Loved this dress! I’m a Large on top and Extra Large on bottom so I got L and XL for this dress. The L fit but felt like it was going to ride up on my hips. The XL was a bit big on my top half but much more comfortable for the bottom so I ended up wearing that one. I loved how unique this dress was and got a ton of compliments on it. It was a great length and a very forgiving fit. The fabric is dark/thick enough that you can go braless if you prefer! The dress has an attached felt belt that I liked a lot (adjustable sizing, made a nice cinch at the waist and made a nice bow with it). Beware that the L did not come with the belt but RTR was very helpful with that!

What a gorgeous dress, and so easy to dance in! While the top layer runs large, the slip is meant to be tight and may be short for taller wearers. Love this dress for cooler months.

Beautiful detail, comfy for a night out

LOVED this dress and received compliments all night. It's versatile enough to wear year-round, with a jacket, tights and boots or some strappy open toed heels. The neckline can get a bit itchy depending on how the fabric lays, but the tie in the back is adjustable and it's an easy fix.

This is a great dress. Does run large like most other reviewers have said. I usually wear a Large but wore a medium. Could have probably gone with a small as well. Other RTRers have mentioned that the black underlining is shorter than the lace overlay in the skirt. But I was never worried that it was ride up because the underlining and the overall is attached together so there's no chance of ride up. If you're thinking about renting, I highly recommend. The red is vibrant and I got a lot of compliments from strangers, which to me is always a sign of a great dress.

This dress is gorgeous! So many compliments. It did run VERY large so definitely size down and make sure you have a black belt of some sort because mine did not come with it. The belt helps give you a shape and without it I'm not sure the dress would be as pretty. I usually wear a medium but the small fit with some extra room to spare.

This was a great dress for a formal affair! It's comfortable and looked great. I wore the large because i wanted the slip a little longer. The waist band was missing but i improvised. I really liked this dress!

I wore this dress to a winter evening wedding. The fit is true to size, and the tie details were lovely. I am high waisted so this really was flattering. I'm 5'5 and the hemline was just above the knee, making it the perfect length. I had to steam the ribbons, and clean up the lace edges before I wore it, but otherwise it was ready to wear. I paired it with leather booties, RTR earrings, and bracelet. I may even rent this again. I loved it!

Rented for a casual wedding. Was real comfy to wear. Only 'issue' is the slip under the dress is short. Fortunately the dress is ornate enough that you don't notice much but could make one self conscious when dancing. Runs big. I usually wear a medium but small fit perfect. Little scratchy around the collar but nothing you can't live with for a handful of hours. I'd rent this dress again.

So I really liked this dress BUT it came without the belt which made it look like a blimp on me. It is NOT form fitting at all. Luckily I had a belt at home that worked great with the dress and I felt really great in it. One thing I will mention is that the slip dress underneath the outer lining is significantly shorter. I mean so short I was constantly checking that my butt wasn't hanging out. If you aren't curvy and don't have a big burr you'll be fine but beware if you do. I didn't have an incident with it but I was very conscious of it the whole night.

I really liked this dress but was so disappointed that the black belt didn't arrive with the dress. I tried to search my closet for a black sash, but all I found was the grey one in the picture.. and that just wasn't going to work. I may try to rent again in the future for a different event. RTR was very good about shipping me a new dress because of the missing belt sash.

I could have worn the Xtra small because the material is very gaping. But at the same time, it worked and I was comfortable all night.

I usually where a Medium. But I saw that it ran big so I ordered a small and I was very please with the fit! Light weight which was nice because it was a hot day. The belt is stitched on the dress in the back. What I did was tied the belt as tight that can then pulled the material down so it wasn't so puffy on top. Luckily I didnt have to wear the medium because it came with NO belt and I wouldn't of been able to take it off the small since its stitched on. It wasnt in any pockets of garment bag. Otherwise very pleased with the dress!

I ordered the small and xs after reading reviews and the xs was perfect. I got so many compliments on this dress. It was so comfortable and easy to dance in. It had so many details that i was able to wear simple black pumps and didn't have to go crazy with the accessories.

I was at a National work event, and was complimented multiple times by people I did not know. Such a cute dress, and definitely runs fairly large with the lace over lay.

Runs large. Wore the small. I was swimming in the medium and the belt was missing. You absolutely need the belt. I was worried the neck would get itchy but it didn’t. The later underneath is really short but you don’t really notice it. Easy to dance in. Received many compliments on the dress. Overall, I loved it!

I wore this for my Alumni KY Derby party. It was absolutely fabulous, I was told my outfit should be on the cover of a magazine, I won the best dressed award at the party. The dress is loose and free flowing, the belt was very basic. I didn't like where the belt sat when inside the belt loops, so I tied it up higher and put the bow on the back side. I live in Houston and the weather was high 80's but I did not feel too hot. The length was right at the knee and I'm 5'10, there is so much potential for this dress, so, rent it and have a ball!

