Wore this dress to a wedding at a historic landmark venue. Stunningly simple, beautiful beading and draping, comfortable and not too revealing. Definitely needed spanx to smooth things out, and wore a nude 2" wedge heel. This dress made me feel as special as the event. Received compliments all night. Thank you RTR

This dress fit great and was super comfortable. I think I would have gone with the long instead of the regular length (I ended up wearing 4 inch heels). It was otherwise effortless, comfortable, and everyone loved it!

This dress was the perfect fit. While I could've worn the 6L, I felt more comfortable in the 8. It draped in all the right places. It was perfect for a masquerade ball that we attended. The beading is simply divine! I felt gorgeous all night long and was hands down the best dressed in a part with 300+ in attendance.

I was one of eight bridesmaids for an October wedding, vintage themed. The custom dresses arrived 2 weeks out and they simply missed the mark. We collectively decided to hit the stores on our own for long, grey gowns of our choosing. I immediately hit up RTR and found this beauty. I had several "back-ups" that I purchased from the store, but none came close to this truly elegant dress. The details: I'm 5'10, 160. Long waisted, full booty. I wear between a 6 and an 8, more often an 8. I ordered the 8L and it fit perfectly. It was very long (i.e. I wore 3 in heels, and the front of the gown grazed the ground, the back trailed ever so slightly). I personally love a long dress, so it was a hit for me. It was very chilly (low 50's), but the dress is lined with a thick underlayer, so I was suprsingly warm under the circumstances (and no spanx required). A standard strapless bra fit underneath just fine, no hollywood tape required. It's a bit stretchy and forgiving as needed, especially around the middle section. Truly, it was a no muss, no fuss dress that wowed. I would opt for dropped earrings and a bracelet - the embellishments at the shoulder competed with every necklace I tried on. We danced a fair amount and the dress performed beautifully. I am super pleased with the rental (and now - no sad bridesmaid's dress in my closet that I paid $200+ for hanging in my closet until 2018!)

I loved wearing this dress. It's elegant, classic, and comfortable. I wore medium-coverage Spanx (as opposed to the really tight ones) and overall that worked well. I got lots of compliments, and I think I may have even inspired a couple ladies to try out Rent the Runway!

This dress made my night. It was a little long, but only because I wore Dolce Vita suede wedges that were only about 2' because I knew I was going to be on my feet all day and wanted them to be hidden. If you can stand it, I would recommend taller shoes. The detailing on the dress is lovely (although my rental was missing one rhinestone- you couldn't tell), so much so, I didn't wear jewelry so as to not to detract from the cut and embellishments. It was 102 degrees outside when we walked the red carpet, but the dress is double-lined and was surprisingly cool. The fabric draped perfectly and kept looking lovely well into the midnight hour. I was worried about this dress looking too mature, but honestly, it was classic, elegant and the right amount of sophisticated.

People said that as I walked down the aisle that they wished every bride would let them rent dresses like this from RTR! It fit perfectly and as you can see went really well with the bride's dress and look of the whole wedding. Wore Spanx under as others have mentioned. The best part is I don't have a hideous taffeta bridesmaid dress hanging in my closet now!

I selected this dress for an outdoor Seattle, on the lake, evening wedding. It was absolutely perfect and I got tons of compliments. It was comfortable and fit beautifully. I loved that it was double lined. I did wear Spanks, as recommended, and about a 2.5 black heel. It was a unique dress and I felt elegant! The picture on the website made the dress look a bit taupe colored but it was not - it was a true steel grey. It was hard to put it back in the mail to RTR!

Flattering draping on the top. Very comfortable fabric, able to dance all night. Perfect length with 3" heals.

I'm 5'6" with 4" heels and 2L fits me perfectly. The dress feels really comfortable even after wearing it for almost 10 hours. I got compliments all night. Highly recommended.

4 months pregnant so none of my dresses fit my belly and finding something to wear is a challenge. Fortunately the stylists at RtR recommended this dress as a belly-friendly formal option and it was great. I wore it with spanx to smooth me out a bit but otherwise it was perfect, and a fine length for me with 3" heels.

A little snug around hips and shoulders but hangs very elegantly.

I rented this for a Mardi Gras ball, and it was absolutely beautiful. It went great with my skin tone (tan), and fit well enough that I didn't need to use any sort of tape or any pins to make things stay in place. It was comfortable to dance in, and draped really well. It was a tad long for me in 3" heels, so in the future I would probably get the petite size if they offer it. I recommend this dress for comfort and style.

The jersey knit and ruching make this dress comfortable. Add a stick-on bra (with a little tape for safety), and you are set. The dress was a tiny bit long for me, but it was great with higher heels.

I rented this for a wedding, but my first choice size was not returned by the previous renter in unusable condition. I was so upset. The 8 almost fit but didn't look quite right. I ended up wearing my backup dress to the wedding, but will want to rent this dress again in the future. I did notice the zipper poking out somewhat on the butt as some of the other reviews mentioned. It wasn't enough to discourage me from wanting to rent the dress again for another occasion but worth noting in case that bothers you.

