Very comfortable and sexy.

Lots of compliments on the hair up with the neckline. Was definitely a bit large on top but the dress was two sizes smaller than I thought I wore so Woo! Liked the proper knee-length. Went out for a bachelorette (NYC locals - go to the store if you can!) and heard many good things during the evening and from the hubby! ;)

Classy, gorgeous and retro

This dress was a last minute switch. I has received another dress from RTR and it was all sorts of wrong for me. Luckily, the stylists are amazing and worked hard to get me into a dress I would look good in and that it came in time! The detail in the pattern of this dress is beautiful, and trust me, it looks better on than in the picture. I was hesitant to go with this dress because of the previous reviews. Yes, this dress runs big, especially in the chest and shoulders, but when you're in a pinch, you go with what you got. For me the sleeves were too long so i just folded them under and the chest was a little to big for my liking, but I went Tim Gunn and made it work :) and I couldn't have been happier. As far as sizing, it all depends on you. I would suggest your normal size or even a size smaller (thank goodness RTR lets you have 2 sizing options to send) I am never a person to take compliments very well, but they were much appreciated. I felt beautiful, looked classic and had a blast at my NYE party!

Size 14W is very different from Size 14

The definition of plus size is weird, some says anything size 12 and up is considered plus size and some say anything size 14 and up. I looked up what 14w meant and I wasn't able to find anything and some saying that 14w and 14 are the same thing. I thought this dress looked elegant for a winter wedding and figured it would fit the same as a regular size 14. Unfortunately this dress was way way too loose on me, I had no other options and had to wear it and it showed pretty badly. It was not flattering on me at all which is why I dont have a full length shot, though from my picture you can see how the sleeves are creasing and bunching due to how loose it was. Also, this dress is very funeral-y. I would not recommend it for a wedding or a night out.

Comfy and cute!

I ordered this for my engagement pictures. It was super cute and comfortable but it wound up being a super cold and windy day so I never got around to wearing it for the formal pictures. The sleeve was a nice length but I liked it pulled up slightly for the look I was going for. The material had some give which it great for someone with a larger chest. I'm super self conscious about my knees and I loved the length. I felt sexy yet sophisticated. Sorry for the hot mess mirror pic, I'm pretty sure I just got home from work and was excited to try on the dress! I also had one two different shoes because I was trying to figure out which one I wanted to go with. I'll be renting it again for something else!

Elegant! Order a size down or a size that you know generally fits snugly.

Beautiful dress for a night out - went to a steak birthday dinner in Vegas and then to a club. It transitions well with a change of shoes/jewelry. The fit is great and made me feel so comfortable in a fairly fitted dress!

Nothing.

Didn't wear the dress. It was way too big on top. I didn't order a smaller size because it fit just fine around the hips and I was afraid a size 16 would be too small. I did like the fabric and the style.

Generously Cut

This dress was HUGE in a 14W. I'm a standard size 14 99% of the time, I thought the 14W would slightly roomy, but in actuality the fit was very very loose. The shoulders were big, sleeves too long, and there was so much extra space in the waist the material just hung and gave me no shape. It's a beautiful deep navy blue, the texture of the material is great... So sad I couldn't wear it.

Just not for me...

Got this for work, but I really didn't care for the pattern. It was also really huge on me, which didn't help. The neckline wasn't very flattering for me either, but I think its being oversized on me had a lot to do with that.

Weird fit -- clingy on the bottom, loose on the top

I know several people have indicated that this runs large, but I found that it only runs large on the top and through the sleeves. If you're pear-shaped, I wouldn't size down. I tried both the 16w and the 18w (I'm normally an 18), and neither one worked. The 18w revealed every bulge from my waist down, but the top was weirdly loose and the sleeves had absolutely no shape. The neckline lay strangely, and since the dress is unlined, it just looked cheap. I don't know who this would look good on.

Birthday ready?

I am 5' 6", weigh 215 lbs., bust 42 C. I have narrow shoulders, so the neckline was all out of proportion and too big on me. The dress is a cotton lace knit stretch, so it should be forgiving for areas of the body that are rounder. It was, but it did not suit me. I did not wear the dress. So sad.

This dress was a classy alternative to a sweater and skirt.

I liked this dress, but definitely meant for someone taller. I am 5'3" and the dress fell below my knees. It still looked nice (I'm used to this), but it was definitely too big in the chest for me, and because of this it was poochy in the back. Overall, it was a nice dress for a party, but I didn't love it.
