The actual size is fine. I could fit my phone, wallet, keys and lipstick. But you will never retrieve those things without pulling half off them out and scratching your hand as you do it. The shape is rigid and just doesn't allow it to open or give. I used it twice trying to make it work but got so agitated I was ready to send back immediately.
