I rented this as a back up for a NY Gala. My first choice ran very small and even the second larger size didn't fit. I also brought an old standard dress of my own, just in case and was going to wear it. At the last minute, I was feeling like it was just a a bit too tight in the mid section and decided to try my RTR back up. Voila! it runs slightly large but i made it work with a couple of pins. (I usually wear a 6 but would get this in a 4 next time.) Felt great in it all evening. It's flattering, forgiving, and elegant. I was worried it would be too low in the back for a standard bra, but it worked just fine.

Rented it for a New Year's Eve dinner & party. This was my first RTR dress and I think that kind of drove me to pick something other than a black or blue dress (unless it's summer and I sort of have a tan, reds don't usually look great on me). Going through all the dresses I kept coming back to this one, it looked cute in the picture so I went for it. Dress arrived early and when I took it out of the box my jaw dropped, the computer does not do the pattern justice, the gold thread gives it just the right amount of sparkle without screaming "look over here, at me, right now!". The dress was a little big, and I probably could have gone with my normal size 10 but I was a little nervous as I do have boobs and hips, and it was right in the middle of the holiday (eating) season. However it wasn't so big that it was noticeable or uncomfortable and after dinner, drinks and dancing, I was happy for all the extra room. My boyfriend loved it, I got a ton of compliments, and I felt gorgeous in it, which is all any girl really wants. I'd totally recommend it!

This is a very unique style with great detailing! The material is comfortable and really light...kind of reminded me of a nightgown. It runs large and I would definitely size down for back up! Really unique with great color!

I rented this dress for an engagement photo shoot. The dress is beautiful, but I would have liked something a bit more form flattering, especially around the hips. Make sure to rent at least 2 sizes down! I'm usually a 6, but I rented a 0 and 2. I ended up going with the 2 because I wanted freedom to move around in the shoot. The 0 would have been fine for a party.

This was about as close as I've ever come to a Rent the Runway distaster. I rented the 10 and the 12, even as I kept reading reviews about how big this dress was. (I did so because I've been losing weight, but I haven't really lost enough to break out of the 10-12 size range yet) Both were quite large on me. RTR was EXCELLENT though, in sending off a size 8 to me -- at no charge -- because they couldn't get it to me within a 24-hour turnaround. The 8 arrived the day of the event (I wore this to an opera) and RTR pushed UPS to deliver it in the morning. And the 8 was...a little small. It fit perfectly up top and through the waist, but was a trifle tighter than I'd have liked through my hips. IN fact, it would've been ok, but I didn't like the way it cupped my bottom, so it was about my personal comfort zone and not some bad thing with the dress. So I wore the 10, pinning the shoulder straps and feeling like I was a lovely pregnant woman. Because this dress is huge. The dress itself is gorgeous, with all that red and gold. I found the fabric was a little scratchy, and the dress had a couple of pulls here and there, probably because the fabric is thin and there's a ton of threading detail on this. If you're going to rent this, go smaller in size.

It is a really beautiful lightweight dress. I wore it to a work christmas party with dinner and dancing and it was perfect for the occasion. This did run two sizes large on me. I'm 5'8" 150 lbs, but I have smaller shoulders/bust such that the 8 straps fell off my shoulders. Since my backup dress also did not fit, I called RTR and they overnighted a size 6 which fit perfectly. I got so many complements at the party I attended and many people asked where I got the dress, so RTR may have some new customers.

Gorgeous fabric, eye popping

I wore this to a Scotch Tasting formal event around the holidays. I had gained a few pounds and didn't like the way my dresses were fitting, and I was able to get this at the last minute. The reviews were very helpful and it hid all the extra weight in a very figure flattering way. Would recommend!

This is a great dress for a Christmas Party or Valentine's Day. It does run very big, so you can comfortably size down one to two sizes. I wore the 10 which is my usual size, and it was really big all over. I think I could have easily fit into the 8 and possibly a 6. I had to pin the straps to my bra because it was big in the shoulders and chest. DId receive several compliments- the dress looks expensive and was very comfortable to wear. I paired it with the Alexis Bittar Pave Drop Earrings, and they were perfect.

I wore this dress for my bachelorette party. I have clothes in my closet ranging everywhere from size 8 to 14, so I asked the fit specialist about sizing on this dress. Based on my measurements, she recommended a size 12. The 10 I got as a backup was WAY TOO BIG! I didn't have anything better to wear, so I taped the dress to my bra straps to keep it from falling off. That "fit specialist" isn't familiar with RtR products or sizing. :( I recommend ordering at least 1-2 sizes smaller than you would normally wear. The dress was especially large on top, perfect for larger-busted women. The babydoll waist on this dress makes it fit loosly through the waist and hips. The fabric is absolutely beautiful. It is a rich red silk with a muted floral design and metallic gold threads. The gold threads made the dress a little itchy around the neckline and arm holes. I would definitely rent this dress again, just in a smaller size.

This dress runs very large. I am usually between a 4 and 6 depending on the designer. Only the 4 was available and I decided that wasn't much a gamble given that the reviews on RTR all said how large it runs. However, even the 4 was HUGE on me. I am 5'9 and slender, but this dress is either not made for my body type or simply not marked as sized. I don't think I've worn a size 2 since I was 14 years old. Too bad because the pictures of others were really cute and it's a fun pattern and fabric that I wanted to try. I should note that RTR customer service was amazing when I called to determine what to do about this. They could not have been more helpful or accommodating to get me another dress.

This dress does not fit well. It is like a bag!

pattern and color are beautiful, could be good if you actually do have a baby bump, but it just made me look like I did.

The length was much longer and the overall specs were too large, especially below the bodice seam. It did not fit as sexy as it looked in the photo and instead was much fuller, flowy, and long.

The dress is beautiful and the one I received had never been worn. The top was a bit loose, and the gold threads were scratchy on the underside of my arms. I never wore the dress for those two reasons. Order the smaller size.
