This dress is absolutely stunning. I felt gorgeous in the dress and received many compliments. The photo does not do the color justice, it is a rich purple with grey undertones. The dress was a bit snug in the hips but the ruffle detail hid any pulling of the fabric. I might have ordered a shorter length but the dress was not too long, just a personal preference.

Beautiful color, looks more navy blue during the night. I usually wear a size 4, but the 6 gave me a little more breathing space. I wore it for a graduate prom, and it was the perfect dress! I had 4" heels on, but it was really hard to avoid people stepping on the train! Definitely coming back to rent more. Thanks, RTR!

Auto Show Charity is an annual event from me, but this was the best dress I have worn to any event! High quality, sophisticated, elegant, head turning dress. Fit was a touch too big in top for my typical size and one size lower was snug (I wore it snug) since there is little stretch in the fabric. Length was perfect and smokey blue sheen in fabric photographed so well. Women whispered behind my back when I passed by...spectacular dress and stunning dress were the main themes. I can't say enough this dress is a serious show stopper.

This dress was very elegant. We received a lot of complements! The only difficulty with the dress is that it's extremely tight around the thighs. You will not be able to walk fast. The dress was long on me. We order a 0 regular since I am petite, we had to hem tape the front about 5”. This dress was worth it!

On the website the dress looks grey, but in person it is actually a gorgeous deep charcoal blue. It was a stunning dress. The only difficulty with the dress is that it's extremely tight around the thighs, so walking was at a stately, leisurely pace, and I had to go up stairs diagonally. But I don't mind sacrificing a bit of comfort for such beauty! Definitely a stunner for that red carpet look!

I don't have anything bad to say about this dress! This was my first RTR experience and this was the ONLY dress I wanted to rent. I was terrified it wouldn't fit and there were no back up sizes available at the time I needed them but I took a chance and only rented the size I thought I needed and was overjoyed when it fit like a glove! It was very comfortable in the top (I'm a 32D) and with 3-4 inch heels (I'm about 5'5") it just grazed the floor. I couldn't zip it all the way up myself but my date had no trouble finishing the zipping for me. I felt amazing and was dressed just right for the military ball I attended. My date couldn't stop commenting about everyone looking at me and my friends all loved the pictures. It was wonderful!

The dress was long on me but that is because I am normally a petite. Even with heels on we had to hem tape the front. I also wore the 2R instead of the 0R which made the top slightly bigger than I would have liked but nothing too bad. However even with the size issues I loved this dress. It is so pretty and elegant. The only advice I would give is don't wear it to a dance because it is easy to get stepped on. Overall, this dress was exactly what I wanted and I would wear it again!

The dress was as amazing as the photo, rented for my daughter, she is 63" and about 145 pounds with a full bust. The size 4R fit her amazingly. She said it was comfortable and she had no issues.

I wore this gown to a black tie gala where there was a sea of black gowns. The color and style of this dress were totally different from everything else there. I felt elegant and classy while still feeling fresh and fun. I received a ton of compliments during the evening! I've recently gained some weight and was concerned about how I'd look in the dress. I was shocked how slimming this style was. I'd rent this dress again in a heartbeat!!!

WOW! YES! What a beautiful dress! Great color, great fit, great for walking the red carpet, and dancing. Very comfortable sitting also, though I didn't wan to to sit at all, I wanted to walk/stand the entire event and dance all night! Long dress, so I wore very high heals to keep it off the ground. The train is super cute, be careful with the stairs! (#MumBall 2014)

I wore this dress and necklace to my school's "Eyeball" event, with the theme of "Golden Globes". Phenomenal dress. Fit to a T. It felt like it was made for me. However, I thought it was a LITTLE short to wear with heels. I'm 5'5" and ordered a 2R and it did not reach the ground when I had heels on. When I changed to flats, it was perfect. I was worried at first about it fitting because I only received one size (my backup size didn't come), but the zipper wasn't the best, so that's why it didn't zip at first. That took a lot of effort. After I got past that though, it was amazing. I didn't have to keep pulling it up or anything to stay on. There was a piece of wire that kept poking me all night, which was annoying, but I didn't care. I mentioned that I wanted my future bridesmaids to wear this dress because I felt amazing in it and it was perfect. I wish I could keep it (and the necklace, that thing was GORGEOUS and got a TON of compliments!)