A little tardy with putting this review up, but I wore this dress to a wedding in November and loved it. The material wasn't super heavy, but it was appropriate for a November wedding in NYC. There was a lot of excess fabric, but I didn't mind it. Would rent again.

Wore this to a company holiday party. The color of the lace is amazing, the dress is very flattering, and I got tons of compliments on it.

This was such a fun dress! I'm actually in my second trimester so it was a great fit especially with a baby bump since the bottom was more loose fitting and flowy I ordered both the small and the medium and the small ended up fitting just great

True to size

The size large fit great, but i felt like my butt was going to come out of the underneath part of the dress. I wore the xl it was huge but i made it work and got lots of compliments

Seriously the most beautiful and unique dress I've ever worn! People were asking me all night long where they could find one for themselves. Runs a little big, but the velvet tie around the waist makes the size more customizable. Great for a fall wedding.

Wore this dress for a rehearsal dinner at an upscale tavern. The dress runs large, I wore a dress by the same designer in a size XL, but even the L had a lot of extra fabric, especially in the back. The overlaying applique is so pretty, but yes there is a lot of extra fabric to try and tuck in if you are trying to show your waist. It was very comfortable, and I would for sure rent again, but would size down to a Medium. Lots of compliments the whole night!

Beautiful detailing in this cocktail dress! The high neck and belt really make the dress standout. It works well with any bust size and runs true to size. I would size up for the backup since there is no stretch to the fabric. It is fitted at the waist because of the belt but there is comfortable room in the hips. This dress works best for Apple, Hourglass, Athletic, Pear, Petite, Straight & Narrow, Full Bust figures. I would pair this with black heels and a black clutch to match!

Loved the color and style of dress. Was a bit baggy though and didn't fully compliment my shape but I still got a lot of compliments and it suited my needs and purpose.

Everyone said this dress ran big, but I believe the black under layer was true to size. It was a little long on me (5'3) but I paired it with a taller heel and it was fine. Ordered small and xsmall, the xsmall did not come with the attached non-removable belt and would have looked like a sack because of that. Overall happy with the dress tho!

This dress runs very large. I'm usually a medium but based on other reviews, I rented the small with XS as backup and wore the XS. It is pictured with a belt but neither size came with one. The lace overlay is sheer enough to see the silhouette of the form fitting black lining underneath so you could just wear it loose but it's much more flattering cinched in. I made do with a piece of black ribbon. The dress was very comfortable and pretty; a perfect little pop of red for a holiday party. It didn't require any creative undergarments, just a regular strapless bra.

However, the collar was itchy and the dress had pulls on the side from where it was supposed to hold the ribbon in. The ribbon also was starting to fray. I had issues with the slip riding up also. I normally am an xxl and would have been more comfortable in the xl. But, I was sent the xl with no ribbon so it looked like a sack of potatoes and was unwearable so I had to suck it up with the large. I’m 5’2 210 hourglass shape with most weight in the tummy. for the ladies this size go with an Xl. Overall ok with this rent but disappointed with all of the flaws.

I was just shy of six months pregnant so finding a dress that fit a very different body than what I'm used to was hard. This worked out great though. Plenty of room to eat and move around. I wore the small but it still had room for my chest and was a little loose in the neck so it drooped and wasn't as clean a fit as I would have liked. The belt was attached in the back on one of the dresses (not both) so placement might be off for some people.Worked perfectly for the non profit gala event.

Definitely ran large and they forgot to send me the belt but with a little ingenuity and a bathrobe belt I was able to make it work! Lots of compliments and it's super comfortable. The pattern is really beautiful!

I thought there was a lot of extra lace fabric on the top and around the waistline ( I think other renters said that as well). I had to tuck it in to the belt otherwise it made me look larger. Once you tuck the extra fabric in though, it looks great. I got lots of compliments throughout the night. The belt was attached in the back, and I didn't like where it hit on my waist, so instead of threading it through the belt loops, I tucked those in to the fabric folds, and was able to tie the belt higher on my waist. I would rent again, but probably in the medium.

I usually wear a large or extra large, but ordered a medium bc of the other reviews saying this dress runs large. So glad I did! The black underlay rode up a little, but I expected that. There was some extra fabric of the lace, but I just gathered it in the back, no big deal. I got compliments all night long! It was comfy and easy to move in. Definitely a success!

Rented this for a formal-ish winter wedding and loved it. I really liked the neck and lace overlay in particular. My only gripe was that the slip was SO short, it hardly covered my butt and made me a bit self-conscious. Maybe the small would have been better, but there was definitely plenty of fabric to go around otherwise and I wouldn't have wanted more anywhere else. I wore short black spanx underneath and it was fine in the end. For reference, I am 5'7", 135lbs, athletic figure, bra size 32D. I typically wear a 2 on top and 4 on bottom.