The fit is excellent and the dress is so comfortable. I got so many compliments all night and it felt like a dream even after many many hours. The detail work is gorgeous and the draping is unique. It fit me perfectly at a 10L and I usually wear 10, but if you're concerned at all about it fitting snuggly in the hips/butt, you might backup size up. This is my favorite dress I've ever worn to a black tie.

i felt great in this dress. very comfortable fit. i would advise against shapers with ribbing. my corset showed a bit. other than that, it's a lovely dress. i wish i had a photo to share.

This was a very easy, comfortable dress. I didn't wear a bra, but was never worried about the girls (32/34 B) popping out (even though I'm a maniac on the dance floor). I'm 5'3'' and didn't have to use hem tape on the dress with heels. It wasn't tight and the draping in the front was just enough to be very flattering and make me feel skinny and sexy without being constricted. Can't say enough about how happy I was with this choice. Still a conservative color without being black. Just enough embellishment on the shoulders to be glam but not overly done or fussy. Revealing enough to be sexy but not too much to be inappropriate for work.

Great fit and length in long.

I am hourglass and athletic. This showed off chest, arms, and shoulders. Great flow and hugged in all the right places. Spanx are definitely recommened for a polished look. I was complimented all night long.

The offset beaded detailing on this dress is beautiful and unusual. It hangs beautifully and the draping is forgiving on the midsection. I wore spanks since the rear is not so forgiving! The beading allowed me to wear gold jewelry and gold heels, which was a plus for me. I received many compliments and would defiinitley recommned this dress.

This dress was the winner. Not only did I look great, but it was so comfortable as well, a complete package in my book. It was perfect for the wedding I went to, and had gotten compliments on it the whole night. Just my style - maximum impact with a "less is more" attitude.

I wore this dress as a bridesmaid in one of my best friend's weddings. The dress was incredibly comfortable. The only issue was with the draping which wasn't entirely flattering. It seemed to add bulk, especially if you have a larger chest.

This was a beautiful dress that I got as a backup (didn't wear it because it was a bit too fancy for the occasion). I am usually a size 4, but easily fit the size 2 in this dress because the fabric is stretchy and cut at a bias. It wasn't tight though; the fabric is thick and has a lot of give. I was planning to wear flats, but tall girls (I'm 6') can easily wear heels in this dress and it will still brush the floor :)

The dress was beautiful, however the side with the skinny strip was too big and had to be pinned up. The dress was slightly long but not too bad, however the seam of the lining and the seam of the dress didn't line up so there was always a little ripple on the side. Overall, not bad but had I actually spent $800 on it, I would have been disappointed.

I wish I was a few inches taller for this dress. I had rented this as my second pick for my step sisters wedding but unfortunately I could not wear it for two reasons. 1. the wedding colors turned to out to be navy blue and gray as well and I didnt want to look like a groupie and 2. it was much too long for me (I'm only 5'1"). Pros (it I was taller): It hugs your curves like no other The material is thicker and rich looking The details on the top looked great It you are at least 5'3" or 5'4", like to accentuate your curves - it will look great

This would have been perfect had it come in my size. It was big on me but I wore it anyway because it was a pretty dress.

This dress is beautiful and I really wanted it to be the perfect one for my event. Fit wise everything was perfect and the length was okay with 4 inch heels. The issues were that multiple beads were missing when the dress arrived - not too much of a big deal except that an actual entire string of beading was hanging off the right shoulder of the dress. I would have been more than happy to wear it with some missing beads but I was shocked that a seamstress from RTR hadn't given it the once over to make sure that everything was reasonably secure. The biggest problem with this dress for me though was that the zipper stuck out at the bottom in the back (it looked like a duck's tail for lack of a better description). I don't know if this would happen on everyone or even if it would be a problem with other sizes/models of this dress but it was a deal breaker for me and I ended up wearing the backup dress I had ordered.

not the dress's fault, but i rented a regular to wear with flats. however, the dress i think only looks good if it goes to the floor. somehow it made me look short and kind of dumpy. i have a long torso and a well-defined waist. quality was good.

I ordered this dress as a backup for a Mardi Gras Ball I attended in February. My first choice did not fit so I ended up wearing this one. The material is soft, and thick. The draping in the front is pretty, and will hide a tummy pooch if you have one. The beaded detailing at the shoulders is gorgeous. My skin did get a little irritated directly under where the beading was, so ladies with sensitive skin be aware.

I ordered the Long because I was told that the dress runs long---didn't even touch the top of my feet!

The dress is beautiful, but I thought it was just WAY too tight and clingy on my booty/stomach area. The top detailing is very pretty, and I thought the v-neck was appropriately sexy without feeling like I would need to use dress tape. I would have wanted to size up to make the bottom less clingy, but unfortunately I didn't order the 12, so I went with another dress in my order for the event.
