Glad that I had the 14 as a backup because dress ran very large- order at least one size down. Would have been short on someone with average size legs (mine are short!). Very comfortable, very sparkly! Perfect!!

The dress was beautiful and got so many compliments! Worth the rental fee. Was a little big but I didn't mind because I didn't want tight either! Overall, great experience!

This dress is simply amazing! Only thing I wish I ordered the long. I wore heels and it was a tad short (I'm 5-8). This was my first RTR dress and I was certainly not disappointed. Will be renting again for my next event

I rented this for my sister in law's black tie optional September wedding. The ceremony was on the water and the reception inside...all the immediate family women were in long gowns and the guys in tuxes. I just had surgery and gained additional weight (plus I've spent the last several years battling medication and illness weight gain), so I am constantly uncomfortable with my body and my size. Even though I have been far larger than my old size 6 for a long time now, I don't typically wear plus size clothing as it never fits...everything that accommodates my stomach is too big in the shoulder and bust and often the hips and legs too. So I wear xl in "regular" sizes as often as possible since otherwise I'd be spending a lot of $$$ having everything tailored! I love Adrianna Papell...she designs modern and stylish clothing for all sizes. I loved the metallic Art Deco beading, the pure navy color, and the relaxed fit. I was able to wear a rose gold lace strapless bralette to prevent flashing when I bent over, and because the draping and fit was loose in my tummy area, for once I didn't wear Spanx or a corset, and on an 82 degree day, it was pretty awesome. I could have gone down a size but again, loved being so comfy. My only complaint was that a lot of the beading was loose and shedding, and that when it arrived, because it was sent in a folded over garment bag, it had creases across the middle that needed steaming. Incidentally, the other gown that arrived also fit perfectly and I adored it, but it ended up being just a tad too fancy for the night. I accessorize with rose gold heels, wrap and purse (from Amazon) and felt like a million bucks. RTR is the most amazing service to be offered in a long time and I can't wait to have something else to rent a dress for!

I wore this for a 1920s Great Gatsby themed black tie wedding and it was perfect! This dress is really beautiful in person - the only catch is that it definitely runs large. It does hug a little bit around the tummy, but otherwise it's very flattering and comfortable.

I would definitely order one dress in your normal size and one a size down. I ended up wearing the 20 but an 18 would have fit a little better but I had ordered the 22. Loved this dress! No need for shape wear but had to do a strapless bra. Also the sequins were a bit itchy but not as bad as I expected. Got so many compliments and was able to dance all night long. Also I am 5'6" and the normal length dress was too short to wear heels (which is fine by me) but if you want to wear heels I would get the long version of the dress!

I wore this dress to a formal ball and it was perfect. The overall fit was true to size. The dress is very forgiving and also very flattering. Would recommend.

The dress was amazing! It was missing a row of beads so I was sad about that but no one else noticed. I still loved the way I looked. Beaded dresses are tough.

Very sleek dress. I have a large bust and had no issues fitting into this dress. It was a bit long, but was the perfect length with my heels on. Beads were delicate.

This dress was really fun and easy to wear. I usually wear an 18w and that is the size that fit well. There was no question, I didn't even take the plastic off of the 20 sent as a backup. I used the stick on tape bra things. For the future, a strapless bra would have been a better choice. It is hard to bend over to deal with shoes in such a long, fancy dress, so skip shoes with buckles. The loose fitting style made the dress easy to wear without shape wear or even full pantyhose. My body might have conformed to societal expectations more if I had, but I was comfortable. The dress shed beads and sequins all over, but I didn't notice until the next day when I drove the car and saw remains on the passenger seat. It was still sparkly and the party was quite dim, so the wear and tear made me glad it was a rental.

I typically wear a size 14, and wore the 14 in this dress as well. The length of the straps and the room in the bust was perfect, but the waist was a little loose and the length was too long for me (I'm 5'4"). Learning from another reviewer, I ended up using a thin gold belt to cinch the dress in and bring it up a couple inches. It worked great, and due to the dress already billowing at the bust, no one could see the belt or notice the change. The beading on the dress is beautiful and it really serves to highlight your curves. I think it is definitely flattering on most people! Be warned-- this dress is popular in many colors- I saw this dress in 2 colors at the wedding I attended!

I ordered the dress in two sizes. I tried on the 16W first, I was happy until I noticed a big chunk of beading missing on the bust. So I didn't bother trying on the 14W but instead called the company. They were apologetic and since the dress wasn't available for my dates in the 16W (or any size), they offered to overnight me a different dress with up to 2x the value. I couldn't find anything I liked that was 1) in my size 2) available 3) didn't require wearing no bra (I'm a busty girl!). So I tried on the 14W. It fit nicely, a little less comfortable. It was missing a little beading on the hip but it wasn't noticeable. It looked very nice, it was a little short so it showed off my shoes. I was happy with the service, I think if I was smaller I would have been able to find something else though. I wish Rent the Runway would get more plus sizes. Still, I'm pleased.

This dress does run large. I originally rented a size 18 and 20 and the 18 was very big on me. When I called customer service they told me they would send me the next size down (16). The dress was sent to me the next day! The dress was very comfortable and slid right on. I didn't even have to use the zipper. I wore gold open toe heels and the length was perfect. I will definitely be renting from RTR again!!!

Fits true to size. Very flattering if you don't have the flattest stomach ;-) I wore it to a night time wedding and received several complements. Length was perfect with 3 inch heels.

The dress fit perfectly and was soooo comfortable. I received so many compliments throughout the night!

The color and detail are elegant. I'm 5' 10' so I rented the L and it was long enough that I could wear heels. I normally wear between a 12-14 but the 14L was unavailable. The 16L was a little lose but I was comfortable.

Has an inter lining that helps hide the "extra curves". I have a larger chest and covered perfectly. The length was great since I got to wear flats with the dress.

The fit was true to size. The longer length was perfect for my height (I'm 5'9+) and the sequins were perfect.

It was a little short for me but I made it work. (5'7"). Found some cute shoes that would show.

The fit was wonderful, hid my tummy, beading placement was very flattering. The dress itself is in need of repair for the beading. RTR was great with getting another option sent out.

Dress runs extremely large. I usually wear a 12 or 14 and this dress was hanging off of me. I loved the actual dress but it just didn't fit well. I also received a dress with missing sequins so I ended up returning it. I recommend ordering a size down. Unfortunately the smallest size was a 14 so it just didn't work out.

The dress was beautiful. I am plus sized and very uncomfortable wearing my arms out, so I wore a scarf the dress. So many people commented on the dress and stated I did not need the scarf. Before the end of the night I was without the scarf around my arms and enjoyed myself. Definitely will order again!