The fit is perfect. The actual color of the dress is more on the bluish side than purple, even though it comes out very purple in pictures. Also, people WILL be stepping on the back of your dress all night, but it's beautiful and pretty worth it. I got compliments all night.

I had difficult time with the zipper, but it all came together! It's also a great dress that can be worn with any heels. Many long dresses get snagged on shoes- not this one!!

The fit was great! If you are a little in the busty side, I would opt for a bigger size as this dress was slightly snug in the chest area. I would rent this dress again!

This dress is snug in the hips but is flattering all over. I was worried it would be too long but it was perfect. The top fit snugly so didn't have to worry about it slipping down. The color is a royal blue and the back design is gorgeous! If you are considering this dress, you will not be disappointed!

This dress was a show stopper! I had so many compliments throughout the night. Fit is true to size. I wore 4" heels.

I usually wear a size 10. They didnt have a 10, so I ordered the 8L and 12R. I ended up wearing the 12R because there was something wrong with the zipper of the 8. The length was perfect, since Im 5'7, I wore a pretty short heel. Maybe an inch. The dress fit really well, though. My ring was broken when I got it, so I didnt get to wear it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this dress!!

It fit like a glove, it was however very long so make sure you wear heels. It was beautiful, and made me feel like a princess.

I love Love LOOOVE this dress & so did my fiance. I was worried about it being my first RTR order - what size? what length? but it all worked out. Was worried about the color because on the model under bright lights it looks silver/lavender. All the uploaded pix were a deeper purple, sometimes blue. Doesn't matter, depending on the lighting it looked different but still looked good! Can't wait to use RTR again (there were actually a lot of RTR returns yesterday @ the 49ers HQ and deliveries last week)! My only complaint was the piping in the bust poked through the material which was uncomfortable & painful at times. I saw/noticed this before I even tried it on. I contacted customer service & they offered to overnight another dress, unfortunately my address does not accept Saturday delivery. I was compensated in other ways, thank you Christina!

The boning in this dress makes the bodice stand up perfectly!! The ruffle hides any worries about tummy (which meant I could eat!!) and the fabric had a beautiful sheen. The color is a beautiful gray- blue that looks a bit purple in certain light. I wore it to a military function (obviously) and received so many compliments!! I will rent this one again if I have another event!!

The drama of this dress stole the show! It is so incredibly unique that no other dress could compare. It is more dark blue than slate blue as seen in the RTR picture. You may need a statement piece of jewelry because the back of the dress really draws the attention. Lastly, the front ruffle acts as a peplum and hides anything you don't want people to notice in a tight dress! PSA: This dress does not stretch!!

The dress was beautiful! I received many compliments on it and I felt great wearing it :) The cons about it was that it was too long for me and not snug enough at the top (I'm 5'4" - 110.lbs.), however, being that I am petite and this dress does not run in petite I just had to work with what I had. I thought that high heels would help but they didn't make much of a difference so I tucked in a few inches at the top with a few safety pins and it worked just fine. It is a very elegant dress and trust, you will feel fabulous in it. I will definitely be renting from RTR again in the near future!

The fit was perfect! the color was perfect! the length was perfect (with 4 inch heels)! I ca't say how fabulous this was! My ordering experience was EASY! my dress came SO QUICKLY! Words cannot describe how much I loved this dress!!! I'm 5'6" and the 6R was the perfect length when I added 3inch heels. I wore this to a formal black tie wedding (the boyfriend was in a tux). As soon as we got there the photographer stopped me to take a picture on complimented me on the dress which definitely became a trend of the evening. Even the bride told me she loved it! I felt like an absolute princess all night... I think another review on here said the same thing and I agree! I would definitely recommend this one!!!!

this dress was a little too big for me in the top, but fit just right in the bottom. If I owned this dress, I would have it taken in from the waist peplum up, but it worked just fine for the Gala to which I wore it. I loved this gown- it was fabulous. The color was different from anything else I saw, and the train added a bit of glamour that just put this dress over the mark. I wore the 4L, and it was the perfect length for me in my little platform sandals with high (3 to 4" heels).

This dress was PERFECT in every way! The color is beautiful and the back of this dress was just gorgeous. I received SO many compliments and would rent it again in a heartbeat! I am 5'4" and the regular was just the littlest bit long, but the heals I wore helped. I ordered the 8R as well (that is my truer size) but I felt more comfortable in the 10. I also did not need to wear a strapless bra which was great!

