This is a great dress. It hugs and shapes in all the right places, and works wonderfully for an hourglass figure. The diagonal cut on the neckline is probably the best attribute. Its attractive, yet still demure. Also, the ruching at the waist helps to enhance the silhouette. I received lots of compliments, the best being, "You look glamorous." I would definitely re-order this dress for a similar occasion.

Love this dress! As others have mentioned, it was difficult to keep the sleeves/cowl in place. My hubby straightened out the back for me, and that was a significant help. I think I could have worn a 12, this dress is very forgiving, but I ordered a 16 back-up and it was big everywhere. I am 5'9" and in 2 3/4" heels, the 14L perfectly skimmed my toes in front with just s slight train in the back. Very elegant.

This dress fit absolutely perfectly, and it was SO elegant! I was able to wear a regular bra and didn't even need spanks to smooth me out. I received compliments all night and truly did not want to take it off! Two things that we're a little annoying, but easily overlooked were the neckline does roll up throughout the night, so I was pulling it back into place a lot and it was extremely long. I just remedied that with a little fashion tape though, and it's drapey enough that you couldn't tell at all. Overall, loved it and would consider renting it again.

I ordered a size 14L and 16L. I'm a 38D and I weight 221 lbs. I was able to fit in the 14L. The only con was the sleeves. They wouldn't stay in place, but I still received compliments and I truly felt sexy In this dress. Also there were white marks on the dress. So I had it cleaned before I wore the dress.

This dress was PERFECT. It fit me like a glove and was so comfortable for an evening wedding (that lasted until dawn!) The dress is pretty long so I had to wear a high heel. The beauty of the dress is in its simplicity, and I was able to wear a pair of long gold earrings to complement the dark blue of the fabric. I felt glamorous and loved it!

The sash was an issue in the back. It kept flipping up. You'll need fashion tape to hold it in place.

I had a formal event and had tried a different dress that didn't work. RTR was wonderful and sent me this in a 6 and an 8, and I wore the 6. Seriously, I can't rave about their customer service enough. Anyway, I was kind of panicked because it was last minute and my other RTR dress wasn't working, and they recommended this one. I have narrow hips and gain weight around my middle, so normally figure-hugging things make me look lumpy. I was incredulous when she suggested a jersey knit (notorious for cling), but they didn't have my size in the other dress I wanted, so I took a chance on it. GREAT move. The ruching hides imperfections well, and the neckline is versatile - you can play around with it and drape it in several striking ways. All of that to say, it was a gorgeous dress and I got compliments all night long!

I was informed the day before being shipped out that the original dress that I ordered for my son's wedding had been damaged by the previous renter. I was very disappointed and now my stress level was on high due to the fact that the wedding was in 2 days. The Stylists were so accommodating and truly wanted to see me happy!! They immediately shipped out 4 new dresses for me to try, along with matching accessories. I was highly impressed by the way they were working with me in regards to a placement dress. This Dress was beautiful although only the long was available, and it was about 4" too long (nothing a little hem tape couldn't correct!!) I received so many compliments on how Glamorous I looked. This dress fits true to size and is perfect for bigger busted women. Also it is very forgiving if you are a little heavier in the mid section. I did add a crystal brooch where the asymmetrical neckline me the front shoulder. This made the dress even more spectacular!! I am so impressed with the professionalism and concern to make me happy that I will definitely will be renting from them again!!! Thank you for all you did!!!

The dress was very comfortable, I wore the "R" length and it was a little too long, My only complaint is that the sleeves keep riding up, the beauty of the dress is in the sleeves!

There were NO con's to this dress...besides the fact that I thought it was black and not blue (nonetheless...) it was SENSATIONAL!!!

Dress was fabulous. Light weight with a nice lining. I usually order a 4L (I am 5'8) but the 4L and 2L were much too long, even with 3 inch heels. Rent the Runway instantly sent me the 2R and 4R which were here by 2pm the next day...in plenty of time for my event! Thank you!!!! 4R - Perfect fit, so comfy and the ruching across the mid section makes it very forgiving...had a great night, tons of compliments! This is my 6th rental and they impress me EVERY TIME!!

Wore it for 8+ hours and felt comfortable the entire time - received many compliments on the dress and the neckline. I would rent it again. I wear a size 8 or 10 and the 8 fit better - more flattering,

The dress is nice and was relatively flattering. The back is slightly longer - like a mini train almost - so I had to be careful that I didn't get caught up in it while walking. Overall it was comfortable - the material is a little stretchy. Others wrote about the top if the dress not stating in place - and that was the biggest issue. Every time you move the top of the dress moves. I'd imagine some strategically placed tape might help.

The dress was great. Even though I could have probably worn a larger size (I didn't receive it due to damage) I loved the way this one fit. It hugged all the right curves. The material has a wonderful weight to it that really made it lay nice. I would suggest that I you are tall like me...5'10" and plan on wearing heels, I would definitely get the long. Mine was a bit short in the front but i think if I wore the larger size it would have been perfect. Overall, I am very pleased with my experience and I will definitely Rent The Runway again!!

Dress is a little longer in the back, but length was perfect - the front skimmed the floor and I wore about 4" heels.

I received many compliments on this dress. It isn't very flashy, but it is flattering and was comfortable for the whole event. This was a backup dress a stylist helped me find after my first dress didn't work. The website was having trouble showing me what was available, and the stylist was super helpful and spent a half hour helping me find a few options. I would have liked to try the 16L to see if it would have been longer, the dress was just a little too short. The straps were also a little tight around my shoulders. As others has mentioned it is definitely midnight blue, not black.

