic cut-outs, this dress looked timeless and elegant. And that's how I felt all night, too. TOTALLY Princess Kate!
