The fit was good, and yes, it does run just slightly large. I'm usually a two or four but the two fit very well. It's truly beautiful. It's not what I would call "slimming" because of the ruching around the waist / just below the midsection band. I had no trouble wearing a regular bra with this; some complained the v-neck was too low but it did not bother me at all.
