Wore to BAD PROM and it was the perfect pick ! I ordered the long and it fit just right . The slit is pretty high but I loved it :)

Warm and classy velvet beauty. Slit is very high on the left leg but because the material is heavy, leg did not show except when walking and there’s enough material to cover up when sitting down. Shoulder pads gave some pop but were not overwhelming. Nice v-neck with no worries about showing too much, a regular bra worked fine. I’m 5’9” and the long was a perfect length with under 2” heels. Anyone shorter than approx 5’9” the long would probably be too long. Enjoy!

I rented this for my husband's firm's Christmas party and it was an absolute hit. The dress fits true to size and is a beautiful velvet material. The slit is very aggressive, however, l was sure to wear boy shorts underneath and hold the dress at the slit to keep it from showing too much leg. Other then thst is is an absolute beauty!

I'm obsessed with this Bronx and Banco number! I wore to a formal wedding event and got so many compliments. Things to note - the slit is high, the sizing runs a bit big and the shoulder pads are intense. Overall I loved the 80s velvet vibe of this dress and it was extremely comfortable all night long. Only downside is that the black dye from the dress rubbed off on my skin and nails.... minor issue for a dazzling/different dress. Would definitely recommend renting!

This dress is AMAZING. The huge shoulder pads create a slimming effect for the rest of the dress and it is super comfortable. A previous renter had left a safety pin in just the right spot to keep the slit from opening to the waist. It’s sassy, fun and made me feel good, all wins!

I was a little nervous about the shoulder pads because of the reviews—and to be fair, my initial reaction when I tried this dress on was "WHOA"—but once my eyes adjusted, I realized they really give this dress a major dose of drama. This dress was my first formal wear since giving birth, and I was tremendously pleased with how glamorous (and forgiving!) the fit was. Very happy with this dress.

The dress fit wonderful, the zipper was tough to zip, not because of the fit. Other then that, was very comfortable..

This dress fit AMAZINGLY well and was perfect for an adult prom fundraiser! Yes the slit is super high, but the bonus is I wore a regular bra & non control top hose. The velvet was warm enough for a surprise March snowstorm in the Catskills. Compliments all night and felt like Alexis Carrington from Dynasty with the GREAT shoulder pads!!! Definitely rent this!!! It's a greater dress than the pictures, you'll love it! (The color did run a bit under my arms and onto my bra, but not horrible.)

Absolutely stunning dress. The compliments I received while wearing this dress never stopped and it was so comfortable to wear. The only note I can offer on this one and it is not negative is the slit goes all the way up to the belt. I wore sequin black shorts underneath it because when I walked around, the slit opened up further than I like, but easy to make more comfortable. It turned out so beautiful too. The transaction itself was seamless and there were zero issues. So happy!!

I loved this dress it fits snug around the waist, I'm 5'5" it was long on me but that is what I wanted... I somehow didn't know that it had a sexy split but i loved that too!!! It's beautiful would rent again as im not sure enough people saw me in it

Great dress, ton of compliments

As everyone else stated, the shoulder pads are ginormous. They feel really weird but they actually make the look of the dress and create a slimming appearance in the waistline; it’s magic ✨! The velvet material makes it warm for cold nights though the slit goes allll the way up; careful with that. The glittery feathers are gorgeous but they did ruin my fleece-lined stockings I wore with them when I went to see & Juliet in NYC on a cold night. Didn’t love that but now I know what this dress I capable of. It was priced way down so I ended up buying it. I don’t know where I’ll wear it again but it was perfect for a Broadway show! The one sleeve look usually isn’t my thing and this top didn’t make an exception, unfortunately. There’s nothing wrong with the top, I just realize this style isn’t for me. I had a hard time figuring out what to wear with it (wearing the Citizens of Humanity Samir’s Corset Jeans in the photos) *daughter’s room has the best lighting so forgive the clutter in the background haha

Great dress, very comfortable and flattering. However, the skirt portion is more of a wrap-over that will fully open and expose you if you are not careful. I just went to the theater so it wasn’t difficult to cover, but I wouldn’t recommend if you plan to be walking and dancing.

This was my second choice. It fit well but the slit is VERY high and I was going to a work event so I didn't wear it. The ruching on the sleeves is very dramatic and I thought it looked better with shoulder pads. The shorter length worked well as it was floor length for me.

High slit and shoulder pads

This dress is beautiful and so much fun to wear! Felt like Diahann Carroll, giving 80s socialite realness. The only downfall is that the slit is super high and I had to wear shorts underneath, and the shoulder pads were slipping out of place by the end of the night and I kept having to adjust.

Super comfortable! I wore for a work event so I had to pin the slit up the leg - it went all the way up to my hip which was sultry but not for the event I attended. Super comfortable and sparkly print. Long enough for tall girls too!

Overall, gorgeous dress. The should pads are quite large (I joked that this might be from the Blanche Devereaux collection) and the slit goes all the way to the waist (I safety pinned and no one noticed) A coat does not fit over the shoulder pads, but with long sleeves and velvet material, I wasn't cold. I got so many compliments!

Fit as advertised... I didn't read all the reviews, so was surprised by how big the shoulder pads were! That is why it got 4 stars from me ... almost wish you could removed them as a option. But, for great! Very slimming and easy to move around in. I also pinned the slit to prevent any malfunctions, but lots of options there!

I thought it would be fun to wear a dress with shoulder pads, but they kept shifting and felt awkward. The slit in this dress also needs to be pinned, as it goes all the way up to the waistline. This was the only dress I’ve ever worn to a gala that I didn’t get compliments on.

Wore this to a black & white themed birthday party and definitely got a lot of compliments and head turns from men and women alike!! Accentuates in all the right places and hung well on my body. I have a shorter torso so the back had a bit of a bulge, but it was okay because it kind of had that effect of when you tuck in a shirt and pull it out a bit in the back. Easy to move and dance in and doesn’t get too warm. Lost a star because a lot of photos showed it with a more pronounced shape in the shoulders but that was definitely not the case for the dress I got. Probably just passed around for a while.

I think if I were more curvey and taller, it might have worked as the fabric has a lot of give and flexibility. Also, the second same dress which was provided in the small, had shoulder pads which were stiff from the frequent dry cleaning.

Y’all I was not prepared and almost showed my Lady parts to 400 people. Thank God I randomly had a safety pin. Do yourself a favor and wear black spanx or something. The dress moves a lot so it was super stressful. The shoulder pads would have been better at like half the size. I got compliments but it didn’t make me feel “wow” like it should have
