I am 5'8, 130, small busted & this gave me curves, yay! I probably could have worn a 4 but sizing up gave me an advantage that defeats an issue with this dress: the wrap bottom showing your thighs to the world when you sit down. The looser fit allowed me to wear "boy short" Spanx instead of my usual "mid-thigh" Spanx (you should always wear Spanx.) So it allowed me to be relaxed, calm & flash a little leg at a public function where I had to present an award to my awful ex!

Wore this dress to a special dinner party. Wore no necklace because the neckline was so special. Traveled well in my suitcase from east to west coast. Fabric is substantial and perfect for a cool evening.

Lovely professional look, soft material, great fit

I thought this dress fit very well - agree with others, it is snug fitting. I included two photos to show the depth of the V-neck and the actual width of the shoulder cut-away for bra-planning purposes. The slit when seated showed more thigh than I generally like for a conference room meeting or a business dinner, but OK. I would consider renting again.

Loved this dress! The neckline is fabulous and material is great! The slit is ill placed and a bit high, so I found myself struggling to sit and not shoe note than a little too much leg. Even when I walked a little bit much for the work environment. Wore it anyway...cuz, PRETTY!

I rented this dress to wear for work. The fabric is very high quality and the dress fit like a glove. However, I did not expect the front slit to be so high/revealing. This became a much more significant issue when I was sitting down. The slit widened so much that you could see my upper thighs/almost crotch. I sat in my office with a jacket over my lap the whole day. Ordering a size up might help with this issue. If you plan on standing up and staying still the whole time (e.g., for pictures), this could work as a professional dress.

I LOVE Black Halo, & was excited to rent this dress for work. It fit like a glove, but the deep "V" neckline showed a bit too much décolletage for my job description. The crossover slit was a cool design element, but again, too revealing for work. Esp. when seated. If you've got a black tie event or fancy cocktail party to attend, wear this beauty all evening! Just doesn't fly going from work to an event.

Perfect blend of professional and sexy for nonprofit fundraiser. Flattering fit - was complimented on the dress all night long.

Great fit. Loved the neckline and the color. The slit was definitely high and not work appropriate without tights but once I was confident that nothing was actually showing, I embraced it.

Made my girls stand out. This dress was a hit. You just have to be careful sitting. The girls pop out more and the sexy slit on the leg will show everything. So not work appropriate really.

Great fit, Hugged in all the right places, beautiful neckline. Took one star away because the slot was VERY open. Had to be very conscious of how I was sitting.

The dress looks great on and I really liked it, but the slit was is made oddly. I've worn dresses with a similar slit in front before, but never had the issue where it would expose way too much no matter how I sit or while walking. Really only appropriate for standing in place and looking pretty. Probably wouldn't make me as self conscious if I didnt wear it to work, but sitting in it would still be a problem, I had to drape my coat over my lap everytime.

This dress looks great! Some notes. I am a size 32A and the bust was a little large on me. A push-up solved the problem, but I normally don't wear push-ups so this is something to keep in mind. Also, when you sit down the slit really opens up (as in you cannot sit without a desk or table above your legs or you will be totally exposed). Last (minor) issue is that I had limited arm mobility (you cannot lift your arms all the way up). All in all though, a great looking dress that I highly recommend!

I liked the dress. I wear a 6 and it fit perfectly. There is a split in the front that is somewhat revealing when you walk or sit down. I'm short so it wasn't much of an issue. I really liked the color.

You will need to go up at least 1 size if you have a larger bust. The dress body wasn't too tight but the slit was very high in the front and a bit past my comfort level for work. Possibly a bigger size would have helped with that as well since the slit is a bit of a wrap style.

The dress is a bit low cut so I had to wear a cami. Also the leg cut is a little high so I had to wear tights.

Fit me everywhere well except in my waist. Best got a very hourglass type figure.

To tight in the bust

I liked the dress a lot. It runs small so always order a size larger. It's a little sexy for work. It's perfect for a cocktail reception.

I'm working out my sizes in different brands post-baby and this dress was lovely but the sizing wasn't right for me. Hopefully down the road I'll be able to retry.

Classic Black Halo -- size up absolutely. I wear 6 in almost all sheaths and am an 8 in this and it's still very tight. I'm a 36DD and wore a lace camisole underneath just to hide some cleavage. Definitely better navy dresses out there, but I liked the neckline and it was fine.

Loved this dress however if you have a broader rib cage you might want to go a size or so up. Going to try renting it in another size to see if it fits.