I wore this dress to host an event for The University of Tennessee and it was amazing! Everyone kept asking me where I got my dress. It fits beautifully and the color is gorgeous. It is a little darker than the picture, but it still looked great! The only negative thing I would have to say is that it runs a little small and it was listed as true to size. I normally wear a 4 so I got a 4 and a 6, and the 6 was tight, but still fitting. Beautiful dress though! I would recommend it to anyone!

Great color and shape

I am 5'5" and 135 lbs. Size 6R was perfect with 4 inch heels. Rented the Maple Leaf necklace which was perfect accessory. Very formal so perfect for a night time wedding or gala.

The dress was gorgeous, a shade darker than a navy blue. reg. 2 fits me the best but they ran out so I have to rent reg. 4 and long 2. Caution! The dress is long in general!!! I held my pageant in this dress and climbing up the stage and seat podium is painstaking. My heel was 4.5 inch long and I had to rehearse with my escort by walking up and down the stairs for 30 minutes. Overall, this dress is exquisite and glamorous.

Absolutely loved this dress when I saw it online, thought it would be a perfect classy gown to wear for all of the Oscars festivities. It fit me like a glove. I'm a 34c-24-34 and was a little worried about the fit of the top as I am athletic and sometimes a size 0 can be hard to zip as my shoulders are a little broad and I do have a C cup, but it fit perfectly! I am 5'5" and wore roughly 5 inch platform heels and the dress was the perfect length. If you want a classy look that turns heads and gets compliments this is a great choice!

Dress fit perfectly. Snug at the top as to not fall down. Well constructed zipper. Dress had minimal wrinkling after sitting for some time. Dress was lightweight even though fabric was very sturdy. The color of the dress on RTR website is misleading. The dress is more of dark slate blue and not grey blue. Allow time to iron the dress yourself upon arrival. It took about 1/2 hour to get it smooth as it was not ready to wear, but once it was ironed it had very little wrinkling as I mentioned above. Wish I had another occasion to wear it to. It is definitely a re-rent! I love Rent the Runway! I am also wearing Crystal Petals Necklace, Regal Affair Ring and Classic Lady Earrings. All from RTR. Magnificent!

The fit was perfect. I was snug and comfortable. It was a little longer than I wanted, but hey I'm really petite so it's understandable. I used some dress tape to fix the length problem. The dress was so regal, elegant and flattering. I truly felt amazing and the color complimented my tan skin. I would definitely recommend wearing this dress for a special occasion. You will be a show stopper for sure. Everyone will love you and ask where you got your dress. Don't forget to say Rent The Runway ;-)

This dress was perfect for my work holiday party!!! Both the 4R and the 6R fit, but the 6R was just a bit too loose so I opted for the 4R. I will say it runs long! I rocked 5" heels and still had a few stepping on the front troubles. The color varies on lighting. In day lighting it was more of a periwinkle, but at night in the dark lights it was almost purple. Overall, amazing dress!

I didn't actually wear this to my event (picture was taken as I was "modeling" for my husband). It is very pretty and I love the ruffles down the back. The color is a steely purple (I thought it would be grey). I had very little room in the hips and bust, just barely enough room for a strapless bra and there isn't any give in the fabric, so order accordingly. The regular was too short for me and would have only allowed for a 1.5-2" heel. Overall, it's beautiful and seemed relatively comfortable, but if you're tall then definitely get the long.

I wore this dress to the Emmys, and loved it! The dress is actually a midnight blue, not at all purple like the picture displays. Fortunately the blue was gorgeous and complimented my skin color. I would definitely recommend choosing one or two sizes up if your bust size is a C or higher; the fabric is not very flexible. I'm usually a size 2, but even in the size 4 the bust was too tight. It looked great on, but I had a hard time breathing when sitting down, which was a new experience for me!

The hip area was snug. That is the only thing which keeps me from rating this 5 stars. I rented the 4R and the 6R and wore the 6R. It is difficult to use the restroom since it was tight on the hips, so make sure you have little help, or get a bigger size than what you normally wear. The bust area was perfectly snug with a strapless bra. This dress was just so amazing, and I felt so gorgeous all night. The color was nice purple, and no one had the same color. I wore it with the Take the Throne necklace by Slate and Willow accessories from rent the runway too.