The fabric has a good weight to it. Looking at the picture online, it definitely looks black, but it sure is navy! Wear with a strapless bra as the neckline on the dress will move. Excellent backup!

This dress was selected for me by an RTR stylist as a replacement when my order could not be fulfilled at the last minute. While somewhat underwhelming to me when compared with my original choice(s), it is simple, elegant and entirely appropriate for a black tie wedding. The cap sleeve on the left gives the neckline some interest and distinction. The weight of the fabric is enough to feel substantial and hang nicely while being completely comfortable. The ruched waist and subtle trumpet cut to the skirt give it a really flattering, sexy shape without being too obvious. I was also able to wear a regular bra! Two potentially important notes: The color is definitely NAVY but it is quite a dark shade. Personally, I'd avoid navy and black accessories because it will likely mismatch but so nearly that it might look like you didn't realize it--I went with the shimmery nude clutch, silver and emerald accessories I'd planned for my other dress and I think they went very well. Also, be forewarned that the rest of the neckline is a bit awkward. I wore the 4L and the dress fit perfectly (even with a little room to spare) but the other shoulder was definitely a bit snug to pull across as it is shown in the model photos and it does not stay in place given normal activity. I would argue that this part of the dress is disproportionate to the rest of it. I'm neither model thin nor especially broad shouldered but I am 5'10" and I wore 4" heels with this dress and I just don't know too many women around the 6' mark whose shoulders will be narrow enough for it to fit as pictured--not a deal breaker but worth mentioning.

I wore this to a high school dance performance that I co-directed. It was form fitting enough to feel sexy, but not enough to be inappropriate. I felt classy and elegant. The color is dark navy which I love!The only issue was the shoulder/sleeve thing was kind of weird. I had to pin it in the back to make sure it stayed in place. I was so pleased with my first RTR experience. I have already ordered again!!

It was a snug fit, though the fabric was comfy and the look very flattering. I felt so comfy all night long (and it was a long night). I loved the simplicity of this dress...it allows you accessorize as you like and create your own look.

The sleeves are a little tough to keep down over your shoulders, and then you can't lift your arms that well. I had my friend pull them down far for pictures and toast but then spent the rest of the night with the cowl neck look. Easy, flattering style, super comfortable (with the exception of the sleeve part, if you like that).

I wore this gown to a formal event at the Library of Congress. This was the perfect, sophisticated, elegant gown. I added sparkly Ben Amun earrings to dress it up. That was all it needed. I wore the size 8- so great to get into the smaller size after lots of recent workouts... The 10 was too big- I could tell because the rusching and zipper did not lay flat. The 8 lay perfectly. It was a little long, even in heels, but I managed. I highly recommend this gown!!

I am very short and this made me look like a classy adult. The color is actually a very dark blue and not black as it appears. This was my back up for the year before and I came back to it.

I wore this dress for a conservative gala. It is hard to tell from the pictures, but the color is dark navy blue, not black. The dress is extremely comfortable and the subtle rouching is very flattering. As other reviewers have mentioned, the sleeves are a bit tricky to keep in place. I loved the long length that was perfect for 4 inch heels.

Aside from the left shoulder falling down a lot I loved how I looked & how I could run around like a crazy person (I was chairing a gala) and had no issues whatsoever.

It's so hard to find decently modest dresses and this one exceeded my expectations. Wayyyy more pretty in person and suitable for any age. I wore it to prom and totally made my night!

It is rare to find a dress for a black tie event that is super comfortable and easy to wear. This dress is it! Wore it through cocktails, asit down dinner and auction, dancing and after party. Never once had to adjust it into place. and could have worn it longer. Loved the blue as it was dark enough to be formal but still complemented my skin tone. I was able to wear a regular bra with the dress. Had so many people stopping me and complementing me on the dress.

I'm 5'9, with a 36HH chest, and this dress fit me perfectly!! I was crossing my fingers that it fit across my chest, and it did! It was for a black tie wedding in NYC (uber fancy), and the navy is dark enough to make it fancy without being cookie cutter. I also wore 4 inch heels with it, and it was still a little long... but, I think it's meant to have a tiny train in the back which could be the problem. My only complaint was how hot I was in it. The fabric is amazing, and it is completely lined to avoid any see through issues. But it was a 'heavy' dress if that makes sense. I was complimented all night on how beautiful I looked in this, so I will definitely be ordering more Badgley in the future!

I wore this dress to a military graduation and got the dress 3 days before the event. I tried it on after a 12hr work shift and was amazed how great it looked! It was even better once I got all dressed up for the event! I'm tall and was worried it wouldn't be long enough, but it was still touching the ground with 3-4in heels-perfect! The neckline is very flattering. Dress has some stretch and was easy to stand/sit in. Simple, elegant dark navy color but I wore with the earrings modeled which were a great match. This was my first RTR dress and I was so happy It all worked out! Got so many compliments. Would definitely wear this again!!

Normally an 8-10 but the store only had a 12. I think I could have worn a 10 no problem. The fabric is really stretchy so it's very flattering, even on curvy women. And you can adjust the shoulders so that its off both or one or none (as pictured). Super flattering dress.

The long is very long. At 5'7 you would need about 5" heels.

The dress is beautiful-curve hugging and flattering. Sexy in a less obvious way than a lower cut style. However, it does lose a lot in photos. Also, be sure to note that it is navy, not black.
